HAPPY BIRTHDAY! I’m sorry your grandma hurt your feelings, mine would also be hurt. I hope that doesn’t overshadow your day!

from aryssa90 :
Hope you’re doing well and had a good holiday!
from swordfern :
Aww I'm so happy to hear that Willard is cancer-free!!
from swordfern :
Your mother's stream of complaints sounds exhausting, but I had to laugh a bit at your transcription. You have a way of capturing things perfectly.
from catsoul :
9.14.2023. Thanks for the note about BB25. Have you read "The Masterpiece," by Emile? It is also great write. It seems that it is autobiographical to his life. I also read "Nana." That was erotic to say the least. OK then. I love the Bohemian times, OK still due being a hippie girl and all. Take Care. Be Safe. Peace within yourself. =^..^=
from swordfern :
Ughhh hope that your laptop recovers itself once it's dried out....
from swordfern :
I'm okay, pretty tired but recovering. I started writing and couldn't finish but figured I'd post what I'd written for dramatic effect lol.
from swordfern :
It can be hard to see an ex in a new relationship, especially if you aren't in a new one yourself. Your mom is likely a bit jealous even if she hates him. Sounds like she needs to get out and meet someone! Hah.
from swordfern :
Dude, Heide sounds like a terrible person. Who does that kind of crap at work for fun? Sorry that you have to deal with her. She'd drive me nuts too.
from swordfern :
Just coming here to validate that you did the right thing to refuse to provide your sister with your utility bills. Her asking you to do that was unfair and put you in a difficult situation. I'm sorry that you had to deal with that. You are a caring and supportive person, and you don't deserve to be put in that position.
from swordfern :
for.. to... for.. had... hot pot. Haha! I laughed out loud. And tripe? To me it has no flavour, just an interesting chewy texture, more like seaweed than an animal part. I just try to not think about where it came from. I suspect that if you can get over that part that then it's pretty inoffensive. Anyhow, lots of other stuff to eat in life, so likely not worth the mental energy when we so rarely encounter it around here.
from swordfern :
Congrats on your test score! Amazing!
from aryssa90 :
Yay 88!!!! Greta job!
from swordfern :
Ahh I don't think that you need to worry about having spread pink eye. When I've had it before it hasn't even spread to my roommates. Antibiotics usually clear it up really quickly, so hopefully that's the case for you too! Take care!
from aryssa90 :
Happy happy birthday!!! So glad you had an awesome day, you deserve it! Also, I love velveeta Mac, yum!
from swordfern :
Happy Birthday Ms. Sparkle-Pink!

from lust- :
Happy Belated Birthday! Starting it off with mimosas sounds like the right call to me. Haha. Glad you had a nice day. Here's to more joyful memories in the year ahead!
from swordfern :
Happy New Year! I hope that you feel better today after all of that frustration yesterday. I could just feel the tension and anger rising up in me while reading about your series of irritations. Also, I can relate to finally admitting/acknowledging that you don't like something. It can be a huge relief to stop pretending.
from swordfern :
Ugh I'm jealous that you've finished your Christmas shopping! Impressive!
from catsoul :
12.9.2022. I have read Jeffery Deaver. What are the titles of them? Also what haven't you read by Jeff? i may have them and could media mail a box of books out to you. What are some of the titles of any books you want to read, I may have read them and still have them. My mom and dad said, do not send us anymore books, Sue. They are in their 90's now, so I understand. Peace within yourself. =^..^=
from aryssa90 :
Happy Diaryland birthday! Im so glad you're feeling better! Covid is the absolute worst!
from swordfern :
COVID Brain is a real thing. I've felt like a ditz for 10 days now. In terms of having 'given' it to your mom, there's nothing you could do to prevent this asides from one of you going to stay in a hotel, and even then she was likely already exposed before you knew it was COVID. It's neither of your faults; the government could be doing more to prevent community spread (ie. mask mandates).
from swordfern :
So glad to hear that you seem to be on the mend. I've been worried about you and your mom. I can relate to being exhausted from just making a sidekick. I've had to sit down and rest while walking only short distances. I suddenly have much more empathy for elderly folks with heart conditions.
from swordfern :
Ughhhhhh. We are COVID twins! Seriously, though, I hope that you're okay, and I hope that your mother lets you fully rest. You are definitely not a baby - if you get the fever/cough/mucus version it's debilitating (and that's an understatement).
