from habbit :
i've been there. sugar falls into the white-powder category along with caffiene, flour, & cocaine. love to hate em. i prefer snickers as a method of delivery.
from habbit :
try using ad-aware against that spyware
from habbit :
get mp3's of that new miles davis 'jack johnson sessions'... its all 'on the corner' 'pangea' breakbeats and fonk. it's like listening to _gravities rainbow_. hectic. have you heard biota?
from argolam :
"lick my yogurt container"--Even though you didn't use it as a euphemism, can I do it? Neat diary, by the way.
from habbit :

from cdghost :
enjoyed your words..all the best
from weezel :
LOVE the new kitty photo! She looks just like my Shiva except that my kitty's eyes are a bit greener. Wish I could post photos but I am too cheap for a gold membership 'cause I am a very poor student. I'll try to get some links up for my two kitties. Have a good day! Joelle
from habbit :
im sorry i couldnt make it to the show =( how was it?
from insilico :

from insilico :
i love that you and amy are still carrying the torch for otter pops!

from habbit :

from insilico :
Depp said he based his performance on Keith Richards!
from habbit :

from weezel :
Where can you get good Chococat stuff? Have never seen an actual episode of "Hello Kitty" but Chococat is so damn cute!!! I've been to Sanrio at West Edmonton Mall (I live in Edmonton unfortunately) but they didn't have much stuff. I've tried the net but no luck. Any suggestions?
from weezel :
Yes, I'm in the process of getting a webpage and I'll post a link to it so you can see my cats someday!
from weezel :
Is that your cat pictured on the left? She looks like my cat, Shiva!
from insilico :
Unagi! (trans: "I cheer your stellar academic performance with eel since that is the only japanese i know")
from insilico :
Unagi! (trans: "I cheer your stellar academic performance with eel since that is the only japanese i know")
from habbit :
my trip has been delayed, mainly due to a shift in my work situation. late june/july sounds more like it. rinpoches are rockers, I like chogyam trungya, one of the tibetians who came here in the late 60s/70s. fuck burgie, pabst!
from habbit :
its hard to say no. like you want to fix a person, let alone yourself. drumming is probably a good way to do both. do you know lee reynaldo's 'from here to infinity' lp?
from habbit :
i think 'pocket monster' is the literal translation of 'pokemon', though I think for the US audience the term sounds a little too much like playing pocket pool (so to speak). pocket pocket pocket!
from itrymybest :
I want to go to Japan with you!
from habbit :
congrats on finishing your semester. you in LA in early june?
from eyesonthesky :
Oy, filming? Cheer mom says there are pink skirts like our new black ones at Windsor in the mall...
from habbit :
Isnt Cowboy BeBop good? Wow. I've been marvelling over NeonGenesis Ep 5 (?), the one where Asuka is introduced. What a mindblower. It's choreographed like a dance piece. Can you recommend some good zeni geva? I was into their(his) work a while back, along with KK Null, Merzbow, Gerogerogegege, etc, but have no idea what they've been up to since Alt Tentacles.
from habbit :
COIL! Let me know if you're going. I went to DEMF a couple of years ago and it was too hmmmm ravey. MUTEK sounds all effete and high-class. Mebbe I meet you up there.
from eyesonthesky :
Nick Rhodes all the way.
from habbit :
what kind of band is it? is that knitting factory LA? maybe ill start a band, ive never done that...
from liekakoira :
Hey. :) I checked your diary since I joined the carsingers diaryring. You have a cute cat on your diary. :)
from habbit :
i eat wafer cookies, when i sugar binge. or chocolate bars... or nutrageous bars, which are off the scale of sugar snacks.
from habbit :
srl is the best. where/when is the show? ive seen them a bunch of times, always worthwhile. im sure with the govt where it is theyll pull out the stops.
from habbit :
freaky-deaky. my mom and dad were both in episodes too.
from habbit :
gerry anderson is a pretty facinating guy. a visionary of some kind. 'thunderbirds' is so epic (and occasionally boring), but those MODELS... holy moley. his design skills were way ahead of their time.
from habbit :
holy moly, i saw lightningbolt play a few months ago w/ deerhoof. both bands blew me away. i like bolt better live and deerhoofs 'reville' i like on cd.
from floor-corn :
