from bluknitscarf :
Thanks for the invite over to last.fm. I've been meaning to create an account there for some time, but the busy-ness of my life plus the melodrama has taken priority over everything else for the moment. I shall add you to my friends list there as soon as I get registered! Oh and do you have a bebo account? If so, feel free to add me.. my user name is dream-in-sound. Take care and stay rad! --Elizabeth
from mariastuart :
Hmm, your guestbook didn't work I think, I just wrote you a message to tell you that every time you put a song here, I end up smiling :) You are my hero!
from bluknitscarf :
So I have unpacked my sparkling new computer and got a fresh new internet account established. I have a lot of catching up to do in explodingboyland. All is right with the world again. Oh do you know Fishboy? If not, you should head on over to www.yofishboy.com and check him out. I think you might quite like... :-)

from sunstargirl :
You truly have the most amazingly unique diary I have ever come across on DL. It is awesome. Do you create/sing these tunes yourself?
from greentealeaf :
a music recommendation for you eb. "a cat escaped" and "golden square" by pipas. yours tweely, green.
from greentealeaf :

from sleepystorm :
aww - get you, being sweet.
from lumpy13 :
Your conclusion regarding my top ten tapes would be completely accurate :)
from likeaforest :

from lullaymarie :

from lullaymarie :

from longitude :
i need to know more about you. yes. i do.
from osakamoment :
you've immortalized another of my favorites. Sometimes, it's like you're reading my mind!
from lullaymarie :
I pray all is dandy and such stuff.
from osakamoment :
thanks.
from meism :
i've been planning to leave d-land behind, as so many of my buddies have... you alone give me pause to reconsider...
from osakamoment :
well done.
from mindfluff :
":-) @ $$$ + " I think you might have to interpret that for me :)
from osakamoment :
OMG! I love Different Drum, tho I've been listening to the Linda Ronstadt/Stone Poneys version. My mom has that LP and I'll tell you it's a regular part of my heartbreak rotation! Good call.
from gothangel :
thanx. :) am jus here to update my journal... havent been able to cuz Ive been buzy with work. which BTW is going well! yay! alright talk to you later. How are you doin?
from ebony-eyes5 :
Seems like I've been gone forever ... your entries still mesmerize me! I'd forgotten how much I enjoy them. :)
from bluknitscarf :
good compilation there! :-)
from hovergirl :
you like victor borge. i like you.
from osakamoment :
Laid is the album I'd pick to own if I couldn't own any other album. It is the only album I've ever loved in its entirety that has never once bored me. When I first heard the song, Laid, I was in high school. My girlfriend at the time liked the song, too, but she yelled at me about it one day. She said that it was absurd that I thought the line was "dye my eyes and call me pretty..." when it was so obviously "line my eyes and call me pretty..." But she was a bitch and I still sing "dye my eyes..." Also, Laid is one of my mother's favorite songs.
from osakamoment :
In honor the day, I've been listening to How Fucking Romantic all day...
from bluknitscarf :
Are you a fan of The Sea and Cake? I was listening to the song 'Showboat Angel' and it reminded me so much of you for some reason. Oh and love the Ben Lee--I actually just got around to getting Awake is the New Sleep... Good stuff! :-)
from osakamoment :
Rattlesnakes is one of my all time favorites. Kudos. And yes! Umbrellas is great...
from bluknitscarf :
How I could've missed the Custard/Titanics entries on your extras diary is beyond me! I wonder if you've got any more hidden away that I don't know about. I'm a sucker for Dave McCormack! And that nice little surprise with the new entry. Made me smile heaps!
from osakamoment :
I just spent the last 3 hours trying to work a little magic on All The Umbrellas In London (the Magnetic Fields) and only managed to get to the chorus...I suck.
from osakamoment :
do you take requests?
from bluknitscarf :
It's been quite a few months since I've put on some Tullycraft so hearing your little recent addition this morning has put me into an ever so giddy mood! Doesn't it always feel good to rediscover good music! *sorry to keep spamming your notes page*
from notlikeyoudo :
Perfect. You catch on quick! To be honest, I'm pretty sure I had listened to that song recently. That could have just been stuck in my head. :)
from bluknitscarf :
I don't think I ever properly thanked you for the entry you put together on your extras diary for Zoe, so thanks a bundle! It was really thoughtful of you and it makes me appreciate just how great you are even more. Great to have you back! I understand how life can drag you away from all the simple pleasures. I wish I had at least ten minutes a day to gather my thoughts and start posting again, but things are maddening! Keep in touch, Elizabeth --dream_in_sound@hotmail.com :)
from meism :
and oh yes, this latest entry inspired me to break out my old pixies ep of monkey gone to heaven... (nice to feel the grin that you always bring to my face again)
from meism :
ditto to that last stalker's note - xxoo
from bluknitscarf :
