It’s been a long time! I hope that things have gotten better for you since you posted years ago…. Sending best wishes.
from falo :
my daughter is 9 years old and my son almost 4. Wow. wonderful, your kids. Wishing you well.
from falo :
Hi caligirl. I hope you and your family are well. Sometimes I miss the good old days of foot loose and fancy-free.
from starkitten01 :
I understand what you're going through as far as the loss of your beloved pet and the tension in your marriage.. I am dealing with it, myself, though the marital strain is stemming from different triggers. I, too, miss my sweet little dog and I blame myself for not being able to save her somehow.. I fight a daily battle with that and not a day goes by that I do not cry. I wish with all of my heart that you and your Husband can work things out and find a peaceful and loving place once again in your lives. You have a lot to be very happy about and thankful for, like your beautiful little girl and your personal goals for this year.. Don't ever forget that. You deserve the very best. I will be hoping for a wonderful outcome for you, and I am sending you many long-distance hugs. Please hang in there <3
from acornotravez :
Cali, sounds like it's time for some counseling. I'm sorry you're unhappy right now. Love you, girl. Wish I could come over and share a bottle of wine with you.
from acornotravez :
YaY! Caligirl updated! We still need to go out for margaritas sometime... but for now I'll drink for the both of us! LOVE u.
from acornotravez :
Your entry made me smile... you glow girl!!! =]
from acornotravez :
Dude, your life is such a 180 from when I first started reading you... WOW! I'm just so so so *happy* for you! =D
from silentswirl :
Caligirl, I have been MIA forever... but I want you to know... I still read! I am so so so elated for you. Congratulations. Congratulations!!!!! (and update more) :)
from starkitten01 :
Congratulations on your baby girl! Many well wishes<3
from acornotravez :
Hi! I miss you!!! I know you're super-immersed in baby-ness now, your whole world's probably upside down! Just wanted to let you know that I'm thinking about you and hope you had a nice Christmas and Happy New Year! 2010's going to be the year of Caligirl! Love, Acorn
from falo :
Hi Cali. I will look forward to hearing all about your beautiful new baby, and her deeply-touched by all of the beauty Grandfather. Best thoughts and wishes. O.
from acornotravez :
CONGRATULATIONS!!!! I'm so freakin happy for you!
from acornotravez :
The universe loves you!!! =]
from falo :
Hi Cali. Congratulations on everything. You certainly have my best wishes for the wedding, the baby and the family. Warm regards, O.
from silentswirl :
I'm still keeping tabs on you Dear Cali! Congratulations!! As someone who has read your life day in and day out for the last 6plus years.. Ive got say... you're going to be a kick-ass mom. No doubt. Let your mom and dad know. They deserve this joy. You deserve the fun of watching them partake in it. Don't be scared. Ever. Thinking of you... Krista/Silentswirl.
from sundaygirl :
glad to be of service! and i don't care what anyone says - you are never, ever ready for a baby no matter how prepared you think you might be. just go with the flow, take it one hour at a time, and you will blink one day and realize that child is walking and talking. it all goes by so fast. so fast.
from lisaannlm :
I'm glad to hear things are looking up for you and don't feel guilty about not sharing your news, the less said, the better for now
from lonelylatina :
6/30/09 - congratulations!
from acornotravez :
I have these friends that got preggers out of wedlock, and they didn't get married until 4 years after the kid was born. Their son *remembers* being in the wedding. It's not big deal to them. Just do it when you're ready. There's not that stigma anymore of having a kid out of wedlock, you know?