from swordfern :
That non-COVID cough/flu thing is rampant around here. Hope that it resolves for you soon. :(
from swordfern :
I haven't been keeping up with diaries lately, just read back and came across the terrible drama with your sister and brother. Wish I could have sent you a note then - that wasn't fair of them to put you in the middle. Glad to hear that you made it home safely.
from aryssa90 :
I’m sorry that’s happening, you don’t deserve to be put in the middle. You didn’t do anything wrong. It sounds like they’re both being kind of selfish and childish. Take care of yourself <3
from dirtyboots :
Thank you so much for your message. When I feel like I want to stop the change I'm going to read it again. It's the best thing anyone said to me about this. You are a legend.
from swordfern :
Perfect broccoli! Getting broccoli right is so satisfying! I can totally imagine what it looked like. *off to buy broccoli*
from swordfern :
Sorry to hear about Laura's breakdown. You are a good sister. Sometimes there's only so much you can do to help.
from swordfern :
You've inspired me to deal with my bathroom cupboard hoard of hair products that I never use. Thank you!
from swordfern :
Hormones can make your 'weight' fluctuate due to bloating, etc. My weight goes up by and down by 3 lbs throughout my cycle, and I think other women experience an even larger cyclical 'gain'/'loss'. I know how disappointing it can be when the scale doesn't reflect your efforts. Some people focus on 'non scale victories' such as feeling more energetic or sleeping better rather than the oftentimes cruel scale report. Your walk times around the lake are evidence of improved fitness - awesome!
from catsoul :
1.30.2022. I do layers all the time. Sometimes 4 shirts and 3 pair of pants. Gotta stay warm and toasty. It is amazing how thirsty one gets when you don't drink your quota of water per day. I drink 56 to 60 oz. of water per day. It helps keep one's weight down. Peace. =^..^=
from swordfern :
7000 days!!! Impressive! Sorry about the raccoon. It's always hard to see these things.
from catsoul :
1.11.2021. Hello 37. Glad to read that your day was great. Gotta keep those wings coming. Peace within yourself. =^..^=

1.7.2022. Home Sweet Home. Glad that is all over for you and your mom. ACNH makes traveling so, so much easier I would imagine. Take Care. Peace. =^..^=
from swordfern :
You're not bad at all for not caring about your grandfather. Sounds like he was a jerk who doesn't deserve you. You don't need to love someone just because they share genetics. Relationships are earned. Happy New Year!!! Safe travels home.
from swordfern :
I love the idea of gifting 'advantage' coupons for board games. I'm totally going to copy your idea!
from catsoul :
11.20.2021. I agree with Swordfern. Hoping you get big bucks for your car. It would be a win-win. Peace. =^..^=
from swordfern :
I'm so curious what you'll get for your car. My understanding is that cars are hard to get these days, so you may get more than you are expecting? Fingers crossed for you!
from catsoul :
10.27.2021. Cool beans. I would love to come over to your Island on ACNH to see what you got ready for the Gyroids. Thanks. Peace. =^..^=
from catsoul :
10.23.2021. I have to agree with SwordFern. Your mother should appreciate all that you do, from the cooking to the cleaning. Maybe you should rotate weeks of cooking with her. Maybe that will shut her up. I also think that if I was still working, I would be taking a vacation day from work for the ACNH update. Just sayin'. Peace within yourself. =^..^=
from swordfern :
Unsolicited cooking advice?! Ugh, I'd be upset about that too. Maybe she should do the cooking if she's so much better at it. She's lucky to have you doing that work for her!!!