It seems like ages since you've updated. I don't want to seem all stalker-like, but I'm a bit worried about you. In fact, we all prolly are. Hope things are fine and that you haven't given up on us! --Elizabeth
from orchidprint :
this entry is a good one. so are you. you are a good one.
from madfuzzyme :
hey laddie! get some more grooves goin! Beep Beep, Ima robot, Louis XIV! keep doin it!
from bluknitscarf :
where are you these days? hoping all is well and all that happy shiny stuff :)
from antipodean :
:)
from concerted :
thanks. and for clarity, I meant your taste in music. ;)
from concerted :
I'm in love with your taste.
from madfuzzyme :
a recommendation on the last issue, time's arrow: muse: try switching to the earthen pictures when he's singing to his world. marx and his amis stay up for a bit, so you might want to rotate pic's to liven it up. though the song is lively enough on it's own. bravisimo.
from longitude :
sending love thousands of miles away.
from extravagaria :
I know. :> Sometimes feigning indignance is not only appropriate but profoundly amusing to me after bourbon and sugar. After a heavy lunch, too. But only on Wednesdays.
from extravagaria :
What? WHAT?! What did you just call me?!
from concerted :
I wish I were better with designs, I'd tweak the blogger.com template I'm using now. It's alright but I'm flighty about such things.
from concerted :
well, thanks, then.
from concerted :
Oh and I wouldn't worry about word find if I were you. I didn't even worry about it and I'm me.
from concerted :
my lj design? it's all blacked out, no real design. I just blacked it out.
from concerted :
ps: you're the only person to ever mention the lyric/title mix of my entries.
from concerted :
I'd suspected that you figured it out because of a referral from my new journal--I was just checking. :) Geek.
from concerted :
Never. I'm just a bit numbed of the brain from all this moving. Speaking of which, how did you know I was moving?
from concerted :
Thanks.
from antipodean :
Warm setting. Very funny. Mock if you will ;)
from antipodean :
Hehehe. Fitting song :)
from likeaforest :
for some very perverse reason, i nearly want to tell you that i meant gareth or david, but actually, your friends are quite right about tim (or jim, as his american counterpart is somewhat hilariously named). i wonder -- did they know because they think he is crushworthy too, or because of a mere process of elimination? i suppose he is a rather unlikely crush, but then i was also madly in love with bud cort in high school, so.
from gothangel :
besides my lastest entry.... try this: http://gothangel.diaryland.com/050514_93.html
from gothangel :
:) ...yeah, thought you would. >:) hey it's true about the shoe theory... you can tell alot about a person just by their shoes, where they've been and their experience etc... It's a hilarious journal entry, but I like it. My latest journal entry, it self expanitory, if you will... so, what's up with you??
from cheersurasta :
THAT'S IT! your movie was "tops really, the best of the lot."
from cheersurasta :
yeah yeah, umm, I thought Venus in Furs was a fictional band from the movie Velvet Goldmine... and on the soundtrack for VG there's a song called "Satellite of Love" by Lou Reed Lyrics... maybe we're talking about the same thing, it's all a bit confusing
from cheersurasta :
I don't know if you meant to, but nice Velvet Goldmine reference...
from cheersurasta :
i think you're neat
from orchidprint :
nicenicenice entry
from gothangel :
EB, glad to see your diary online. Mine, unfortunately isn't. :( fuck... I put it in to be regenerated, so it might be back online shortly. eh, who knows... other than that, nothin' special, just work work work. Last friday night did 16 hours straight, it's not something ya wanna do on a friday night, but gotta do whatcha gotta do. bloody kissez, -Laura
from bluknitscarf :
Prolly not the sparkly happy update you were a'waitin' for, but I'm still about. Hope all 'tis well for you, groovey one! :-)
from extravagaria :
*nods*
from orchidprint :
yesyes, impossible things.
from o-twinkle-o :
i think .. so far .. thames is my absolute favorite.
from gothangel :
yeah sure lady... ^V^ hey... have you seen the movie; dodgeball?
from gothangel :
i dig your entry (grey on grey)
from notlikeyoudo :
tomorrow. hmmm wonderfully simplistic and... *sighs* well put. "fine" is such a lovely song. i'm glad you shared.
from explodingboy :
Thanks buck - yes - he was the closest match I could find to Edmund Barton (who was Australia's first primeminister - or quite possibly when pissed the queen of Australia). See below for saga. I just can't wait to litttle Johny Howard retires and releases an album, however in the mean time 1000 brownie points to you!
from buck88 :
actually edwardbarton.com
from buck88 :
i havent heard that for ages, the man who wrote it is called edward barton, hes one of my heros, i think his site is edwardbarton.co.uk and he has has two acapella albums by his HUSH choir, the first one is tres bon. check it out if you aint already. b88.
from greentealeaf :
ps. i'm normally anti-wilco, but you somehow made me overcome my wilco-dislike with that song.
from greentealeaf :
eb! i totally dig the summer sun entry. you know you're one of my favourite d-landers, and certainly my favourite aussie boi.
from gothangel :
your welcome. have fun this year and enjoy it.