from lisaannlm :
I'm so sorry you're sick, I know what that was like. In the early stages of my pregnancy with my son I had a severe respritory infection and I was so paranoid that the medicines I was on would cause him to have problems. The doctor told me it was better to take them than to put myself and him at risk, and he was right. As for the marriage thing, I kinda know about that too. My son's dad, now my ex husband, stalled on making any firm comittments until right before I gave birth. I could be negative, but I think this is just a guy thing. They don't have to carry the baby, so alot of times they prefer to go about their lives as if its business as usual until the exact moment. At any rate I'm sure he'll come around. I'm an optimist, I'd like to believe he truly loves you and your baby, but at present he's just clueless as to what he can and should be doing. Not that I would presume to give advice, but perhaps if you encouraged him to become more involved in things to prepare for the baby's arrival such as shopping for clothes, assembling the crib, or taking part in childbirth classes, he might be more inclined to see things from your POV. Alot of hospitals have expectant dads classes and daddy boot camps. If you can find one that's free or at low cost in your area, I would certainly encourage him to attend. GOOD LUCK & CONGRATS... Lisaann
from acornotravez :
Ok, so when's *your* due date?!?!? (I'm really excited for you, Cali!) Sorry, it's hard to write everything in just one note, I don't mean to sound overly excited. =] But YaY!
from acornotravez :
Tomorrow will be fine, just take some deep breaths, everything's going to be OK, Cali.
from lonelylatina :
Girl, in regards to the engagement thing i think it's best that you come out and tell him what you want. It's my opinion that men can be very dense when it comes to this type of stuff. If you don't want to tell him straight out then I suggest that you play the song "Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It) by Beyonce, over and over again until he finally gets the hint :-) good luck <3
from acornotravez :
Man, reading your diary made me cry! It's not every day that a human is created out of *love*! Your love for each other has created another soul. Not a lot of people can say that's happened to them. =)
from montage4life :
I'm excited for you and the guy. I hope everything goes smoothly with doctors appointment and telling the family. I'm looking forward to reading about the journey. -Liz
from raschel :
I know exactly what you are talking about. Sometimes life goes really crazy ways. I was very desperate then.
from lonelylatina :
O M G! congrats cali! wishing you guys the best. keep us posted <3
from acornotravez :
Honey, I'm thinking about you! Have a great vacation with the man you love! Life is crazy, fragile and beautiful.
from acornotravez :
Dude, I haven't read your diary in *forever* and whaaaa?! you're moving in with your boyfriend? *I* am moving in with my boyfriend, too! That's is such a cool coincidence. It sounds like you are doing so groovy. I think 2009 is going to be a groovy year, what do you think? =)
from starkitten01 :
I have entire entries devoted to how much I am also *not* a stay-at-home/domesticated type.. I have been searching for a job every few months for nearly two years now, to no avail. It has been pretty frustrating, and I, too, have felt that I am completely "without purpose" because I haven't been able to find what I'm looking for. I didn't realize until probably about six or so months ago, just how bad the economy is and how much it is playing a role in my inability to find even a lousy part time/temporary job. I was reading your entry, yet again feeling like I had actually written it myself, LOL! Our parallels are eerie. But in a neat kinda way. I have my fingers crossed for you that everything works out in your favor, and that you do find what makes you feel better about life : ) I'm sure you will! <3
from starkitten01 :
Comforting is a good word :-) Definitely a true statement! Your comment about the 'best friend' thing, come to think of it, I couldn't agree more. I don't know what I'd do without my little pug, she has been there for me and with me through thick and thin. I don't know a single time that I've ever been disappointed in her. Ever. And I never will be. She never let's me down. My boyfriend *and* friends, on the other hand... *Sigh*. I second your comment; Here's to hoping that we both 'find our way!' I always look forward to reading your updates, keep up the good work :-) And hang in there with the preparations for your boyfriends move into your place!! <3
from starkitten01 :
Your entry from 1/17 hit home with me. You sounded *just* like me! Not only the relationship thoughts, but with your thoughts on having children, as well. I felt like I was reading my own entry there. Incidentally, the way you felt when you wrote the entry on 1/16, I can *also* identify with that one, myself! God, I hope that you find all of the things we're obviously BOTH looking for in life, Etc. and then at least I'll be able to say I witnessed *someone* get there! *hugs* hang in there : ) ~ Starkitten01
from acornotravez :
hi Cali! I've totally missed you! I'm really happy to read your diary and see that things are going so well with you and your man! Doesn't it feel great? I'm just... really happy for you, girl. Sorry the Jamaica travel was so terrible, mon. Hey, Happy 4th of July! -Acorn
from falo :
Hi Cali. Well, in case you don't write again before then, have a wonderful time in Jamaica and congratulations on a major reversal of fortune in the last year. We should all be so fortunate. Cheers, Cali.