from catsoul :
9.27.2021. I have a new dodo code: G92GD
from catsoul :
9.26.2021. What is your favorite flavor of Gatorade? I only drink orange Gatorade, it quenches my thirst. Have a good upcoming week. Peace. =^..^=
from catsoul :
9.3.2021. So very glad to read that your plugged ear issue is over with. Wow, that had to be so annoying, to say the least. I relate to getting that hair washed big time. I am about due to have to shower and wash my hair soon. So, you have a good weekend, get a few naps in! Peace. =^..^=
from catsoul :
8.25.2021. Dah, who knew. the Dodo code is: FS7V5m and Orville says it is good for one time. I was hoping that he would just fling open the gate, but apparently that isn't how it works. This old fart figured it out. I am sometimes like your mom, not too tech savy, hahahahaha. Thank you. =^..^=
from catsoul :
8.25.2021. No problemo about responding. I understand completely. No I am NOT Cass. My Island is called Sugar Magic. I will go to the airlines and figure out how to open the gate. I have never done this, it is good to do something new, right. I will take whatever you want to donate Sparkle. I just sooooo appreciate it greatly. If you need anything on your Island I just may have it. Oh, I sure don't need any bells. I harvest so many pumpkins. I also watch BB23. Derek just might stay if Tiff plants a few seed whispers in people's ears I heard. Take care. Peace. =^..^=
from catsoul :
8.24.2021. Glad you are home, all safe. You are probably soooooo happy to get all comfy cozy. Bonus is that you unpacked!! Unpacking is such a chore. Take care. Peace. =^..^=
from catsoul :
8.22.2021. Howdy do. Safe travels back to your "roost." In answer to your question about having an Nintendo account, yes I do. So you can send green mums if you want to. I don't know how that works though, if you need any other info?? The only fruit trees I have are peach and cherry. I don't know what you need for your Island, just let me know if you need something, I may just have it in storage. Thanks for all your vast experience and knowledge about ACNH. I greeatly appreciate this. Peace within yourself. Peace. =^..^=
from catsoul :
8.19.2021. I agree with Swordfern. Let it rain. Who the fuck wants to do anything when one's monthly is going on and so heavy. Been there, done that. So glad when I went through and was done with menopause. Back to ACNH, your Island is sooooo awesome and beautiful. Thanks for the compliment about my Island. I still have a lot to do, it is a slow go. I finally got everything put in storage. I go from evaluations 3 and 4. I don't want to over decorate, so there you go. I see you have loads of lily of the valley flowers. My Grandma G. had them all around her farm house in ND and around her hugely immense vegetable garden. I love their smell and the memories that go with them. Only 3 more days to go, if you drive back on Sunday, hang in there, you can do it. Peace within yourself. Peace. =^..^=
from swordfern :
Ugh, what's the point of floating if it's too cold? It's supposed to be fun! I hope for your sake that it does rain so that the thing is cancelled.
from catsoul :
8.16.2021. Hi Again. Glad you made it safely. I will assume that you bring your Switch/games. I tried your DA 4 different times and I couldn't see your Island. I did figure out what my DA is and updated it. DA-8157-1953-8232. Peace. =^..^=
from catsoul :
8.15.2021. Thanks for the note. I will have to figure out how to get a dream address. It is all sooooo new to me. I am still working on growing green mums. Peace. =^..^=
from catsoul :
8.14.2021. Sounds beautiful, your lashes. So collecting posters in ACNH, I am wondering what you are making. Do you have a Dream Address? Have a good weekend. Take care. Peace. =^..^=
from catsoul :
8.10.2021. Do you take probiotics? If you don't, do some research on it. Then if you decide to try probiotics, only buy the probiotics that are refrigerated. Peace. =^..^=
from catsoul :
7.12.2021. You must time travel to get to be about a week ahead in ACNH. Glad you are getting some rest and relaxation. Summers go by way too fast, if you ask me. Peace. =^..^=
from swordfern :
"I trust my immune system." LOL. I don't have people like that in my network so it's VERY interesting to hear their 'logic'.
from catsoul :
5.5.2021. I am curious, what did they do to your lashes? Anyhoo, have a great rest of the week. Peace. =^..^=
from catsoul :
2.18.2021. Glad to read that your sister is improving. Baby steps & one moment at a time. About that awful peanut sauce. Ever think about making your own, creating your own recipe to your taste with seasons. I don't think that would be too hard, do you. Peanut butter, some sort of oil I would imagine and some spice blend you like. Have you ever made any food using 5 Spice. I use 5 Spice all the time in recipes for Randy. Anyhoo, glad you got your hair washed, I can so, so, so relate to that one. Take Care. Peace. =^..^=

Congrats on your exam! You're so rad!
from swordfern :
I agree with catsoul - I think it's OK for you to wish for a solo trip to visit with your dad alone. I know your mom will feel left out, but you can try to explain to her that she gets you to herself every day! I am working on being more firm on my boundaries so this really stands out for me as an opportunity to gift yourself the trip that you truly desire. Standing up to parents is hard - verging on impossible. Good luck! :(
from catsoul :
1.31.2021. Hi. Are you comfortable just mentioning to your mom that you would like to do a solo trip? It is alright to be kind to yourself. Peace. =^..^=
from swordfern :
Haha I forgot about the Earnest movies! They were my favourite when I was a kid. It'd be interesting to re-watch them to see how terrible they are (or are not?).
