I just wanted to say thank you for your input. The more I think about it, the more I think it might be a good idea to focus on Spanish rather then Anth, which is esentially what I've been doing anyway. And it's true. You can't do anything in Anth without a PHD. So thank you. That might have been the push I needed. The right words at the right moment :-)

The whole Cates thing was a huge surprise because it ended badly. However, I felt much better and happier once the shock lifted... As far as guy things: if what he does or who he is stomps all over my core values, the man gets his walking papers. If some very important matters have huge incompatibilities (styles of communication, loving, spirituality, and living), that too serves as grounds for walking papers... Good luck ;-)

You certainly saw a view of London that I did not get to see when I was there! What a wonderful London memory!... I read somewhere that the Catholic Church calls itself the 'universal' church because it uses the cultures of others to explain God and his teachings. For instance, Saint Patrick taught the Celts the Holy Trinity by using their shamrock (rich with meaning for them) as an example. Apparently, that is what they've done for a very long time.

Ah, thanks for the great note. I just read up on the album, and I'm fairly certain it's a greatest hits album. I was a little disapointed, but there will be a few new singles on the CD. And there'll probably be a tour - that's what I'm most grateful for. I've never seen them live. However, rumor has it that after Rob Thomas records his second solo album the band will reunite. Let's keep our fingers crossed!

Hi Beautiful: I'm in hiding for a while and I haven't decided what I'm going to do about that just yet. Well... I've been tending the lawn and hoping to get some good tips! I planted a sweet tea olive shrub in front of my house (yay) and it seems happy. Then, I fertilized the lawn and pulled weeds (yuck), and applied weed & seed, praying it works! Hey :-)...I was reading your entry about your frustration about not being a good enough "catholic/christian"...just thought I'd share with you that I think that your doing exactly what you should be doing. I'm not saying that your religion and it's values are wrong by any means...I really admire and respect the way that you've incorporated them into your life...but I think a lot of catholics get caught up in the rituals and traditions and the special prayers and forget to have the passion for God that you so clearly have. I think hearing your thoughtful prayers makes God smile, and I think He would want you to live your life and make it better...not just settle down and have 5 kids :-). If you had it figured out, life would be boring. And you'd be anal like me. The whole reason for being flexible is so you can bend and not break, and have all these wonderful options before you figure out what you're really supposed to do and who you're 'sposed to spend the rest of your life with. I could relate to you so much in this entry. I'm sorry you feel so lonely. I'm in love and I still find myself lonely, so I can't imagine what it would be like for you. It's sad, isn't it, considering we'll never congregate on the wall under the stupid useless lobby TV in the morning again, or have another chicken nugget day. Don't feel slow, I miss these things too. Just remember that this is why you keep a journal, so that you can cherish everything that your brain won't hold, just by going into your archives. Not quite as good as rewinding, but really...consider the bad with the good, high school wasn't a dream come true for any of us. It's just a matter of perspective.

Oh, I'd love to go to a midnight showing, but getting out of the theater at 3:30 a.m., then going to school...I couldn't do it. Actually, the bell rings at 2:15--but by the time I go to my locker and walk home, it's 2:30. It is very lovely, but the day starting at 7:15 kinda throws that off (because of course then if I want to get there on time I have to leave at 7:00, or in the case of walking to school, 6:50). What times do you have?

I totally know how you feel (your entry about feeling friendless). I feel the same way. It's fun socializing with everyone in school, but then I go home and just feel so left out of everything. No one is ever there for me or anything. College will be different, or at least it better be. I'm a senior too so the way I figure it, it doesn't really matter if my friends fade because I won't see them anymore anyway. Happy though, right? haha.

update April 6, 2020: Sorry, we just had 8+ hours downtime due to a server problem. Restoring from backups took soooo long, but everything is back and no data was lost. Ay yay yay! Anyhow, hope everyone is well with the virus stuff.
