Hey, missed you being around.
from gumphood :
if you come back let me know.
from ashtraygurl :
deep breaths!
from ashtraygurl :
my heart goes out to you both right now...i've got my fingers crossed for us all!! and hurricane season's only half over :(
from gumphood :
Shouldn't you be cheering for the Marlins or devil rays?
from gumphood :
Like William Wallace in Braveheart...we are just too damn stubborn to realize England's a bigger boy on the block. Doesn't mean we won't fight.
from gumphood :
Oh Aliop, silly girl, you know its no longer the 20th century....the Red Sox and yankees have won just as many as the Sox in the 21st century. Though I am a realist. I just hope minnasota knocks you guys out, so we can go to lose in the world series like you guys did last year.
from impetuousme :
me too. exactly. :)
from favoritegirl :
hey, it's lauren (ashtraygurl). this diary is locked, but i can let you in if you'd like. anyhoo, i should be in town for ozzfest, if everything goes right. if your wifey's up to it (what w/her injury and all) perhaps we could all meet up? ttyl.
from sapphicpoet :
Thanks for the message, both of them. You didn't sound preachy, and what you said is true. It was a momentary lapse in judgement, but I'm over it. By the way, I hope your wife's hand is feeling a little better. I wish her a speedy recovery. And don't worry about her brother, Karma will eventually catch up with him.
from impetuousme :
well, here i came to thank you for posting to my site again, and for relating to what i wrote, and i see that YOu are, or were feeling like shit yesterday. I DO hope you are feeling better today. I guess being female just bites sometimes. If only i knew. All i DO know is... it's best to be kind and sympathetic when someone near you is going through all that. so, i hope YOUR wife is doing so... you know?
from sacredspiral :
You were right-not a good look. Oh well. -Ariadne
from gumphood :
what do you think about thunderstorms.
from favoritegirl :
so sorry for your wife's broken hand...i wish all the best to both of you!!
from sacredspiral :
Not sure. I only have a few criteria for where I will work: no children or old people, no fast food jobs, and none that requires to prostitute my body, get an advanced degree, or wear a suit. I know, not a lot I can do there. But I have insisted to my mother that if any job I have won't allow dyed hair, I'll wear a headwrap to work. Nothing to it. -Ariadne

