from raven72d :
Update!
from raven72d :
What are your weekend plans?
from raven72d :
Clif Bars are good... And tell me about Tommy February 6...
from raven72d :
Nutella is...scary!
from hattermad :
Nice to see you back.:) Even if it is a sullen missive about food and food effects.
from raven72d :
And how is late summer for you?
from raven72d :
Ahhhh... I know that males complain all the time about loneliness and exes, too...
from raven72d :
I do sympathize... I went through the same thing all through 2001-02...
from hattermad :
There's something out there. I know it sounds foolish, but it is true.
from chimericalme :
So about this "people always assuming diary entries are about them" thing... Did the problem for you ever get solved, or at least get better? If it did, which sometimes it seems like it can't, how did you fix it?
from raven72d :
Perfect Blue was really well done... I have to find out if the director has done anything else...
from raven72d :
I'm glad to hear from you!
from hattermad :
Sorry to hear of your achyness. I hope you start coming back soon. I can relate to your other problems very much. Sometimes I don't feel as though I'm completely here. And I'm stuck in a creative backlog myself. It turns into a to much to do, not enough resources situation.
from raven72d :
Tell me about Paradise Kiss...I do love Akbar and Jeff-- they need their own TV series.
from raven72d :
Tare Panda... Tell me about the Floppy Panda and why you like him.
from chimericalme :
I can totally relate to that whole ignorance thing. It must make the world go 'round, cuz they can make shows on MTV off the damn concept. Well... I'm glad that there's another person out there who gets as ticked off by it as I do.
from raven72d :
Tell me about "The Eye"... and come write soon!
from hattermad :
Damn you're intolerant at 3:30 AM...
from intheory27 :
Welcome to the English Majors' d*ring. :)
from hattermad :
OW! That is too much for a knee... The last time I was in Austin, I could have gotten a DVD of 3 old Keaton movies, including "The Paleface." That one is one I'm most interested in, because Iron Maiden used some of the footage for their old "Run To The Hills" video. All Buster's scenes were cut out because of money concerns...
from hattermad :
Sex and flooded trains? Sounds awful damn Freudian to me. Or is it Jungian? I can never figure it out...
from hattermad :
Dammit... I wanted to send you something in regards to the "look like a freak" remark I made a long time ago, but can't find an address. It only took so long because I never had the things with me...
from raven72d :
i hope the ISP improves...
from hattermad :
No, it updated from what I could see. Glad to see you're back, no thanks to whatever your ISP is calling itself this week.
from raven72d :
Nothing ever comes without bias-- someone always selects and edits. But background helps you set up filters.
from hattermad :
Sorry to hear that. I know how you feel though. There's something disconcerting about waking up one day and then wondering what the hell you've been doing, what the hell is going on, and why it feels like there's a big empty hole. Believe me too, I know how terrifying it feels to not want to be the "family fuckup." Maybe an air conditioner might be a good start, or at least a lot of ice water.
from raven72d :
How'd the midterm go?
from hattermad :
Agh. I remember those days... Good luck with it. Even if it can be thrown away.
from hattermad :
Good luck in entering. I hope you get what you want. BTW, you wouldn't want to really see a good portion of my attire... you'd probably think I'm some sort of freak... ;P
from raven72d :
Y'know... I tend to trust talking fish. At least if they're coelocanths... I also trust small invisible Haruki Murakami sheep from Hokkaido...or little Stray Sheep Poe.
from cancer-core :
Ugh- I completely agree with you. Just because I don't agree with Bush doesn't mean I'm for Saddam. By the way- nice layout, nice writing, nice diary.
from raven72d :
Oh, yes-- a made-for-TV thing that tried to be moralizing while still showing teen skin...
from hattermad :
I'm getting nervous too... mostly because I don't know if friends who are supposed to go to the desert will come back, or if they do, what state they will be in. I agree with you a lot on the state of fear thing. I think it's partly media, partly the wackjob sitting behind the Attorney General's desk, but I don't know. Either way it's mot a very settling time at all. I wonder if the talking fish has it right. but then what do I know? I'm just a really, really smart monkey...
from raven72d :
An ornithopter. We all need ornithopters.
from raven72d :
What do you think of Mai Amane...?
from raven72d :
Drop me an e-mail...
