CONGRATS!!!!
from manda-d :
WOW! Congratulations!
from babicharmz :
Hi! I want your myspace info! mines http://www.myspace.com/starwithnolight :)
from marlen816 :
Hey Girl! Do you still update here? I'd love to hear about Marlee and see some recent pictures.
from niblet6-04 :
Hey! I used to read your diary all the time. I just checked in after not reading for a year and I have one complaint! Where are all the recent MArlee pics? I want to see how big she has gotten!
from manda-d :
Poor baby... Dumb allergies.
from manda-d :
12/3-No, it doesn't ever wear off. My kids are 6 and 8. I still watch them sleeping, check their breathing, brush their hair out of their faces... And it still moves me that these two little people are part of me. Isn't being a mother more than you ever thought it would be?
from marlen816 :
I'll be praying for Marlee - for her rash to heal! Poor baby!
from redshoegirl :
she is sooo lovely Sam!!
from manda-d :
Marlee is just beautiful. About the diaper rash, don't beat yourself up. It's not your fault. BUT, try this stuff http://www.resinol.com/ It will work, I will guarantee it!
from marlen816 :
Happy Belated 1st Birthday Marlee!!
from cosmicirony :
What's the best way to discipline a toddler?
from marlen816 :
Cute pictures of Marlee! She is getting so big. I love the one of her funny face. Great job, Mom!
from angellivia :
I say go for it as long as you can. My childminder has nursed all her children for as long as she can and they want it and they're probably the most well adjusted children I know. Stick with it!
from marlen816 :
Kari had that same bathing suit with the grass skirt! What a cutie Marlee is!
from ray0flight :
shes beautyful
from niblet6-04 :
You better put your foot down now before it is too late, JMO!
from boogiebeep :
Hi Sam, I've followed your story since you were pregnant and I cant believe Marlee is 8 months old you must be lying! Has time really gone that fast? Having said that it just s eems like yesterday that I was pregnant and my baby will be 8 weeks old in 2 days, she is gorwing so fast. I was breastfeeding and bottlefeeding her too, but recently i had to go to hospital for gallstones so that meant I was only getting to nurse her once a day, my milk supply lessened, I take medication for my gallstones if I have pain and so i decuded to stop nursing. Leeara seems more settled and content on the bottle and she sleeps (most of the time) all through the night For example 10pm-7am, or 6-7pm-3-4am, I think formula stays in there tummy longer and breastmilk is more easily digested, you could try giving her a bottle of formula as her last feed at night, that might worked. Hope I helped love amberlee
from ray0flight :
Oh my gosh! 2 updates in one month! This is heaven!! Hehe. I hope marlee doesn't get sick too. I will keep my fingers crossed for you
from ray0flight :
Ahhh Ahhh Ahhh! What a lovely update! I feel somewhat caught up - you said you had so much more so does that mean we get another one tomorrow!! *dares to dream* hehe. I lovie my sams updates :) I can't believe how OLD Marlee sounds now... like A real LIVE person (not that she wasn't before) ;)
from ray0flight :
Dude. It's been 35 days since the last update.... WHERE ARE YOU!?! And you never came back to me on MSN the other day. I miss our chats *tear*
from hi2003 :
hows breast feeding?
from drivenbyl0ve :
Hey- where are you? I miss your updates! Hope all is well. :)
from marlen816 :
What a cute baby! Marlee looks just like you, Sam!
from niblet6-04 :
There's a good book called Super Baby Food by Ruth Yaron. I highly reccommend it if you want to get away from the baby food in jars! It is excellent!
from marlen816 :
Sounds like Marlee is doing great. I can't believe she is already 5 months old. Seems like just a bit ago we were waiting for her arrival. You're doing a great job, Mom!
from judybean :
cute, cute, cute!!! *love* those shoes!
from erinandme :
PS my email is [email protected] Can't wait to chat with you!
from erinandme :
Sam, I would love to chat with you regarding your daughter. What your going through seems so much like what I went through with my daughter and I would love to share.
from sillyme00 :
Oh my goodness, I love those cheeks! She is so darn cute and I just want to squeeze her.
from manda-d :
Awww! She is so cute, I just wanna squeeze those chubby, little cheeks!
from soon2bmomof2 :
wow! i can't believe she's already 16 weeks!!! time has been flying by
from ray0flight :
OK I think I am losing it. I see the same entry with different titles for the 9th and the 7th
from sheepdip :
What a GORGEOUS photo of Marlee!!! She really is soooo cute. I'm so jealous! ;)
from manthyj :
Hi Sam, My son was attached to his pacifier too, but i took it away from him and within 2 days he found his fingers so if you hang tight for a couple of days she will find her fingers if she need soothing....good luck... Samantha
from drivenbyl0ve :
I didn't even recognize her! She's way too cute! How big. She's growing too fast. :(
from sillyme00 :
Marlee is too adorable and she is getting so big!!
from linnyeg :
She's beautiful. Such amazing eyes!
from byfirstlight :
Have you tried taking a bath with her? I had to do that with Isabella. She hated baths when she was Marlee's age and younger, and once I started getting in the tub with her, she was fine and loved baths.
from marlen816 :
Hi! Waiting to hear all about Marlee's first Christmas - and there will be pictures, right?
from ray0flight :
Merry Christmas!
from boogiebeep :
hi sam, marlee sure is one gorgeous lil girl. I have a question for you, I have high blood sugar, my doctor rang today to tell me, could you tell me a bit about it? I know you had a lot of problems with your sugar levels... thank-you
from inmythirties :
She's beautiful!
from jasse :
awww is she a sweetheart!!! and the clothes are super cute too :) beautiful picture
from machogirl7 :
OH! She's so beautiful. Honestly. I want her. What a precious baby, Sam! Aww.
from machogirl7 :
Oh, Sam. It's okay. It's not like you could really do anything more than you did. You are not an awful mother. Not at all. You could have left her in her crib and just let her cry and cry and cry, but instead, you comforted her, and tried to male it better. I think you are an awesome momma.
from machogirl7 :
Aww. Poor baby. I'm so sorry that she's been sick. It really makes me sad. :(
from byfirstlight :
We still haven't baptized Isabella. I'm so not looking forward to it, because there will be a big fight between the in-laws over which church to do it at since we don't belong to one, and I just do not want to deal with it.
from sillyme00 :
Marlee looks so precious. My favorite family picture is the one with the white background.
from angellivia :
She's beautiful! She looks adorable in all those outfits, especially the red dress - that is gorgeous on her! Liv xx
from linnyeg :
Wow the last picture is my favourite. You guys look amazing.
from marlen816 :
The pictures are great! What a beautiful family!
from jasse :
the pix are so cute :) beautiful baby
from manda-d :
Aww!
from machogirl7 :
Aww. She's so cute, and you guys all look wonderful together as a family. Great pics!
from smplycontent :
::laughs:: shes so cute! she has the same expression on in each picture, hehe.
from ray0flight :
Ahhh so cute! My fave is the picture at the bottom... she's adorable and you make a beautiful family.
from byfirstlight :
Awwww. Cute!
from machogirl7 :
Aww. It makes my heart melt the love you have for her, Sam. I can't wait until I'm settled with a baby. :) I hope you guys feel better soon. And I wouldn't feel guilty about sending her to daycare. They were already exposed, right? ((hugs))
from manda-d :
Oh, there is NO way you could keep her home every time she has a cold. Children who are in day care (or school) keep a runny nose! If she is too sick to be there, believe me they will let you know (as they should).
from sillyme00 :
I think that it is ok to take a child that has a cold to daycare. As long as the child is not miserable. I always tell my daughter's teacher that if she is miserable or if she gets worse to call me and I will come and get her. but Marlee will be fine if she is still in good spirits. I call the daycare throughout the day too to check up on Liv.
from smplycontent :
Marlee is gorgeous! I've been reading you for a while now; this is the first time I've left you a note though. I hope you both feel better! ::hugs::
from seventigers :
Congrats on the new-ish baby. Loved the diary. My husband and I have been trying to get pregnant for a while now--many, many obstacles are in the way. We're hoping for some sort of luck soon.
from judybean :
About the bm thing with bf infants... I've heard it can be a while too between bms because breast milk is The Ideal food. It's as close to perfect as it gets so all the nutrients and such are used up and not much is left over to get rid of. Good luck!
from ray0flight :
cute little design you got here. I like it! Feel better soon :)
from machogirl7 :
I LOVE the new look! I'm so glad everything's going well for you. :)
from azrialla :
I love the new layout!!
from byfirstlight :
Testing. I'm fixing your notes form. You can delete me.
from bytwilight :
I felt the same way last year when I had to send Isabella to daycare. How is it going so far?
from ilona719 :
don't feel bad. there are tons of working mothers out there who probally do it everyday. you're not alone. not all of us have the luxury or the finances to be able to stay home with our children. i'm going to feel bad about putting our new baby in daycare too. by then s/he will be around 4 months, and i still feel bad. hang in there, she'll be fine :)
from sillyme00 :
It is going to be hard to leave her, I know I have been through it and I still have hard times and she is 2. She will learn lots of new things and they will take wonderful care of her. She will make projects when she gets older and the wonderful thing about it is that you get to show her off to other parents. I call everyday to see how my daughter is doing. Is she going to be in an in-home or a center?
from ray0flight :
Babe it is SO ok to put Marlee. *hugs* I know you are gonna miss her but it's ok... it will get better i promise.
from machogirl7 :
Aww. ((hugs)) It will be okay.
from marlen816 :
It is okay that you will be putting Marlee in daycare. It is not what you want to do, but what you have to do right now. Maybe things will change soon, but do not feel guilty about it. You are a great Mom and are not doing anything wrong by putting Marlee in daycare. Don't be so hard on yourself. I had to do it with my firstborn, too and he survived. =)
from machogirl7 :
I hope that works great for you! I miss the pictures... she's such a cutie! Oh, and we should talk scrapbooking. I work in a scrapbooking/office supply/R@dioshack (all in one!) and I love to scrapbook!
from marlen816 :
Skip the other stuff and go scrapbooking! You deserve it!
from redshoegirl :
Might she have colic? It sounds a lot like my mum's stories of when I had colic, lots of screaming and lots of farting!
from redshoegirl :
She is so beautiful! Crazy Tim putting her in the laundry basket. Guess when she talks she'll have some interesting stuff to say after all that intellectual TV
from byfirstlight :
The laundry basket? That is too funny. And cute. By the way, I need names help. Help?
from marlen816 :
Marlee looks so cute in the clothes basket. I can't believe how big she is getting!
from twisted-mind :
Your sweet little bunny looks so cute. Perfect little nose and whiskers too. What an angel.
from marlen816 :
She is just the cutest!!
from inmythirties :
She is so adorable in that bunny outfit!!
from azrialla :
Marlee looks soooo cute!
from ladygoodman :
she is SO cute. i love her chubby cheeks!
from bytwilight :
Oh she looks adorable!
from marlen816 :
Too cute!!
from startin-over :
Have a safe and happy Halloween!
from liebstar :
Don't know if this could ne of some help, but I had a friend who went through the same issue with her baby and doctors assured her everything will be ok within two years. Meanwhile the baby's under medication but she's getting better and better. Good luck and BTW, Marlee is a real doll!!