from elliestuff :
sweet diary. doing the old couple thing can be just what one needs.
from bebelua :
you know, i was sort of like that with andrew's dog when we first started dating. i mean, i didn't have anything against dogs in theory, but i had a hard time with his anytime she did anything remotely inconvenient (like trying to sleep nex to us, etc). i can't say that i've totally grown to adore her, but my eyes were fully opened when i got my "own" dog (really she belongs to both of us, but i like to claim her as my own). i had never had a dog before, and raising her from a puppy has truly enlightened me on the bond between a person and their dog. i have SO much more patience for andrew and his pup now. i might even sort of love her a little. :) anyway, just a thought. does he have any interest in getting a dog for himself?
from falo :
Hi Cali! Happy Birthday. Please take some time and enjoy yourself. Warm regards, O.
from falo :
Hi Cali. Wow, "i guess it is true what they say...it just happens like that." that's a mouthful. Really, all I can say is congratulations and enjoy. All my best, O.
from polly-esther :
Hi. If you're wondering why you have some crazy stats today, I'm the guilty one. I started somewhere in the middle and I'm not up to any recent entries yet. My diary is locked, but my login is las/vegas, just so you don't think I'm some weird stalker person.
from falo :
Hello Cali. I am terribly sorry to hear about your friend and I am sorry for your loss. I hope the transition of your company goes well for you, whichever direction you may wish. Maybe a little vacation with the new beau is called for, you know, revel in life a bit.
from acornotravez :
It's my turn to leave you a note.... No, life isn't perfect, but you are right - you *can* find the beauty in the imperfections. :)
from falo :
Hi Cali. Excellent news, the rose petals and all. Good luck at the dentist. All my best, O.
from acornotravez :
I'm glad you like my vids - it's such a gamble, putting myself out there, but it's been really educational, as far as learning stuff about myself. Seeing yourself on camera? It's a trip. Man, if I ever get to go to California, we will hang out and have adult beverages, like *real* BFFs.
from acornotravez :
Happy New Year - hope you are having a fabulous time!
from falo :
Ay, Caramba! Nice Santa suit. Also, sounds like a beautiful and romantic evening. Merry Christmas Cali.
from acornotravez :
CROTCHLESS PANTIES! :)
from falo :
Hi Cali. Happy Holidays (2007) to you, your friends and family. Wishing you well.
from acornotravez :
HI CALI! Thanx for the b'day greeting! However, I must confess I did not drink a drop on my b'day. I had chips n salsa for dinner. Fun! :) Well.... so what's this big news? I'm dyin over here.
from bebelua :
so um. hey. you gonna fill us in or leave us all scratching our heads at your cryptic (but awesome!) happy entries? what's goin' on, girlie?
from cellini :
Your guest book doesn't work. I tried twice to write up a pithy observation on the nature of modern American men and signmyguestbook.com crapped out both times. This probably explains why the most recent entry to it is from 2006. Best of luck getting laid/falling in love/identifying men who aren't total morons.
from falo :
Hi Cali. What's happening over there in your neck of the woods? Best, O.
from acornotravez :
What's up, chicky? I'm tipsy tonight. I went to a cajun restauraunt just now and got a hamburger with hush puppies. It was OK. It took a lot time to cook because the burger was probably frozen, and who the fuck orders a hamburger at a cajun restaurant? Acorn.
from falo :
Hi Cali. Happy 4th of July! Best, O.
from acornotravez :
It doesn't always have to be wild and passionate at the beginning.
from falo :
Hi Cali. Good luck. Good karma. Sounds nice to have made a good friend who shares some interests. Best regards, O.
from acornotravez :
Have a great trip. "My love potion boils and bubbles..."
from cincincy1 :
I like your style...
from falo :
Hi Cali! The Black Tie sounds like a smashing hit! Gavin Newsom, Father Tom, as yet unmentioned mysterious experiences! Excellent. You sound so well, it's really nice actually.
