Hey grizz, I'm not polishing the ole halo yet, but there are times when I feel like surele this pennance has GOT to count for something. I think the tax laws have changed, don't they always, and to claim childcare expenses you must now be the custodial parent. What a load of crap! I've half a mind to copy all of my receipts and mail them to the congressman and ask him/her why can't I claim this since I'm parent to these kids in everyway but legally. And yeah, I do do my own taxes. I use tax cut from H&R Block. The last time I had someone do them for me it cost me over $200 and it hurts my feelings to give away that much of my hard-earned money for someone to spend 15 minutes on my stuff. So I decided that for $50 I could get all the software I needed and do it myself. It's really easy and I do sis' taxes too. Neither of us e-file...I don't mind waiting, so long as it gets here. I just want to thank you so much for the silly-ass picture I have in my head of my fat self attempting to belly dance. I have heard it's lots of fun and great exercise...after all, when's the last time you saw a fat belly dancer?

Thanks for the sympathy. Sounds like you and HD are in 7th Heaven...GOOD FOR YOU!!! He sounds like a real prince and not just a toad in disguise!
from lizzzygizzzy :
Griz, thanks so much for your note of encouragement! I love ya girl--and I am sooo happy for you and Hucky Dunky. It's so good to read your journal and read something happy!
from loki-katt :
Oh, see I thought one of the perks of owning your own place was doing noisy household chores whenever the hell the mood struck you...like vacuuming at 2am! I have the same problem with the housework lack...except mine will occasionally clean up a tiny bit...not enough to really be noticed, but then act all put out when I don't notice. Well let's see I wade through trash to get to my room and stick to the floor every step of the way and I'm supposed to notice that you finally took out the trash from 3 weeks ago?!? I've decided I'm going to have to be the one to move...but only because there are grandbabies involved. Oh, and I couldn't agree more with junkmel...marketing=ewww! [pinching noise, rolling eyes, and my best yucky diaper voice]
from junkmel1 :
Hi Griz! I'm up late, too, working on an appeal. I'm headed to bed now, though, and glad I don't have to get the kids up early for school. Marketing = gross. I took that in college and HATED it. Hated economics, too. Hope DIL grows up some soon!!
from junkmel1 :
Hoo boy, that is funny! (But not!) Glad you're okay...I am chuckling, though, because I would have been dropping and rolling while batting at my hair! :)
from junkmel1 :
Ouch. Been there, done that on the finger slicing. Must be those shared genes. :) I tried to comment on your post about the wedding plans last week, but the server kept crashing. Anyway, it sounds great, and I hope everything works out just perfect for y'all!!! As for the dog in the trash, time for a very tall, step-on-to-open metal trash can. I keep our dog food in one of those (lined with a trash bag, of course). Cost $42 at Wal-Mart, I think, but it still works great. Seals shut pretty good.
from loki-katt :
Congrats on firming up the date. eHarmony, huh? I'll keep that in mind when I'm ready. Right now I just have too much to worry with to add that to the mix. BTW, I did post some peeves, on any given day the list can vary tho. :-)
from junkmel1 :
First of all, I can't believe Thelma is old enough to drive. Isn't she just a little girl?? Where does the time go???? Second of all, I'm laughing now, but cowering at the thought of teaching mine to drive. OS already thinks he should be able to drive, since we make him drive the riding lawnmower. I'm shuddering, I tell you. Shuddering.
from lizzzygizzzy :
Griz! That is such great and happy news. I am so happy for you and HD.
from shear-madnez :
Congrats!!!!
from loki-katt :
Oh. MY. GOD!! That is such wonderful news! Hmmm...guess that does make you a princess, huh? :-) I'm so happy for you. Looks like you got the fairytale honey. Now when you finished with the godmother, send her my way...I could use a touch of magic in my life.
from junkmel1 :
Wowowowowow! That is wonderful news!!! And hey, you're experienced at planning weddings, arent' you? :)
from cinzel :
CONGRATULATIONS!!! That is wonderful news, griz!!! Wish y'all lots and lots of happiness...and the occasional bitchin'. :)
from junkmel1 :
Oh but misery does love company...I feel like I just bitch all the time, but dammit I am NOT impressed when they do the most basic of picking up after themselves and think I should be impressed. So are you telling me when the kids get grown it won't be any better??? :) At least then it'll just be Keith that doesn't help with the menial household labor chores.
from loki-katt :
You have some lovely memories. You ought to consider writing them down someplace and leaving them to future grandkids...they might not be interested when they're young, but when they get older they will be.
from junkmel1 :
That was beautiful. I swear I feel like I was there with you. I know your grandparents and parents are so happy to see y'all all get together and have such a good time.:)
from junkmel1 :
You sound so happy it makes me smile just to read your entry!!! And you're so productive, too...working on the house is hard work, but it sounds like you've got a lot of help. Hope you have a FABULOUS weekend! P.S. I don't recall ever having an urp pan...:)
from junkmel1 :
I wish I could name just one pressure I have, but right now it's coming from all directions. Most of them work-related. If it wasn't for that paycheck, I'd stop going to that place. I'm also having pretty serious computer problems, of which I have pages and pages of work on that computer...color me biting my nails. In fact, tonight I'm typing this on a very old and s.l.o.w. computer. Glad to hear you so happy! I'll be around again soon, just don't know when.
from shear-madnez :
ABATE does wonderful things for kids in my area. What an awesome organization! Glad you and your fella are having some fun.