from gothangel :
wish you a year you can look back on and cherish. a toast to a year to remember. '05 rock on.
from in-the-dawn :
thanks for adding me! <3ellie
from bluknitscarf :
oh and quite possibly my most favourite neutral milk song that you've got there! ;)
from bluknitscarf :
Been a long time since I've posted a note for you. Just wanted to say hello and see how things are going in exploding-boy land...
from adalbeorht :
I guess it's possible that you just did a cftpa search on diaryland, but until I thought of that, I figured myself QUITE special. Thanks for those brief minutes of specialness! The music could be more hi-fi than lo-fi, but you rock all the same. Take care.
from likeaforest :
!!!!!!
from greentealeaf :
you know, i actually don't know custard and guided by voices ... (hides behind a skirt) but i'd love it if you recommended some albums for me. i'm searching for new music right now. for the holiday season. (everytime i do this, i realise how ignorant i am.)
from meism :
thanks for little reminders why yours has always been my favorite diary
from greentealeaf :
@ wil v.7 - so brilliantly incredibly and exploding and boy!
from greentealeaf :
did you not? then what did you think i was? :p hmm .. a semiot-ician. i wish i were.
from fusco :
somehow i'd hoped that the line was written up in the sleeve notes as "while you point out my floors" ... but thanks for making me remember a lovely night out out with my big brother seeing do-re-mi at the kardomah cafe in sydney ... 1988 (scary)
from greentealeaf :
what a delightful coincidence (i believe the word is serendipitous) -- i was just going to recommend you those two! it was bloody difficult to find m'um at borders. don't other people listen to m'um here in oz, other than you and i? (grumble) not that i don't enjoy being special .. heh.
from o-twinkle-o :
i can't stop listening to this latest one. it's like a brain weevil. i love it.
from ebony-eyes5 :
Soooo glad you're back ... I've missed you! "Thames" entry is absolutely lovely.
from meism :
Now that was a note I will not soon forget....and I'm thinking that sitting in the coffee room with you is an experience in itself. My house is surrounded by huge old oaks inhabited by owls and I'm often lying in bed listening to them far into the night. Sometimes I walk outside looking for them. Seeing one is always startling. One early morning I removed a dead owl - large and beautiful and perfect, not at all bloody or injured-looking, big eyes closed as if sleeping - from the middle of the road. I don't know how many wheels were on the car.
from liquideyes :
I've missed tasting a 'Yum' along my lips when signing on to your site. The 'Yum' is back and as sweet as ever.
from greentealeaf :
i really liked today's entry. i'm gonna replay it now actually.
from notlikeyoudo :
been a while my lovely eb *bows* and i must say that your impeccable taste in music never ceases to entertain me. postal service, eh? *smiles* lovely, just absolutely lovely.
from greentealeaf :
dear eb, i am glad you found something to say, as much as i am tempted to dispute your last statement. (hug)
from greentealeaf :
oh, you updated! *giggle* tee-hee.
from o-twinkle-o :
congratulations .. !
from orchidprint :
p.s. i thought you were cool ever since you posted a musical link for "i felt your shape." well, probably before then, but that comes to mind.
from orchidprint :
hi. i never returned your "hi." but i meant to. because it was really nice. really. hi.
from o-twinkle-o :
um. wow. can i watch you awhile?
from greentealeaf :
thelittlefox.diaryland.com/040924_99.html
from bluknitscarf :
I'm quite fond of Mr. Vic Chesnutt; listening to the album 'Little' as I type this, as it's been in my discplayer for about a week straight--along with Califone's latest release. I was introduced to a little band last night by Johnny called Violet Indiana--very Portishead-like. Dunno if you're into that type of stuff, though. Have fun with your springtime mixin'! Sending my blue skies your way ;)
from greentealeaf :
its 1 a.m. in sydney and i can't sleep and you just updated songaday less than an hour ago. you so have to get on msn! p.s. i love love the stars song.
from greentealeaf :
bagpipes?? ooh, how charming! what about kilts? ;)
from greentealeaf :
hehe, i was misinformed as usual, by my wonderful Mum. it actually started ar 10 and finished around 12. but i didn't get to watch it either. how typical! anyway the movie is called 'peppermint candy' and is easily one of my favourite films purely because i'm into depressing, twisted stuff and it is really cleverly directed and the acting is awesome but then i might be biased cause i'm asian and it's an asian film. =p
from bluknitscarf :
Sorry I haven't been responsive to your email messages/comments, but as you probably now know I've been without internet for what seems like a decade. In a previous email message you asked what I've been a'spinnin these days and of course I have to reply--Lots of Blonde Redhead as of late, and I've been digging through all my archives and bringing out the Tom Waits and Vic Chesnutt, both of which you've most probably heard before. Are you a Neutral Milk Hotel/Jeff Mangum fan, mon ami?
from greentealeaf :
in case you're interested, there's a good movie on sbs at 8.30 this wed.
