Yes, I'm still here.

So, the monks didn't hold my interest very well. I felt out of place and culturally deficient because I thought their yellow hats were silly-looking.

Then, that same weekend, I saw WWC's production of The Tempest, which was pretty well done. The freshman they got to play Miranda was amazing. They had multiple Prosperos, which I had mixed feelings about. It worked as a visual, but it took away from the believability of the character. However, they also played up the Prospero-is-Shakespeare angle, which was neat.

So, loneliness has been wearing on me. The boy works from three pm to eleven-thirty five nights a week, and lately he has been leaving two hours early to work out, and the hours alone are getting old. I call my friends, but they're never home, and when they are home, they're busy.

Somewhat relatedly, I'm contemplating quitting the disney store. reasons:
-they do not give me hours
-since I started, they have been promising me more hours "soon"
-the manager's attitude is close to intolerable
-part of why I end up home alone is the damn call-in shifts-- I can't plan in advance because I might have to work, and if I don't go in, it's too late to catch anyone because they've already made plans and gotten on with their lives.

Reasons to stay:
-I don't dislike the job itself, it's just... all that other crap.
-discount=good for Christmas shopping!
-free trip to Disney World!

*sigh*

Well, Ande-bert and her boy are coming up tomorrow. I don't know yet if I have to work. Watch this be the one call-in they use me for. But it won't be too long after they get here that I get off, so it shouldn't be a problem.