from twisted-mind :
hi thanks for adding me to your favorites. The pictures you posted of you and Marlee are beautiful. She is so very cute and you are very pretty. Sorry about the annoying person in your guestbook. Take care and thanks again
from startin-over :
Oh my goodness, what a little doll. Marlee looks so cute all decked out in her Halloween attire and all. What a cutie pie!
from marlen816 :
Cute pics of Marlee. I love the headband.
from marlen816 :
Yes, you should definitely get bonus points for calling the ex Medusa. I actually had some other names to call her, but I wanted to keep the quiz PG. LOL
from babicharmz :
Wow! I can't believe she is a month old already!
from startin-over :
I've been reading your diary since May. Marlee is such a cutie pie. I love reading your updates. Congrats (a lil late) on your angel baby, and motherhood. I hope you don't mind my adding you to my buddylist. Chantele
from marlen816 :
Sounds like it has been one great month! I get tears in my eyes when I read about Marlee - she is such a miracle baby. A true little angel!
from marlen816 :
Glad she slept better - wish you could have! I remember doing that with Kari, too. She'd sleep and I'd lay awake listening for her to wake up! Motherhood is crazy!
from linnyeg :
wow 4 weeks already... time flies. Glad she's sleeping better!
from marlen816 :
She is soooo beautiful!
from me-undaunted :
i'm totally empathizing with you right now. kira was the fussiest of my three kids. it really frustrated me for the first six or seven months of her life, but things got a little easier when she started walking and getting around on her own a few months ago. that carrying her around thing all day long was for the birds! hopefully, marlee will be a routine-oriented baby so you'll know more what to expect from her and it'll be easier to keep her happy. :o) that's a pretty name, btw.
from ray0flight :
Yay for healthy (if not colicy) babies! I had thrush last year.. it didn't hurt it was just sick. I know for adults there's a rinse that can be used but I don't know if theres anything for babies
from sillyme00 :
I do live in Wisconsin and I don't think that it is far from you. I have some girl clothes, even though I am sure that you don't need them. If you are interested, email me. I was the kind of mom that didn't want my first to have hand-me-downs so I won't be offended if you aren't interested. Just thought that I would let you know that I have a bunch of girl clothes, just in case you are interested. :-)
from pregornot :
I WAS wearing breast pads...that's how much friggen milk came out. I have almost bought stock in breast pads...
from da-mad-girl :
you need to go to target or someplace and get yourself NURSING PADS! they don't look all that great under shirts, but they save your having to change a shirt every 5 minutes. You'll probably need them for about 3 months or so.. they're in the baby isle, by bottles, and other nursing stuff. I prefer the Johnson and Johnson kind. They have one that's a 36 pack, with 3 lines going out from the center (more expensive than the 50 pack with "contoured" pads, because they're more absorbent, and you'll need less). I highly suggest buying them ASAP! (or whatever kind you want to try. Avent sells them with adhesive strips on the back to stick to your bra. Anyway, really girl. There's no reason to have to leak all over. ;)
from azrialla :
Congrats on Marlee! Shes beautiful :) I also have serve endo and was lucky enough to fall pregnant naturally (although it was after surgery). Ive looked at all your pictures, and shes perfect! Well done Sam and Tim
from judybean :
9/25: Gorgeous baby (of course)! I'm so glad the days seem to be going pretty well. I can't wait to read about your journey through motherhood now. God Bless you, Marlee and Tim!
from soon2bmomof2 :
aww that sucks that you were "drugged" and don't remember too much, but once again congrats. great story ~ilona
from judybean :
Beautiful, beautiful story!! Hooray for your FAMILY.
from ladygoodman :
aww, the end of your story made me cry. congratulations!
from marlen816 :
Marlee's birth story made me cry and almost made me want to have another one =) I am so happy that you were able to go natural and I am in agreement with you - getting stitched is the worst part! You and Tim have a beautiful daughter! What a little blessing and miracle! ((Hugs))
from fireflyez76 :
You're birth is amazing, and I have tears in my eyes from reading it. Thanks for sharing something so intimate with your fans :)
from angelsmomi :

from marlen816 :
Congratulations!! Welcome to the world Marlee Nicole! We have been waiting for you! You have got one great Mama!
from why-i-love :
Congratulations guys! I can't wait to see her!
from byfirstlight :
Tim and Sam are proud to announce the birth of their daughter Marlee Nicole born September 18, 2003 at 4:56 pm weighing 8lbs. and 2oz. 20 inches long
from darkangel :
I don't know what you email addy is, but I just wanted to say I hope you are holding you baby by now!!! Congrats.
from bytwilight :
Oh, and if looks mean anything to you, Luvs uses BARNEY for the artwork. Pampers uses Sesame Street, White Cloud uses John Lennon, Dri-Bottoms has Suzy's Zoo, I think, and I don't know about any other brands. And is she born yet? Because I'm going nuts waiting!!!
from bytwilight :
I HATE Luvs. They always leaked with Isabella. Pampers are my favorites. I loved the swaddlers when she was little, and then we went to the cruisers, and they're seriously the best diapers out there. I've tried the White Cloud ones from Walmart as well. They haven't leaked, but they just aren't as nice as pampers. They don't have the nice stretchy sides, but they do have cute artwork by John Lennon on them. Huggies are okay if you get the Supreme ones. I don't like regular huggies, though, because I had far too many blowouts with them when she was a newborn. And cleaning up tons of little curd turds is not fun.
from marlen816 :
WooHoo!! So excited to hear you're in labor!! Waiting to hear more news.....And by the way, I have used LUVS for 15+ months and never had a leak!! They ROCK!!
from me-undaunted :
"Luvs...they almost always LEAK..." it's late and I can't think :o)
from me-undaunted :
Congratulations! Wow, has it been nine months already? I lost track of you somehow and now I'll have to add you back to my buddy list to keep up with ya. :o) About the diapers...it's been my experience with all three of my children that if you can afford it, Pampers is best. Huggies works fine too. NEVER buy Luvs...they almost always whether or not the diaper is soaked. On the other hand, if you're a budget conscious type like myself, then Dri-Bottoms or White Cloud at Walmart work just as great as Pampers and Huggies, though they're a whopping $4.00-$5.00 cheaper. Hope that helps. :o)
from ray0flight :
Oh it's 11.58pm - just wanted to let you know i am thinking about you and hope all is going well! it was so nice to chat to you today
from ladygoodman :
yay! good luck! so exciting! xo
from trinity63 :
having been through 9 miscarriages, I can empathize with you. Here is wishing you a healthy, happy, productive labor and lovely delivery:)
from tearstream :
Oh How exciting! I'll be keeping you in my thoughts and prayers that L&D go smoothly for you and that sweet little girl of yours!
from babicharmz :
Yaayy!! I'm glad you're finally hvaing her! I can't wait to see your little bundle of joy!
from pixiedust182 :
Sam!! I have been reading your diary for 3 months now, and I am SO excited to see that the baby is finally coming! Good luck with everything, I can't wait to read about it and see pictures of her!
from sillyme00 :
OH MY GOD!!! I am so excited, I am so happy for you and good luck and it is all worth it. I can't wait to hear.
from judybean :
OH MY GOODNESS!!! Hooray! I'm sooooo excited for you! I'm sending fast, easy labor vibes your way so Marlee pops out safe, sound, healty and fast! Gooooo Sam!
from byfirstlight :
OH MY GOD!!!! I am so excited right now!! I was so shocked to get your comment. I even called Adam and I was like SAM'S IN LABOR!!!! And he was like, "um, who?...okay, great" - YAY! You are having this baby and your labor will be easy damn it! Because I'm sending you Good labor vibes ~~~~~~~~~ telepathically of course. I'M SO EXCITED!!!
from maiarayne :
I'm sending you progressive labor vibes! You know the labor that actually gets the baby out and doesn't tease you any. I just started reading your journal 2 days ago and I'm on pins and needles already for you to have the baby! Take care hon and let us know as soon as you have the little one!
from byfirstlight :
Do NOT do nipple stimulation. DON'T DO IT. It should only be done under the supervision of a professional - doctor, nurse, midwife, etc. You can actually release TOO much oxytocin, and cause serious complications. I know some websites mention it because it *can* work, but you need to be under professional supervision to truly do it safely. This isn't on the same level as the Castor Oil. I say don't do that because you'll be miserable on a pooping and puking level - that's not going to endanger your or the baby like nipple stimulation can.
from imnotblind :
Have you tried nipple stimulation?
from fireflyez76 :
I know that my words aren't going to help the misery and anxiousness you feel. But I'm keeping my fingers crossed and sending out ((((labor vibes)))) in your direction! Castor oil can be dangerous I've heard, but I know what it's like to be so uncomfortable, with a huge belly in the way (3wks overdue with a 9lb baby!) I used the evening primrose too, but put it up against my cervix. Hang in there... I hope your Dr has some encouraging news for you! *HUGS* -Jamie
from angellivia :
I check your diary first off my buddy list everyday just in case! Hang in there and she'll come when she's ready. She'll be totally worth the wait. Liv xx
from ray0flight :
I know this is easy for me to say BUT keep your chin up sweetie your so close to the end now.
from byfirstlight :
But seriously. I feel your pain.
from byfirstlight :
Walks by. *STARES*. Walks away. hahahahah!!!
from marlen816 :
Hang in there, Sam! I know that soon your update will say, Be Back with a Baby! ((Hugs)) and prayers!!
from byfirstlight :
Ooh, I'm getting all excited. I want an email in the morning saying "going to the hospital!". Yes, I know. Wishful thinking, but my fingers are crossed!!!
from ray0flight :
hey - my mom says to get down on your hands and knees and scrub a floor. apparently that brings labour on every time (of course - i don't know what she's basing that on)
from judybean :
9/12: Really I am loving your short-but-sweet entries. They nearly always crack me up! Baby dancing (that's the public kind, not the private kind!) at work cracks me up, but really? if it works, keep it up! Go Marlee! Go Sam!
from alicesbaby :
Wayhey I finally found a place to leave you a message!!! (took me a while!) Yay for that plug disappearing!!! :) Go Marlee! I am checking your diary allll day long Sam! And thanks so much for the lovely guestbook entry you left me recently. I really needed to hear a lot of what you said and I appreciate it so much :) xxx
from sillyme00 :
The way you are feeling is normal and it just means that it is coming really soon. Thinking of you
from ray0flight :
Oh you sound so sad... I am sorry things are kinda sucking... you are at the end she will be here soon!
from byfirstlight :
Yay! You lost the mucus plug!! Sadly, it doesn't necessarily mean a thing. I lost mine on the 31st of July, and 4 days later she STILL didn't want to come out. And I had my membranes stripped on my due date, if I remember right, and that didn't do a thing either. It's such a cruel cruel joke, I tell you.
from ray0flight :
OH! *hugs* I'm coming over with my nailpolish and we will get rid of those baby woes!
from byfirstlight :
I am going to cross my fingers that it happens sooner than later, but I already told you once -- she wants to be born on MY birthday. Sunday ;) I can just sense it. haha.