from acornotravez :
Ha, I love those kinds of entries!! Also, may I make a suggestion? Get comments! I will love you forever! Well, I already love you forever, so if you get comments, I'll love you forever plus infinity. :)
from falo :
Hahaha! Now that's an entry Cali. Have a great time at the Black Tie affair. Oh boy, can't get past the fact that you'd do either of them right now. Timing IS everything then, no?
from acornotravez :
I got the Johnny Depp Biography from BBuster all set for tonight, chica! Mmm mmm good.
from acornotravez :
I find that as I get older, people suck more and more. Here's a saying I saw on a t-shirt when I was at summer camp as a kid, I didn't really understand it then, but as I get older, it becomes more real: "The more people I meet, the more I like my dog."
from acornotravez :
HI! I forgot to tell you Happy B'day Monday, so I'm telling you Happy Belated B'day on Wednesday. Happy Belated B'day!
from falo :
Cali!! Happy Birthday! Have a great time with your old friends this evening and with the new job in the coming year! Best regards, O.
from falo :
Hiya Cali! I am back to extend the post acceptance congrats and also to wish you well as you get off to the new start on Friday. Best, O.
from lonelylatina :
3/14/07 - LoL!
from acornotravez :
Fuck Yeah! I pumped my fist in the air in jubilation when I read your entry! YEEEAAAAAAA! I'm so happy for you, girlie. Too bad you can't come to Houston, Friday, now, for my party... I will celebrate for you anyway, OK? :)
from lonelylatina :
3/14/07 - wooohooo! congratulations!
from bebelua :
congrats! now go do something special to treat yourself and celebrate!
from falo :
Excellent! Congrats Cali. :-)
from acornotravez :
Cali, you impress me more by the minute. Listen, I'm having my graduation party next Friday, you should come to Houston and attend, fucking seriously!!!!
from falo :
Hi Cali. Well done on nailing the email exchange, "if she is looking for a talented, professional employee, then my email response will elate her". Maybe review what she wants prior to going in so you know it and are fluent with it. Come Wednesday, I'll be thinking positive thoughts! Best, O.
from falo :
Hello Cali. I wish I had an excellent answer for you. I am out here wishing you well however, and knowing that you have the ability to be/do something extraordinary. Good luck and do well with the interviews.
from acornotravez :
I wish I could give you some advice, but I'll just agree with you that looking for a job, *does* quite suck. But you're smart and intelligent, you DO have a good degree, and you WILL find something, or something WILL find you. This might sound stupid, but have you looked at craigslist? :) Acorn
from falo :
Hi Cali. Hey, I just want you to know that with the way that you write and present yourself here that if you are doing Marketing/Writing/Presentation any firm would indeed be fortunate to have you. Now good luck with finding a plum and allowing them to find you. Best, O.
from acornotravez :
sending good vibes your way!
from acornotravez :
Nah - just sayin' hi, chica!
from acornotravez :
HI!
from bebelua :
oh no! i didn't get anything from you! me email is all wonky through dland, i suppose. try sending it to bebelua at mac dot com....
from bebelua :
dude. cali. whyfor you didn't ever send me your resume? (or did you and it didn't get to me somehow??) i'm sure you're a shoe-in for the job you interviewed for. but just in case it doesn't work out, i would love to be looking out for jobs here for at my employer. i'm telling you, i really think you'd enjoy it here. drop me a note and let me know if you're having trouble emailing me.
from acornotravez :
IMHO - girl, you barely took hardly any time off, for real, compared to the rest of the world... And also - I'm sure you rocked on the 'interview' - I thought that if the interview went more like a convo, it meant it went well - but maybe I don't know what I'm talking about - I've NEVER done well at interviews... :)
from bebelua :
good luck tomorrow! you're gonna knock em dead!
from lonelylatina :
1/1/2007 - "it's time for me to be the star of my own life." i love that line! the mcdreamy guy in NM is Ricky. he's a great, sweet man. all the girls here on diaryland love him =D
from lonelylatina :
12/31/06 - wishing you lots and lots of happiness this new year caligirl <3
from falo :
Hi Cali. Congrats on the 2.25. That's great. I hope that you have a Merry, Merry Christmas! Enjoy it!