Tell your wife I said thank you for putting me under her Favorites. -Ariadne
from ashtraygurl :
NO! don't tell me the weather's bad that way too...I'm going to WPB tonite to get away from Charley :(. I was hoping I could sit on the beach and drink a daiquiri and laugh at my friends who didn't leave. Dammit. Oh, and I have a beagle, so I know all about ar ar ar ar...does yours gnaw on your arm affectionately AND make that noise...every damn time you come home? That's what mine does. Sometimes it's cute, sometimes annoying. Damn. This note's really long. Ah well. xoxo...Lauren
from impetuousme :
hey... thanks for leaving a note last week... man, it's so cool when people can relate to shit you're going through. And you are right, caring for ones spouse aint all bad. Anyway, thanks again, I'll be checking back.
from gumphood :
SNAP! Nice one. A dollar more and hour and now you can look for a new job WHILE you have a better paying one! Nice!
from gumphood :
did you really or did my cookie talking crazy week just drive you to temporarily insanity.
from ashtraygurl :
yay for you!!! <3
from ashtraygurl :
MadM--Melissa Auf Der Maur. She used to be the bassist for Hole. Then she wrapped up the final chapter of Smashing Pumpkins. Now, she's got her own group/disc...and it rocks!! You should buy the disc ASAP, it's called Auf Der Maur. Or check out songs at www.aufdermaur.com. I would say it's like heavy pop rock. Either way, it's great. xoxo Lauren
from sacredspiral :
I really don't listen to radio anymore, either, unless you count the Sirius channels I get free because I have satellite tv. But I do read some of the rock music magazines religiously. If I become intrigued by a band I read about, I try to find out as much as I can about the band. Then I go to the local FYE store and see if they have any of said band's albums. If so, they have listening stations all over-you just scan the barcode of the album at one of them, and you'll hear little clips of all the songs on the album. I have found quite a few really good artists this way. And avoided wasting money on crappy artists! Goddess Bless. -Ariadne
from gumphood :
Ali, are you doing alright. You seem really upset lately. Can I help at all?
from ashtraygurl :
*hugs* hope things get better!
from ashtraygurl :
congrats!
from ashtraygurl :
i'll definitely do that! i'm already excited :)
from ashtraygurl :
well i should be in wpb the end of this month if everything goes as planned (which it never does)...but if not, definitely late august/early september. i'd love to meet up sometime when i'm over your way...it'd be cool to actually know someone over there!
from dalyrical1 :
yeah...south jersey, right? i'm not far from cherry hill mall.
from gumphood :
hurrah for the 3 day weekend
from gumphood :
oh gawd. I am sorry. I wish I could help. 2 more til 300. Oh god. Maybe some coffee?
from ashtraygurl :
it sounds like we are stuck in the same rut!!
from gumphood :
if you email me, there are a few things I could share with you.
from gumphood :
oh my. your neck. It worries me. ARe you going to be okay? Pillows? mattress? What will help!?
from ashtraygurl :
yay! i liked your poem :)
from ashtraygurl :
gah. sounds like summertime in florida...the rain makes life so much more crappy, doesn't it?
from gumphood :
sometimes short is wonderful because of the fun. I am sorry it turned into dog city. DOG CIIIITAAAA
from ashtraygurl :
it sucks when the weekend is too short!
from dalyrical1 :
morristown? i used to live in marlton...now i live in stratford...ha...small world.
from ashtraygurl :
woo...beastie boys...i was so excited for this cd to come out...i'm kind of glad it's a little more old school and schtuff...and i must say grey hair suits the boys well (they're snexy, i tell you!)
from gumphood :
You have dunkin donuts down there?!? And as far as things go, they are changing. Look at the riots in the 60's...and now...things are diffrent, and will change as the old men die off, and new generations take over. But for now they hold on to their power.
from gumphood :
I hope this is a move in a good direction. Sorry it too me so long to check up, but I haven't been around in a few days.
from ashtraygurl :
I know exactly what you mean! Songs, smells, scenery all tend to trigger memories for me. I discussed it once in my diary thinking I'd get some huge response, and only one person responded. At least now i know there are two ppl out there like me (scary thought!).
from gumphood :
