a giant

Steve Kroft got it right. 'A giant' he stated when asked of the legacy that describes the late Ed Bradley.

I personally never knew Ed Bradley or even met him, nor did I ever send him a strongly worded letter.

Watching Ed was what made 60 Minutes entertaining for me.

There was something about the way he spoke during his interviews that made me like him and want to hear more.

His pierced ear always dazzled me and his skin colour was there, the same colour as mine, as if to say, 'I'm not scared of you'.

He made stories touchable and real and honest. Ed didn't act bigger than his britches. He lived to be himself.

It was easy to see that when he asked questions and got answers he didn't expect or understand. That was it. He wasn't afraid to show that he didn't get it. That's what made him good.

Sometimes you'd get to see him learn something new. And that's hard for anyone to do let alone a reporter being watched by a world. He was of super strength and humility to withstand and uphold all that he learned.

He was a giant.
