Melancholy yet full of hope

Transfixed by dark chestnut eyes

reflected through the looking glass,

Eyes that feign ignorance-

A face not betraying emotion.

Sadness is not to be shown

After all, what is depression but misguided happiness?

Yet, still, a smile creeps at the corners of the mouth

And the all-seeing chestnuts sparkle.

And I write, melancholy yet full of hope,

Waiting for something wonderful to fuck everything up.

update April 6, 2020: Sorry, we just had 8+ hours downtime due to a server problem. Restoring from backups took soooo long, but everything is back and no data was lost. Ay yay yay! Anyhow, hope everyone is well with the virus stuff.
