I'll find you. :) I am still here. Sandyz
from kitchenlogic :
Wordpress is really simple. You can do it!
from my5cents :
9-12-10.....so great to see a new posting...I got tired of FB after a few months and hardly check it at all except to see if bloggers like you have written there. I hope you will return to blogging more often. Good luck finding a house for your DAD....
from kitchenlogic :
Can't wait to see you!!!
from fightn4life :
I am so glad you have Fred...I love reading your diary, you are so happy. Enjoy-enjoy. :) Thanks for the inspiration. Sandyz
from my5cents :
It's lovely to read how happy you are these days.....you've come a very long way....LOL
from fightn4life :
Wow...I am so glad your grand child is doing OK. My heart almost stopped when I read about it. I will keep you and your family in my heart and prayers, Sandyz
from my5cents :
So glad your grand daughter has responded so well...and I agree about adult daycare for your Dad....My husband's uncle went to an adult daycare and enjoyed it very much even if he didn't remember what he did later on.
from my5cents :
have a wonderful time on your vacation. Strange how other people can't find the time to do things for your Dad as you do.
from fightn4life :
Wow, it has been a long time from my last post too. I read back through yours and I am so very sorry about your dad. Seems like the longer we live the more we have to go through...and so much for the heart to handle. My prayers are with you, Sandyz
from my5cents :
glad some kind of arrangements are being made...and hopefully your Dad will not forget that he agreed to all of this.
from yaketyyak :
That's so sad. I'm really sorry.
from greenwitch :
Oh, Diane I am so sorry you are going through all this. Alzheimer's is a cruel disease that not only ruins the reasoning powers of the person suffering from it but it assaults everything held dear by the family. I hope you can find some peace and joy over the holiday and things improve with the new year.
from casa-rosie :
What a wonderful day! You look absolutely beautiful, and I love the whole tie-dye/Grateful Dead theme! Here's wishing you many, many happy years together!
from greenwitch :
Your comments have gone missing so I will say Hi here. Good to see such a happy update... don't stay away so long, 'kay..
from my5cents :
It was great to see your blogname on my buddy list as newly updated. Sounds like you have been very busy and making lots of plans. Why would I be surprised at that? It's wonderful that you two are moving ahead and making it all legal...LOL

