Hey... so question: if one is in a heterosexual relationship and "explores" a gay one.. is that cheating? Why is our society so quick to say that that's ok, while partaking of two heterosexual relationships at the same time is considered cheating and bad?? Is this just 'cause men like the thought of women being together and so are "fine" with lesbian flirtation but not with their girl and another guy? What do you think? Are they the same level of... hrm. I think I should stop giving my two cents when it comes to relationships. I will say this... in my experience, cheating on someone or aiding in someone else's cheating experience never ends up quite as happy as one would hope. I've been through it a couple times, on both sides (the "other woman" and the "taken woman")... and while it's fun in the begining, it never ends up that way. But I still say... only you can make that decision and you need to make it based on what you believe to be the right thing, not what society believes. Just be careful, hon. It sounds like you've already had more than your share of pain....

Hey. I tried to post a note in your "comments" but those aren't working at the moment either. Sheesh. I do have positive things to say, I promise! haha. As for your question... I think I would continue to do whatever made me truly happy. You're the only person responsible for wat you do with your life, the only one who will be answering for it all in the end (if you believe in that, which I do)... therefor the only person who should be making decisions about what to do and not do with that life.. should be YOU! That said, I think I'd be careful to examine exactly WHY I was doing the "thing"... is it because it makes me truly happy and complete, or am I simply amused with my own power ("Ha! I can do whatever I want and you, society, can't fucking stop me!"). If it does, in fact, leave you feeling as though you're doing the RIGHT thing, regardless of what other people outside of yourself think... then by all means... follow your own heart. The poem "Do It Anyway" hung on the wall of the orphanage in Calcutta where Mother Theresa worked...the whole thing has been an inspiration to me, but the last line seems particularly applicable here... "Because in the end, it's all between you and God anyway." Be happy! :)

I'm not trying to be a bad person/friend/whatever...why don't you just talk to her about the stuff she does or the religion stuff she says in front of you. Seems to me, you're jealous of her friend for the attention she's giving her and the connection that they have. In time where your friends have other friends over and are doing things with them, you have to deal. They're only there for a week...how often does she get to see this friend? Isn't it just that she spend a lot of time with them? That's just how I feel about it. Sorry, no offense for real.

Thanks for the suggestions, but we already have those. Also, I once made a joke about Annie On My Mind being the ONLY book I could find in high school, and how dated and simple it was. Don't get me wrong, I still own a copy myself and read it now and again, but there are so many more to choose from now. Also, We just spent a butt load on GLBT books for our department.