from judybean :
Every single day I pop on and read you first to see if you're still here or not. I'm hoping your not simply so I can see that gorgeous girl of yours on the OUTSIDE!!! Here's to lots of easy, fast labor bits and a healthy, happy baby!
from sillyme00 :
Things will be fine and you should feel lucky that you only have one stretch mark. There are people that get a bunch. Good Luck to you, I can't wait to see a picture of little Marlee. I am sure that you will get everything done that is needed, you seem very organized.
from byfirstlight :
Whatever you do, DON'T take castor oil. You will be so incredibly miserable. Bad, bad idea. Nothing is worth the misery of castor oil.
from redshoegirl :
Yay Marlee!! Well flipped baby girl...I think you're growing a gymnast in there!!
from dna0713 :
Hello well I am new. I don't know why I haven't said hey before but I have been reading your diary since before Marlee exsisted. I am so happy for you. I have had the opposite problem than you. I have babies too easy. I have three little boys and I am a single mom. Dad didn't want to be tied down. But I have a wonderful fiancee who is a loving father to the boys and we might even try one more time for a girl. Anyways I will be praying for you and in fact my whole church will be praying for you as you bring this new little life into the world. Look to God for comfort and guidance. Giving birth will actually be one of the easier woes of parenthood. It is the hardest job in the world. But it is more rewarding than anything you will ever know. Good luck. Jesus loves you!! You can always e-mail if ya want I don't have a diary but I am always here at work and would be glad to chat. Amie Hawkins [email protected]
from marlen816 :
Yea for turning babies! God is so good! I am glad that your appointment went so well!!
from marlen816 :
Cool pictures!!
from marlen816 :
Praying for Marlee to turn before your appointment tomorrow......
from byfirstlight :
I swear I added a message from work today, and it's not here. Odd. Anyway. I hate you. No, really. You skinnyass perfect preggo, you! I WISH I looked that great NOW, let alone at 37 weeks! It's not FAIR! I'm glad you liked your, uh, "gift". I wanted to send you the only other item on your wishlist, but the shipping was more than the item itself! Stupid Target. Adam would have thrown a fit if I'd done that. Anyhoo, coworkers crack me up with their inane comments. I remember those, and I'm just now starting to get them again. And I've got 4 more months of it. Fun stuff.
from judybean :
Seriously you are absolutely stunning. Sure, you may not feel so stunningly beautiful, but considering you are GROWING A HUMAN BEING things are looking great! Keep up the good work. Oh, and the absolutely ridiculous comments of people towards pregnant women: I don't have a clue why people feel it necessary to say the silliest (and most annoying) things.. especially about twins! Come on people! Get a clue and think about what you're saying to a woman who has endured NINE MONTHS of housing this growing bulge on her stomach that affects every single aspect of her life (walking, eating, headaches, sex life, work life, mindset, etc).... and you want to say she's huge? Blech to you.
from sillyme00 :
You look great, you are too hard on yourself. You look great even when you are sick. Good Luck to you. I hated the stupid comments and questions that people made when I was pregnant. No Drugs is awesome and not as bad as it sounds. Good Luck to you, hope she comes soon!!
from ray0flight :
You do look wonderful! Beauty-Ful!
from marlen816 :
Cute pics! You look great!
from fireflyez76 :
You look fabulous, even when you were sick. I've got my fingers crossed that you'll go to get out of bed and feel your waters broken. That way they have to let you have her :) GOOD LUCK SAM!!!
from bytwilight :
I expect an update in the morning. I don't care if it's labor day - I'm keeping tabs on you!!!
from redshoegirl :
!!! Poor you Sam! I'm sure that baby will be worth it though. Get well soon chicken xxx
from marlen816 :
Hang in there, Sam! It's almost time! =) Praying for you to feel better, too! ((Hugs))
from marlen816 :
My doctor always said that when you can't sleep through the contractions they are real, so.....keep us posted!
from ray0flight :
*fingers crossed*
from ray0flight :
((((BIG HUGS))))
from sillyme00 :
I just wanted to let you know that it is ok and both you and Tim are just stressed right now and things will get better. Your boss also had no right to share that info with everyone, I am telling you that a lot of time the Down Syndrome tests come back showing that the baby has it and the baby ends up fine, those tests are no that accurate. I am confindent that everything will be fine and you will love her no less. I am praying for you.
from marlen816 :
((Hugs)) and prayers for you and Tim. These last few weeks are very intense. Got any new pictures you want to post? I bet you are the cutest 9 month pregnant woman!
from judybean :
The farther along in my pregnancy I got, the worse things would get with Mike and I. Or maybe I should say more intense. The good times were great, the bad times were HORRIBLE and we had some of our very worst fights then. Real bawl-fests for me and I could not understand his lack of consideration for me. I think it's because he just has no clue what it's like. Hang in there, Sam. I promise it will get better!
from byfirstlight :
Tums. Ugh. Aren't they just vile? I hate them. Yuck yuck yuck. I think once the baby is born, I will never EVER touch them again. It feels like I have been eating them for two years straight. ugh.
from marlen816 :
I used to think Kari was moving furniture in there, so the chicken dance could definitely be a possibility! LOL
from libbyo :
Hey Sam, The diaper stocking is a great idea. Dave and I started buying them every time we went grocery shopping a couple months before Blake was born. We bought too many 8-10lb sizes though and ended up with an extra package since he grew out of those pretty fast. So far, my faves are by FAR the pamper swaddlers. The are softer, have stretchie tabs on 1-2 sizes and hold way more while they still feel dry. I go through way less but they do tend to be a tad pricey... not too bad though. I can't believe it is so soon that your little boo will be here, so excited for you, it was the most amazing day in my life! XOXO
from marlen816 :
Thanks for the gbook message, Sam. I feel the same way - it is amazing that although I have never met you, Tim or Baby Boo I care about you all! I think being born on September 11 would be ideal! I'll be praying!
from marlen816 :
LOL! Any situation is a good one if it causes you to have M&Ms and cookies! Although, I know you have to watch your sweets! Love ya!
from judybean :
No, just a huge, huge blackout in cities such as New York, Boston, Detroit and even into Canada. Just a grid failure they say but weird nonetheless. cnn.com has more if you wanted to see it.
from byfirstlight :
Have you started peeing every five minutes yet?
from marlen816 :
That is the wonderfulest thing about pregnancy - it ends with an amazingly beautiful human wonder and miracle! You are going to be a great Mom!!
from marlen816 :
My friend just had a baby shower on Saturday and got this really cool gift called a 1st Time Parents' Survival Kit with tons of meds in a plastic carrying case. They carry it at Babies'R'Us if you are interested.....
from pregornot :
Bigger Person. Don't care. Anyway, ray0flight - I know, Septemeber is coming up SOOOO fast. I think I have a touch of anxiety over it!!!
from marlen816 :
That same thing happened to us when we were camping and I was only a few months pregnant. Silly mattress! I am glad you had a good time at the shower. It's almost time!!
from kghmommy :
I just read your entry about the onsies. I would go ahead and use them-they should be fine if they are not skin tight. The baby won't move around enough. My son is adopted and he was with a Foster mother that had had 67 newborns in her care and she had him in onsies. I figure after that many babies she knows what she is doing. But if you do need some "straight jacket" kind-let me know. I also live in WI and have a ton of plain white ones that I could send you. Michelle
from robynm :
First of all, don't beat yourself up about this. What's worse for the baby is for your sugars to stay consistently high. I love pizza and was doing the whole low carb thing before I got pregnant. I discovered I could have one piece with the crust and then only eat the topping off several other pieces and my blood sugars wouldn't go up. I know the bread is the best part, but hey... I still had some, just not all of it. There are many, many ways to treat yourself and not let your sugars go crazy. Please feel free to email me or message me on yahoo. My email (and yahoo ID) is [email protected]. Keep your chin up! You're almost there! Robyn
from ray0flight :
Don't get so down on yourself about it. Just don't let it happen again. I know what its like to have to eat stuff tou really don't want. Ugh story of my life!
from fireflyez76 :
Think of this as a learning experiance. You have done so well, I think anyone in your place would have eaten pizza. Pregnancy makes you think "Oh I'll just eat what I want and it'll be great". Unfortunately it just keeps kicking you in the butt. I will keep my fingers crossed that the diabetes stays gestational and goes away when your little girl is born. Also what a low life to try and steal someone's job while they are on maternity leave!!! >:(
from libbyo :
Hey Darlin! Glad to hear you are still doing well. I bought a ton of little t-shirts because I had heard that too, but after a couple days, I had him in onesies. T-shirts just didn't stay put and onesies were baggy on him anyway and didn't bother his cord at all. I guess if it is tight material than maybe but I wouldn't worry about it. So many things I worried about before that I don't now! Can't wait until your birth-day, it is truly the most amazing thing you will ever experience! XOXO
from sillyme00 :
I had gestational diabetes when I was pregant and my daughter was born 3 weeks early and was just fine and actally weighed 8lbs 13 oz. Your baby girl will be just fine and that person doesn't even know what they are talking about. 37 weeks is considered full-term so no need to worry
from judybean :
40 weeks is not THE perfect time to be born. Like you said, 37 is full term. Plus, the 40 week thing is kind of like a bulleye where rings around it range from 37-42 weeks or so. Any time around there is good. You *are* a special situation and with induction of sorts beginning at 38 weeks is what is best for both you AND your baby! Don't let people that don't pay attention get you down.
from fireflyez76 :
I'm sorry that person was plain ignorant. Anyone who has bothered to read your past entries knows the facts. This pregnancy is has been hell on you physically and emotionally. You're not selfish by any means. Your pregnant. It's hot, your tired, you have to watch everything you eat, you still have concerns about her health, your back is killing you. And like you said your DOCTOR said not to let you go over. You're a wonderful mom already because you've done everything for her while she's been inside you. My youngest two were born at 36 and 38 weeks and they were just perfect. Take care and tell your honey you deserve a massage tonight :)
from ray0flight :
Ugh. Don't let people that don't know the whole story get you down or make you feel bad about something you have no reason to feel bad about. I am sure you and un-born will be fine regardless of if (s)he comes at 38 weeks or 42. So don't sweat it girl - you are better then that. :o) Also did you see who got booted last night!?! TONI thank god. Now Amy left to go and the world will be a happier place.
from imnotblind :
I understand that you are ready for this to be over, but isn't it a little much to wish that your baby is pre-term? What if she has complications because her lungs aren't fully developed (and yes, that can happen this late in pregnancy). Or what if she has to stay in the hospital much longer than if she was full term? I think it's awesome that you have made it this far... what's a few more weeks as long as your baby is completely healthy? Please, think of your child and don't be selfish. Here's hoping that you DO go past 38 weeks. And all the way to 40, like you're supposed to.
from redshoegirl :
The hospital sounds lovely...well, except that grim bath!!! It's very different to here, although it is all FREE!!! I'm so pleased that everything is going well for you now, much love xxx
from judybean :
GORGEOUS nursery (of course you already knew that!), your little Boo will be just tickled I'm sure to have the sweet spot as her room! And.. I'm so happy for your good appointment and the great news of not going late (lucky you! I'm quite envious of that and hope for the same this time around) and a head-down baby!