HAPPY HALLOWEEN
from whystinger :
Cool diary. Hope you enjoy the trip.
from capitolady :
Sorry haven't checked your diary in a while. My bad. You look like you had a ton of fun at the durby. Sorry to year about the young ones that died. I can't even fathom losing a child. No way no how. To just die in your car after work. weird.
from poolagirl :
I am in awe of your derby-ness. I work at an automotive museum and I wouldn't even try it. You rock!
from capitolady :
Glad your back! Missed ya, :)
from poolagirl :
Indeed, there have been train wrecks the last few weeks. The whole experience has been disheartening to say the least. My hell started when people I didn't even know blasted me in emails for my "allegiances" I never professed. It went down the tubes from there. I even considered closing down my diary and I stopped writing for a few days. I felt like someone had shaved my head for consorting with the enemy when I wasn't even fighting a war. The whole thing was just plain sad. *sigh* But I decided to keep writing and keep having fun with the absurdities of this world. As I stated a few entries ago, my journal is my heaven. It's a strange heaven, but it's mine. Thanks for being wise. There is a severe lack of wisdom in the world these days, and it's refreshing to run across it when we do. Blessings to you.
from capitolady :
Wow Lighthouses... Please Please Please share photos. I love lighthouses.
from basykes :
http://www.imaginemoorewinery.com/ is the web site of friends of mine who did what you're talking about in upstate New York; they might be able to offer pointers.
from capitolady :
Good idea for a business. Good luck
from lerin :
Thank you for your last note... I know you can understand, probably more than anyone else that I know!
from capitolady :
Wonderful pictures. Too bad for the vacation being over. I think I would have a hard time getting my hubby out of the house if we were that close to the water. He would probably have a perminate fishing pole out the window.
from boxx9000 :
THANK YOU for the post card from Niagra Falls. WhEee! That was such a sweet surprise in my mailboXx. THANKS!
from capitolady :
sorry forgot you have the radio.. :) my bad. Sounds like a great trip!
from capitolady :
Wow an EXCELLENT picture... and how cool the tracking thing is! How does that work? cool!!! I lived in NJ for 26 years and never once got to the Falls, I would just love to go. :)
from boxx9000 :
THANK YOU for your sweet note regarding my daughter and my grandBABY. I am sooOooOOo excited. re: weight loss. It has taken me one whole year to lose 40 pounds. That works out to an average of 3.3 pounds per month and I worked out like a maniac almost EVERY day of the last 365. Kelly's due date is December 6th. I CAN'T WAIT!
from yarnsmith :
I am in the weight loss game for the long haul too. I am losing ever so slowly but it has been coming off for a year now...I probably lose in a year what a serious dieter loses in 2 months but like you said...it just comes back. The way it is now...my weight no longer yo yo's...I may have days where I eat too much...even strings of days where I don't watch it so well and I never have big gains like when I went off a diet. Keep up the good work
from capitolady :
Congrats on the weight loss. It is funny how easy it can be to exercise and almost as easy to not. :) Nice Tat btw, you are alot braver than me!
from lerin :
Congrats on the weight loss! Adam and I are trying (AGAIN) to get in shape too.
from capitolady :
You are so Brave! Wonderful tat
from capitolady :
4-30-08 Gosh that bites the big one about the job. Not a whole lot you can do when the bosses daughter had so much pull. I feel for you though! hang in!
from capitolady :
LOVE>>>LOVE the new kitchen!!!
from capitolady :
The lift looks good! The boss sounds like he likes sales alot more than anything else. Gotta be fun being the go to gal.
from capitolady :
First of all Congrats on the new job! Way to go! Didn't take long to get back on your feet. The note that you got was so sad. I can see saying that to my daughter but what a magot he turned out to be! Shesh! I am glad you survived all that and I got to know you. How fun to get to start all over again.
from lerin :
I spent the morning catching up on your diary, since the babies were sleeping! :) Good luck today, I'll be thinking of you.
from yarnsmith :
I'm just catching up with you now...sorry to hear about the job. With your computer skills, could you maybe advertise in the classifieds to fix peoples home computer problems....I have always wanted to be my own boss...sucking up to a boss....well...it sucks. Then they have the power to hire or fire and sometimes it has nothing to do with the job you do...sometimes it's just them. When they let my husband go after 30 years...they had him work extra hard to do all kinds of things to set up for the days they didn't have him anymore...that sucks too. Sorry to hear you're back looking....but I'm a true believer that when a door closes, a window opens...perhaps you will end up in a better spot. Stay strong.
from capitolady :
Boy... Do I know how you feel! I have been in that position so much I think they named the spot in the cosmos after me. Now I have to sit in this office with morons with no education getting all giddy over where they are going to get drunk tonight. SIGH! I was also part of the women can't do it ... or if your female and in this spot you slept your way to it. All that doesn't matter when you move somewhere and start over at the bottom. I am getting way too old for it myself but sometimes ya gotta do what ya gotta do... :) And go to your happy place. At least Fred is there for you and your cyber friends. ;) Hang in Sister!
from capitolady :
That really stinks. That is the worst thing that can happen. I am glad you have Fred! I have been there. That is what scares me about trying to get a "better job" at least here I know unless I do something really drastic I'm in. Hang in there!
from lerin :
I'm sorry for all the family drama! XOX
from capitolady :
Wow What a mess with Daughter. I hope it is all working out ok for her. That is really scarry!!! wow. Glad your eyes and head are back to normal too. Can't wait to see the pictures.
from capitolady :
Best wishes with the surgery. :)
from capitolady :
WOWWWWWW!!! Love those cabinets. Worth all the hastle no? Cute doggy, but I am partical to my Raven. :)
from fightn4life :
Different is right, I too like it once I got over the shock. Now I need to work on a new page for me. My old one just doesn't feel right any more. Sandyz
from life-my-way :
To fill my dish soap dispenser (which does, in fact, take one more thing off the counter) is easy to fill. the pump lifts right up to reveal a reservoir that i just squirt the soap into.
from capitolady :
Congrats on the remodel almost being done! What a relief that will be. I want to see pics when it is done!
from fightn4life :
There are days I too get fearful of getting older. They say growing old is not for sissies. Then again, there are days I am grateful for all the roads I have walked and look forward to leaving new footprints in my tomorrows. Happy Birthday to your mom, I am blessed my mom is still with us too, grandma left years ago, but she stayed around for over 90 years. Take care and I am right there with you being sick of fast food and crappy TV dinners. Time for change. Sandyz
from capitolady :
Congrats!! I wanta see pictures. Boy do I understand the first house thing "the American dream" you said a mouth full there. :)
from annanotbob :
Haloscan seems to be playing up (not just on yours), so maybe this is posted there already. I wanted to say YAY!! Hurrah for your new kitchen. It sounds great - I can't wait to see pics xxx

Wow! How true! Bravo!