I saw the Potter movie. I really liked it, but frankly, I haven't read the books, so thats a big diffrence. I liked it, but the Peter Petagrue mystery/ending was slightly unsatisfing.
from gumphood :
social settings can be very draining to some, which to me makes me feel like you are a natural introvert who can act extroverted. However often when you are in those situations (public arena) it can be rewarding. I hope you flurish.
from gumphood :
Hi ali. I hope your weekend was slendiforous. Mine was lovely enough. Though I guess it could have been better.
from ashtraygurl :
glad things are going well
from ashtraygurl :
hope your day goes better!
from sacredspiral :
Actually, I haven't heard from him in quite some time. In fact, the time I told him about Jeannie's Secrets was the last time I saw of him. I also spoke to Justin today and he theorized that maybe the runes were how she communicated with me, so maybe I should start studying up on them. I hate runes. At least with Tarot cards, you can use the symbolism in the cards to figure out your own interpretation of what they mean. Runes are different. Still, if this is how she's going to communicate with me...well, maybe it would be a good idea to learn how to work them. -Ariadne
from sacredspiral :
I was led to a cave with a very narrow opening, then when I got inside, I saw that the narrow passageway led to a cavern with a rather deep lake in it, the only bridge being a rather narrow deposit of stones, with a small strip of land on the other side. She walked across it, making a gesture that I was to follow her. I somehow managed to balance myself on it, meeting her there. I sat down next to her and she gave me a little nuzzle on the face before disappearing. That night, I had a dream that I was on that same exact stump, playing with her, and suddenly she made a mark on the ground with her hoof that looked like a rune. I've been looking it up and discovered that this particular rune refers to communication. Now, I know she wouldn't be putting this particular rune on the ground in front of me if it wasn't important. What do you think? Godesss Bless. -Ariadne
from sacredspiral :
Well, it involves imagining you are walking into a dense forest until you get to a clearing where there is a stump. You sit there and look for the animal that comes up to you. That is your spirit guide. If it runs away, you follow it where ever it goes. Sometimes, it will test you with a task. That's what mine did. I succeeded, so I guess she likes me. Goddess Bless -Ariadne
from ashtraygurl :
i didn't realize you lived so close to me (relatively speaking that is)...i'm only about 3 hours away from WPB, on the west coast. my gram told me to stay out of the water b/c of the riptide too, i'll definitely steer clear (especially after those margaritas, THAT would be a tragedy waiting to happen!!)
from sacredspiral :
I'm not sure I understand what you mean by that. Are you saying I really did mess up, or that I did the right thing? Goddess Bless. -Ariadne
from ashtraygurl :
gotta love that 'check engine' light, it always seems to know when to click on, eh?
from gumphood :
Hi aliop. heheehehe. You are like the queen of buying things. Or is this the year of the purchases. I think that my girlfriend thinks it the year of the purse purchases.
from sacredspiral :
The brunette was Nichole and the blonde (the one who won) was Jamie. So, you're not the only one who thought Jeannie was rude? I once made the mistake of visiting the place when Jeannie was working. She was so bitchy to me I stormed out immediately. And ever since I've only gone on Fridays, when I am certain she's not around. Rarely buy a damn thing, but I love the energy. Goddess Bless. -Ariadne
from sacredspiral :
Yeah, I saw it. I was hoping Nichole would win but, at least with Jamie the money might be put to good use. Oh, and it was so funny how Kelly took the opporotunity at the dinner table to once again make an ass of herself. Goddess, I do hope they do another one!
from gumphood :
I mean, I am sorry. That guys a pig -F***er
from gumphood :
hey there. Don't forget confusing the gas with the brake. That's fun too.
from gumphood :
that kinda ass gives guys a bad name. Take some self-repsonsability!
from sacredspiral :
Now I have mixed feeling about Loana. She seems to be one of those people who mean well, but end up screwing things up royally in the end. And I almost feel sorry for Fiona, she's done so much for her.I also saw the previews for the next one. It seems the past guests will be visiting. By the Gods, that should be interesting! Goddess Bless -Ariadne