from redshoegirl :
Such a beautiful nursery!! And a gorgeous cupboard. I understand they joy of a good cupboard. And boo's clothes look so lovely xxx
from marlen816 :
The closet looks great and you are so organized and prepared! Good for you! You are going to be an awesome Mom!!
from ray0flight :
Great job on the closet! It looks fantastic. The whole room is really all pulled togetehr. Perhaps I should purchase a closet do-hicky. My room is a disaster...
from ladygoodman :
i look forward to pictures of this closet!
from judybean :
I can't wait for the pictures!! Hooray for things going so well for now!!
from fireflyez76 :
Vent on girl. I for one hope you don't go over due. I went 3 weeks and had a baby that was too big to deliver I wish that on no one. I hope your baby is born perfect and healthy and sleeps all night. Damn you're having the pregnancy from HELL and someone should cut you some damn slack!
from libbyo :
Hang in there darlin! You are in the home stretch and pretty soon, all will be totally worth it! As for the stretch marks, yeah... I can totally relate there. I got them on my boobs too... and the sad thing is, once my milk came in, they only got worse. OH WELL, what can you do! Wear them with pride, they are your war wounds! XOXO
from byfirstlight :
Complain ALL YOU WANT. You've earned it.
from byfirstlight :
She actually did the nipple stimulation? They actually don't recommend doing it on your own, because while it certainly does stimulate the production of Oxytocin, it needs to be in a regulated situation, otherwise what happened to her could very well happen! Yikes! I'm glad everything worked out for her in the end!
from judybean :
I can't believe things are getting so close for you!! I am just so excited for you two (soon to be three!). I think your open attitude towards meds is commendable. Natural obviously has no cons (aside from the pain... and only you will be able to determine your level for tolerating it depending on your labor and the situation). I'd love to try it this time around... providing this one isn't two weeks late and induced like Madeline was!
from ray0flight :
Do you have an online registry? That baby is sweet looking. What a cutie. (I bet yours will be cuter)
from marlen816 :
I really can't believe how close you are to having Baby Boo. It seems like just yesterday you were finding out and now you are in the last months - WOW! I bet you are so excited!! BTW - When I was about 8 months along I had severe back pains and cramping and after a trip to the hospital, found out I was dehydrated. Keep those fluids coming =)
from byfirstlight :
I predict she'll be born on the 14th. I also predicted she'd be a girl, even though the doctors said boy at first. So, see, I know my stuff ;)
from marlen816 :
Glad you had a good visit! My Mom's b-day is in September! Good month to be born!
from judybean :
I'm so glad you had so much good news to report!! And I'll be cheering for September 10!!
from judybean :
It was me. I thought you might need some extra room to post pictures of Marlee once she finally makes her appearance!
from byfirstlight :
My belly size leveled off once Isabella started to drop - I stayed the same size forever, it seemed, and then in the last week of my pregnancy, I practically doubled in size. Just you wait!
from onomatopoeic :
How does one know if they are pregnant or not? Are there any specific signs to look for?
from byfirstlight :
The hospital will supply a squirt bottle and lidocaine spray (as well as hemorrhoid pads - even if you don't end up with hemorrhoids). They also have plenty of receiving blankets, so unless you're opposed to using theirs, you only need one for the trip out of the hospital. They also supply the super maxi pads, and while they are quite like diapers, your bottom will be so sore the first few days that they will actually feel kind of nice - they're so thick they're pillowy. They'll also give you a pacifier for the baby as well, if you ask. The soothie ones are great for nursing babies (so I'm told - I didn't know about that with Isabella).
from momma03 :
I really enjoy reading your diary! Congrats on your baby boy! Mine is due on October 11.
from byfirstlight :
About the nursing bras, don't order one. You really need to try it on first. And you will change drastically in size the during the first week the baby is born, when your colostrum is replaced by milk, so really, that's the best time to get one, because you'll know your size. I emailed you a link to a great online store, though. And about the baptizing, we haven't baptized Isabella yet. Adam was raised methodist, and I was raised Presbyterian, and the main reason we haven't done anything is because we don't go to a church, and our parents are pushing us to go to THEIR church for it, and you know if we were to choose sides all hell would break loose between our mothers. So, we're going to wait until the baby is born and have a dual baptizing at a lutheran church smack dab in between our parents' churches. *sigh*
from angelsmomi :
Hi Sam, I just read that you bought a nursing bra. I wanted to pass on some advice that was given to me when I was pregnant. You should wait until after you have the baby to buy a nursing bra because you don't really know what size you will be. I believe that this is true because after I lost my baby I became very engourged and I swear my boobs were the size of watermelons.....LOL. I am usually a C cup and I was at LEAST a double F after the baby. From what I have heard the best thing to do is buy sports bras about 2 times your normal size because they have alot of stretch and will allow for more growth throughout your pregnancy. It's up to you of course but I know that nursing bras are very expensive!! Take care and all the best to you and baby ;)

Prayers for your next glucose test. Have a grand time at your shower. I hope you bring home tons of adorable and useful things. So, you decided on spelling her name, Marlee?? I like it! You are too cute - 129 and worried about looking too big or not being able to lose the weight - you are going to do just fine!
from judybean :
Oh Sam, you're always so adorable even in your words. And I'm sure you were One Hot Mama today!!
from angelsmomi :
Hi Sam, First I want to say Congratulations!!! I am so glad that every thing is ok with your baby. I wanted you to know that your diary has been an inspiration to me. I feel I can relate to you so much. I was pregnant with my first child this year and lost the baby due to incompetent cervix at 18 weeks. It was a boy we named him Angel. He was still born on April 4/03 I my EDD was Sept 7/03. I miss my baby so much and the pain is still very raw. I have been wondering how I am going to be able to move on and until I had read your diary I thought I was absolutely looney tunes. Everyone around me seems to think I should be over it by now but what do they know they have never experienced the loss of a child. I just really wanted you to know that I have found some solace and comfort from your diary and I am so happy for you, I wish you all the best in the months ahead for you and your baby. Lynn xo
from judybean :
I know you'll be okay. You seem to be the poster child for all that can go on during a pregnancy. But, gestational diabetes is easily controlable and I know you'll do fine and your baby will be fine too!!
from marlen816 :
Hey! I am just catching up on your last few entries....congrats on the good news and as far as baby names go - I love Marleigh Nicole! You have a better chance of getting it spelled right - with Marlee they may leave off an e or something?! Anyway, there's my 2 cents! I am soo soo happy for you Sam!
from judybean :
Hooray for good news!!! I am *so, so, SO* excited for you two! All good news.. no bad, all good. Does it get better? ... As for names, I personally like Marlee. Marleigh is more girly (and well, of course you ARE having a girl), but... I still like Marlee!! Whatever you choose though, it will be great!!
from angellivia :
I like Marleigh Nicole... I don't know why. It just looks nicer I think. I am so so glad that things are ok with her. I've been reading for ages and keeping up with you. Liv xx
from liebstar :
I'm so glad to hear some good news about your baby.I've been reading your journal for months now and know all the stuff you've gone through. BTW about the name, I like Marlee Nicole.
from ladygoodman :
i like marleigh nicole.
from byfirstlight :
Oh! I am so happy for you!! I just knew everything would be fine. Yay!! I'm positively giddy for you right now! As for names, I like Marlee Nicole. I have a thing for ees, I think (remember when we were going to name Isabella Emilee?). Anyhoo, just one thing to keep in mind - it's a good idea to have a couple backup names in mind, because you never know what she'll really be until you're holding her in your arms and looking into those cute little eyes. Isabella certainly wasn't an Emilee like daddy wanted her to be.
from ray0flight :
I am so glad everything is fine. Honestly. That is incredibily wonderful news and I am so so so so SO happy for you :)
from judybean :
Oh Sam... you're GORGEOUS. I could go on and on about how it'll all be worth it in the end, etc. But really, use all the pillows you can to sleep (who cares how many, just whatever suits you) and... go out and do something that makes you feel good. Whether it's a facial, pedicure, manicure, having your hair done, new makeup, new lotion, .. whatever. These little things can have a HUGE impact on your day. Give yourself a little something special. You're worth it and more!! *hugs*
from ray0flight :
ah maybe i am having sympathy mood swings for you but i started to cry (almost) when I read that ...
from vythien :
Oh wow!!! I love those lamps!!!!! SO CUTE! The whole room is looking fantastic, and you are looking so healthy and happy!! :)
from byfirstlight :
You look great! I'm so jealous!
from ladygoodman :
you are so cute! the baby's room looks really good. it's nice that it's a decor that she won't grow out of when she isn't a baby/toddler anymore.
from ray0flight :
You are tres gorgeous - you definatily have the whole pregnant glow about you :) I love the nursery.. it looks so comfy and cute.
from judybean :
Oh. My. Goodness. You are absolutely GORGEOUS!!! Seriously!! And the nursery? Just too cute. I am *so* excited for you and totally envious of your preggo-gorgeousness!! You're totally a knockout!
from marlen816 :

from fireflyez76 :
You are soooooo pretty! And omg have the most perfect little prego belly! *L* That room looks fabulous! You've done an excellant job with it, you should be proud :)
from pixiedust182 :
hi Sam, I just started reading your diary and I had to quit in the middle of reading entries and when I came back I had lost my place. Forgive me for being so blunt but I was just curious if you had found out if the baby has Down's Syndrome or not? My prayers and thoughts are with you and your family :)
from ladygoodman :
don't most expecting mums get a shower from both sides of the family? the two showers thing might be unavoidable but your mum will know that HER shower is the one that is special, meaningful and really about YOU (and not about throwing a big party in a fancy house). just let her know her shower will be the best one, no matter what.
from libbyo :
Oh, and that phrase "get used to it" sounded a little harsh - didn't mean it like that! LOL Just meant that mine was terrible too and my Dr told me to "get used to it!" lol - At least for now! Thankfully it should be over in a few weeks!
from libbyo :
Hey Sam. As far as hearburn goes - get used to it. It is only going to get worse. I have also had it HORRIBLY throughout most of my pregnancy, to the point that I would just sit and cry because it hurt so much. Right now, tums with calcium are my best friend. They don't taste too badly and do a good job at neutralizing acid, plus the calcium is GREAT for baby. So just keep plugging along there! As for the shower dilemma, in a way, I think you are lucky... my problem was that no one seemed that interested in even throwing me a shower! If I were in your shoes, I would let each mom throw one, invite who they wanted (whether that includes your mom and family or not) and just let it be at that. Sounds like your mom will let you have more say in what goes on at the shower she throws for you, so try and make that one your "fun" shower. And if your friends would rather go to your MIL's than just invite them to that one. Either way, I would probably just let each mom have her fun and throw their own - regardless, you will get the stuff you want and need (hopefully) and at least one of them should be fun too! Good luck!
from byfirstlight :
You know, it really, really burns me. Your mil is being selfish. After what they pulled on you last time, you need to do what makes YOU happiest. If it makes your mil mad, then so be it. You're the mommy to be, not her. Tell her that you do not want a shower in August, because of preterm labor issues. Tell her you will NOT attend a shower that late. It's too much stress/excitement. If you want a joint shower, tell her. Lay it on thick if you have to. Explain to her all the trouble your mom went to, and you would like a joint shower. Explain that you don't ask for much - it would be nice if she would put pettiness aside and do this for you. Or something.