Ocean love... Ya I miss the Ocean so very very (add as many verys as you can) much!!! I grew up in Jersey and miss the shore very (again insert tons of verys) much! So I agree it is wonderful to share that love!
from capitolady :
All that snow sure stinks to have to drive. We haven't gotten much and I live in snow land supposedly. Congrats to the Patriots, my Giants will see you in the superbowl :)

Here is the link for the EATING RIGHT brand, it's from Safeway. http://eatingright.safeway.com/ (I had sent it to h2ophobic on accident)

Ya, Do I ever understand how hard it can be to have to sit for 8 hours!!! That is the biggest gripe I got about my current job. Congrats on the new job
from shot-of-tea :
Hello :) This will probably seem quite strange, but I see you have duchessmoon on your buddy list and I was wondering if you could possibly provide me with her password (if you ask her first of course) as I would like to send her a message but haven't got any other way of doing so. Thank you if you can help.
from fightn4life :
Sorry I had you all worried and such, my life took another downswing and I have just been holding on. Thanks for thinking of me and caring. I was concerned about writing more negative stuff, then I remembered bad or good, it's my life, Sandyz
from fightn4life :
I loved the idea of cutting the gold thread; I need to cut something I feel I am still so very attached. I too lucked out by bring a smile, sweet potatoes, and two pies. Yeah not having to do it all, my daughter took care of it. Sandyz

from boxx9000 :
just a clarification. My son's birthday is 11-23-82, he's a Sagittarius.
from capitolady :
Love the costumes. :) The girl with the sad look on her face reminds me of my 13 year old daughter. I see that contempt look all the time. :(
from capitolady :
I suppose the furniture store is now bankrupt. :)
from capitolady :
What a cool poem.
from annanotbob :
I'm much the same - reading but not commenting much. I am SO jealous about Michael Franti - That 'I'm not alone' is permanently playing in my car. Glad you and Fred are so good and that your dad's past the worst. Love xx
from junkmel1 :
I've been in lurker mode for a while, and haven't commented in quite some time. I just had to say, though, that your dad sounds like quite the character. I'm sorry that he's giving you and your siblings a hard time in trying to take care of him, but from a reader's perspective, he sounds like a true survivor. You must have received some of that same grit from him, dealing with everything you have been through as well. And I wanted to say I'm still loving reading how happy you are now, as well as I thoroughly enjoyed your vacation posts, too. Slinking back off to lurker land now...:)
from fightn4life :
"I guess when you marry someone and invest that much of yourself in someone over 25 years you kind of expect that its reciprocal, but thats a bad assumption." Good Lord I felt that also, that is why I am right where I am today and learning so much about myself along the way. How sad when we love and believe all the crap from a "users" mouth, yet some how we blind ourselves from the truth. You are such a kind loving person even after so much heart break. Thank God you have found someone that loves back instead of bleeding your heart. Still you have not hardened your heart bit chose instead to be kind but guard yourself. I hope I can draw from your inspiration as my journey continues. I want that balance, still being kind but cautious. Sandyz
from annanotbob :
Glad things with your dad seem more hopeful xx
from fightn4life :
Opps sorry, I must be tired, takes "heed" forgive me, Sandyz
from fightn4life :
I smiled for your dad, for youprayers were answered. Now if he "gets" this as a wake up call. I am so sorry this has pained you so much, no fears were unfounded he has another chance, I pray he takes head to it. Sandyz
from fightn4life :
I read your diary and am thrilled you have found happiness. I hope people that read about my world will not fall away when, (I said "when"not "if") I find life in a brighter light. No fights from your siblings but I agree with your concerns 100%...you don't put someone out to pasture while they still have a zest for life in the norm. Some people taken out of their environment will lose the will to live having people try to control their lives. I pray you find a way to keep your dad from becoming a prisoner long before he is in need of assisted living arrangements. Hopefully never. My heart is with you, Sandyz
from annanotbob :
My heart goes out to you, Diane, and to your dad. I hope this gets resolved as peacefully as possible. Hugs xx
from yarnsmith :
Hi, just surfing around looking for other 50 somethings to read. I had a diary at dairyland but not it gets forwarded to my new home at snicker-snak.blogspot.com. Looking forward to reading more. Paula