from loki-katt :
I know what you mean about being changed by the recent events. You can't be human and not be. On a lighter note - GO GRIZ! I think I may have found your 14 pounds. :-( WEll not all of them, but sometimes it feels like it. I'm hoping to talk my doc into some surgery soon too...I've had enough of the monthly frustration (if it were anything like regular/normal I might be willing to live with it). Hmmm...so H/D B-friend is moving on in, eh? Good for you! Make sure you tell him that doctor's orders...breakfast in bed at least once a week! ;-) enjoy!!
from cinzel :
Glad everything went well and you're having a speedy recovery!! Of course, being "in luuuuuuve" always makes the pain go away quicker!! :) Happy for you!!
from junkmel1 :
Go You! Send some of that momentum my way!!
from cinzel :
Way to go, Griz...with the weight loss and with the new man!! The best incentive is having a man in the picture. You'll sweat buckets to keep him from grabbing a fat roll!! :) Have fun!!
from loki-katt :
Love your new layout. You guys are making me look shabby...all of you with this flashy stuff and me with just a plain little ole webpage. :-( Pooor Loki. ;-)
from loki-katt :
Congrats on semi-retirement! I know right now it seems like you're going to have so much time on your hands, but trust me before long you'll wonder how you ever found time for job 2 in your busy schedule. :) Sounds like you're well on you way with the Bowflex and TBL...keep up the great work!
from cinzel :
Good luck!! Sounds like the willpower is locked in place...good for you!!
from loki-katt :
You'll have to ask junkmel about a little dog her folks used to have...Ian. He was a Basenji and cute but the devil himself lived in those eyes. Once he snatched Ms. Willie's partial off the night stand and was running around with a human tooth hanging out his mouth. Junkmel said the other dog, a boxer named Jel, always looked embarrassed to be associated with him.
from summer-gale :
I Hope the 2nd job can go by March. It's tough letting go of money that you got used to having but the time is worth more.
from summer-gale :
Grats on the new puppy! I think everyone hates their dog by the end of that first year and then it starts to get better every year after. So I can see what your next year will be like right now! HAHA! Happy New Year to you and yours!
from summer-gale :
Go to the page where you add an entry then look in the list to the left and under "OtherStuff" you will see an option to "Edit Your Notes Settings" Click on that and you will have a choice "Click here to edit individual notes". You can delete it from there.
from summer-gale :
You could email me from my web page. Just hover over the oar and the email link will appear. I'd be happy to share it with you.
from loki-katt :
We all know you're just saving your energy for the retelling of the trip! (and yeah, that's a hint!) :-) Enjoy! I hear the Blue Mountain coffee is wonderful stuff!
from junkmel1 :
Woohoo to the trip! I know you must be so excited and READY to go. I miss having any trees on our property. It's true, we have not one tree, save for the crape myrtle in a pot my sister-in-law gave me when Mike died. I do plan to plant it and hopefully another one or two in a few weeks, though. But yuck to the leaf raking. We had a huge tree in Louisiana that produced millions of leaves. I so hated that damn tree in the fall, but I so loved it in the summer as it cooled off the house!
from junkmel1 :
Oh my God! We are related!! I worked in a grocery store deli, too, but I only cut one finger. :snicker giggle snort: We'd be sooo dangerous together!
from lizzzygizzzy :
I love those wedding pictures--it looks like everything turned out perfectly!! Best wishes to the happy couple and one of their moms! :)
from junkmel1 :
I wish y'all much luck, but I don't think you'll need it. Sounds like y'all have everything running perfectly!!
from junkmel1 :
Hey, just giving you a shout to let you know I didn't forget y'all. We had to make a quick trip down to Louisiana (not a big deal, no emergencies or bad news, just a timing thing for some work on Mike's house) that could only be done now. I'll be back at work on the jewelry next week, though. Quick question: Are the bridesmaids wearing red dresses? Thought I might try to put together some bracelets, if I have enough crystals left over.
from lizzzygizzzy :
thanks grizmom for that info!! I will definately check into seeing if they have a class and save myself some money. If I ever have a job like that again I will card EVERYBODY! Great Grandpa will get carded from me!
from lizzzygizzzy :
What a wonderful birthday!! Congrads on the new car.
from thruthefire :
Awwww thanks! I kept plenty busy tonight with laundry and TV thank goodness. Cass comes home tomorrow morning so that's good. Hope you have a Merry Christmas and Santa brings you everything you wanted!!!
from thruthefire :
Thanks for the note! Apparently I'm not PC smart either because I responded back to you, but I put them on MY notes ha ha ha. Anyway thanks for writing back. I think we're from the same area, or so it seems. If you want to add me, you click on "edit your profile" there under OTHER STUFF and the first thing you can click on is to add people to your buddy list. You type in my name in the field there and click on the edit button or whatever it says and you should be done! Glad to see I'm not the only crazy one from this area on Diaryland! ha ha ha
from thruthefire :
Hi, stumbled across your diary from the list from Nebraska. I'm in Nebraska too. Nice to read you!
from cinzel :
Keep the encouragement comin'!! I ate decent yesterday but didn't move any. I've got to get the exercising to fall on the good eating days! You're doing great though!! Good for you! And you're right...we can do this and we will!!
from nycme :
Thanks for your note. I'm so very sorry for your loss. You'll be in my prayers. {{{{Hugs}}}}} to you.
from summer-gale :
Thank you SO much. I'm so afraid right now. I appreciate one human reaching out to another in a similar circumstance that I know only you can understand.
from grizmom :
Just leaving a note for you so you can see how this feature works. I got your stats set up now, too. The sc.rr address you see listed is mine.