All that heartburn must mean lots of hair for Boo! LOL Tums helped me out a lot with the heartburn.....
from marlen816 :
Sam you are too cute! I was remembering this time last year when I was pregnant with Kari and could fit into my slip on sandals - LOL! You are a beautiful mother-to-be and do not need to compare yourself to anyone!
from marlen816 :
Glad to hear that things went pretty well. Still praying for y'all.
from vythien :
Hi Sam, I've never posted before, but I have been following what has been happening. I just want to let you know that I had a similar problem with my daughter when she was born. They discovered she had a hole in her heart, and the doctor that talked to me about it told me very conflicting things. Alot of things that scared the heck out of me being a new 19yo mum. You know, things like "Watch if around her mouth goes blue, but that will happen when she has wind"... just silly things that scared me. What I have learnt is to just take it day by day. I would have been a total mess if I had listened to all their stressful stuff. I have a totally gorgeous and very healthy 11 year old girl, and her heart problem has never held her back. I'm not saying not to worry, because it is a natural thing to do. I'm just saying I totally understand where you are coming from! Love and thoughts to you, Tim and Boo-ette!
from byfirstlight :
That's great news!! I bet she's just fine. I bet she's just a wee bit behind in developing, just like Isabella was. DS my eye! Maybe she's already trying to show you what a handful she's gonna be! Hee :)
from robynm :
I'm so glad for you, the baby & Tim!
from ray0flight :
I am glad to hear things went ok-ish.. i hope the other issue works out.. *hugs*

from marlen816 :
My thoughts and prayers are with you!
from judybean :
Thoughts, prayers, well-wishes, and hugs for your test results tomorrow!
from redshoegirl :
Sam, I just found you, obviously I walked in at a stressful time, but can I add you to my favurites?? I'm hoping and praying for your little girl, you and your husband. And I agree it's offensive to offer to kill your baby because there's a 1 in 180 risk she might have a disability.
from robynm :
I'm waiting to see the perinatologist next week. They're worried that my baby (I'm only 8 weeks) may have a neural tube defect. I too, am struggling with the decision on wether or not to have an amnio. The word termination was mentioned.... not an option for us. Makes me angry that people think it's that easy. It's very hard not to worry all day long every day. People keep telling me not to, but I can't help it. Do your best to keep your chin up and remember your faith in God.
from lisah1979 :
Hi Sam I only just discovered your diary to be honest, but I just wanted to tell you ,GOOD LUCK!! I am 8 weeks pregnant with my second and I am terrified at the moment of m/c, as my mum had a lot and my sister just lost her second in Feb. And A BABY GIRL I'm sure she is gonna be just perfect.........
from fireflyez76 :
I wish nothing but the best for you and Tim, and your little girl. I can't say I understand what your going thru because mostly I can't. My son was 6 months old before the carpet was ripped from beneath us. He got very sick and the Drs told us we needed to say goodbye. Basically to stop fighting for him. We refused and he's alive today. Not without his complications, he has brain damage, is visually impaired, and is very behind developmentally. I can't say it's always easy but the rewards can be tremendous. Even though you've had no confirmation maybe finding some online support groups that deal with special children might give you some comfort. They have for me. I will be praying for you to carry your daughter safely to term.
from marlen816 :
Praying for you, Tim and Baby Boo....
from libbyo :
I know how you feel hon, I HATE when people say "oh, it is nothing to be worried about" because we all know, that in the same situation, they would be pretty hard pressed NOT to worry. So worry is normal, and I know that you haven't given up hope and that is the important thing. As for the amnio, trust your instincts, although I think your decision to not do it was a wise one, especially since you wouldn't want to terminate anyway - I think it would be a disaster to do it and then go early and then find out everything would have been fine... but of course, that is my opinion, and you have to do what YOU feel is best because you are the only one who knows! *hugs*
from ladygoodman :
any baby, special needs or not, would be so lucky to have you as a mum. you are very brave and very accepting. go you!
from ray0flight :
I'm sorry that people are so horrible to you ... and I hope I wasn't one... I know it's not the same BUT when I told some people about the fact that I had Lupus some people said "Oh that's it - pfft - don't worry about that" Little do they know some days its such a struggle I don't know how to make it thru. I guess what I am trying to say but not succeeding at is : I know where you are coming from, I understand the hurt when people don't understand and don't even try. ((hugs)) I'm thinking of you 3
from ladygoodman :
yay a girl! that's so great. i'm sure everything will be fine. she even looks cute on the ultrasound.
from libbyo :
I will be praying for you that everything turns out okay... And as for a girl! YEY! How fun! The ultrasound pics are just adorable!
from ray0flight :
Woo A baby girl!! You must be so excited! I am going to say the same as everyone else... shes's going to be awesome and healthy and everything will be fine!! :0) No matter what the outcome shes is going to be your baby and you will love her regardless!
from marlen816 :
I agree with Dolly - my sister in law was told the same thing about Down's etc and the only thing that happened was preterm labor. Hunter came 6 weeks early, but is a healthy little boy - he is catching up with Kari rather quickly! The sonogram pictures are beautiful! Any girl names????
from dollyllama :
Hang in there! I'm sure it will be reabsorbed. Those damn doctors did everything they could to scare me, too, and our baby came out fine! It was always something when I went in there--either they talked about diabetes, hypertension, stress, Down's, or birth defects--they are always scaring you with something! Put your faith in your body and your baby--She will be healthy.
from judybean :
That little girl of yours looks absolutely beautiful. As for your other news, you just have to roll with what is coming at you. So far you have beaten all of the odds. I think somebody is watching out for you. I know I think of you often and you're on my mind.
from marlen816 :
Okay! I am getting REALLY impatient now. Update, update, UPDATE!! = )
from byfirstlight :
*waits* but not so patiently :)
from marlen816 :
Can't wait to hear about the sonogram!
from ray0flight :
Hey - soo.. how was the big ulrasound? Boy?Girl? Both?? My best friend was pregnant and she used to hate recess peices (I know I spelt it wrong) anyway... during pregnancy she had to buy those things in bulk to keep up with the cravings. Now shes worse then pre-preg. and can't even stand the sight of the things!! :) At least milk is good for you though. Unlike a choclate peanut butter mix. Anyway I think we should throw you a d*land shower.. I would come.. and buy you a nifty gift certificate!
from judybean :
I'm thinking of you today! Can't wait to hear the report!!
from libbyo :
Good luck with your ultrasound today! It is the most amazing thing! I am so excited for you... here's to seeing all the "bits&pieces" or lack thereof!
from byfirstlight :
I would SO throw you a shower, and on the invitations I would be rude and tell people to STICK to the registry...but that's just me. Happy Belated Mother's Day, and my fingers are crossed for the "money shot" (that sounds so wrong!) too!
from why-i-love :
I know this isn't original, the lady at the store beat me to it, but happy mothers day! Have a good one!
from sydnibird :
the belly is much cuter than mine...and you're due just the day after i am! i keep my pregnancy journal/blog at thesmiths-va.com in case you're interested.
from byfirstlight :
Oh! Look! You're too cute! I can't wait to have a little belly like that again :)
from fireflyez76 :
I found your diary thru Tearstream, hope you don't mind me saying hello :) HUGE congrats on your pregnancy. I read about your miscarriage, it gave me chills as I remembered losing my own child at 9 weeks. Everything you described was how I felt too. I thought I would die, but now I have FOUR children who fill every moment of my time :) I wish you and Tim (also my hubbys name! hehe) the best of luck and love with your little Boo. Have you seen www.chinagold.com? It makes an educated guess as to the sex of your baby. It was right 3 out of 4 times for me. Anyways, take care. Those horrid hormonal outbreaks do go away...eventually :) -Jamie
from marlen816 :
No, you are not insane - you are pregnant! ((Hugs)) and prayers for you and Baby Boo!
from shannonwills :
Wow...I can feel for you right now! I just started taking hormones to help get me pregnant and I am in a MOOD. I am so jealous about your tummy and the lady saying "happy mothers day" to you! Hopefully I will get that soon! Good luck in the future!
from judybean :
Stupid co-workers! But your, "Yes, I eat at least three times a day and call them breakfast, lunch and dinner" bit totally cracked me up!! And.. your belly? Too cute. Really. It's beautiful.
from marlen816 :
Cute pics!
from libbyo :
Your last entry just hit so close to home! I can't believe that co-worker said that to you! The Nerve! It is like people think that as soon as they see a pregnant woman, it is free-for-all and anything goes. I am sure you read how this lady at work asked me "are you SURE you aren't having twins?" Like I wouldn't know... just wait till you feel like a barn and women (it is ALWAYS women) start telling you "YOU ARE JUST HUGE!", Ug, Never before have I had to use so much restraint in wanting to punch someone in the nose! And back to the food comment, ummm yeah, you are eating for TWO do they not think that you are going to be a LITLTE more hungry considering your body is burning up as much energy at rest as someone running a marathon? Idiots. Anyway, eat on, arm yourself with dirty looks for those jealous of you and tacky enough to say things like that. I probably told you this, but before we found out that the bump was a boy, we were both CONVINCED it was a girl. I still have never had a baby dream where the baby has been a boy! He better be though, because otherwise, she is going to be dressed like a major tomboy! LOL
from byfirstlight :
Okay. If he isn't moving enough to keep you satisfied, call your doctor and have the answering service page him/her. Seriously. I had to do that with monkey, and my doctor sent me to the emergency room. She figured everything was fine, but better safe than sorry, you know? And besides - you have insurance, right? What's the harm? And chances are, if you did go, he'd start kicking up a storm right as you pulled into the driveway (that's what isabella did).
from dollyllama :
The pain just below your bellybutton could just be the abdominal muscles separating to accomodate the baby's growth. I had that (not fun!). Of course, with the other things going on you should keep an eye on it, but just wanted to reassure you a little. Most of all try to stay happy if you can because your little one can tell if you are all stressed out.
from marlen816 :
I will be praying for you and Baby Boo! Stay off your feet and have a relaxful weekend. ((Hugs))
from judybean :
Husbands can only understand so much. They don't know what it's like to feel like your body and mind are totally out of control, because that's what happens. Your body? What body? It doesn't look anything like it used to, doesn't feel the same, doesn't look the same, doesn't do things normal bodies do (like get COMFORTABLE at night). Your mind? It seems like it went a long time ago. Sleep deprivation causes snappiness. Crazy hormones cause snappiness. Your husband better just be happy you haven't strangled him yet for leaving the toilet seat up!! And.. don't think that you're the only one who has struggled with pregnancy. I think you're in a tough situation where it's everything you've ever wanted and you want it all to be roses when sometimes they turn out to be dandelions and you just have to make the best with what you've got. I know you'll make it and make it fine. I would like to say someday your husband will come around, but.. he's just a man you know and he's a work in progress. And really, that's what your body is right now: a work in progress. You're building a baby in that tummy of yours! It's hard work! And you are doing a GREAT JOB!! Hooray for you!!
