Verbal Diarya

I am a young sheperd from the Mediterranean island of Mypos, who showed up unexpectedly at the Chicago apartment of my distant cousin, Larry. My wide-eyed, fun-loving manner, my nutty Myposian customs, and my tendency to take everything that Americans tell me quite literally all cause considerable disruption to Larry's organized life. Don't be ridiculous!

Foxy Brown
comments: is my girl, and see above if you have any thoughts on the matter.
Benjamin Britten

...
comments: DAMN that's a random list of people...

My favorite movies:

Contact
comments: The universe according to Jodie Foster.
The Empire Strikes Back
comments: ...or whichever one has Jabba the Hutt... The titles all sound the same to me...
Fellowship of the Ring
comments: Two words... Blonde Elf.
Election
comments: really cracks me up too. It's the only movie in which Reese Witherspoon's monster-sized melon is bearable to look at.
Network
comments: is a fabulous movie. Rent it. You'll thank me in the morning.

My favorite authors:

Anne Rice
comments: Beautifully descriptive.
Julia Alvarez
comments: A one-woman Latina Explosion. Move over, J Lo!
Orson Scott Card
comments: ...I add begrudgingly. The more I think about "Ender's Game" the more brilliant it seems. Grumble...
David Sedaris
comments: ...cracks my shit up!
Tom Wolfe
comments: "Bonfire of the Vanities" is really an amazing book. I think it speaks volumes about Americans and American culture (especially American culture of the 80s!). Pity about the movie...
