Hey!
from elipsis :
you are so sweet and kind and beautiful. :) i wish we were neighbors so i could come over and invite you to draw on the sidewalk with me, in brightly-colored chalk.
from smokinblues :
apology unneccesary, but accepted. keep your chin up. Things will get better. Life is kinda like one constantly moving oceanic wave...sometimes it's rolling fast and your riding high and can't be beat. Other times no matter what you do you're treading water. But the tide always changes sooner or later. Corny as hell I know, but it's one of things I've learned to be true. All you can do is ride the wave, knowing that neither the good times or the bad times last forever. And it could always be worse. You could live in Mississippi. :)

The link to the celebrity thing was simply something I thought was funny. It was a response written by someone in Hollywood to the celebrities. A lot of the quotes are simply absurd, anyway. I thought it was funny so I posted it. I'm a sarcastic, smartass bastard sometimes. Simple as that. RE: Being not political - what I said originally was that I have spent years being apolitical. Avoiding discussions, not really watching the news, pretty much just taking care of my own business. The war brought back into the political realm, and I'm still working my way back out of it. It ain't easy. For the record, I wouldn't spit on you for wearing a greenpeace shirt. I wouldn't spit on anyone for expressing any one political viewpoint. I only have problem with two groups of political activists, those who get my face (which happens rarely,) and those who break the law. And even those I wouldn't spit on. If I make any sweeping, generalizing statements, it's usually pretty obvious that they ARE sweeping, generalizing statements, and don't apply to each and every SINGLE person within said group. I've written on more than one occasion that I don't have problems with folks who do their homework, have well thought out reasons, and are willing to listen to the other side. Very few people fit into that category. I've always considered you one of them. I'm sorry if you take anything I've posted personally. That's not my intent at all. I always try to take an agree to disagree approach with people I consider friends whose political views differ from mine. If you feel you can't handle reading my writing anymore, that sucks. But I can't do anything about it. Sorry you feel that way. The things I've posted have mostly been for humor's sake. Surely, if I can manage to ignore the link you posted that likened George Bush to Hitler (which I find truly abhorrant), than you can find it in yourself to look past a few jokes here and there. If not, I'm sorry to hear it. All I can do is wish you well in your endeavors. (Either way, if I were to ever see anyone spit on ya I'd kick em in da balls)
from elipsis :
:) you're so sweet. consider it done. your note was just as good...
from z0tl :
rumor has it you are giving away swiss chocolate? can i please have some? i know i haven't said anything to deserve it, but just the same, your heart looks magnanimous from a distance, so... :z
from elipsis :
thank you! sometimes the things i draw/paint/spill surprise me because of how.. i dunno.. uninvited they are. they come from a piece of me that i don't really have access to, so i suppose that's a little magical in itself. :) but i think you know all about magic... your diary is dazzling.
from throwingjuly :
no, i haven't been to europe before, but i think i'll still be updating. who can tell? i'm looking forward to it, though...
from smokinblues :
I wouldn't say it was directed at you so much as your "angry" entry was what started me looking around for other people's opinions, and I read some truly maddening things and then I flipped my lid and typed out that entry. For the record, I mark you in the column of those who sincerely oppose war with well thought out opinions - one of the few. I would never argue that our government is without sin. I wouldn't even argue that our government is to be trusted implicitly. I would just argue that this is one instance where our government is right. And as much as my diary may indicate otherwise, I truly loath politics. It is only the war that has drawn me out of my political shell, because I truly believe that if we do not disarm saddam then he will provide us with the next 9/11 as well as the fact that the people of Iraq need to be set free. But once it's done, I'm going back to music movies sports and sex. Politics make my head hurt. :)
from tasks :
Thank you. I write not caring about content or fans. Nice words are seldom, and I appreciate it.
from gemini-tiger :
hi there! just a quick note to tell you that I locked my diary for some security issues! hehehe...but it's pretty simple to get into : username is guest password is tigergrowl!! :)
from ramanda :
I owe you an email. I'm sorry about that. Things have been crazy. Thanks (as always) for the sweet note in my guestbook. So much for that first date. He hasn't called *sigh* But I'm not too upset as I have new shoes and sexy eyebrows. It's his loss. Or so I'm telling myself. Rest and be kind.
from ramanda :
How much do I love you? People who are so willing and ready to work to change the world really inspire me. Inspire me to what, I'm not sure. But one of these days I'll get off my ass and do something to make this world a better place. You're a peach. I won't have time for a long while, but I'd love to make a layout for you when I do. Come talk to me in May, k?
from orpheusd0wn :
forgive the typo, I was trying to say that men give lower answers than women. Most men respond in the 3 to 7 range, and most women in the 6 to 9 range. Again, that doesn't mean women cheat more, men likely are the same, it's just that there is a false perception of moral superiority in females. I wonder what it comes from, but it's there.