from raven72d :
Hokkaido soft cream sounds wonderful... (And there are small wild ponies in Hokkaido-- always a good thing!) Great book to recommend: Alan Booth, "The Roads to Sata"... great travel reportage about Japan [though I'm likely to say not Nihon-go, but Cipangu, the name the Portuguese used in the 1500s...]
from cmzewalk :
I might need you help in my guest book.. I would like to start one, but can't seem to find a layout or a template, Can you do this or not.. If you can how is this done..
from cmzewalk :
Just a ?.. How did you make your page look like that... I have asked some other people and they can not help me out... HELP :0(
from bloodysundae :
You should threaten to take your landlord to court, and document all the damage he doesn't repair with a camera. Take pictures with the newpaper from that day visible so you can prove they were taken on the day in question. Landloards have to provide a certain standard of living, and if yours isn't he has to give you your rent back . . . and still move you into a better apartment.

from raven72d :
I have a Floppy Panda stuffling there on my desk. I regard Tare Panda as a major Shinto kami... And you must visit straysheep.com someday... Little Stray Sheep Poe is delightful. I'll be looking forward to a packing entry in your diary.
from tearsofink :
Holy crap! You say sad panda too! That is SO cool!
from jenikka :
I go to a college here in L.A. It's got a notoriously incompetent administrative staff, but it's cheap and it's close.
from blakdahlia :
I love your template... the little picture of the manga style girls. It's cute! I was about to write in my diary when I saw your banner, so I was curious. Very cute! Where do you go to school? Btw, I had an English teacher like that my freshman year in College... she hated my style of writing too...
from raven72d :
The English 101 teacher is, well...an idiot. Writing is hard-- certainly writing well is hard. But she seems to have zero idea about how to teach it. Small pandas? Ahhhh... the Floppy Panda-- Tare Panda --is wonderful... You must look him up!
from raven72d :
Thanks... I do need to leave her, to travel again. I'm a great believer in the power of new places...
from hattermad :
Nice. The instructor hammers on The Process Mindset as Pure Gospel, and then expects everyone to crap out a perfect paper. I'm so glad I was a technology major instead. ;p At least some things never change with time.
from raven72d :
Thanks... I do appreciate it. And a lovely, lovely couple of books to read-- Italo Calvino, "Invisible Cities"; Haruki Murakami, "A Wild Sheep Chase"; Mary Renault, "The Last of the Wine"...
from raven72d :
I'm not a fan of the over-big and over-crowded. Vienna is the biggest city where I've lived. I've always been a fan of smaller cities with universities-- perhaps a 40-minute drive or an hour by train from a major downtown. But Hokkaido is the Kingdom of the Grail for me-- a mythical place with Ainu, Murakami's invisible sheep (and little Stray Sheep Poe!), ramen stalls, hidden Russian churches, tanuki jazz quartets in the hills, and (of course) Small Mongolian Ponies... I hope you'll read my journal-- and stay in touch. I do like the things you write about.
from hattermad :
Be glad... I'm paying $225 for a place where I have to lift the door into place in order to lock it. I could give you a tour of my hovel, but I guess that's for another day. I also want to say cute header picture. That doesn't sound right, but it's the only thing that comes to mind.
from raven72d :
Good luck on the apartment. And thanks for defining "strawberry"... By the way-- I liked "Rules of Attraction" (novel and film)...
from raven72d :
I've been a major fan of Milla's CD for a while... Delightful songs, excellent video for "The Gentleman Who Fell"... You have an interesting taste in films... I hope you can recommend a few more Japanese horror films... And you may note from my diary (which I hope you'll explore) that I do have a major thing for Hokkaido...and Mongolia.
from jenikka :
Thank you!
from darkartscat :
Your. Layout. Is. PRECIOUS!!!! XD
from multiple :
i love that pic on your template ^_^q
from limabeans :
Freaky again. Tie for me between Miwako and Isabella too.... hmmm... Leaning more to Miwako though, probably because Isabella isn't really given an active role yet. <sigh>
from limabeans :
I love Ayumi Hamasaki, thought Ringu was pretty cool even though it was raw and I don't (yet) speak Japanese, and am a patheticly huge fan of ParaKiss. Are we related? (joke....joke....)