from mariastuart :
Hey eb :) Thank you for the message..I hope you are allright, long time no see...Btw: I hope you got the password for my diary...
from hovergirl :
you're sweet. thank you.
from velvetclash :
would it be alright if i added you to my favorites? <3ellie
from greentealeaf :
(curtseys) thankyou, kind sir.
from bluknitscarf :
sometimes I can't help falling down... ;)
from greentealeaf :
no update in 33 days?! i demand to know what you're up to! (or lack thereof)
from bonnylisbon :
Are you going to update soon? Please update soon...
from greentealeaf :
eeh bee better update his diary soon. because gee tea el(f) misses his stuff very much.
from songaday :
i always think eb stands for ElizaBeth for a second. for some reason.
from potemkin :
You'd be surprised at how hard it is to be D.O.A. Internet? Afterlife? I would think that the answer would be obvious, to a point. Of course, it would be simply not do to invite anyone to join me in a kagematsuri, but nobody really seems to listen when I say "no". Remember, the GOD bites his own lip in chagrin.
from greentealeaf :
and you need to check out m. ward if you haven't already. better than the shins! better than the moon & all the stars in the world!
from greentealeaf :
ugh. modest mouse. i know i'll risk getting punched when i say this. something about modest mouse irks me. but .. but that particular song is kinda nice. ;)
from solarlab :
fantastic.
from greentealeaf :
mmph. why don't *i* ever have a nice, interesting tail like you always seem to do. no fair. =/
from bluknitscarf :
you sparkle mostly. :-)
from greentealeaf :
ahh, that entry was brilliant e.b. (it's so freezing here, i can't stop licking my fingers.)
from fusco :
*heh* i have nothing against the commie faux lesbo budgies, but would probably require smiths deep immersion therapy for weeks if that had happened to me. f.
from longitude :
i would let you put together a soundtrack for today. i think you would make it so i wouldn't have to wake from my dreams. you're an intrigue *eb. thank you for the welcome, come again soon.
from longitude :
quite possibly the most brilliant diary i've encountered thus far.
from avantbedroc :
...and now this awkward silence makes my knees go weak.
from avantbedroc :
i have not forgotten. i simply cant get my reply right.
from liquideyes :
Unintentional Reinvention. And I need you to check out Brian Straw..
from greentealeaf :
huh? legs? women? *scratch head* i .. don't get it. *looks up at the ceiling* i still don't get it. (what do you think i am? smart?)
from ebony-eyes5 :
Golly ... the Yardbirds! I grew up with them (now I'm giving away my age, haha). I LOVED that song, and it's still as great as ever!
from ebony-eyes5 :
still getting "caught up" ... the visuals for horror movie gave me chills!
from greentealeaf :
i found one of the poppiest, sweetiest bands from uk (ah, the land of B & S never lets me down) last week. camera obscura's new album 'underachievers please try harder' is so addictive.
from greentealeaf :
sweet. :) (wonder if the song was about sputnik?)
from greentealeaf :
mmph. a fairy whispered in my ear just now that nothing matters when the world ends.
from sleepystorm :
er....youre "eb*" right? ok, good. i hope so. and thank you. my loud list does rock, indeed. glad you recognized a bit of it. or all. whichever. x
from avantbedroc :
// films&television are important to me. often i like depriving myself by deliberatly not taping a tv show or a movie which i have desperatly longed to see because i like reminding myself that in the scheme of things i have to ask, does it really matter?
from avantbedroc :
greentealeaf and i are into good clean fun, that is why we place bets with our humility on the line. we need your expertise to seal the deal...
from liquideyes :
thankyou for the note eb. you're rather fabulous and i'll certainly keep dancing to your music.
from novembre :
my diary is locked for the time being because i happened upon a very nosy family member. to read novembre, just say "hello" twice.
from sleepystorm :
much thanks x
from liquideyes :
I can see why you thought there was hidden meaning in the sentence. But I was fortunate enough to see magic realism rules over any form of realistic magic. It's a beautiful country. I think I need to stop writing. My words stinks. ;)
from avantbedroc :
you need some more praise, its friday. im getting out that old clap-o-meter.
from soul-letters :
yr diary makes me smile ♥
from greentealeaf :
now now, what is this 'bulgha'?
from potemkin :
Guitar Freaks are here. The news spreads quickly now. I am scared.
from greentealeaf :
your delightful note somewhat left me all bewildered and confused. it's not that it was confusing actually, but i'm quite dumb, despite my tendency to NOT appear so. so i'll just babble on and make more presumptions such as: if you were asking me to define the intriguing word 'BULGH' which you, sir, had coined, then it is truly unjust for obvious reasons. also, i like to meet people who are presumptious like i, they're unboring and fascinating! and i can indeed imagine what it's like to be on the west coast. i myself live on the brink of the west and i think it'd be a blardy nuisance to come home late at night after josh rouse cause i'm a very muggable looking person. thank you for allowing me to ramble. err, you DID allow me, right? (here's that presumptious thing again)