from libbyo :
Your feelings mirror my own in so many ways, although now I am just starting to get plain tired of being pregnant! And husbands, they can only understand, a very small degree, of the fatigue and hormonal mood swings, and the "not feeling pretty"... their sympathies tend not to extend as far as our needs do! *hugs*
from mommies :
Hey Sam. The message board is finally up and running. The address is http://so-impossible.org/mama/index.php - so go join! -Candace
from byfirstlight :
And I went natural. I didn't get an epidural, but I did get a shot of Staydol when I was dilated to 5cm. It takes the edge off, but that's about it. However, I would wholly recommend NOT getting an epidural. Adam was doing some work in a hospital last year, and he saw a memo on a doctor's desk that was talking about all the lawsuits they'd had recently because of botched epidurals and spinal blocks. And this is a topnotch hospital in Detroit! That right there was reason enough for me to just tough it out and not get one.
from byfirstlight :
You're also eligible to take a leave of absence from work. I think you can take up to 9 weeks per year. That's what I had to do for my maternity leave, because I hadn't been at my job a year yet, and therefore didn't qualify for short term disability. But it's called a family leave of absence or something like that. And I got her outfit at Old Navy, and they actually did have similar outfits for adults at one time, but that was months ago :)
from marlen816 :
You are so cute! I went natural with Josh and had an epidural with Kari and I definitely recommend the epidural. LOL It was just so much easier to handle the contractions when I could feel the pressure but not the pain. I also had forceps with Josh and let me just say OUCH! I tore major and DO NOT recommend them! I am not sure they even use them any more.....
from bluescadood :
Hey. Your diary is really sweet. I hope everything works out good. Have a great day.
from boogiebeep :
congrats on making it this far! I have been reading for a while, you would nearly be out of the danger zone wouldnt you? Good Luck and Take it Easy. My Partner and I are going to start TTC this week hopefully.
from marlen816 :
Ya for stencling and being 19 weeks! Glad everything is going so well! Can't wait to see pictures!
from ladygoodman :
i love maternity ward. it's so great. except my fiance goes in the other room when i watch it because it scares him.
from dollyllama :
Be ready to change the channel when you're watching maternity ward. When I was watching while I was prego and the babies died I about went ballistic. Not a good thing.
from libbyo :
Don't you just love Maternity Ward! I catch every episode as well... I am hooked! As for your BH contractions, make sure to ask your doc about them, because mine told me they shouldn't really be painful and should go away when you change positions. So far, that has been pretty true of mine... besides, 19 weeks seems early to be having them. Don't you just LOVE the feeling of that little baby moving around? I am all for it, except when it hurts! LOL
from marlen816 :
I do not think the first 8 weeks of birth are hell. Josh and Kari were both great newborns. Neither of them were colicky or grumpy babies. I love that new time with them. It is true to some extent that it is what you make it - but, with Josh I did not experience PPD and with Kari I did. Just read up on it, let people help you and do not be afraid to get help for yourself. ((Hugs)) and prayers!
from judybean :
I don't think you're nuts, because a lot of getting all riled up *is* what you make of it (yes, babies DO cry!). But... just you wait until you've gone three straight nights without sleep... and ANYBODY asks something of you (husband or baby). Then... then I think you'll see what motherhood is all about!! :) ... but it's *SO* worth it. Every single moment!!
from dollyllama :
I don't know if this posted in your other message board or not, so I'm posting it here: People warned me about it too, but it's not like everyone says, because it's YOUR child. You're not thinking about the screaming, you're thinking, "Oh my sad little baby, what is the matter? What can I do to help?" I did go through post-partum depression (am just barely coming out of it), but my depression was never suicidal, and I was certainly never inclined to hurt anyone. Don't worry about it-- you will slide right into perfect motherhood because you will love your baby so much! I can tell you already do from your writings.
from mommies :
Ooh, nursery pictures! Post them quick! -Candace :)
from marlen816 :
I mean pictures!! lol
from marlen816 :
I can't see the pcitures, either!!!!
from judybean :
psst. I don't see the images!
from boogiebeep :
I have been following your story for a while now, good luck, and I hope all goes well! I will follow on, and pray that all is well. love amberlee
from libbyo :
Glad to hear everything is A-Okay. As for the floss and brush thing! YOU ARE TOO FUNNY! Floss first, then brush, that way you clean out all the gunk you just flossed. He hee.
from marlen816 :
Glad your appt. went well. I used to take baths too just not hot ones. I loved when Josh and Kari would move - Josh always jabbed and kicked and Kari felt like she was moving furniture. She is still such a wiggle worm.
from smushy :
I am sorry to hear about the accident! I pray everythings ok! Try not to stress out to much ok hun ?
from marlen816 :
Wow! I can believe that lady only got a warning! I am glad you were not seriously hurt and will be praying for your back and appointment this afternoon. I am sure that baby Boo is fine! I wish I only weighted 113.5 at 5 months! lol
from pregornot :
I'm leaving this note hear so I hope Libbyo and Bytwilight see it...I didn't actually mean I was TAKING vitamin C...I just drank a few cans of Sunny Delight...I think that stuff is gross, but it's got tons of vitamins in it and USUALLY makes my sore throats go away. Thanks for your concern though guys! I love you! Sam
from bytwilight :
I agree with Libbyo. Be careful with the Vitamin C. My ob told me the same thing when I had a bad cold last year. And email me with your address. I got about 12 packages of washcloths at my showers last year (each package containing 6 or 9) - and I haven't even opened half of them yet! I will send some to you. I actually use a bathmit with little animals on each finger to wash Isabella most of the time. She likes it better than a washcloth.
from marlen816 :
Praying you had a great weekend! Write soon!
from libbyo :
I found this at baby center: "Avoid taking megadoses of vitamin C. The Department of Health recommends taking no more than 60 mg per day in pregnancy" just an FYI
from libbyo :
Baby kicks rock! Glad you get to be an early kicking feeler! It is so fun! Anyway, I know that I am always full of advice (big mouth me) but I just want to tell you to be careful of the vitamin C. I have read a few books that advise against taking a lot of it when you have a cold and are preggers "Large intakes of vitamin C may adversely affect fetal metabolism and are not recommended" - I think it recomended not taking more than one a day but drinking a lot of OJ instead... Just thought I would let you know, you might wanna ask your doc. Especially if you are on prenatal vitamins becaue they have vitamin C and taking an extra one might be one dose too much! SORRY ABOUT THE LOOOOOONG NOTE! I just want you and baby boo to be healthy!
from marlen816 :
Yea for belly pokes! And it is never boring to hear about your pregnancy! Keep writing!!
from lukeysmama :
You look great! Your belly is so cute! I'm glad everything is going well so far. Hope the morning sickness eases up soon. I remember that feeling... ugh. :)
from mom2lauren :
hey there :) you look great! i've been trying to find blogs of people due somewhere around the time i am. i'm 16w+0d today. LOL due sept. 15th. my blog's at http://www.moonunderglass.com/babe2/ :) congrats on your pregnancy and i wish you the best of luck!!
from libbyo :
Huge? Honey, just wait. I can't even put on my socks in the morning!
from marlen816 :
Sam - You look so incredible! I love your belly!
from momma3 :
How cute!! I bet you are gonna be one of those lucky people (unlike me) and gain just in your tummy! :) You definetly have that pregnancy glow! :)
from pastrychef :
Sam you look great!
from sydnibird :
You look great! I'm 15 weeks as well..but no real tummy yet. Well..except for what was already there..ha!
from goddessjen :
(Just a note from a longtime lurker): OMG! You look soo great!! And so happy and so healthy! Congrats again and keep more pics posted!!
from marlen816 :
I love Target maternity and I bet Burlington has some cute things, too, although I never thought to shop there for maternity clothes. Paryers for your m/s and headache.
from marlen816 :
Hey - I got some really cute maternity clothes at Kohl's and Target. So, maybe you'll have some luck at those places. Also, congrats on the test results - IT'S A BOY!!! Cool, cool! What are your boy names again? When the ultrasound revealed I was having a girl I was so shocked - I cried. At 4 AM, I am sure I would have just crawled back to bed, too. I am sooo excited for you!
from libbyo :
Maternity clothes, yup, options are majorly limited unless you want to pay out the nose. I can't believe the motherhood store was that bad there! Here it is dirt cheap. Online it isn't bad too so maybe you should check it out: www.motherhood.com As for the leg cramps, get used to it, it only gets worse from here on out!
from judybean :
As far as maternity clothes shopping, I got a few hand-me-downs (not many that were wearable though), but otherwise all my clothes were from Target or online. I loved Target's stuff plus they were reasonably priced!! Also, by shopping on the web (oldnavy.com and gap.com, but only during sales at gap) you get MUCH more selection and get a lot more sales stuff you can browse through. ... AND, as for leg cramps, I had never experienced leg cramps before I was pregnant but then got them Constantly in my right calf and also in the arch of my right foot. Unfortunately (not to scare you of course), they persist to this day. But I suppose they have lessened over time so that is good!
from momma03 :
Good luck with your pregnancy and I hope that everything goes well for you!
from lucidjelly :
Wow! I'm a week behind you so it's so neat to see your pictures. I can't believe they look like real human people at this stage! I will be praying for you. Keep in mind it's never a bad idea to get a second opinion if you feel like they're not giving you what you need!
from marlen816 :
I love the pictures! I will be praying for you and the 20 week mark to come and go, each day strengthening you and baby Boo. Boo is such a miracle baby already!!!
from libbyo :
Dave and I will be praying so hard for your Sam!
from judybean :
p.s. you are constantly in my prayers.
from judybean :
What wonderful, lovely ultrasound pictures!!! As for boy or girl, I don't have a clue by the pictures. I could never tell with Madeline. I am still so excited for you!!
from libbyo :
You know whats funny? Even though we are 110% sure we are having a boy, every dream I have ever had and STILL have envolves baby girls. I think my mind just won't accept (even though I am thrilled to death) that we are having a boy!
from marlen816 :
Yea for baby movements, cribs and dopplers! Sorry to hear you are still sick. Can not wait to see ultrasound pics tomorrow!!!
from marlen816 :
I am thinking girl, too. Also, I felt Josh move at about 12 weeks and Kari a bit later, so I think it is totally possible that you felt the baby move - especially since you are a skinny minnie!
from judybean :
I vote girl. I was absolutely, positively convinced I was having a boy (as was Mike) for the entire pregnancy. So.... since you think the same I vote girl ;)
from libbyo :
This is a great site to register that will tell you of your baby's development on a weekly basis. You are 12 weeks right? (that is 10 gestational weeks) here is the link for that page: http://www.babycenter.com/refcap/pregnancy/fetaldevelopment/838.html
from libbyo :
They say you are most likely to feel the baby between 18-24 weeks but for first time moms, it is more likely to be between weeks 22-24. But every woman is different.
from byfirstlight :
I bought most of my maternity clothes at Old Navy - cheap and very cute. I totally loved them. And you know what? I think you're having a girl. Just a weird feeling. But I thought Isabella was going to be a girl, and, well, she was. So, woo. I'm all psychic and stuff.
