Holy Krap, It's all still here! - 2010-11-17 - 2:37 a.m.

OMFG! It's all still here! (well, the best bits anyway.) It's been 7 years and the world has changed, but this is still here.

Ok, so Floodtide locked his diary and most of my links are dead (not to mention my Geocities is GONE!). Gods, where to start. All the hell I've been through since my last squeek here. I actually thought this blog was decesed when I checked on it about 5 years ago and there was this massive "we crashed" message, so I started a new blog elsewhere.

Well, I made the classic mistake of letting family in on the blog address (on Facebook) so now I can't vent properly there as it gets back to me in all sorts of ways. Damn other blog company - no site security at all. So I thought I'd try this old site again just to see.

My new pseudonym is Gune (the navigator from Titan AE). I got stuck with that name when my best fiend's kids started calling me that after they saw the movie. It's more a part of me than "Mythrandir" now.

I even use that name in my MMORPG, Mabinogi (from Nexon.net). Most of my posts on the new blog are about the game and the people I've become close to in it, but that's relatively recent.

Since the last post here, I got a job at a callcenter (big surprise) and have been ground to powder, melted down with dragonfire, smelted in the ovens of hell, and beaten on the anvil of time.

I used to whine and complain about the trivial bullshit of daily life and minor problems. I was blind, and now I see. There are times I pray that I had things like they were then.

To put things into perspective, I have been diagnosed Diabetic in the last few years. That was the beginning of the downward spiral. Next we found a chronic problem with back spasm, which developed into a numb streak in the left siatic(sp?) nerve (down to the heel). After about 6 months of that they took a set of x-rays that finally showed something - calcium buildup in the vertibra that is doing the pinching as the disk degenerates. That finally explaned the "nails in the tailbone" sensation I've lived with for ages.

Also, blood sugar has benn running 3x normal for a long time, so my kidneys are damaged. In short, my body is medically that of a 65 year old. And that's just me.

I'd go into what's happened to the wife and what shape she's in, but I don't want to get that depressed right now.