I have about as good a gaydar as lets say...Kit from nightrider, so I am not sure, but I think she might have a boyfriend, but I wouldn't be surprised if she plays on both teams or at least was drafted by one and was traded to the other. That's just my sucpision. Her roommate now is on your team for sure.
from sacredspiral :
You mean Nicole, the brunette? She's a nice girl. I personally don't think she's as fake as everyone thinks she is. And I'm not sure what to make of the guy who got kicked off. He definately looked like he had some issues, despite of what he claimed. But I really didn't like the way Ta'shia and Fiona treated him about it. And I used to like Loana. Now she seems like a meddling busybody. Oh, I am going to miss this show when it ends! Goddess Bless -Ariadne

I find that women like to prode and prod, while men are just more accepting. I opt depending on the situation, but if it ain't broke...don't fix it.
from gumphood :
I have always liked to think about it this way. If you were promised a cookie for like 10 years, and you worked really hard, and then the cookie turned out to be a ritz cracker...you'd be pissed. The reality is that we imagine life to be better than what it is. We beleive that we can do anything. We can't...you are born with certain habits in a certain life, and there is no way to break that mold sometimes. In truth the problem is are rarley bad enough to be pitful, or good enough to be regarded as such. Hence, bitterness and jealousy.
from sacredspiral :
Glad to be of help. I was glad they kicked her off myself. Well, that and that young Christian guy who refused to get involved in rituals. And the vet who talked too damn much. BTW, you accidently sent your message twice. Goddess Bless. -Ariadne
from gumphood :
Taxation without Representation. That was a the straw in the split. Anyway, I think, and I write about this alot, the the dreams are the illision of innocence. As you grow more mature, your innocence fades, your dreams died, and you become a more cynical adult. This is why kids are so magical, and old people are so crotchcty. hehe.
from lovetolaugh4 :
Hey. Um, yeah, the way my friends and I use 'narly', it has no 'g'. 'gnarly' usually means 'mangled up; knotted; old'. Haha, sorry, just haad to let you know that...
from gumphood :
ALI, I TOO HAVE WAITED FOREVER. I FEAR THOUGH THAT THE BOILER ROOM IS TOO CLASSY A PLACE FOR US TO CONSUMATE OUR LOVE. I WOULD MUCH PREFER TO BE IN YOUR PANTS. I ALSO LIKED HOW YOU SPELLED FRIENDSTER, FIEND-STER. YOU ARE LIKE THE TEA POT TO MY TOASTER.
from gumphood :
I am with you. I am thinking house. But in specific I want to think about helping you if you need anyhtin. Any by that I mean anything.
from gumphood :
Listen I try to never mess with girls, let alone two girls, but it really is too bad they took things that far. I mean...really. Anyway this doesn't makes me think less of anyone except them. It's too bad that isn't true for everyone!
from filet-o-soul :
Hey, sorry this is such a late response--i seem to be way behind on this kind of stuff-- but it's great to hear about you two moving into a house. They are so much better than apartments. I don't know if I could ever go back to one. Congrats! Have an awesome weekend!
from gumphood :
Hey. I just wanted to say goodbye. I hope you back is doing better, and I really hope your enjoy my intern.
from gumphood :
cutest dog ever
from gumphood :
Yeah I have. I know the most about Christianity though. Pretty good with Judaism, not back with Islam, fall apart with Hindu and Buddism, and Some of the "pagan" ones my mom introduced me too. She always felt balance was needed in spirtiuality.
from gumphood :
Well now you have to change your profile. And not plastic surgery, I am talking diaryland. So happy birthday from the gump. You rule. Stay in school.
from gumphood :
Hot Cold Hot Cold...sound like sickness. Only what... 1 hr and 30 min left?!
from gumphood :
A dog! A Beagle! I love beagls. I used to have one, but it died. Don't worry though, it lived a long time!
from gumphood :
A house? Are you buying a house. This is good news I think? Is It! I hope so. Anyway just checking in!
from gumphood :
No problem, now don't forget your married, onto of it all! Anyway, I wanted to ask you a bunch of silly questions about being a lesbian, but I am afraid, though I am from Massachucetts both a friendly and welcoming state, that I just may offend you. The choice, my friend, is yours.
from gumphood :
the hardest thing about being in your situtation is time. You don't see an exit today. But it will come. We look so far ahead. The snake in the desert doesn't get paniced much, because he doesn't think ahead. When people treat you like shit, it sucks...my god it sucks, but have a little faith that in time, maybe not as soon as you will like, but in time, it will change. And also, no blessed be at the end. You must be mad!
from gumphood :
You know that's funny, because today on my way to work, I was trying to go around a turn and this woman honked. Now, I was stopped of course, because I read in Reader's Digest that you have to stop for 30 seconds before a 90 degree turn, and then you must pump your breaks around the turn in case its "damp and slippery" and this woman kept honking. I mean. I know I was in the right, but man, She didn't even pause. She's gonna kill herself I swear it. I mean, trying to go around a turn. That's CRAZY talk!
from gumphood :
People in boston are paying attention. They are just doing it on purpose. It's an amazement we don't die. But in Florida its a bunch of blind as bat assholes.
from gumphood :
who has uttered those forbidden words. I think we both might need some snowballs and a whole LOT of nuns.
from moonsphinx :
Thank you for the note. Of course you are right. But the very smart thing would have been to say something 7 years ago when the mess all started, but I was young scared and didn't know any better. This guy is 21 now...his family can't make him do shit. They never could. I do think he's gone for good, but I still worry sometimes. =)
