Happy Memory... (2024-04-22 - 7:56 a.m.)

I will address the question of why a Bluebird house is called a Bluebird house? My answer of wondering this question myself, off and on now for a few days is: I don't know. Maybe that Bluebirds like round entrance holes, a lot of holes which I drilled into the bottom for drainage. I do know that they are really attracted to hues of blue, though I decided not to stain their house because of chemical transfer to them and their feathers. I placed it so that part of the day their house will be in the shade also. So in reflection, this was a great question. There are Wren houses, there are Robin house structures, ducks like a house a certain way. Most birds are looking for a specific place in which to live. Apparently for this particular Bluebird couple, they have found their place in which to rear their babies. This makes them happy and this makes me joyful.

Now onto another topic. I asked for writing suggestions here, and one person suggested a happy childhood memory. I thought and thought and came up with many, so I chose one. So here goes. Oh, I figure childhood means before I turned 12 years of age.

When I was in elementary school I joined the group called the Bluebirds. It was the first group of the group called Camp Fire Girls. You earned badges and beads, for your group and individual accomplishments. Bless her heart, my mom was our parent leader for years. Even back in elementary school, I loved the environment and Science. So back to a very fond memory. Started learning all about Mother Nature. We weren't super wealthy. I went to day Bluebird Camp far away, at least to me at the time. Got on a bus. Each day was an adventure. We learned all about things in nature on our hikes. We made things that we picked up out in the Woods. We cooked our lunches over a fire. We would swim. I was so excited because I learned to float and to do the doggy paddle. I remember just being so happy then. So there is one of many of a memory.
