another time, another place June 04, 2008
I was sick yesterday.
I dont know what hit me, but it felt a bit like a truck. I stayed home. Dozed a lot. Cried a little, when I learned that Obama clinched it. Cheered myself up with Whose Line (UK) and Stephen Fry clips on YouTube.
I have something else to divert my mind this evening, though. The other day, I ordered a copy of an old Australian miniseriesBrides of Christfrom Amazon Marketplace. It came today, and Im looking forward to seeing it. Ive seen enough bits of it on YouTube to really pique my interest and make me go looking for it. I came across it when I made one of my periodic searches for Philip Quast songs. He doesnt sing in it, but oh, myhe was quite a hunk, as the economics teacher. The convent school's secular, liberal, black-leather-jacket-wearing, motorcycle-riding, male economics teacher.
Anyway, it arrived this morning, and I intend to get at least one episode under my belt this evening. Hence the short post. I just really feel the need to escape to a different era, and while I'm at it--the other side of the world.
Reading: Back to "John Adams". I think Ill be finishing it this time around, but no promiseshes got still got 26 years left to live.
Beading: Bead order hasnt arrived yet. Tomorrow, I hope!
Surfing: Monty on Movies. I wish he posted more often, though.
Listening: Political bullshit on NPR.