from gumphood :
You know I was thinkign I saw alot of lesbians' that call themselves grrls, which I think is code. I might be wrong. Do you know about this... you couldn't do it at a party cause you would turn into "bear girl" but maybe I am on to something..
from gumphood :
This is my suggestion. Most of the times fights are cause by not listening to what the other person is saying. What I always try to do is figure why they are upset, and then see if a solution can be answered. The only problem with that plan is that you can't get angry either...which is alot harder than it sounds.
from gumphood :
Hey. I am adopted too, and frankly not only can no one really tell, but I think I am better off for it. Only child...you?
from gumphood :
I think it's easier for guys cause they flaunt it more, but for lesbians...geez. A handshake might be a great idea. Or the mentioning of a certain word in the greeting like "It's dubby pleasure to meet you" Straight people won't even notice "dubby" but the gay crowd will. It will be like their secrete code, except I would know. This would work over the phone too.
from gumphood :
Its often a real pain to have so many of these responsabilities.
from gumphood :
Well you picked a cool lizard to own, so kudos to you. I think it must be exciting nonetheless. Do you have a male to fertilize?
from gumphood :
are the eggs invisiable? Or more like easter eggs and are all diffrent colors.
from gumphood :
I find it really sad actually...that ... The church does this. But I am in it thick as well, since my mother is a minister and a JP, but is actually Catholic. and works in an open and affirming church, but may be threatened to be excommunicated. It's crazy I tell you. Crazy.
from sacredspiral :
Thank you, but I think you should read my latest entry. It was nice of you to leave me a message anyway.-Ariadne
from devian :
i love you and your wife! you both have such awesome perspectives and it warms me to know we aren't alone in this--we can stick together. i guess i forgot how much work there was left for us in this world. it's easy to become complacent (sp?) and just let the conservative machines roll over us...but i remember now. i have found my fire again and i'm glad you have one that you obviously never lost. :)
from gumphood :
That's why I love my state. Go Massachucetts. The judges are like, yep. Laws bullshit. I am like GO Judges!!! Amen and I love that dirty water....Boston you are my home.
from devian :
THANK YOU! i'm so glad someone actually came to MY defense instead of the bigot-sympathizers that have been emailing me. you truly rock! i cannot tell you how happy your note made me. it's equality or nothing.
from gumphood :
YOu gotta make your own coffee to be satisfied. But to me, cause I am NOT a coffee Nazi, I either like it hot or cold. Luke Warm coffee is just no good.
from gumphood :
Well I really hope you feel better. The flu/fever/sickness is no good. At least you have time to rest over New Years. I hope so at least.
from gumphood :
How were your holidays? I hope going well. Happy New Year if I don't get to you before tomarrow.
from gumphood :
Lucky for you, I updated...hahah. Just kidding, at least the entry was long. Anyway...can I say again (read below) this week has lasted two days too long. Just my opinion.
from gumphood :
this week WILL never end...and frankly thats stressing me out.
from gumphood :
Whoa. That's really strange. It's like...the guy was a wacko. And whats this buisness about peeping into a gym? I don't get that?
from gumphood :
thanks for the note. Yeah I know alot of people not doing what they set out to do, but a few that actually are. I am sure that you won't regret going to school for what you did. I mean I majored in econ, and I am betting that art was four years better time spent. If you know what I mean.
from gumphood :
Hi there. That is some office DRAMA. However, I was confused...do you only go into work 4 days now? What is it that you do...it can't be that bad. However I work in MA and we get a hoiliday every month anyway. That's right at least one every month. Can you name them...I can't. Try the August one. Anyway, I am glad you boss likes you and that you are still secure in the job. I hope everything works out great for you. Hope you update again soon.
from mermaid24 :
Surprise sex- LOL. Anyhoo- sorry to hear that yr leaving...your thoughts about being bored at work help keep me from being bored at work :)
from gumphood :
This is very sad to hear that you are leaving. You had such wonderful and lovely thoughts. ... Perhaps you will return.
from gumphood :
I live in Mass and I was so happy to hear that ban was lifted. I only hope that the house and sentate will take it one step further. I am pro-marraige and I think that any two people who love each other and are sane should be allowed to start a family and be seen as a "united" couple. I appauld you for being so open about everything. I personally wish more places in the country were as progressive as up here. Okay...that's it ... for now.
from squirrelrat :
Sorry for not responding sooner -- I don't know enough about American politics to agree that Bush encourages the ghettos or the depraved culture that exists in such settings. Seems a bit too generalizing. Politicians aren't angels, but it's a convenient way to shrug our shoulders at moral depravity and say that the guy in charge is to blame. Democrat, Republican or otherwise, who's to blame for a welfare culture where people breed for more state handouts per child, with no real intention to love their children and bring them up properly, thus encouraging hooliganism? I think whoever's in charge needs to encourage parental (and personal) responsibility by enacting some sort of law that cracks down on errant parents. If we all care so much about kids, how come we aren't concerned about how much neglect they receive at the hands of their parents? And what does that say for our future society? If you're happy with nihilism and anarchy, good on you. But it's not for me nor 95% of the rest of the population.