from orpheusd0wn :
I suppose cheating is cheating. I see your point, though. That said, which number between 0 and ten would you actually guess? The point of the survey is to expose a misconception. Men and women cheat about the same, but men think women cheat less than they actually do. Meaning, men typically respond with lower numbers to that question than men. It in no way reflects any perspective on cheating itself, men or women in any way. It's just to illustrate that men underestimate women as people. The subject is dark, but the point is well illustrated, you see?
from throwingjuly :
Thank you for the wonderful advice and compliment. I think I actually blushed. And you're absolutely right on about the war. I just wish there was some way we could get the people in Washington to listen.
from ramanda :
You're too sweet. Really. Thank you.
from orpheusd0wn :
So if you take the idea of pinching yourself to stay awake, and combine it with the idea of pain reminding one that they are alive, I wonder what's going on, but more important than that I worry that you're alright, and hope that bliss finds you soon.
from gemini-tiger :
umm...i hate writing this, becuz i feel like i'm doing a little dirty piece of self-promotion - (and in light of everything and anything that's going in your life) i thought i'd let you know that i added a bio page (which is also my current page today 1-10-03) if you make it over there, thanks...just no teasing! ;)
from orpheusd0wn :
Portland.
from gemini-tiger :

from throwingjuly :
thank you for the wonderful compliment. i'll try to check out that book as soon as i have time.
from gemini-tiger :
hehehe...i just noticed how you had me commented in your favorites!! hehehe....i'll warm the lap up for ya - but i can't be hold accountable for any lumpy spots!!! ;)
from gemini-tiger :
ok, once again - you seem to have alot of great insight on my guestbook!!! and you said i was sexy, so you earn extra credit points in my book!!! :)
from gemini-tiger :
hey jules...thanx for the great feelings you expressed on my notes...you pegged alot of things square in the hole when you spoke up. it's a relief to actually hear from people who understand what it is like - kinda like i and you have said: you really CAN'T understand unless you've been there...so in the respect, you and i are intend 'birds of a feather'. how did you find my diary anyhow?
from orpheusd0wn :
The beauty of irrationality is its lack of permanence. As for the shoes, there's a little known conspiracy dating back to the early 20's regarding women's shoes. Evidently, that generation of men thought it would be funny to sabotage the designs of women's shoes to get back at them for advancing their quest for rights. Horrible men these guys, but to their credit, they're all dead. Seriously, bless you my friend, tomorrow will be better. It has to, tomorrow's Friday. And Sunday is the 22nd, best day of the month, something to look forward to, if you let it.
from orpheusd0wn :
I've not done the work you do, but I can nevertheless see the life sucked out by other jobs. It's a funny thing about karma, or the golen rule, or whatever the hell you want to call it. Just because you're rewarded for your struggle, it doesn't mean you won't struggle. It kills me when people treat faith like a lottery ticket. I work in a call center, I do know how it feels to deal with people throwing either their worst or their problems or both at you all day each day. It's not something everyone was meant to do. I hope fortune finds your efforts, and something tells me it will.
from orpheusd0wn :
Phah and phooey on implants. The only place on the body where beauty really shows is the eyes. The rest is just too subjective to judge. It's a shame we do.
from orpheusd0wn :
See, the thing about sunsets is, they happen everywhere. If you live in a place where you have to search to find one, it only adds to their glory.
from orpheusd0wn :
Oh you are too kind to me. I've wondered about you though, and am glad you've returned.
from mosephine :
(note to self... re-read notes before sumbitting them. i *can* understand loving Boston!)
from mosephine :
actually, that isn't Boston behind me in the pictures... the the Vassar College campus. but even though Vassar is in NY, part of the reason i love it so much is that it feels a lot like New England *smile* and i can't really understand loving Boston... i plan on going back to work there once i've finished college.
from mosephine :
the energy with which you live your life is inspiring. "you must be the change you wish to see in the world"... i've known that quote for so long, but have never felt the deep sense of connection to it that i felt reading your words. i am still looking for a cause that i believe in strongly enough to dedicate myself to. thank you for sharing your thoughts with the world at large... i can see through your words here what makes you so good at what you do. best of luck. ~m~
from timdangerous :
I just wanted to thank you for your very touching and kind entry in my guestbook. i am always thrilled to become aquainted with another animal activist. I look forward to more of your entries! ~t
from orpheusd0wn :
I just wanted to thank you for your kind words and your clever story idea, you made my day. I appreciate that. Take care, be well
from orpheusd0wn :
It's funny that you would be drawn to New Orleans. It has a power that we don't have a word for yet. It's also my favorite city, for many reasons, most of which are shameful, sadly. I admire your courage and drive to fulfil a purpose and need both there and in this world as whole. If you go to N.O., and you start the good fight, could you push for teacher's to get raises? They have an NFL team in New Orleans that wants the city to fork over countless millions for a new stadium, but they can't give teachers raises even now. Sad, huh? Regardless, you rock in my book.
from orpheusd0wn :
You have absolutely the most amazing perspective of anyone I've ever met. I just read your diary, and I can't wait to read more. The wisdom in leadership of knowing when to quit stems from the bad in our life making room for the good, so don't be too hard on yourself. Thank you for your kindness in my guestbook, you'll always be welcome on any porch I ever have.
