it's nothing much. i was walking back home at night after i was out taking some photos, and i went to cross the road. a car stopped and waited, but when i started crossing, the girl drove at me and nearly knocked me down. she must have lost her nerve because she swerved and i managed to get out of the way. as she went by, she rolled her window down and shouted something like "you should be ashamed". i suppose it's because my hair isn't blonde and i don't wear cheap gold earrings or a nike tracksuit. i obviously look like a complete freak to everyone else. i didn't write an entry about it in my diary though. how did you know they were in a car? all i wrote was that somebody tried to kill me.

jusr wanted to say that i totally agree with the whole frog issue. in southern csalifornia we are built on a huge ant mound and our homes are completely infested in the summer. i wish someone cared as much about our ant problem as you do for the frog problem. much love. take care.

Not warm? It's boiling here. If you think the frogs are annoying trust me, you haven't seen mosquitoes, ladybugs, boxelder bugs, and ant invade your home year round. Minnesota is no paradise because of it. But I can tell you one thing, and that is just like all the bugs, the frogs will go away. It's all seasonal, and you are taking it to a new level. Get a life and help people who have real problems.

while i agree that the coqui could very well be a menace and a danger, such as the caine toad was to aussie-land, i do not agree with using in-humane methods to get rid of them. i do see where they could be a threat to natural resources in Hawaii, and i understand why some would find their song annoying. i personally love the song of the coqui - it is quite beautiful. i feel some of the 'facts' are mis-represented or over-exaggerated on both sides of this 'war'. but nevertheless, i agree that the frogs are a potentially devestating problem to Hawaii's natural ecosystem. i hope fervently that a humane way to control the frogs is found, one that does not destroy foilage and non-threat critters. i have to say that in my bi-yearly visits to Hawaii's beautiful islands that i have never been disturbed by the song of the coqui, that doesn't mean that some aren't, just that i am not. i envy you, i wish i lived in Hawaii myself. good luck in your campain, i hope the frogs can be controlled, but i hope a humane way to control them is found and i hope that little bugger who is seeding the islands with frogs gets caught in the act and arrested.

I just clicked on the banner about the invasion of the frogs. That really is scary. However I feel sorry for not only the hawaiians, but also the frogs. Its awful that so many frogs have to die, because 2 meddling assholes had to encourage their overpopulation and send them to their doom in the wrong environment. The same thing happened in Australia with rabbits. Someone brought rabbits to there for some reason, and there were not enough predators to kill them and they became out of control pests like the frogs. It made me sad to see the pictures of all the dead rabbits that they ended up setting a virus loose on. It had to be done, but it could have been prevented if people did not meddle with nature.