$50 to videotape?!?! No way! Does that mean for $50 they'll videotape it for you, or they charge $50 just for you to bring your own camera in? At this rate, the Durty Bombs Video Anthology will never be complete...
from lady-pilot :
I always felt the same way after Japanese class too.
from habbit :
...and you have a pagan mom? thats pretty cool.
from habbit :
you know, with all this 80s synth pop coming back, the one band thats been missing is Missing Persons. that 1st lp of theirs is *really* good and I dont think theyve rereleased it for some reason.
from darklily :
Terry Bozzio is really quite incredible... I don't think I could remember half of his scarily huge kit, let alone play it. And yes, this is quite a pointless message on the whole, but it was just so nice to hear Bozzio's name mentioned outside of my family...
from habbit :
wow, you're my hero. napalm death *and* voivod?!?!?!? i remember voivods 1st lp being absolutely SICK, and then they sort of fell off. im surprised theyre even around. i saw sepultura a couple of years ago in SF and it blew me away. I had some friends who got heavy into the black metal thing but I couldnt handle it. then got into hardcore japanese noise bands. ah those were the days. yeah dig dug sucks, ill be frank with you. its cute and all but doesnt have much staying power. ps1 games are fun though. last console i had was a dreamcast, i was in love with it.
from habbit :
napalm death!?!!??! i didnt know they were still around. i used to be a fan of melvins, carcass, and early sepultura. napalm too. where'd they play?
from habbit :
You're in SF too? Cool. I know Wobbly quite well, he's an old friend, as is Ryan who does visuals for Sagan. Wobbly's 'Wild Why' is really an incredible piece of work, and his earlier stuff, while not quite as slick, is good e-music in the Negativland vein. Have no idea what Sagan is like, but I bet its probably a good time. Have a good time!
from habbit :
yoga is good. i did the hot-box style in SF, but havent since i've been an ex-pat on the east coast. i try to do it on my own now, not quite as easy or fun, but it gets the job done.
from habbit :
yes! i love cowboy bebop! last one i was heavy into was neon genesis. i have a softspot for giant robots, but miyazake is my favorite. let's talk shop later. happy holidays.
from habbit :
you like electronic music *and* you like miyazake's work? paradise!
from insilico :
i just sent you an email and got some random error message my poor brain is too feeble to understand. i hope it got thru but if not i'll try again tomorrow (oh no, so late, oh no).
from eyesonthesky :
Her name is Mandi. I've been using "heinous" a lot.
from jcruelty :
suge knight is frickin scary. 8bit music rocks : http://auteurtheory.diaryland.com/010612_53.html
from eyesonthesky :
Did you eat a fried Snickers bar on a stick?!
from itrymybest :
random, silly thing that for some reason i've been telling people today: david lynch's brother-in-law and his family were at our wedding (peter was in boy scouts with their kids). and i had a crush on one of the lynch boys.
from floor-corn :
Make sure you cartwheel down my street! I live only a few blocks from you now and I could sure use that kind of entertainment. ;)
from jcruelty :
i would love to hear recordings of a week's worth of conversation. it's funny cos i've always thought of myself as articulate (and i am, to some extent-- especially on the page) but my friend pointed out the other day that i say "right" all the time, especially when telling stories. it's as bad as people who say "like" 50 times per second. gotta work on it. but at the same time, don't want to sound stiff or pretentious... right?
from eyesonthesky :
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
from kate-san :
Never read your diary, but it must kick ass given that your screenname is "catbus." Totoro is the shit, yo! You should join the ring. That's really all I have to say, heheh.
from itrymybest :
oh. my. god. "my parents are probably calling me barbara!" (maniacal munchkin laughter.)
from jcruelty :
rivers & tides is playing at the roxie in san francisco, shattuck theatres in berkeley. in LA... i don't know but in such a metropolis it surely must be playing.
from itrymybest :
have you considered submitting that photo to mycathatesyou.com?
from jcruelty :
how was the lesser/sagan show? i saw them a few days back & thought they were pretty good. even though 'click click click' on the laptop is not as cool as rockstars in mink coats doing kicksplits & such