from catsoul :
1.19.2021. Wow, I am impressed with all that you got accomplished with your organizing. Are you available as a motivator? I have some clutter and I could use a coach. I know, only I can do this. OK then. Peace. =^..^=
from swordfern :
Happy Birthday!
from lust- :
Happy Belated Birthday, Jess. I'm glad you had a nice day. Hope the year ahead is full of joy, laughter, love and abundance. You deserve the best.xo
from catsoul :
1.10.2021. Happy, happy birthday today, you young, talented Whipper Snapper. Peace. =^..^=
from swordfern :
Merry Christmas! Looking forward to learning more about you and your life through your diary. It's always interesting to read about your (mis)adventures, family dynamics, and musical career!
from catsoul :
12.20.2020. Yes, the big question is: why?? Does your mother hear herself, siding with a person who is not her daughter. I am so sad that you and your family are having all this mama drama going on, and it just continues. Those words, "let it go," are so critical to one's peace within themself. Take care. Be Safe. Peace. =^..^=
from swordfern :
I'm impressed with your dedication to piano lessons this year! It's inspiring to see you do this despite all of the barriers that emerged.
from lust- :
Happy Belated Birthday to your journal! Also, pumpkin praline dessert sounds absolutely divine!
from catsoul :
11.22.2020. Hi. You haven't lived until you pee and/or poop in your pants. It is alright to do that. Circumstances happen. Is it true that your sister Steph, owes this guy that much money? Maybe that is why he is bothering her so much all the time. He shouldn't be bothering your mom or you guilting you both and involving you in your sister's debts. Glad that chicken burger was excellent, hope you got fries and a shake with that. Be Safe. Take Care. Peace. =^..^=
from aryssa90 :
Hey there! Hope you’re doing well. I’m sorry about the situation with your sister, that’s stressful! I know we only get glimpses of things people write and I am not meaning to be offensive at all when I ask this so I’m apologizing early if it comes off that way. You seem to help her out a lot (which I get) but I’m wondering if you feel it might be a bit enabling? Especially since she’s doing things like going on vacation and not really spending her money wisely. It just seems unfair that a lot of the burden of helping her out falls on you. I know you love her and it’s a hard situation but sometimes (in my experience) people need to hit rock bottom and help themselves. Again, not meaning to be offensive or intrusive at all!
from catsoul :
11.12.2020. I don't watch a whole lot of movies, I did watch Gone Girl. I really liked that movie also. You are so kind J. Your family is sooooo lucky to have you in their family. Peace. =^..^=
from swordfern :
Do you keep a spreadsheet with ratings of the movies that you've watched? I'd love to know your top picks to add to my 'to watch' list!
from swordfern :
ha ha ha! i love that haiku. thanks for sharing. hope that you get some pretty snow up there on the hill!
from swordfern :
I've found that some people are just habitual complainers. Maybe it's a way of getting attention? Maybe it's a way to defer responsibility to others? Both of your solutions (separate account, shorter walk) are great solutions and show that you care. Not sure what her problem is to not allow you to help her. She's lucky to have such a fabulous daughter.
from lust- :
Very glad things checked out alright with the mammogram. Totally creeped out by the Chris situation. Would be so nice if your mom had her daughter's backs in all of this. That dude seems fucking vile.
from catsoul :
10.20.2020. Hi J. Chew on this for a bit. One of my mantras that took me a few long years to internalize. "To be in control, is to let go of control." Think about how you want to be, "at peace within yourself." Your favorite time of year you wrote is Christmas. Only you can control your involvement and feelings. Is it all really, truly worth it to get so involved that it affects your inner peace? Only you can control it. Peace. =^..^=
from swordfern :
I think you'd be a fantastic cat mom! Hope that you find a nice and friendly snuggle buddy!
from catsoul :
10.14.2020. Good Morning. That would be so awesome to have a cat. We have two. I know you have read about them and how they entered our lives. Are you on FB? If you are and are interested, maybe we could be friends there and you could see all my pics there. So many are of pets, past and present. Stay safe. Take Care. Peace. =^..^=

10.12.2020. Happy Thanksgiving to you and your mom. Your meal sounds like what I make for Randy. I make a whole turkey and all the fixins' sometimes 3 times a year. I still need to "perfect" the gravy. I try, though my mom's turkey gravy is soooooo good. Thank you for being so prompt about your PW. I missed reading about you and your mom's days. Take care. Be safe. Peace. =^..^=
from swordfern :
You're doing virtual piano lessons with a THREE YEAR OLD??? WTF. That's insanity. I'm not sure what everyone is expecting, but I'm sure that you're doing the best that anyone could with that situation.
