You can't just tell someone to turn blue. You can't just tell an anorexic to eat. Anorexia nervosa is a serious mental illness, and one of the most lethal ones at that. We do not choose to face the horrors that we do. Obviously, you are too ignorant and bigoted to see that. |

| okay it really pisses me off that you have a diaryring saying anorexia is stupid. I do agree it isnt entirely smart but could you tell a schizophrenic to stop hearing the voices ? As a recovered anorexic i will tell you it isnt about the thinness entirely, it's mainly about control and dieting/starvation is a way of acting out upon this need for control. For some people it may be different but for most it is about control. Please, try and understand what you hate before you protest it... |

| Hi! I just noticed one of your diaryrings and need to comment on it. I'm sort of wondering how much you actually know about eating disorders. Because they are about a lot more than teenage girls who want to be skinny. It's an illness. A really dangerous, often deadly illness. And there are a lot of negative attitudes in the world which do not at all help victims recover in time, which in fact contribute to the shame and self-hate they feel. It might be advantageous for you to do a little research before you advertise hate for people who are just trying to live their lives the best way they know how. If you need help finding information, please let me know. I'd be glad give you some good resources (really!). Sometimes it's hard to know how hurtful your words and actions are- but please remember that they can be. So much. (and no, I don't have an eating disorder) ~ Shannon |