Happy birthday to YOU! xox
from annanotbob :
Happy Birthday!!!! love Anna xxx
from capitolady :
So, sorry for all you are going through with your daughter. I feel for you. ((((HUGS))))
from fightn4life :
It is hard not to be accepted, I understand and my heart goes out to you. I feel they are the ones missing out, don't worry about your daughter as they grow up opinions override anything they go through during their young lives. Your daughter is bright she will see the 'truth" one day without you ever having to sy a word. Glad you had an awesome time in spite of the beginning. Sandyz
from capitolady :
Hi, just surfing by to say HI! so HI! :)
from la-the-sage :
Yes, can't wait to see you! Tuesday is a go. And sweetie? LA IS my name. I hide in plain sight, heh heh heh. ~LA
from annanotbob :
I've just spotted my last note - will post dragon pics later! Renny is an Irish version of the name and is male, the female is Renee I think. He was named by his father, after a Venezuelan revolutionary, Reny Otolina. Thanks for your words of encouragement. I do feel it will all come good in the end - it's just getting through this bit. Glad you liked the clip - it amazes me that anyone can be so riude and keep a straight face. Lots of love Anna xxx
from annanotbob :
I shall take pics of dragons for you at the festival! I'm surprised that you say you're not good at engines and things - I always imagine you as having a good practical streak. A dual carriageway is where there are two lanes each side of a central barrier, so you can overtake without worrying about oncoming traffic. I guess it does sound odd - you stop hearing the 'carriage' part somehow. And, oh that I was saying goodbye to Sara - it was just a day and she was back by five moaning for her dinner. The course starts properly in September. I'm glad things are going well for you - you truly deserve it xxx
from angel-scar :
Hey I really like your diary page it's awsome i'm like a huge dragon finatic lol I saw your pic of your flowers i wish i could grow flowers like that can't really where i'm living 'cause i live on the top floor of an appartment building. Anyways take care and have fun with your diary!! :P Cheers
from annanotbob :
I know just what you mean. I started a wordpress blog yesterday, just to see if there was some big feature I was missing out on, but if it's there I can't see what it is. I like the pink bits here, especially when I'm being neurotic - I could imagine clicking down my blogroll list endlessly to see if anyone's updated xxx
from lerin :
I never knew his name. Justin and I would be about the same age. I'm sorry you've gone through so much, but I'm really impressed by the person you are because of it. ((HUGS))
from annanotbob :
Have a great time!!
from lerin :
A million, million thanks! I almost cried when I read that you'd renewed my SuperGold for me. I really appreciate it. Thanks from the bottom of my heart! And I'm still thrilled for you... away from all the drama and enjoying the affection of a real man!

from annanotbob :
Thanks for the tip about adding clips. I hate sleeping in the same bed as anyone, but I fidget a lot, like to smoke last thing and first thing and read myself to sleep, so I'm not much of a sleeping companion anyway!!
from annanotbob :
Oh no - I've missed nearly all of American Idol this season - I shall start watching from Sunday! Thanks for your comments and kindness. Hope you and Fred can get all snuggled up again soon xxx
from boxx9000 :
I am # 4 of 6 kids. (one is deceased) I'm 51, my sister is 57. I have an older brother who is 59 and two younger brothers ages 49 and 47. HOW in the hell did we get so old? YIKES! I don't feel older than 33. hehehehehe. Both my parents died at 70, so I have at least 20 years left.
from brightopal :
Interesting commentary on Malcolm X. I haven't read the book but would love to do so. Thank you for your comment on my diary. I agree with you on one point: that the stations employing Imus share the blame (to say the least,) particularly since bigotry, sexism and offense has been the basis of his show since its inception.
from lerin :
Let me tell you a tip from an English major to remember the its vs it's rule... His and her don't have apostrophes, so neither does its. Don't and Can't have them because a letter and space is left out, so it's for "it is" does as well. I usually have to talk it out to myself. ;) Oh, and not to offend your wcommenter... but I hate having my grammar corrected in my diary. It's not a research paper... it's a hurried acount of my thoughts and I don't always want to proofread!
from boxx9000 :
Malcolm X was educated thru the prison system! Have you ever seen the movie? It is great. NOT only Muslims are violent. The crusades? sheesh. A fanatic is a fanatic no matter WHAT religion. Research CONTELPRO. Our own government targeted black citizens to assassinate and destroy. Malcolm X was a man of belief. He was tired of the way black people were tretaed in this country and he said, NO MORE! He wanted what was rightfully his NOW as a U.S. citizen. The black panthers and the whole black power movement was the BEST thing that could have happened to black people in this country. There hasn't been another movement since. Our government did a good job of squashing it and keeping them *in their place.* I hope you enjoy the book and become elightened about the true message of Malcolm X. It was one of equality for all.
from lerin :
I absolutely HATE that "off" feeling, the uncertainty of knowing something is wrong but unable to figure out exactly what. Hope things get back to normal very soon!
from lerin :
Enjoy the movie! :)
from lerin :
You rich bitch, lol. :)~
from lerin :
Well, then here is an "official" congratulations! You deserve him. :) I can't wait to see a picture.
from annanotbob :
Thanks Diane. I read your diary entry before I saw the comment and I was feeling inspired by what you said on your page. We never know what's around the corner. I do feel optimistic about the future a lot of the time. This is just a transition and it will pass. Congratulations on your engagement - you deserve all the good things in life, especially the love of a good man and that Fred sounds a sweetie! xxx

What a pretty layout! I'm glad you are writing publicly again. I keep agonizing over whether to pack up and start over myself. :)
