alive, alive!!
so the few hours sans laptop have been painful. harri3tspy referred to it as cutting off a limb. indeed. or both hands, in my case, my fingers itching to type, to check the news, to procrastinate. we have a solution though (everyone may breathe a collective sigh of relief): we got a cheap-end external monitor (bright, 17 inch beauty!), and my lovely husband will replace the video cable thing on my otherwise functioning laptop in the next few days. you see, a computer type person like him has no fear to open up my lovely ibook-goodness of a computer. i'd be scared. the other thing, of course, is that i can't really reciprocate. as a folklorists, what tangible skills can i offer? are your jokes broken? need a tune-up on your urban legends? we'll i'm your woman, mistress and so to be doctor of folklore! eat your heart out, brothers grimm!
seriously though, i suffered painful withdrawal sans the computer. i'm addicted. computer users anonymous will soon have another member. problem is: i realize i have problem, but i don't want to fix it. a la homer simpson: mhmmmhhhh, computers!!!