from catsoul :
9.29.2020. Hi. Glad to read you are feeling better emotional. FarmVille is going to end on 12.31.2020. I have been playing it for 10 years. Now I am going to revisit buying a switch and getting Animal Crossing. I always seem to have more down time in the Winter months, since I can only be outside for short durations of time. I read that they have a Halloween theme coming out for Animal Crossing. Have you heard? Take care. Be safe. Peace. =^..^=
from catsoul :
9.15.2020. Moms.....right. You love them and then gee whiz there are times, at least for myself, I wonder "am I really related to you bitch?" hahahahaha. I so know that feeling you were writing about. Whoopie for you, taking piano lessons. Bravo. Be safe. Take care. Peace. =^..^=
from dangerspouse :
Atavan and liquor. Breakfast of champions! That's get you through a piano lesson - or anything else - alright. Well done, teacher!
from lust- :
That's awesome that you'll be teaching piano as well! Congrats!
from catsoul :
9.4.2020. I am sure that you will be a fun and excellent piano teacher. Believe in yourself! I don't know if I ever wrote this in Diaryland, I took piano lessons from grade 3 to when I graduated from high school. The last two years I was taught how to improvise. To this day, it was one of the best techniques Mr. Burley decided to expose and teach me about piano. In fact the ability to improvise on the piano transferred over to learning to play the guitar. One of my all time favorite pieces to improvise and I can play it also on my guitar is: "House of the Rising Sun." That is such a beautiful song and my voice fits in with that so well. It would be awesome if you would record yourself sometime and post it. Do you put anything on Youtube? I have a nephew, Justin Larkin, who is gifted in music. He is in a group now. He wrote a song from one of my poems I wrote. It is about the woods and trees. Anyhoo, have a good weekend you and your mom. Peace. =^..^=
from catsoul :
8.16.2020. Hi. I have found out that as I am aging, I don't have the air conditioner running on as low of a temp as I used to. In the past couple of years I am wearing my hoodie a lot, and wear pants all the time. I believe it is an age thing, it takes old farts longer to warm up. As for grocery shopping, I always have a list. I don't do people well, and I keep to my list, in and out, as quickly as I can possibly go. Sleep as long as you need to. They say, while we sleep, we are healing and recharging. Peace. =^..^=
from dangerspouse :
'Attal girl! I hope you post how the crepes come out when you finally do attempt them again - along with the recipe, which I'm insanely curious to read :)
from dangerspouse :
Thanks so much for letting me in! So...making crepes are "annoying"? Then they really ARE French! Ok, ok, stupid joke. But what about it do you find annoying? It's basically just thin pancake batter that cooks in seconds. You don't even need tools - you flip them with your hands! That's it, next time I'm in your neighborhood I'm forcing my way into your kitchen to show you, restraining order be damned. (Lol - the "Put it in reverse, Timmy!" cracked me up. I guess that's how he ended up in the wheelchair in the first place.)
from dangerspouse :
Hey clarinet player, care to give a flute player the keys to your kingdom? I'd love to read your stuff, so if you're amenable, would you mind shooting me your password? You can either put it my notes (I'll erase it on seeing it) or if you feel safer: notepad101(at)hotmail. Thanks!
from catsoul :
7.17.2020. Hi Again. Glad to read how smoothly life is rolling along with having your mom there. It sounds nice to have someone there with you. I still haven't decided about the Switch. I know I don't want a Lite Switch. I have read and researched a lot at the Lite Switch and people don't seem to be as sayoutisfied with the Lite. So may I ask what model number you bought? I downloaded Animal Crossing Camp I believe it is called to my phone. I am starting to like it. With that being said, we will see. Winter is a few months away yet, so I can continue to save and decide. Enjoy your weekend you two. Have you ever taken the ferry with your mom to that Island off the coast over there? Peace. =^..^=
from swordfern :
So glad to hear that things are going well with your Mom. Morning coffee on the balcony sounds so nice!