from acornotravez :
Yeah! Get dat bootie in gear! I loved 'beek on the creek, too.
from bebelua :
hey you. what sort of work are you looking for? email me your resume ([email protected]) and i'll pass it along for any jobs here at my company. (i think you'd like it here!)
from acornotravez :
Hey - how are you? You haven't updated in a while and I just wanted to say hi and tell you that it finally dawned on me the other day that *I'm actually done with school* and the paper and my prof are slowly fading from the front of my mind - just like you said it would be! :)
from falo :
Hi Cali. Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family!
from acornotravez :
Man, how did you get *rockstar*? No fair! :)
from acornotravez :
If it's red, you could try some hydrocortisone cream. I was just reading up on chafing, actually, but with long-distance bikeriding. Anyway, they say the best thing is prevention, which, sadly, you are beyond that. :( But to prevent it in the future, maybe diaper-rash cream. I would just keep it clean and dry for now, and hold off on the jogging for a few days until it heals. BTW - congrats on the 1.25 miles! That's awesome! When I started jogging (3 years ago), I could only go about 2 minutes before I would die, but at one point I was doing 3 miles easily - but it definitely took a while to work up to it.
from montage4life :
I was the same way when I was unemployed and wanting to move to Ca motivated to get off my butt and get a job. You get into the swing of things after a little. but not working is so nice. By any chance did you get an e-mail from me? esm2000AThotmailDotcom?
from falo :
Hi Cali. Just dropping some warm thoughts and Diaryland chill your way. Best, O.
from lonelylatina :
LoL.. thank you <3
from falo :
"the highlight of the trip was attending a taping of "the jenny jones show" Such a great line! Totally cracked me up, Cali. I liked the admonition that you weren't on the show as a participant as well.
from acornotravez :
Isn't is crazy to read something like that from so long ago? It's hard for me to go back to my mentalities, to figure out exactly what the fudge I was thinking! Anyway, my husband and I do one of those cheesy letters every year, he *loves* doing it. He's got so much family, we have to. Oh God, you think I'm self-absorbed, don't you! Kidding. Love ya, Acorn
from falo :
Hi Cali. I was glad to see the update. Best, O.
from acornotravez :
Why are your nipples sore? May I ask? AND - the old people will LOVE you and your puppy. Sundays at my hospital they have a dog-visit program and the patients can't get enough of it. Dogs are great.
from lonelylatina :
7/30/06 - "your pussy dries up and you become a raging bitch...." oh god no, say it ain't so!!!
from acornotravez :
love it love it!
from acornotravez :
I left you a comment to your comment in my diary here: http://acornotravez.diaryland.com/comments/1152223158.html
from acornotravez :
Hey! I think the more you exercise, the easier it gets. You obtain momentum, and it helps you along. It's always starting up that's the hardest.
from falo :
Thank you. I haven't laughed that hard recently. Your anecdotes were really good, the European adventure and the crossroads. All my best, O.
from lettynow :
I'm just catching up!!!! Oh wow so much has gone on!!! Good luck on this new chapter
from lonelylatina :
6/13/03 - i don't have your e-mail. can you please e-mail me the password? pretty please, with a cherry on top? thank you =D [email protected]
from acornotravez :
I've found that alcohol actually *does* solve all your problems, albeit temporarily. Oh well.
from acornotravez :
Amen, sistah!
from montage4life :
ah congratulations!!! Maybe you quitting has led to me getting my interview tomorrow? :) enjoy your time off, go out have fun, hang with friends, met guys and just have fun!!
from acornotravez :
HEY! I'm so proud of you! (I've been off d'land for 11 days....) Good luck with your "in", positive vibes flowing from me to you now!!!
from acornotravez :
emailing you...
from montage4life :
sorry i'm just responding to the note you left in my journal but yes I'm working at a festival, the tribeca one to be exact. I've finally had to down time. I hope you have a blast in Europe and you will LOVE Ireland. Have you made a decision about your job? just curious.
from montage4life :

from montage4life :

from falo :
Hi Cali! Happy Easter 2006. Best, O.