from glistenen :
Hehehe, are we both gaming widows? I'm mostly a Warhammer widow, but it's all gaming.
from glistenen :
Hehehe, are we both gaming widows? I'm mostly a Warhammer widow, but it's all gaming.
from libbyo :
I got most of my clothes online. You should check out oldnavy.com, gap.com and babystyle (they have a bunch of stores from there). Anyway, Old Navy's stuff is super cheap and pretty cute. You just order the sizes that you wore pre-pregnancy. So far, I haven't had to return a thing...
from judybean :
Glad to hear you're feeling better. As for meds, yes of course women managed to get through pregnancy before there were meds but at the same time people got through surgeries without meds too. Would you have your appendix out without some sort of meds? I'm obviously not a NoMeds nazi. But that's just me. If it's making you feel this good then it's obviously totally worth it!!
from glistenen :
What song? *confused*
from marlen816 :
Sorry to hear that you were so sick this weekend. Have fun shopping tonight and I'll be praying that you find some great deals!
from momma3 :
I hope you are feeling better very soon!!
from marlen816 :
I am glad things went well with the daycare. A good daycare is worth it, I've been told!
from byfirstlight :
How cute! You did a good job. Isn't daycare pricing just evil? Ugh.
from marlen816 :
Too cute! The diaper organizer looks great!
from marlen816 :
Yea for baby updates! I have never heard of one of those devices that can tell you the sex of your baby. That is neat. I am glad that you are feeling better. I hope you have a relaxing weekend and enjoy the pool!
from sillyme00 :
I am also from southern Wisconsin. Where are you located? e-mail me [email protected]
from sillyme00 :
I am so glad that you got to hearthe heartbeat, that is the most wonderful thing. I remember all that like it was yesterday and you also have many other wonderful/amazing moments ahead of you.
from judybean :
Hooray for hearing the heartbeat! I'm so excited for the two (three) of you!
from marlen816 :
I am so excited that you heard Boo's heartbeat! As I am sure you are...How neat! And just because you mentioned it - my son is circumcised and I would did it again if i had another boy. I believe that it is healthier, easier to clean and is not in anyway mean or cruel and unusual punishment. Yes, it makes them cry and it looks horrible, but I think it is worth it. Just my humble opinion, though. As far as your comment in Mommies - I wrote out a birth plan and discussed it with my doctor at my 39th week appointment (I was already scheduled for an induction due to complications from my firstborn). And used a list from a pregnancy book I had to pack things - nursing pads are a must and so are big undies and extra pads. And a pillow - I needed my pillow to be comfortable enough to sleep. And some healthy snacks, in case you get sick of graham crackers and apple juice, which is all I could have until dinner came and I was starving! Oh and make sure you have a phone card and list of people to call. Or just call your Mom and have her spread the word. Anyway - if you need any more help or suggestions, just e-mail me. BTW - Have you found a daycare yet??
from glistenen :
Hi, saw your question at Mommies. Thought it would be more convenient if I left my replies here. :) I did have a birth plan all written out prior to my labor. Unfortunately, with my healthcare plan, I could not give it to the doctor in advance, so I took the plan with me to the hospital and had to give it to my birthing nurse. (Obviously because the doctor showed up right when I was ready to push the baby out, and he had no time to read the plan. Pfft.) As for packing... I don't think I had ANYTHING packed until I started going into labor. I had all the things I needed around the house but not gathered up in one bag. One thing some people don't realize you need are some giant pregnancy underwear. (A friend of mine had avoided pregnancy underwear all 9 months, but I warned her that a thong would not keep a giant mattress sized pad in place. She didn't know about lochia.) Anywhoo. A must to bring if you're breastfeeding (and probably even if you're not) are nursing pads. I don't like the ones made by formula companies. Get ones with the plastic on the side farthest from your breasts. They keep the milk from getting all over everything. Those are a must for the first few weeks/months. Hrrm. I don't remember much else, but feel free to email me anytime if you have questions. I gave natural childbirth (with no pain meds) but I'm not necessarily a No Meds Nazi. I am, however, a Lacto Nazi, so you will hear all about how it's so wonderful and all that. Hehehe, if you ask, that is. Anyway, talk to you later maybe!
from sillyme00 :
the daycare that my daughter goes to is $720 a month. That is the cheapest around here. We live in Wisconsin. the average daycare cost around $800-$900 a month and you have to provide diapers and formula, breastmilk and wipes and baby food. It is crazy, but good luck finding a daycare, I know that it gets frustrating. GOOD LUCK!!
from judybean :
$700 PER MONTH!?!?! Yikes. For me, it wouldn't even be worth working hardly. I'm wishing you the best of luck. I know how stressful it can be to find a decent place to put your child where you feel comfortable (HUGE key to it), but I have faith it will all fall together the way it is supposed to. In the meantime (and stress time), just keep looking and know that at least you do have a bit of a time window for things to fall through!
from marlen816 :
I may be locking my diary. If you'd like the password, e-mail me. Thanks! [email protected]
from marlen816 :
((Hugs)) At least when I was so sick I was at home on the couch. Can't even imagine being at work. Did you ever ask your doctor if you could take Zofran? It was a miracle pill for me.....
from pastrychef :
Definitely register for the Kick n' Play bouncer, my son loves it (he's asleep in it now) ... I can't wait til his older to use the toys but for now the vibrations help. Also if you are breastfeeding DEFINITELY get the boppy pillow. I have one and it's a lifesaver. Looks like your list is pretty thorough.
from libbyo :
I highly recommend "The Girlfriend Guide to Baby Gear", It was SO helpful to me in knowing what to get and what to skip, oh and the girlfriends guide to pregnancy is HILARIOUS so if you haven't read that yet, it is a goooood one for us preggo girlies!
from libbyo :
Painting is a no no for preggo ladies my dear. Ask your doc, he will confirm. Bad fumes for baby. BUT YEY FOR NURSERY PLANS!
from marlen816 :
With my firstborn my morning sickness last for 12 weeks tops, but with Kari I was sick from October until January - well past my 12th week. Anyway, I know that doesn't sound encouraging, but...anyway, I am praying for you and thanks for the note in my guestbook! I really appreciate your support.
from libbyo :
I used to get nosebleeds too all the time! The doc said it is a normal part of pregnancy... *sigh* as is every other annoying thing! LOL
from marlen816 :
I love all the cribs! And I'd get the monitor, too. Sorry to hear about the nose bleeds. That has to be scary. Still praying for you.....
from judybean :
Getting a convertible crib is such a *wonderful* idea I think. We have one for Madeline and I'm so excited to turn it into a toddler bed!! ... as for the fetal heart monitor.. if something give you peace of mind -- GO FOR IT!! Seriously. Your mental health is just as important as your physical health!!
from pastrychef :
I'm so glad you fell into that 5%. How exciting to have those u/s pictures. Take good care of yourself & rest as much as you can!
from marlen816 :
Love the pics! So excited for you!!
from babicharmz :
how cute:) you should start posting belly pics :-D
from libbyo :
CUTE! How chubby! Wait until those later ultrasounds when you can see the baby sucking its thumb/fingers etc. SO AMAZING! I love ultrasounds!
from libbyo :
Yey! I am so happy for you! Now TAKE IT EASY!
from october891 :
I've been reading yoour diary for a while now, but this is the first note that I've left. I'm so happy for you and Tim!!!
from lucidjelly :
OMG! I was reading through past entries, getting caught up, and my heart absolutely stopped when I got to yesterday's entry. I am SO GLAD everything is alright. I can't imagine what you must have been going through all night. And your ultrasound story is hilarious! I sympathize, I have no idea how they see anything with those things. Except, of course, the baby. We saw ours last weekend, and there was no mistaking that little, tiny fish-body with the beating heart!
from marlen816 :
GOD IS SOOOO AWESOME! Samantha - I am so excited for you, Tim and Boo! As my eyes fill with tears I am just overwhelmed with God's miracle! YEA!
from twisted-mind :
Hi just wanted to say how happy I am for you and your husband that everything has worked out so far. With both my children I had horrible morning sickness. My doctor prescribed "Equate" an anti nausea liquid which back then was prescription only and is now over the counter. Ask your dr about it. I'll be keeping you in my thoughts. Good luck!
from sheepdip :
Woo-hoo!!! I only found your diary recently and I've never left a note before, other than yesterday to tell you I was praying, but I read your whole story so far. And when yesterday happened I just had to stop what I was doing and pray. Today I read your update and (it will sound silly) I am jumping round the house for joy (I told you it would sound silly!) and telling my husband all what happened!! We sat and praised God about what he did for you. I am so so so so thrilled that Boo is growing and healthy and all. I will keep on praying for the rest of your pregnancy. Yay!!!! :D
from mommies :
Thrilled. We are absolutely thrilled.
from judybean :
I AM SO EXCITED FOR YOU, YOUR HUSBAND AND LITTLE BOO!!! I was praying really hard that it would all work out and it did. I cannot even word that joy I feel for you right now.. and how absolutely perfect that you had that hilarious leg/ovary moment. It was just what you needed!!
from wilyred :
Oh my God, I am so sorry this is happening. I don't know what to say except that I will pray for you too. Hang in there. -Lisa
from sheepdip :
I am praying for you too.
from byfirstlight :
I am praying for you and Tim and Boo. You will be in my thoughts constantly until everything is okay.
from marlen816 :
Sam - I am really praying for a miracle for you and Boo. ((hugs))
from judybean :
My prayers are with you and Boo.
from byfirstlight :
Yay for the seabands! You're lucky. They never worked for me. I probably wasn't putting them in the right pressure point or something. I'm glad you're able to eat now!
from pastrychef :
Congrats on the pregnancy!!! I wish you a happy, healthy, & successful 9 months. The morning sickness will all be worth it in the end though I know it's hard! :)
from judybean :
I'm so glad you're feeling better. Whatever works I say!!
from marlen816 :
Yea! Glad they are working! Enjoy your curly fries!
from marlen816 :
When I was pregnant with Josh I ate Cheetos and drank orange soda for breakfast every morning! But, I couldn't keep my pregnancy vitamins down - go figure! But, with Kari EVERYTHING made me nauseated and I never ate Cheetos or drank orange soda my whole pregnancy!
from byfirstlight :
Just a suggestion: when you are feeling ill, try not to lay flat. It makes it worse. Not that (they suggest putting your head between your knees), but you don't want it any worse.
from marlen816 :
I felt the same way from October until January and it was not easy, but worth it in the end! Keep your chin up! ((Hugs)) and prayers!
from musicchick44 :
I just found you in the members section...Good luck!!! I only read a few entries, but I'm sending many good wishes your way!
from marlen816 :
The medicine I took was called Zofran and it was wonderful! After taking my first pill and waiting 8 hours I was able to eat pizza with double cheese and olives and keep it down!
from babicharmz :
I read your messege on Mommies. Well I REALLY like our swing(so does riley) we have one that Cradles and Swings (A cradle swing, I don't know maybe they are all like that?). And i Agree with Glistenen, I dont really use my baby bath either, Me and Riley just bathe together. Other then that I'm not sure yet. I'll let you know what we like in a few months when Riley can use walkers and stuff.
