"Men give me credit for some genius. All the genius I have lies in this; when I have a subject in hand, I study it profoundly. Day and night it is before me. My mind becomes pervaded with it. Then the effort that I have made is what people are pleased to call the fruit of genius. It is the fruit of labor and thought."

04 October, 2008 - 10:44 A.M.

This poem is dedicated to the memory of Eric and Connie Page, always in my heart.

Connie passed at the end of August. I recall their wisdom, as before he passed in 2004 Eric wrote me,"
I know how frustrating it can be as you feel yourself getting better and then all of a sudden you are kicked in the teeth and all the hard work has been for nothing, but you have to keep trying!"   Now she is gone too. Despite the difficult path I am facing, these words inspire me.

I thought I should tell you,
Unminded, unmoaned,
Too soon after he moved on,
I was told she died.

Now I see two stars,
In the beautiful sky.

From shadowlands.
To the rocky isles,
They made a life;
Their family shine,
A joined ray of light.
Reflected in clear skies.

From sparkling seas,
To the endless greens,
From Saint George to Saint John,
Their beingness timelessly free,
Together for eternity.

By the roadside,
Mothers with children,
The holy shrines,
Devout lovers,
Sharing flowers..
An intense silence
An indescribable peace.
I felt the reality that she died,
In loneliness, I cried.

I hear that voice,
Looking for her,
In everything,
Yet none knew,
Nothing gave comfort.

I wished,
I wept,
But met only the unknown.
Suddenly free,
No grief, just a sigh.

Hearing trees whispering..
In such I beheld,
O Lord, my heart,
Alone observing,
O that which I yearned for and why,
The description is not the described,
There I beheld thy face,
The totality of life and death.
Listening to silence..
For where the mind is that,
There is this treasure.

This is the end I have known,
To critically see,
As the beautiful eye of Horus watches on,
Our mutual possibilities.

I love you both..
And yes Jiminy Cricket, some wishes do come true.
