haha thanks! the speech went great and the whole time before the speech my problem was what should the visual aid be? obviously I couldn't bring a bong and a bowl...so I brought brownies instead. :)

from theotherman :

I think it would be therapeutic to tell your story....for me anyway! :)

D, I wanted to leave you a note about yesterday's entry, but frankly, I was too drunk. I want you to know that your feelings are valid. It is very frustrating to me when members of my birth family, say a sister or a brother for example, negate what I say as if they really knew better. It is very important to have no toxicity in a relationship, so that it can be mutually beneficial. If you truly can't seem to get along with your mother (and I do understand!) then it really is up to you to decide if you want to poison yourself with someone whose purported role is that of a nurturer, but who seems to do the opposite. It is disappointing when a person can't fill their spociety-and-traditon appointed roles, but when we recognise that, we are able to make healthy choices. And as you are a mother, it is important that you make choices to protect and nurture your daughter. I think that you have a very fun-loving yet steady head on your shoulders and I think that you are thoughtful in your choices. I applaud you, and your efforts at remaining true to yourself and your beliefs. You really are an awesome woman, and I think that if your Mum got to really know you, she'd be really proud of you! xoFifi

Sweet! I'm glad you guys got it so well planned - less stress is definitely the only way to go! If only I lived closer I would help you move...haha!

Okay I don't know how it is down there but no matter what whenever anyone buys a house around here there is guaranteed to be an extra zing somewhere usually in the range of a grand or so. I don't know what it is but everyone I know including myself somehow had extra fees when all was said and done with the purchase of our houses - unfair but thankfully I was warned before hand!
from curious-me :
Yah, I'm the Canadian that was reading up all your archives! I've added you to my favourites so I can now read on...take care - eh!
from curious-me :
Hi, I stumbled across your diary...and then proceeded to read the whole thing...um yah. I think you've got a great writing style and I love reading about your adventures. Good luck with the house hunting!

Thanks for leaving a note to me. You know you can email me directly if you want. It's much more efficient that Diaryland messages. Also: I saw your flickr page. You are cute.
from idontpretend :
Ohhhhhhh, gotcha. (now I feel like a total dumbass) I've thought about it, but I can't bring myself to do that yet. Eventually...
from idontpretend :
Sorry, but I don't delete entries without a good reason. The whole purpose of my diary is to be able to go back and see what I've been through, my thoughts and everything at the time I was going through whatever it is I was going through. Deleting an entry is like destroying a piece of the puzzle. There has to be a really good reason for me to delete an entry.

Oh, okay, cool! I was wondering whose quote journal that was. Anyway, it's very good to quasi-meet you, and I'm glad that you love Hunter Thompson as much as I do. What do you think -- should I write a "Fear and Loathing in Baghdad"? Haha!
from bluemeany :
Hello! I'm sorry I've been so slow about replying to your note, but I wanted to tell you thank you so very much for leaving it. It means so much to me to know that there are people who actually get something out of my writing! You are a lovely person and I love that your diary's header is "squiffy." "See" you around ... (P.S. Yay, I get to leave your first-ever note!)

update April 6, 2020: Sorry, we just had 8+ hours downtime due to a server problem. Restoring from backups took soooo long, but everything is back and no data was lost. Ay yay yay! Anyhow, hope everyone is well with the virus stuff.
