recreational beekeeping! what a lovely hobby for a parent to have. and yes, i'm going to see the books in davis tomorrow night. i technically don't have the time, but i've been looking forward to it for months and months, so how can i not go, really? and it's FREE, so if you have the time/inclination, perhaps you should stop by, too.

i just found out that the books are playing in davis in may and i am beside myself with excitement. you should stop by!

i have realized since posting that entry that i have a very masochistic relationship with scrabble, as i'm actually pretty awful at it and probably too impatient and easily frustrated to ever actually improve. losing to people i know (relatively speaking, anyway) is much better than losing to online strangers, though, so yes! im me sometime and we'll play a game.

so i went to the one place rumored to carry cabinet and the issue they had was so pretty and strange and lovely that i had to buy it! thank you for telling me about this magical magazine. so far i've read about robot sex, donuts, and fossilized dinosaur poop. i figure this is time very well spent.

Hi. Thank you for thinking I'm one of your favorite diaries. I'll read yours soon. Til then-

!!! how hilarious. i have a sneaking suspicion that i know exactly which sidekick you're talking about, although i don't suppose the notes section of diaryland is really the proper forum to use to see if my guess is correct. do you ever use aim, maybe? we should gossip sometime.

psst. did you know joshua clover is in my department? it's true! once when i passed him in the hallway of the english department's building i noticed that he happened to be wearing a hole shirt. ha!

new home?

o dear, somehow i'd read the entry before and the entry after, but not the one that actually had the link to the books review. sometimes i forget that people may write more than one entry in a day, which is somewhat silly seeing how i occasionally do the same thing myself (usually to cover up an entry that feels a bit too revealing). and o, ms. forest is awfully formal, don't you think? -- jolie

just in case you haven't seen it already, i thought i'd mention that our beloved music site pitchfork has an interview with the books. (by the way, has your review been published just yet?) also, totally unrelated, but the courtney love insight was quite interesting. it's rather hard to picture her having a younger brother, somehow. or any sort of familial relations at all, really. hmm.
from novembre :
Thank you. The quote really sold me. Am now electronically striding over to the Powell's books site to locate said book!
from novembre :
i'm with you. i wish i could give a lot of people one last punch!
from novembre :
i like your diary as well. oaklandish, hear us roar.
from likeaforest :
ooo, lately i'm very addicted to that new books album as well.
from might :

update April 6, 2020: Sorry, we just had 8+ hours downtime due to a server problem. Restoring from backups took soooo long, but everything is back and no data was lost. Ay yay yay! Anyhow, hope everyone is well with the virus stuff.