from maskedwoman :
Kecskemet.. what'd you do near there? I was in Debrecen and Budapest this past summer visiting relatives.
from greentealeaf :
so anyway .. josh rouse are coming down under and hopefully my friend won't change her mind about going. i'll tell you about it if i do check them out .. (assuming that you know and like them - which is a terrible assumption but i wanted to sound excited and eager today so please don't accuse me of being presumptious.)
from greentealeaf :
excuse you ... unless that wasn't a burp but something else. hmm actually now i'm CONVINCED it wasn't a burp but a swallowing noise.
from buck88 :
i always feel better after a visit to ur page, altho after that i feel cack handed and incompetent. will there ever be a 'the best explodingboy album in the world ever....2'?
from soul-letters :
:) ♥
from bluknitscarf :
3 albums worth checking out if you haven't done so already -- Jale - Dreamcake; Birdie - Some Dusty; Cathal Coughlan - The Sky's Awful Blue (he's like an Irish Nick Cave.. super amazing!) Other reccies I've been a'spinnin' lately... the new Erlend Oye - Dj Kicks; Spyglass - Wake Up Sleepyhead; and loads of Billie Holiday. Hope this was helpful.. want more recommendations, email me! Most Love! --E
from ebony-eyes5 :
I knew you'd get the pun *grin* ... also, thanks for your other note, I will be needing it tonight (as she takes a deep breath)
from soul-letters :
well hey there. thanks. aww its so lovely when people leave me nice notes, so thankyou. ill drop by sometime and take a real look at your diary. love, rainy <333 ♥
from ebony-eyes5 :
"hanging down from the ceiling" ... that creates quite the mental picture! your entry mirrored my feelings about needing a change "to take your mind to better days" and i'm doing just that! what sound advice :)
from maskedwoman :
05-01-04, in response to your note: Are you Hungarian American? Both of my parents are Hungarian and I was born in America, so I'm Hungarian American.
from avantbedroc :
your medicine is perplexing
from buck88 :
top quote eb, thank u for bringing a new high brow tone to my notes page, please continue. b88
from novembre :
see, my mother was a new waver. i grew up on that stuff. my blood moves in synthesized beats. but my father was a hippy, so my blood is all confused.
from bluknitscarf :
Thankies for your email, was really surprised to hear from you! My social life has been sucked away, due to overworking hence my lack of diary updating. I'm still brainstormin' over what to do with my diary, as I'm sure things have seemed pretty dull with me lately. I got extremely ecstatic with your mentioning the Mountain Goats! I've been a fan of them for some time and I do have to say that John Darnielle really tickles my fancy! Have you heard any of their previous releases? Super duper stuff, indeedie I do hope everything is going well for you, Eb! I quite miss our communication. Again, thanks for writing! Most Love, Elizabeth
from ebony-eyes5 :
thanks for your note...made me smile! does one wish you a "happy" ANZAC Day? seems like more of a somber occasion than a happy one. it was interesting to learn a bit of Aussie history (history, physics & geography were never my strong suits) and btw, i STILL think you have the most awesome site around!
from buck88 :
do you do that thing when you tell people you really like bret easton ellis and they go 'oh i really hated american pyscho' so u go 'yeah me too but the others books are amazing! PLEASE PLEASE BELIEVE ME!' because i do and sometimes its such a drain. keep bringing us sonic treats.
from sleepystorm :
..no, not strange at all. x
from ebony-eyes5 :
oooh ... really like "Hard to Find", it's 3:30am here and this was perfect for the middle of the night
from sleepystorm :
faith in the good things. faith in the very, very good things. x
from darkstarliar :
i don't get to look at your journal as often as i like since i only have dialup at home, but i wanted to let you know it's fucking brilliant.
from liquideyes :
You, my dear, are one of the coolest cucumbers in this virtual town.
from likeaforest :
american analog set!!! o sir, you're playing my song. by the way, do you ever visit their website? they've been regularly updating with new rare mp3's from week to week. it's quite lovely stuff.
from xforsakenx :
so you've been reading explodingboy? maybe you're right. maybe you're wrong. but your work is simply wonderful i might add.
from bluknitscarf :
Flipping through some of my old favourites in your archives. Even after being away for awhile, you never cease to amaze me!
from ebony-eyes5 :
oh my, are you related to Mel? the bizarre thing is I had just gotten myself a chocolate bar and took a big bite just as I began to watch/read/listen to your entry ... anyways, kudos for the Easter story!
from gothangel :
the female artist who sang the lyrics in '97: Meredith Brooks.
from gothangel :
The following are lyrics: what would you do if we kissed? would you be scared would your tongue slip pass my lips... the song came out in '97 and it was a female artist.
from ebony-eyes5 :
this one made me smile! are you really? haha! rather than frantic, I'm just a hopeless romantic ... *sigh*
from pippiepoppie :
Your journal makes me tickle.

