This World versus The Spirit World
Seeking The Perfect Life
Jesus said to him, "If you wish to be perfect,
go, sell what you have and give to [the] poor,
and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me."

We live currently in this Earth realm of the flesh and blood, while inside our minds and souls is the spirit that lives forever.
Because we are entombed in this world for now, we find it hard not to think of things in measure of the experiences that are worldly. And yet we find moments where our hearts soar and miracles big and small move us with grace to that state of piety, uplifting the spirit by filling us with God's love.
The measures of success, of this world, are very different from the ones that bring ultimate success, the kind that really matters, in the spirit. Sacrifice can be uplifting when it's done willingly. Jesus taught us by His example that we must die to this world, or let go of attachment to any of its holds on our will power, in order that we must be freed from sin and become born of the Spirit into the next world.
It is a requirement. Not that we give up our lives, but that we give up attachment and entitlement in order that we may serve God by using His gifts given to us in stewardship to love one another.
