Check out livejournal, you can make journals 'friends only' or 'private' , and it's more community based. I'm at http://cimmeriantower.livejournal.com . I've ditched diaryland for good.
from hemlokk :
thx for the note. i know the feeling of friends leaving as well...i met the coolest guy ever who shared more with me than anyone..from party habits to intellectual pursuits to musical interests we just hit it off...and he had a degree in chinese so he was my teacher/translator...then he had to leave china because his dad was dying. even after 5 or 6 months of knowing each other, we'll definitely be meeting up in the future...
from hemlokk :
nice holiday pics. Haven't been to Hong Kong yet but Beijing is fun. Glad to see my old dealers...i mean friends... are still going strong in the 'ol busss barrrr

I love your new template!

Gah! I totally knew I fucked up on the band name! Bad thing is, I was too lazy to look it up. I'll correct the entry. I love music, and I understand that what it takes to right music (I play the guitar myself) but what I cant stand is the sappiness of that song. Maybe I am just a cold heart. Thanks for your opinion though - and for busting me out on the facts!! :)
from hemlokk :
you're killing me here...first of all, More than words is not Mr. Big, it's Extreme...Mr. Big did that song "I'm the one who wants to be with you, ...etc" ...anyway, apart from the "cheese" factor, I wouldn't regard either of those songs as being shit, but that's a matter of opinion...Anyway, it should be understood at least that both bands have been comprised of some of the most skilled and talented musicians in our modern time. If you know anything at all about rock music and guitar, you've heard (or worshipped ) Paul Gilbert, Nuno Bettencourt and Billy Sheehan. Sorry to sound so self-righteous and defensive, by the way...I just love my metal and I'll defend it to the death....Music is timeless

the picture isn't mine, but it is taken right at the upper (or lower can't remember) Kananaskis Lake...Really sexy picture, eh? Keep it up, I'll finally be seeing your part of the PRC soon. I'll let you know what I think.

Girls poop!?! No way! Well, I guess I learn something new everyday here on Diaryland. *Does Daffy Duck impression* Whoo-Whoo! Whoo-Whoo!
from hedgehoggy :
The pic is on its way but seems to not hit a certain destination just yet. I'm looking into why but I will try to get it there before you leave. Things are a little hectic right now so I'm all over the place but like that old song from the 70's, "I'll be there." Oh, I am such a weird-o but lovely. Really.

Thansk for the note and the add. I'm glad I make you laugh. I have, unfortunately, not yet had any time to look through your entries. I seem to be getting quite a few requests for drawings, so that's mostly what I have been doing lately. I see you have galaxy, bonypony and kristin on your list as well. Good choices they rock :). -- P.P.

Well, I'll email you later on more but Battle Royale is good. It's just that there were too many small things missing from the book that would have made it a lot better. There was the deleting of why certain characters did certain things as well as more on the deaths. The teacher that led the students to kill each other was a very good character to watch. The lighthouse scene was worth the most because I've learned not to trust being fed by 5 Japanese schoolgirls with nothing to lose. You won't forget Battle Royale at all. Anyway, I will hit you back sometime. *Hugs*
from hedgehoggy :
I've got Battle Royale! It's very strange but good, not great but good. I cannot see why an American distributor will not touch it, though. You should hit me back someday because I liked your "essays" (as you call your email). Do you want a copy of Battle Royale or anything to say on what you've seen lately?
from hedgehoggy :
Interesting to see you have Donnie Darko as a favorite movie. THAT is art with a twist of demented humor plus a soundtrack that kicks ass majorly, dear. Oh, I've got to ask a favor so bad since you live in China. What is your email address and I'm hoping this isn't too forward? I'm so giddy with a bit of excitement.
from hedgehoggy :
Now, I have to say that I am impressed or just plain baffled as to how a girl from Canada ends up working in China. Impressive. Very. The funny thing is that I would say you have some giant matzo balls because I am scared to death of China and North Korea. *Takes a bow and waves to China's Veronica* On with the show!
from schmutzie :
I like your "three things" bit. It's made me start looking around a little more.

Hi! Usually beer isnt my "chosen" drink... the problem is, when I drink it I always say I only want one, but one leads to two and then I'm done. I think I need to practice self control... or stick to vodka. Thanks for reading my diary! :)
from fridayfilms :
Why didn't you go home after the two beers then? I can't drink draft beer because it makes me overly drunk and really sick the next day. I think it has something to do with the buildup of old beer in the taps (this is what I've heard anyway). Also, hi! I'm from Canada too, and my closest friend lives in Korea. It's nice to read about the ex-pat experience in Asia.

I love the new template!

I was having just such a writing crisis recently (it comes and goes), and then I found an older entry from last year that I couldn't believe I had written, because I actually really liked it. We judge ourselves much too harshly.
from schmutzie :
I'm assuming you're just busy on your holidays in Canada... Are you still out there?
from schmutzie :
It takes a while, like the last guy said. Blogging is whole new arena of writing, and even now, over a year since I began, I sometimes struggle with my subject matter. Keep plugging, though, because I like reading you!
from hemlokk :
give it time - it'll flow..And when you have a revelation - no matter where you are or what you're doing, write it down for later!
from schmutzie :
Thanks for noticing me! I'll keep reading you for sure. I've had a few friends live/living abroad, so it'll be interesting to see where your life takes you there.
from hemlokk :
Did a diaryland search of China and your name came up. Seems we have much in common as Canadians in China. I like your style; keep on writing in the free world. -ian

update April 6, 2020: Sorry, we just had 8+ hours downtime due to a server problem. Restoring from backups took soooo long, but everything is back and no data was lost. Ay yay yay! Anyhow, hope everyone is well with the virus stuff.