from catsoul :
6.24.2020. So glad you won't be sharing with your mom. I agree with you totally and for her being safe. Well worth the little extra per month. Peace. =^..^=

from swordfern :
Hahahaha... share your cell phone!!! Older people are hilarious. Good idea to get the landline. As you said, totally worth the $35.
from catsoul :
6.11.2020. Thank you for your note back to me. I was watching a movie based on a place in Uruguay. It is called, "Silent House." Scary as shit, I kid you not. I had to keep watching. Then I researched it and found out it was real. Makes it seem more scary. Reality can be too much sometimes. So dear mom is moving in. Two gal pals together. I don't think that I could live with my mother Phyllis, so bless you. I am still on the fence about buying whatever you play Animal Crossing on because I play Farmville and I know how much I like that. Though during the Winters, it may be nice to have something else enjoyable to play. So exactly what device did you buy and how expensive was it? I live on a fixed income being retired, so I figure I would have to save up for a few months. OK then. You be safe, take care. Peace. =^..^=
from catsoul :
6.10.2020. I also agree that you are not to blame for what your sister chose to do. Be kind to yourself. Is your mother going to move in with you because you mention her and getting her room all ready? Be at peace within yourself. Peace. =^..^=
from swordfern :
You are NOT responsible for her self-medication. Try to be gentle with yourself - you set your boundaries and only she is in control of her response. I know it feels hard. It's a horrible situation for you and her. It's not fair for her to put her hardship onto you as guilt. I know you care deeply about her; I hope that she finds a better way to deal with her strong emotions. xoxox
from swordfern :
I used to live two blocks from Como Lake and would walk around it nearly every day. I remember there being ducklings? Beautiful spot!

from catsoul :
4.17.2020. How awesome is that!! You should post some pics of your decorating ac, please. I should really buy myself this game and whatever the device it is called you are playing on. I have played FV on FB since it started, and I still play FV. Did you ever play FV? Take Care. Be Safe. Peace. =^..^=
from catsoul :
4.3.2020. Howdy Do. So glad it has been going smoothly for you, your move and all. The unpacking, is just that. A task that just has to be. Then you can get back to ac. So happy for you. Take Care. Peace. =^..^=
from catsoul :
3.26.2020. Hi. Hope ac goes past 99k for you. I am curious what is the name of your planner. I too could use some direction with my tasks. I get distracted when I am outside, I wander a lot because I collect plants for making healing salves and teas. I leave the house here, telling myself I will be come back soon, and then I look up into the sky if the sun is out, and go damn, it is way later than I thought. Sometimes hours have passed. So I am curious to know all about your planner and accomplishment Sparkle. Take Care. Peace. =^..^=
from catsoul :
3.22.2020. I am super impressed about catching 100 fish all in a row. I also feel a great accomplishment when I shower and get my hair washed task done, bonus is for you endless hot water. Take Care. Peace.
from lust- :
I love your process with the planner and highlighting in different colours. I may need to use it, as well. Also, good job on ordering Animal Crossing online. There were people lined up in very close proximity in Toronto outside an EB games the day that game and another one came out and now there may be major repercussions to the business owners and rightfully so. Thanks for being safe! Glad you're still able to hold classes online and keep the money flowing.xo

That's amazing about the new place! Congrats! I'm so glad it all worked out and will take some of the stress away.
from swordfern :
Yay! Top floor with balcony! Sweet!
from lust- :
Sending so much love to you. Definitely a good idea to up the Dr. appointments, especially at a time like this. You're in my heart.xo
from swordfern :
Being evicted is right up there with divorce and loss of family member in terms of major life stress. All you can do is keep looking and applying. Despite not having posh careers, you and your mother are desirable as reliable and stable tenants. Deep breaths. We are here for you and feel for you during this rough time. *hug*
from lust- :
That seems pretty unreasonable that they don't even allow smoking outside, either. How about vaping?! That is so big these days! I feel as if they're making their own rules.
from lust- :
Fuuuck. Sounds brutal. Wish I was there to help out. Sending the best of vibes that you find a good place to move in to very soon.xo
from aryssa90 :
I’m so sorry this housing situation is still going on. It’s super frustrating. You’re a strong person and hopefully soon this will be behind you. We’re here for support!
from swordfern :
Happy Birthday, neighbour! I've enjoyed getting to know you through your diary this year. Hope this year brings less apartment leaks and more great movies!