from eyesonthesky :
"The Cheerleaders." Tomorrow night. Be here or swelter to death in your own place...
from eyesonthesky :
Vince is a murderer?
from eyesonthesky :
FROOTY MCNOSEY!!!
from insilico :
All aboard the drunken cat bus! (err, I didn't mean it in quite *that* way.)
from eyesonthesky :
hel-LOOO, you wear black on the outside 'cause black is how you feel on the inside.
from shaima :
nice diary. your a good writer~ *shaima*
from insilico :
almost forgot: EEEWWWWWWWWWWWWW
from insilico :
haha this was EXACTLY the sort of entry I was just about to write. Fuck it, I'll do it anyway. I only sing dance songs to my cat, the most recent being "Little Fluffy Cats" and "I See You Baby Shaking That Cat Shaking That Cat Shaking That Cat".
from eyesonthesky :
why did i look? why did i look?
from eyesonthesky :
hooray! You would've had another year on the waiting list anyway.
from eyesonthesky :
My dad once told me a story about the Pittsburgh Plate Glass factory. When they made a flawed sheet of glass, instead of immediately melting it down again, they'd bring it downstairs into a room that was open 24 hours. The public could go to said room (for free? Maybe not), where they were permitted to throw rocks at the glass. It would be swept up, and the next flawed pane brought in. I heard this story years ago and it has always seemed like Amazingland to me. And, sista, I gots cramps.
from lelapin :
"Blowing their Barm" I fear that sentence greatly- what the hell is a 'barm'?
from itrymybest :
there's no such thing as a special occasion for swearing for me, as you well know. hee, i used to feel embarrassed at how much i cursed around you when i was gm, but i just can't not curse. little did i know that you started at an even younger age than i did (junior high did it to me). what's really funny is that the spouse's work installed an e-mail filtering system and so every time the word "fuck" slips in to one of my e-mails to him (as it often does), i receive a message saying that the e-mail has been "quarantined" due to "inappropriate sexual content." (i sent the administrator a polite, swear-word free note pointing out that the use of the word "fuck" in an e-mail about selling my refrigerator does not equal inappropriate sexual content and detailed the drawbacks of systems like theirs. i don't think they cared.) more random swearing things: i have more or less developed the ability to turn my swearing off and on based on whether or not i'm around my parents (they would never approve). and, the spouse doesn't swear at all. at all, ever. but he thinks my swearing is endearing.
from eyesonthesky :
madness...takes its toll. But listen closely...
from sweet-madnes :
I've read your name in itrymybest. Then I was delighted to see it again on the yoga diary ring. I like your cat. namaste
from eyesonthesky :
hahahahahahahahaha snow cootch
from nikatron :
hi... i found this little group of diaries... and i love them! go san-x, go pocky, go car singers etc. so... i joined the ring.
from itrymybest :
your diary is quite interesting to me as it is. i feel like noting that i don't write about sex to make my diary interesting or to call attention to the fact that i'm having it every now and again; i write about it when it stands out in my mind enough to write about it, just like anything else. i don't think one needs "spicy" things to make one's journal interesting. half of the time, that kind of stuff is incredibly dull.
from eyesonthesky :
second opinion, second opinion!
from eyesonthesky :
Despite it being car SINGERS, now I can't get "Car Trouble" out of my head. Car car car car car TROUBLE!
from itrymybest :
lots of pocky + hello kitty body glitter pens + i don't know, an anime movie i should see or something? = fun for all that could be had quite soon?
from itrymybest :
hello kitty body glitter pens? when? now?
from eyesonthesky :
Glitter pens? It's quarter to 1am...can I come over now???
from itrymybest :
as far as i am concerned, you can read as much of my diary as you like, if you actually want to. just as long as you don't decide you know everything about me and therefore don't need to talk to me in person. :) now . . . add us to your favorite diaries list!
from eyesonthesky :
woooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!
from itrymybest :
WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!
