Yep, I'm still alive.

I don't really have any good excuse for not having written lately. It seems like there's just never time to do it. This is the first hour of totally alone time I've had in... well, a long time.

Major events since my last entry:

1. We adopted another kitten. He's actually Punky's kitten, but he's living with us. Her mom is uber allergic. By virtue of her son now living with us, SHE is basically living with us. He's been here nearly a month and you could count on one hand all the times she has slept at her house. Which is cool. I love having her here.

2. Nikki's wedding. I really really didn't want to go, and considered on multiple occasions the odds I could back out and she would still speak to me. But in the end, I knew I couldn't do that. She's my best friend, and she was counting on me. So I went. Turned out it wasn't so bad. The trip was so fast I didn't have time to be bored.

She looked absolutely gorgeous. And as much as I hate to admit it, seemed genuinely happy to be marrying Anal Andy. The kids were adorable. And her step-daughter latched on to me and decided I was her new best friend. It was cute, but I'd imagine it would've gotten old had I been there any longer than I was.

3. Baby Momma is no longer a problem. A little of this and a little of that was said, and in the end Punky was so pissed off she doesn't want to speak to her anymore. Which suits me fine. BM said some very nasty things about several of us. The straw that broke the camel's back was when she said Punky "only apologized and attempted to patch things up because she is so co-dependant".

That's about it as far as major events go. Things are much better here. I don't feel so much in limbo anymore, and I think the major reason is because I actually DO accomplish stuff on my days off now. Punky has been a big help in that respect, essentially nagging me in to doing the necessary stuff.

Even the money situation is a little better. We've reigned our frivilous spending way in. We don't eat out much and we don't waste money on stuff we didn't need. Pretty much everything we've spent lately has been on groceries, bills, gas or a few Christmas gifts. For the first time... well, probably EVER... we're not going to find ourselves scrounging for rent money, nor will we be totally broke from the day rent is due til our next paydays.

Work is also better. Since I haven't called off in 7 or so weeks, the bosses are much happier with me. Mother Hen has stopped trying to make my life miserable and everyone else seems less snappy. That's logical, I guess. And the two thorn-in-my-side employees are no longer a problem. One is already gone and the other leaves next week. Even the actual act of work itself hasn't been so bad since they've been letting me out on the floor a little more often. The only notably unpleasant events have been training several idiots recently. We're losing around 10 people, due to leaving for school, firings and just moving on. That's roughly half our staff. Therefore managements judgement in new hires has apparently been hindered, and out of the 4 most recent, one worked only two days, two are idiots and only one is competent. My one year anniversary is just less than 3 weeks away, and I'm so incredibly proud of that.

Oh, and one week from Saturday I'll be at the Marshall home opener. Anyone that knows me knows that's the highlight of my year, and I couldn't POSSIBLY be more excited.

Whoa. That's enough talking. I'll try to update more often. Promise!

Love,

Cat