why would I hate you? You are entitled to your views, just like I am entitled to mine. Hence, the reason for my post today. People who make blanket statments like the one I wrote about are a few fries short of a happy meal.

yer maybe, but things havent changed yet why would they now?
from iwnnabanrchy :
i'm sorry you construed what i was "screaming" at the hippies was bad. it was really just drunken ramblings about how the show was and stupid stuff. if you would read the rest of my diary you would see i do not hate any group of people, except those who kill "for the common good" (see U.S. government). i think that if bush and hussein sat down and smoked a nice bowl of dank, they would find something to agree on. i don't appreciate the judgement based on one entry, but i am sorry for possibly offending you or someone else.

That's nothing! Every once in a while, I'll refuse to do something for him and we'll get into a big fight. The only way it'll stop is if my mother mediates for us. Then, for a couple of days he'll do all the things I do for himself, then just give up and I'll go back to my routine. It's so frickin' frustrating!-Ariadne

I never heard of that. I personally only go to it for the Borders, and occasionally, the FYE. And, yes, I do go into CityPlace's Barnes and Nobles often. However, I have found that I like Borders more because it has a better music and DVD selection. Also, you can pay for your cds and books at the same counter. Blessed Be and thank you for writing. -Ariadne

thank you very much for adding me. I am glad you liked the entry. I think its funny about the boy 2 boy entry I just read. My friend works for the Bravo company that does that as a scout for locations.

Bless your heart! The guestbook message you left me is truly appreciated and the link in your most recent entry ... that was beyond the beyond of kindness I don't have the proper words to thank you. Please know that I'm profoundly grateful. As ever, Xtine

I didn't just 'like' the link you left me --- I absolutely LOVED IT! Thank you so much! Before clicked, I was in a foul, foul mood, but afterwards? Smilin' from ear to ear. Warmest regards, Xtine

Hey thanks for adding me to your favorites list. Im sorry I didnt notice sooner. But I did notice that you and another added me, and in reading your profiles, I realized that you two are married. Thats awesome!! I wish you two the best of luck in everything you do. BTW, dont be so shy, I do have a guestbook you can sign ;D

Thank you for making me a favorite and for the compliment (ohgoddess, if only I could write like Winterson!). I've made you a favorite as well--your entries are amazing. I can't believe you think you can't express yourself--you're amazing, and I would love to see your sculpture. I miss Florida rain, even though I'm getting plenty here in Boston. But New England rain is different than tropical rain, and I miss those heavy, hot/cold drops. *sigh* Thank you for sharing. :)

update April 6, 2020: Sorry, we just had 8+ hours downtime due to a server problem. Restoring from backups took soooo long, but everything is back and no data was lost. Ay yay yay! Anyhow, hope everyone is well with the virus stuff.
