I was once a very devoted submissive-- way before this diary even existed. I wouldn't say I've given up the lifestyle. That wouldn't be fair. I feel that who is am is always with me and I could never totally leave that part of me behind. Rather, I stopped looking for the fantasy and started looking for the real thing-- a man who truly loves and appreciates me in all things. I know with the CPS Child Protective Services here in the states, the social workers are very overworked and there isn't enough homes for the children that need it, so in many cases the children are left in home or court ordered back home. Three of my very close friends are foster parents. I plan to be one later on in life. I was a foster child myself so i know the system well.

I can see why you feel the way you do at this moment. It's not the normal way you go about collaring someone but remind yourself, in a way Jason was sort of your sub. He was apart of your life and D's life. It's not like you just plucked two strangers and invited them into your home and said, "here take the bloody collar or out" It was different the situation was different and now you are a poly domme. With this you will have more issues than you had before. There will be a lot of trasition time but just make sure to keep that communication going with D and about how you are both feeling. Of course it becaue it gets unbearably hot here in the summer time we come up with all sorts of ways to cool ourselves off. You are correct about most places in America that don't take pride in their native history. There is a deep racisim here. Sometimes you can see it very clearly but most of the time you don't see it as clearly. There is undercurrents of it and it really is sad. Yes, in the deep south where you visited, they wouldn't take too much pride in it. If you head over to Texas and such you will see reservations and poor poor poor living conditions. Even here you can see some poor conditions. If you want to see a lot of pride in Native American pride you should've came here to the Olympic Peninsula or to Alaska. Here we have the Makah Tribe. "We call ourselves 'Kwih-dich-chuh-ahtx' or 'people who live by the rocks and seagulls'. The name 'Makah', which was given to us by our neighboring tribes, means 'Generous with food'." They are the only tribe to continue whale hunting and every summer they have Makah Days. Actually, I'm doing childcare for a college class called Native American Literacy and it's a popular subject for family literacy. I guess it depends where you go and what each community lets you see but I feel where I live I have it all around me. Still some people are very racist, which is sad but I guess every town has to have hicks in it. Also Canada is pretty pridefull with their First Nation. Pretty much I grew up with this all around me but it's pretty neat to step back and take a look at it. You should see the art. amazing stuff and totem poles all over the place.