from lust- :
Happy Belated, my dear! I'm glad you had a good day. Hope the weekend is amazing.xo
from aryssa90 :
Happy birthday! I’m glad you liked The Purge. I love that series. I think election year is my favorite of them.
from lust- :
So, overall the trip was good? Must feel good to be home though!
from aryssa90 :
Sounds like you’re having fun! I’ve never had Antons but I can tell you the Buca di Beppo is just a subpar chain here :) happy holidays!
from lust- :
Enjoy your holiday! Glad that you'll be playing Animal Crossing on the day of release-I know how much you love that game! I remember that story you told me 'bout you & Laura going to lineup for the game and you were the only adults in a sea of children-priceless! Sending lots of love to you & your fam.xo
from swordfern :
Do you have tenant insurance? Even if you don't, it seems like the landlord's insurance could possibly pay for your relocation during the repairs? I hope the tenant hotline can help you out. At a minimum, it seems like your rent should be waived for the duration of the repairs. So much extra stress on top of everything else. I'd be having a tantrum for sure.
from swordfern :
Ugh. Just read about the flooding and zero-notice moving. All horrible. Glad that your network is helping you out.
from lust- :
Ugh. Sounds so stressful! I'm glad To helped by booking an Air BnB. Keep your chin up! Appreciate small moments in between the chaos.xo
from lust- :
Wish I was there and we could go for a coffee and some baked goods on The Drive. Miss & love you.xo
from catsoul :
11.10.19. hi. any chance to read what you write? if yes my email is: [email protected] Thank you. Peace. =^..^-
from swordfern :
The symphony was playing along to the movie Casa Blanca, which was shown on a big screen hanging abvoe the orchestra. It was a neat experience. I'd like to go again to a different type of performance!
from swordfern :
Thinking of your Dad. Hope you're doing OK. That's scary, especially when he's in another city.
from aryssa90 :
Glad to hear your dads doing better! Hopefully the pain ends soon :)
from swordfern :
Sending compassion. Hope that the panic attack has passed and that you're feeling better. xoxo
from lust- :
I try to see 'failures' as learning experiences. Also, another thing is to break up your list into small sections and only try to do one thing a day (like, take a shower or brush your hair). Then if it's too difficult to do more than that one thing, at least you feel somewhat accomplished. I'm glad you'll be getting out today!xo
from lust- :
Yeah, it took M awhile to get the right medication combo, too. Tis a tough one! I hope the Prozac kicks in for me soon! Have fun with the fam jam.xo
from swordfern :
Hah. All of your Children of the Corn reviews made me laugh.
from swordfern :
That dessert sounds amazing. No wonder she called you for it!
from swordfern :
Oooh! Grandma needed a recipe from you?! It's always me calling my older relatives for THEIR recipes! What was the recipe?
from swordfern :
Hope you're doing OK. I'm worried about you and hope that you get some answers from your doctor.
from lust- :
Sending you love. The stigma behind depression is so real.
from swordfern :
You, my friend, are a sleeping champ. Envious!
from swordfern :
Your period haiku made me laugh out loud.
from swordfern :
I bet there's a place out there that would welcome her age and experience, especially if the store caters to older customers. And I'm sure that you lifted her spirits! :)
from swordfern :
Ahh, thanks re: apartment. I'm so excited to have my own little home! Listening to your mom for an hour is a generous gift to her from you; sometimes people just need a safe ear to listen to all of their problems.
from swordfern :
Congrats on the piano and the perfect parallel park. Both worthy achievements! Sorry to hear about you Mom losing her job. Even though the manager is an asshole, it's still a stressful situation. Sending good 'new job' vibes her way!
from lust- :
Wow! What an absolute steal on the piano! It also sounds as if the stars aligned (parking, finding a cheaper, more suitable one), so you were able to get what you want and deserve. Enjoy!
from aryssa90 :
A) I second Lusts comment-Spider-Man into the Spiderverse is SOOO good, highly recommend B) I am SO excited for you to get a piano! You’ve been talking about saving for one for awhile!!! I was honestly so happy for you when I read that. Glad you had a great day!
from lust- :
Have you watched Spider Man: Into the Spider-Verse, yet?! It's soooo good!
from swordfern :
Thank you! I read a few of your entries and it looks like we may live in the same region... :)
from swordfern :
Hi Jessica!! Thanks for the add! May I read your diary? If you don't wish to leave the p/w in a note, my email is [email protected].