Thanks for your spiffalicious comment, eb! Hope all is shiny and good your way! Keep on smilin'!
from novembre :
my diary has always been insane. it's just going in faster explosions lately. and once my old computer died i bought another one with a photo editing program, hence a few little echoes of your songs.
from bluknitscarf :
Happy Two, Explodingboy Diaries! :-D
from ebony-eyes5 :
37.2 ... close your eyes and listen, so nice and mellow, dare I say intoxicating?
from liquideyes :
I love this entry. (& damn you, my toes are perpetually purple and my skin is the colour of a pot of oh so white paint. my bones are craving heat, even crazy temps like 40 degrees. swoon.)
from bluknitscarf :
Your Cartman has sent me swirling after 2 entries! I will be on a quest shortly for them, as they really float my boat! :-D
from songaday :
probably not the reason you think. if you want to add stuff to songaday, let me know.
from bluknitscarf :
(She’s got me in orbit) God I love her and her lucky charms – (She’s got me in orbit) How they jingle jangle on her arms – (And I jingle jangle in her arms.)
from bluknitscarf :
You were most probably thinking of 'Lucky Charm' by Apples in Stereo. Although, your friend was right... I was referring to my cereal. ;)
from bluknitscarf :
I've never heard this Belle and Seb song! It's LOVELY... really brightened my gloomy, rainy morning whilst enjoying me Lucky Charms! :c)
from minty76 :
i feel the need to tell you that my friend made me a mix tape once, and side one was:i'm singing. side two: and it's good enough.
from minty76 :
i'll post it on my diary. i don't want to post it here.
from bluknitscarf :
Aww EB, You made something for me! I got your message a few days ago with the link, but was unable to check it with my computer being on the fritz! I don't know what to say! Thank you so much... what an honour! WOW! <3 The Triffids, as well! You're the greatest! ;)
from bluknitscarf :
CUSTARO!!! I hope you know what you're getting into! :-D
from bluknitscarf :
"Hey Hey Hey Well I like it when that lightning comes! Hey Hey Hey Yes I like it a lot!" (Sorry Cure moment!) I was laying in bed a few hours ago while it was storming out and CRACKADOOM, magically with a zap of lightning my compy is fixed! So yerp, well equipped with speakers! I can now have an always loverly EB fest at your new extras diary! YIPPEEE!!! :-D
from minty76 :
that last part was a song i'm writing. it has to do with the fact that i sing all the time. my sister calls me a chronic singer. it drives her nuts. i think i'm losing my voice, so i most likely will not be singing for the next few days.
from ebony-eyes5 :
you're back! ;-)
from bluknitscarf :
Thanks for the film recommendation! It would probably be hard to locate here, but I will scout the web for a copy. Glad to see you've updated again! Don't leave all your obsessees behind... it wouldn't be the same without you 'round! xoxo
from liquideyes :
You have extra. & summery skies. I would quite willingly give you my last smartie.
from ebony-eyes5 :
Hi eb, it's me again. Just wanna tell you that I lose myself in your diary, the entries just mesmerize me! Does it take you long to set up those pages? All of this is so new to me, I've only just recently learned how to use templates and, just now, create links. But I guess we all have to start somewhere... btw, if you don't mind my asking, how long have you been doing stuff like this? (just wondering if there's any hope for me ...haha) Anxiously looking forward to new entries, though I haven't quite exhausted all your old ones yet... but I'm making a good stab at it ;-)
from ebony-eyes5 :
Hi! have missed your regular entries, but I just found explodingxtr, and it perked up my day (as usual) ... do you think my boss would mind if he knew what I was doing instead of work? haha! it's cold, snowy, and dreary here, so a diversion such as yours is refreshing
from bluknitscarf :
You never fail to amaze me, eb--I had no clue you were a Sugarcubes fan! What's the link to Isobel's LiveJournal, anyway? I do hope you aren't giving up on your overwhelming legion of fans. It's been almost a month since you've updated. Everything okay?
from liquideyes :
haven't seen you around for a couple of weeks and wanted to say get your butt back here so I can attempt to dance to your taste in music while sitting down. hope you're okay.
from bluknitscarf :
I'm quite the fan of GBV and Mr. Bob Pollard. Strange, he was a school teacher for some years before. He is a character, that's for sure. Thanks for leaving a message for me... I think your suggestion of a lock-down for a while is probably best, but I will continue to stay in touch! And yes, Glad Girls... fantabalous! :-)
from avantbedroc :
Hello explodingboy. It seems im doing six degs. of separation with everyone tonite. I couldn't be further away from you- i could, but im just talking about aus.
from bluknitscarf :
You definitely deserve a holiday filled with record shopping galore! I will buy something special in your honour today. As for the lack of posting lately: I can understand that it probably takes a lot of dedication to add weekly, even. We all appreciate what you do and all the time and effort that goes into creating such beautifulness that always has that incredible ability to strike such a special chord in our hearts. Keep up the nice work, EB! :-)
from bluknitscarf :
I'm confused as to what I'm supposed to be seeing at song-a-day. The latest entry there, perhaps? Hope all is well! :-)
from ohmakemeover :
hi. that is familiar.......really?
from bluknitscarf :
I'll stop spamming your notes page, eventually, but I just got done watching 'I Am Trying to Break Your Heart', the Wilco dvd at a friend's and wanted to ask if you'd seen it. You seem to be a pretty big Wilco fan, which I don't blame you for being one bit. The dvd was INCREDIBLE, if you haven't seen it and I think you would really enjoy it. Okay, I'll let your notes page rest for a while now. I feel all compulsive... hehe. Love! xxx
from bluknitscarf :
Your little poem about Jude= SUPERB! It made me smile a hundred times! I've also added you to ICQ (in case you haven't checked yet). Hope that doesn't seem a bit stalkerish and/or obsessive, but when it comes to eb... how can you help it! Thanks for posting at Bitsa-Jane! :-)
from bluknitscarf :
No silliness, whatsoever! It's a lovely song/lovely band! You know my love for Australia. I love your recommendations and your diary! Hope you continue to post this year, and always! All the Best!
from bluknitscarf :
And it's something quite peculiar Something shimmering and white Leads you here despite your destination Under the Milky Way tonight... :-)
from bluknitscarf :
The Jesus and Mary Chain! I'm one of the hugest JMC fans alive! I'm off to scout your diary for more entries hopefully pertaining to them, and if I don't find any... I'm sure I'll find something that just totally sends me spinnin'! Wishing you a Happy New Year, in hopes all your dreams come true! --Elizabeth
from ebony-eyes5 :
your page was a great way to start the new year ... made me smile! Happy New Year eb ... hope it's a good one for ya!

