But yes, we look Asian on the outside and we are Asian on the inside too, but not so Asian that we aren't westernized as well. That's the problem. About Nov. 11 entry - I just came to that realization myself. Me like boy. Boy no call me, me have to call him. Boy say he is continously busy. Me thinks no matter how busy, could call. Boy can e-mail in about a month, when he is done with field training. If he no e-mail, boy go bye-bye, no matter how much I like him. But I realize exactly how stupid I was being, putting so much importance on him. I'm learning that if you just be confident and live and do reach out a little, someone is willing to meet you halfway, not make you walk the whole damn distance. Interesting entry, this was. As an Asian-American myself, I can see how AAs would go either way. Assimilation happens in phases, and unfortunately Asians of different phases are just as guilty of the racism they so easily blame non-Asians for. I'd like to say that people are people, all over, but I know that isn't the way the world works. When I was with my ex (a Jewish white boy), Asian guys would call me a traitor, yet white people would always consider me foreign... even though I speak perfect English. And when I was with my first ex (a Chinese boy raised Thai), his parents thought I was too white-washed for their son. Always not enough of one or too much of the other...

Maybe it isn't so much the friends thing, although, if I had your history (with the cheating and such) I can see your point. What would be best, maybe is that your girl spends time with her friends but, when she's supposed to be spending time with you, that she spends time with ONLY you. You know, like quality time. It's ok for "ten" to have friends, but when she's supposed to be talking to you, she should be giving you her undivided attention. On a side note (as if this isn't already long enough!), I had a boyfriend who would read while he was talking to me on the phone. WTF?!? I said to him, "you're talking to me, dammit, you have the rest of the day for your book." He never changed. I dumped him.
