fzzzzzzzzzz... pop... *-[===] <-(firework)

My new philosophy of Dland, which is the same as it was a while ago, I guess, is that I'm going to type things first and check on my buddy list and other diaries second. That should kinda sorta focus my writing a little.

Fourth of July was yesterday. Big whoop. I set $30 worth of fireworks off, including an interesting chain reaction of little tiny fireworklets arranged in the colors of the rainbow, and yet I am unfulfilled. Every year it becomes more and more of a chore, something I have to do to please... well, Grandma. I don't think Mom really cares that much... Dad might care a little more than Mom, but I don't think it'd kill him if we stopped altogether. I mean, I don't think they'd do it if I weren't there. There I stand, lighting fuses and dashing away, and my grandma, my alcoholic grandma, she says "Isn't she precious?" and my dad says "Who?" "Ellen, setting all this up and everything." "Oh, yeah." A thankless task. I mean, yeah, it's kinda fun, but not as much as it used to be. I used to love setting off fireworks with my dad. Because once upon a time it was me AND Dad doing it together. Now I'm expected to do everything and I'm frankly apathetic about it all. Show your country you love it by incinerating a small portion of it. Hurrah.

We didn't just do the fireworks thing. We went to see SW:AOTC (again for me, first time for Mom, Dad, and Grandma). I think it was actually better the second time around, but there was something lacking. No one made a sound, except laughter. No cheering for the SW logo, no cheering for Yoda... what a letdown. Then again, no audible groaning during the Hayden and Natalie bits, so I think I was a little more forgiving of the bad dialogue. Oh, and I love Ewan. Help me, Obi-wan Kenobi! You're my only hope! Oh, I am such a twit. Ah, whatever. We also went to Taco Bell. How terribly exciting.

Last year we did a similar thing. Mom was in Wales, so Dad, Grandma and I went to see Shrek (third time for me), dinner at the oh so wonderful Pizza Shmizza, and back for a half hearted fireworks 'show.'

I do, however, have to question the sense of taking an elderly woman who has never seen a Star Wars movie to the second installment of a prequel trilogy. *shakes head* Oh, and grossest of the gross, she puts frickin' KETCHUP on her tacos. EEEEEEEEEEEW!

I'm going to go see MIB 2 with a bunch of my friends today, which'll be pretty sweet, 'cause I haven't seen a lot of them since, oh, Spring Break *if then*. It's so sad, I'm trying really hard not to use Amy just to hang out with Martha a bit. I'm so mean. I like Amy a lot, heck, I spent half an hour on the phone with her last night, which means I totally missed what was going on with CSI. DAMN. But if I wanted to see CSI that bad, I would have said "Gotta go, Amy. I'm watching CSI with my parents." Ah, I love that show. And I've only started watching it in the last couple of months. The beauty of that is that though it might be reruns to nearly everyone else, it's new to me! Ha. Ha. Ha.

OOOOOH! Did I mention that I might get to see the 2kees in concert? YEEEHAW! I'm so excited. On top of that, it's at Disney's California Adventure, so I can cruise the park all day and then go see DAVY AND MICKY! EEEEEE! And I'll finally get to meet an internet friend in RL! Rachel! I'll exit on that high note, because it's noon now and I'm HUNGRY. And I don't want to miss Perry Mason! And I'm using too many exclamation points!