from gothangel :
merry xxx-mas.
from bluknitscarf :
Merry Christmas, EB!

I have no idea what your "Golly" was about, but it made me laugh anyway. In that Mulholland Drive, I-really-have-no-idea-what's-going-on-here style. Take care of yourself explosive man/boy.
from bluknitscarf :
I just created a poetry page at http://bitsa-jane.diaryland.com. I'd love it if you'd post things there from time to time. Let us know what thoughts go through that snazzy mind of your's! You'll find the password to get in on the profile page! Speak again soon, Elizabeth
from bluknitscarf :

Thanks heaps for the email, as well! It really helps getting someone else's opinion every now and then. I appreciate it muchas! Love, Elizabeth
from likeaforest :
but how can you tell whether or not a couch is haunted, i wonder? and more importantly, how does a couch become haunted? for some reason it's making me think of mr. gorey's the curious sofa, but you probably didn't mean to suggest anything quite so scandalous. xo jolie
from bluknitscarf :
Congrats EB! You truly deserve it! You always put so much thought and effort into your diary, and on top of that you are super duper lovely, yourself! Keep up the good work! --Elizabeth
from ebony-eyes5 :

from bluknitscarf :
I feel fine and I feel good I feel like I never should Whenever I get this way, I just don't know what to say....
from bluknitscarf :
Wahey! Wow... that's really weird because I've been reading people's minds all day! Must be something in the air...hmm. I feel all extra privileged to have access to the secret of your next entry before it's released! At least I have the magical wonder left of seeing which SONG by Spiderbait and what snazzy graphics you'll come up with! Clever you! Where might I find your Frente! - Bizarre Love Triangle entry? Yes, I guess you can see I'm obsessed. There's just so many amazing Australian bands! Thanks for responding, EB! Take Care-- Elizabeth
from bluknitscarf :
Yes, quite impressive it was/always is! You're also a Spiderbait fan, right?
from liquideyes :
Thanks for the suggestions, it's always good to know what people are listening to. Stuck in my head at present are Lambchop, Josh Rouse, dEUS and Desert Sessions, so you could give them a go if you're looking for something different. Hope you're doing okay..
from meism :
Your diary is a pleasure on so many levels. It's a favorite place of mine to come.
from liquideyes :
I think it's more a case of me being stupid and permantly comatose than you not making sense. I need new music to listen to... if you've got time, suggest away.
from greentealeaf :
oh, dear. dear oh dear. you are in "western australia"...? i must've sounded like a total (insert worse word for 'smartass') in my prev note - if only i knew i was talking to a fellow australian (though, technically i am not an 'aussie'). anyhow, that's all cleared up, i'm glad you aren't in the states as i believed until now, it makes things so much simpler. ;)
from greentealeaf :
wow. i am getting more and more intrigued/amused by the whole bizarre episode i put you through (though inadvertently!) lol. as a matter of fact, it so happened that they came down under some weeks ago as part of a 'wales promotion' type thingy (i'm not even sure what they were promoting exactly) .. and i happened to pass by, heard their music, which was charming, (especially under our clear australian sky) and i picked up their cd as i left .. of course, i had never ever heard of their existence until that day. anyhow. that's the whole story .. i hope you aren't so put off by the somewhat balding derek - he looked not-so-old on stage, i swear! when you do get a hold of their album, let me know & fill me in with your juicy insights .. ;)
from liquideyes :
I'm afraid I was basic and picked the design simply for asthetic purposes. Expand my knowledge and let me know how Siouxsie Sioux are linked. x
from gothangel :
hi EB. am dropping aline. KIT
from greentealeaf :
hmmm ... hello, still exploding? ;) i haven't been here a while .. i came across this cool music today. you might check out this welsh band called 'mabon'. i think you might dig it, a nice mix of instrumental folk/alternative. well, drop by sometimes. and have a nice day ;)
from ebony-eyes5 :