from marlen816 :
Yup, Sam I, too had morning sickness bad and for a long time and had a beautiful baby girl! And as far as the weight gain, you are right on the money with that one, too. And just as your Mom was an exception, so was mine - three girls and all three basketball bellies with NO morning sickness! lol
from judybean :
For the morning sickness... I don't know if it will work for you, but have you tried ginger? like gingersnaps or something like that? I heard they work. Personally, I never really felt terribly sick. A little nauseous, but I never puked (by the way, I did have a girl so who knows)... but I heard the ginger worked. And I did munch quite a few ginger snaps... so mabye they really do work. ... Oh, I will get around to my baby products I couldn't live without it will just be a little bit... darn work gets in the way!
from glistenen :
Hi! I saw your message on Mommies. I wish I hadn't bought a baby bath. I tried using it a few times, and it was okay, but eventually I ended up just getting in the bath with my baby. If you want to get a baby bath, I would recommend one of those foam ones you stick on the bottom of the tub. Those are good for the really young ones. I adored the swing I got, it was very useful. The bouncy chair was also wonderful... but you want to buy one soon. I got mine when Aja was a few months old already and she grew out of it quickly. :(
from prncsaimee :
Hey Samantha - both of my kids REALLY loved the exersaucer, I think they can use it at 5 months old, but they both loved it up until 18 months or so. :)
from libbyo :
Hate to say it but the sick=girl theory, not always true... four girls in my family and NOT A DAY did my mom get sick!!!
from lucidjelly :
hi, there! i haven't announced this on my journal yet, but i'm about 2 weeks behind you! i've used tcoyf for preg avoidance for 4 years and we were lucky to get pg our first try. i'm a little over 5 weeks, due about 10/2/03. still really worried about m/c (i can't believe your story...you're very brave), and have told too many people :s. hear's to a happy and healthy pregnancy!
from marlen816 :
Hey - glad to hear things turned out okay. Prayers for you and Boo and you better start eating if your morning sickness is gone - raspberry cheesecake icecream is always good for the soul! ((hugs))
from bytwilight :
I am so happy for you. Now go eat something deliciously fattening :)
from prncesz :
Wow! What a scary thing to go through today! I am so glad that things are really working out, and that the doctor said your odds for a m/c went down to 10%!!!! That is totally awsome! Hang in there girl. Judging by your notes it looks like there are a lot of us out there pulling for you and your little one. -Jessica
from bytwilight :
You WILL email me with Ultrasound results before you post an entry, because I'm demanding like that. If you don't, I may cry. Seriously. Now, about the morning sickness, I had it BAD. What helped me was to gulp down a lot of hot (well, warm) tea, unsweetened (20-30oz). That way, minutes later when I ran to the bathroom to vomit, there were no dry heaves or yucky bursts of stomach acid, because I had 20oz of bland tasteless tea coming up instead of half digested breakfast and bile. It didn't make me FEEl better, but the lack of horrible taste certainly helped a lot.
from lukeysmama :
Can't wait to hear about your ultrasound! So sorry to hear you are feeling so bad, I remember those days... I think I spent most of my days either in bed or on the bathroom floor. ;)
from marlen816 :
I can definitely sympathesize with you! I was the same way! Praying for you and Boo and can't wait to hear about the ultrasound!
from ladygoodman :
i was so happy to come back to your diary and find you pregnant. good work and congratulations! <3
from motherofian :
I just wanted to say congratulations. I know you'll make a better mom than people that haven't been through a miscarriage because you won't take mommyhood for granted. So, yeah, congratulations, Mom! Take care!
from marlen816 :
Morning sickness is icky at best. I had to actually get a anti-nausea medicine when I was pregnant with Kari because I couldn't even keep water down! Yucky! But, by Christmas I was doing better and gained 40+ pounds during my pregnancy. I high calorie foods, I guess! lol
from bytwilight :
My doctor said it's okay to use generics AS LONG AS the dosage is exactly the same as tylenol, and as long as it doesn't have any extra things in it that tylenol does not. If the bottle doesn't give enough info, don't take it. ANd by the way, you suck. 106lbs. I'm jealous.
from libbyo :
Just tylenol, tylenol, tylenol, unless of course you want a baby with three arms ;)
from mommies :
Hey Sam! We need a new bio from you for the members page :)
from byfirstlight :
No worrying. Hear me? Happy thoughts only. And I'm sending many of them your way :)
from marlen816 :
Praying for you and Boo!
from libbyo :
Hi Hon, sorry that you have to go through all this and worry so much. I don't blame you in the least. Just really take care of yourself, get a lot of rest, take it EASY and eat when you are hungry (take your folic acid too ;) ) I will be praying for you and "boo"
from libbyo :
Samantha, I found you through mommies and I am so happy for you! I am expecting myself at the moment, so I will be reading you regularly! If you haven't yet, get the girlfriends guide to pregnancy, I am reading it right now and finding it hilarious, plus, I think it helps a lot of women relax about a lot of the issues with pregnancy. Good luck to you! You will be in my prayers!
from byfirstlight :
Hey Sam, I saw that your gold membership ran out. Do you need me to host your images for you or anything?
from marlen816 :
Sam - I am sooooo happy for you and Tim! You definitely deserve the best pregnancy ever! ((HUGS))
from marlen816 :

from supermommy :
Congratulations Sam! Candace is so excited for you and I'm just happy for you now as well!
from twisted-mind :
Hi, I'm from the mommies diary. Congrats! I hope everything goes well for you and your husband!
from judybean :
congratulations to you and Tim!! Of course, I have to agree with other noters and say that stress is just as bad if not worse than your lifting, so just let it go. It certainly isn't going to help any to keep worrying. Focus now on the joy inside you (literally) and go from there!
from me-undaunted :
congratulations!! i'm so excited for you!! :o)
from byfirstlight :
Sam!! I'm so excited!! I'm incredibly happy for you. So much that I'm giddy right now. Yes, giddy! Yay!!! Go put your feet up and send Tim to go buy you cake and ice cream. And pickles. And watermelon. Hee. Congratulations!!
from lukeysmama :
Hooray! Congratulations! Now go relax and stay off your feet! And try not to worry too much. :)
from babicharmz :
Congradulations!
from marlen816 :
YEA!!!!! Prayers for no spotting and a great report on Wednesday. And don't worry yourself so much - stress is just as bad for the baby. I am so excited for you and Tim!!!!
from byfirstlight :
Oh, I hope so. *crosses fingers*
from marlen816 :
Thanks for the sweet note in my guestbook! It is amazing how close I can feel to someone I have never personally met! Thanks again. you made my day and you made me cry!
from marlen816 :
Praying Tim gets that bib tonight!
from sweetycheeks :
I haven't tried to become pregnant yet with my husband, but I can only imagine how much more emotion transpires after a miscarriage. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
from sillers :
Sorry, also, could I have the links that you sent to your friend in your email to her? My email address is [email protected] thank you so much!
from sillers :
I just wanted to tell you that I stumbled across your diary and read every single entry. Faith be with you, one day you will hold the baby of your dreams in your arms, looking into its eyes, seeing your world shine back at you.

Still praying for you, especially now! ((Hugs))
from jwf :
I too had a miscarriage. It was july 4th weekend and i was at the end of 5 weeks gestation so i know what you are going through. I wanted to be pregnant again as soon as possible. I am 38 (almost 39) so i'm in a big hurry. I just found out last week that we are pregnant again which after miscarriage has its own set of issues. Best of luck to you. I read you entry about your friend who has to terminate her pregnancy and it does make our problems pale by comparison. j
from bytwilight :
Aha! See, I think I will start using it too. Except I will make sure to mention each and every time that the D stands for DUMB, not dear. Heehee
from byfirstlight :
What in the hell does DH stand for? I see that on lots of diaries lately and I have no idea. Help a clueless girl out. Dickhead? Damn Hives? Doogie Howser?
from marlen816 :
Thanks for your gb note. lol It was just what I needed. I really needed to laugh. Now I can't stop! lol Thanks again! And thanks for the explanation about the cat. We are giving our cat to our ILs because he has gone wacko since the baby and our move.
from marlen816 :
Can't have the cat anymore or can't have a baby??
from marlen816 :
Sorry to hear about your friend's loss. But, I believe what the verses in I Corinthians say, when we go through a tragedy it will later be used to comfort others. You are being a great comfort, I am sure. And if you need to talk about your miscarriage then talk about it or write about it, but get it out! It can't help keeping it in. ((Hugs)) and prayers for you.
from me-undaunted :
I remember when I was pregnant back in September of 2000, when I first remarried. My husband's best friend's wife found out she was pregnant too, and we were due in the same month. The week of Thanksgiving, I went to a regular prenatal checkup, the OB did an ultrasound and we discovered that my baby had died. There was no amniotic sac, and he/she had been dead for days. So on Thanksgiving day, they put me to sleep and had him/her "removed". The following week, I was at the local supermarket and I ran into my pregnant friend. She knew I had had a miscarriage, and she stood there all bubbly and giddy and telling me about her morning sickness and blah blah blah. I could've throttled her! I just remember how hard it was to be around her during her entire pregnancy, and as a result, our friendship suffered. I understand what youre going through and I'm sorry that you're suffering like this.
from msguided :
(((Hugs)))
from marlen816 :
Praying for you! I can't imagine what you are going through.
from marlen816 :
Had lots of fun checking out your website. My wedding (7/22/00) was also an outdoor wedding and guess what? My colors were lavendar and yellow! Anyway, I enjoyed your pics and am adding you to my favs list. Praying for you.....
from byfirstlight :
You should look into those ovulation kits that they sell at the store. They're right next to the pregnancy tests. I know nothing about them, though. I've just glanced at them.
from catsnapples :
Thanks for signing my guestbook. The layout is new and I love it too. Twiggle, who designed it, figured me out exactly. :)
from judybean :
Hooray for ovulation, you're in my thoughts and prayers.
from mommies :
A big Yay! For ovulation!
from byfirstlight :
Oh, I hope you kicked him in the nuts - hard - for that!
from me-undaunted :
i got pregnant this last time in january, and let me tell you, it sucked being huge in the summer! i had gone home to hawaii in june, and then spent the rest of the summer in this heat hole in sc. ugh!! i'm not sure where you live and how hot it gets in the summer, but maybe you should skip getting pregnant at xmas :o)~
from lukeysmama :
Hi, I found you through Mommies! I'm very sorry about your loss. I wish you all the luck in conceiving again! Hopefully I'll be reading another preggo diary soon! Good luck! :)
from jwf :
I too am trying to conceive after miscarriage. My road to pregnancy was not an easy one but i thought once we conceived, we had finally achieved what we set out to do. it was the most heartbreaking things that ever has happened to me (my miscarriage). i'm on my 3rd cycle trying to conceive again. hope it works out for both of us. j
from mandypandy83 :
Aww, thank you so much :). It's very good to hear. Your layout has the most precious image by the way!
from me-undaunted :
I'm sorry about your miscarriage, I know first hand how painful that is to go through. My sister in law was also diagnosed with endometriosis and her doc also told her to have a baby now or never. I wish you lots of luck and I look forward to reading your baby diary, hint hint :o)