from lonelylatina :
12/22/05 - hey caligirl, come down to los angeles and we can have a good ol' time. we'll have a nice dinner then go see a movie or better yet, get drunk off our asses and curse all those who did us wrong...lol. yeah, getting drunk sounds better. seriously girl, you should come down.
from area4 :
hello my dear. your note made me smile, but i had to deletet it. i had to delete it because to reveal my old alias is to reveal "me". someone found my old diary. and read it. every word. and used it against me. a guy i dated for awhile googled my name, my "real" name and found my diary. i thought it was a safe place for me, but found out how unsafe it was. a diaryland person once used my "real" name in the guestbook of my old diary and because of that all of my secrets were revealed. my story became public. and i became exposed, vulnerable... i figured out how to delet my old diaryland diary, but not a way to delete my old "guestbook". (i wish i knew how!). (i will never use the "guestbook" again...only "notes".) i'm happy to see that you are still writing. i'll need some time to catch up with you.
from lettynow :
I was just telling another Diarylander that yesterday, because I was all happy i saw colored leaves. I'm like we don't have seasons here just winter & summer.. SO the weather mans wrong!
from lettynow :
I could tell you.. I love that.
from acornotravez :
Hola! We'll be neighbors this weekend! (The hub and I are going to SA for a concert and to see my seester.) Hope you have fun with your friend...I'm sure you will. -Acorn
from lonelylatina :
thanks so much for the note. yeah you are right, things can only get better =)
from lettynow :
I just read a few entries... I'm adding you to my favs
from lonelylatina :
Yay!!! congrats on your MBA. that is such a huge accomplishment.
from acornotravez :
Heya, thanks for the kind words. Blessed art thou. I'm going nuts in my own head, I think it's all about playing it off legit, right? I'm glad you're getting your MBA, wow. I know you feel rockin'.
from lackcreatvty :
Congrats on passing stats and disowning your sister! If you're depressed I suggest a steady diet of E and alcohol, but not mixed together.
from montage4life :
you passworded? can i have the password??
from acornotravez :
Congrats, chica.
from montage4life :
You and your sister should get an apartment in like astoria or queens. Brooklyn even, cheaper and they all have nice areas and not to far from the city. You would be able to live on the east coast and have a blast. And the guy at the dog park was probably checking you out. confidence, my dear :) I'm learning about confidence now and well I have to pass it on :-D
from montage4life :
It stinks that you had to tell her no but it will teach her a lesson, hopefully. I would have said the same thing if my brother ever asked me that years down the line when I'm fully employed.
from lackcreatvty :
Happy Birthday! I'd try to say more, but the wine won't let me.
from acornotravez :
I miss you! I need a password, dude.
from silentswirl :
Cali??? CALLLLLLI????? I finally get back online and you're LOCKED? But I want to read about your travels! And new home! And love! *enter perplexed look here*
from lackcreatvty :
Seriously, please let me know what the password is. I need to know how business school turns out for you before I take the plunge. C'mon, one Bay Area resident to another.
from kristiel :
so sad, you locked your diary. what would it take to get your password to a fan?
from lackcreatvty :
What do I have to do to get a password?
from montage4life :
oh your locked :( can I get the password??
from bebelua :
you're all locked up! :(
from lackcreatvty :
Sorry no "M" here. Chalk one up for a crazy girl with a wild imagination.
from lackcreatvty :
You should have gone to Silver Cloud instead of Mint. It's where I go to sing some Bon Jovi.
from leonmcphelps :
Thanks for the note. I'm glad you like.
from montage4life :
Hope you have the greatest time in Africa! Take lots of photos. Have a safe flight.
from calidude81 :
don't worry be happy PEACE!
from lackcreatvty :
I stubled across your diary and really enjoyed it, which probably does not mean much coming from some random guy. Anyway, you make me smile and not too many people can do that, so I look forward to reading your future entries.
from acornotravez :
Hi, Caligirl. Just wanted to let you know I added you to my faves, and like reading you several times a week. I like Ben and Jerry's also, Chubby Hubby is the best.