from xforsakenx :

from shabooty :
how you bring me back in time with that oh so very '80s syth-band, Heaven 17. How very timely that song seems even now, especially here in the States.
from liquideyes :
Your site still makes me happy. Even when it shouldn't. Hoorah.
from shabooty :
and isn't it the coolest that Johnny Cash covered a Depeche Mode song (not to mention NIN, the Beatles, etc). The Man in Black, may his music live forever.

Hi there! Sadly, I was unable to actually see Something for Kate, but had the golden opportunity of hearing most of the show through a garbled telephone connection. Nevertheless, I was excited! Keep up those ever so nifty entries and also thanks for Go-Betweens- Right Here...that made my day! --Elizabeth
from greentealeaf :
hmm .. most of the time, i don't get your entries. but i'm sure they're all clever and ingenuous. thought i'd let you know my thoughts .. ;)

Ta! As it happens, the only bottle of red in the house at the moment is an Australian. And cheers!
from hovergirl :
i don't really know what to say. some people give me seemingly worthless advice that travels through one ear and out the other--demeaning at times, harsh at others, and too sugar-coated to make a real difference... but you gave me a beautiful gift today. thank you. so much.
from lilindamil :
I've missed reading you. and now Im happy that I have begun to catch back up. you continue to mystify me!
from liquideyes :

from nebulous615 :
Well, enough of that oddly extended metaphor, if it could be called such. I'm testing the waters of whether I should just do a general unlock. In the meantime, try this on. It should fit. ying/ling
from nebulous615 :
Don't you hate it when you're at the doctor's, just about to put on the dreaded half-gown, when the nurse flings open the door? Another patient is in tow. You all stand and stare at each other like a herd of deer before a speeding funeral procession. Bad news all around....
from hovergirl :
yo, explodingboy. what were you eating under there?
from marinella :
