Dearie Diary,
Today I will be writing about things that I heard that touches my heart. They are said by God the heavenly Father through my cluster leader and pastor's mouths. I think that this will be a very long diary entry as I will be putting down what I can recall from the two talks. I will also put down my thoughts.
Last Sunday, after church service, we have a cluster meeting. A cluster is a big group of people from different home groups. It was our first cluster meeting as we had just been formed. Thus, I was very excited about it on that day! Excited to know more friends whom I don't really know who was in my church! Excited about the fellowship we will have as a cluster!
The cluster leader, Jeffery gave us the talk. I must say he is a very interesting speaker. He started with reminding us the need to renew our vision. We can renew our vision in many areas but he mention that our 4 priority are: GOD, GUARDING OUR HEART, FAMILY and CHURCH. We may neglect one of it because of spending too much time on another. An example to illustrate how so. Christian parents who are very involved in outreaching to lost souls (serving the CHURCH) may neglect their children (FAMILY). I am not trying to say that all christian parents will be like that, the above said is just an example.
Faith was another thing that he spoke of. Faith is very important in prayer. The Israelites can cross the red sea without drowning was not only due to God's miraculous act but also due to their faith in the Lord. Thus when we pray, we should have the faith that God heard the prayer and God will answer the prayer if it is not against his will.
He also say something about positioniong ourselves in the centre of God's view. This point I did not remembered much on what he was saying. All I could recall is that it is better that we are in the centre of God's view than to be out of his view.
Another thing God spoke through Jeffery's mouth is the fact that To be a GOOD leader, there is a need that he or she has to be ministered as well. This is very true as if a leader is not ministered how can we expect him or her to minister and mentor other people.
Another thing that was mention yet I did not remembered in detail was the point that salvation is an experience. Though I did not remembered the details he shared, but I tell you for sure that salvation is a gift from God. And when you truely got it, the joy you experience is beyond what one can easily describe.
Changes can be good and bad. Yet very often, like what is mentioned in the cluster meeting, we did not wait to see if that particular change is good or bad. We refuse to even try out the changes. An example is that a pastor may got the word from God that the church have to undergo some change. The people may not welcome the change as they have to adapt to something new. So they may start telling themselves that the change will not be for the better or they may come up with other excuses. What is to be done is that we should adapt to the change and it is only when we underwent the change then can we judge the change. I think this point is a bit confusing at first but later I got what it means. If you do not get this point, try re-reading again.
Before Jeffery ended his talk, he mention something that spoke to me the most. Everyone have that something that is very precious to you. It will break your heart if you give it away. Would you be willing to give that something to God? Jeffery then gave us some time to think what is that thing we will offer to God. Till now, 1 week later I still did not get my answer. I shall continue to pray that God would show me the thing.
Enough is written about last sunday, now I will write about today's meaningful sermon that was spoken by God through the pastor's mouth. It is about Jonah the prophet. For the benefit of those who did not know the story, I shall give a brief outline of the story. Go grab the bible and read the book of Jonah to know the whole story.
God spoke to Jonah and gave him an instruction to go to the city of Nineveh and preach the gospel. Yet Jonah disobey the Lord. He ran to the other direction and went up the boat. God sent a violent storm. The people who was on the boat as well later found out that Jonah was the one who cause the storm. The storm was calmed when Jonah was thrown into the sea. After being swallowed by a fish, he finally obey the Lord instruction. I realise that it is very difficult to give an outline of this story so go to the following URL (just in case you do not have a bible) to read the whole story.

What I learn were:
1. The RESULT of disobeying.
2. The fact that our prayers are heard by the Lord immediately.
3. It matters when we fast for the Lord so as to seek Him.
4. The irony that the fish, the vine and worm can obey, yet we humans did not obey.
5. God's love and compassion is the same for all-- even if the person is a terrorist, a serial killer or even one we think that is beyond hope.
I guess that is about all. I apologise once again for my poor expression in my language, I sincerely hope that all who had read this learnt as much as I had from the two talks. May the Lord be with you.