from whaleart :
Well, you got my curiousity up -- may I also read you..?
from aryssa90 :
I also loved the new Spider-Man movie! So funny!
from aryssa90 :
Happy happy birthday!
from aryssa90 :
Happy new years friend, you’re in my thoughts <3
from lust- :
Sorry about your Poppa. Hope you make it in time to say your goodbyes and that you and your family are able to support each other through the grief.
from aryssa90 :
Im so sorry Jess, sending lots of love and positive thoughts your way
from lust- :
Not even lying about it, got really excited about the laundry basket on wheels! Canadian Tire is amazing! They have EVERYTHING! Merry Christmas, Jess! Hope you have a wonderful time. Sending love.xo
from lust- :
Happy Birthday to 'sparkle-pink'! Great job continuing to update every day for 16 years. What an accomplishment!
from lust- :
Thanks, Jess! That was helpful. I'll try to stick with therapy for the next five sessions at least. I agree, you are pretty rad! I'm glad you have faith in me. It's so hard to see things in myself that so many others see clearly.xo
from aryssa90 :
I’m sorry you’ve been having such a rough time. You do deserve to get out and do something fun! I hope you’re feeling better and that you have fun at the movies :)
from lust- :
Hope you managed to get out with your Aunt Judy today and are feeling better. Sending love.xo
from lust- :
OMG! I'm not a fan of The Princess Bride, either! I watched it for the first time when I was in my early 20s and I thought it was dumb. I also remember not liking the princess very much. Hah. We're so controversial!
from aryssa90 :
Thanks, they’re pretty shitty. But I’m hopping back on the keto train with you in roughly two weeks. It’ll be nice to have an accountabilabuddy :)
from aryssa90 :
Keto flu is a pain! Make sure you're getting your salt in! I'd love your recipe, it sounds delicious!! Do you like peanut butter?
from aryssa90 :
Haha oh good, I need to start editing my posts a bit more lol! I think it’s great you’ve been swimming, I’ve been so terrible at working out at all!
from aryssa90 :
I just noticed my phone autocorrect cpap to clap! So sorry! I just restarted Keto about a week ago! I totally messed up last night and did some emotional eating but I’m back at it again today! I think your dinner sounded fab. Your nose mask sounds so nice. Bill sleeps with his mouth open so he can’t have one. If you do have to switch masks, make sure there’s some sort of padding where the mask hits the bridge of your nose. Amazon also has cpap cleanin wipes hat are handy to keep the mask clean. Good luck Keto-ing! Maybe we can trade recipes or support sometime!
from lust- :
Gas over there is so pricy! I filled up at 117.9 over here the other night. I guess your pricy gas is about as ridiculous as our pricy hydro costs. It evens out. And, yooo, I totally have cheese and pepperettes for dinner, too. Sometimes I go all out and make a mini charcuterie platter with crackers, hummus and olives. Simple, yet effective.
from aryssa90 :
Good luck with he clap tonight! I'm looking forward to seeing how it works! Bill has one and when he started consistently using it, it like, completely changed his demeanor! I hope it works for you :)
from lust- :
I hear ya about the anxiety! Hard to control it. I'm glad your dad is OK. Hope you're doing well, also.
from lust- :
Super scary about your dad. I hope he's alright!
from lust- :
Happy Thanksgiving! I'm sure everything will go well today. Sending love!xo

Re: PC Points. You can check on the website once you register: https://www.pcoptimum.ca/login. I'll be sure to send you the mushroom soup recipe once I'm back in Ontario!
from aryssa90 :
I’m glad you went to the doctor and that you’re okay! It’s better to be safe than sorry!
from lust- :
I've been playing Sims 4. Really enjoying it. Totally using the money cheats to amp up my houses though. Haha. I didn't think I'd be one of those people who would get so focused on a game, but the other day, I made a tea, had a cookie and completely forgot about both things cause I was so involved in the game. At least it gives me something to do!
from lust- :
I'll see your Animal Crossing and raise you The Sims. Currently obsessed!
from lust- :
Hope you feel better soon! Sending love your way. Also, think you'd be able to spare some time when I visit Van in September? I'd love to meet up with you! Thoughts?
from lust- :
Thanks for the note. I'm going to get in touch with someone, but I think the process is going to take time to get rolling.
from aryssa90 :
Im glad it isn't done!
from lust- :
Love me some Donald Glover! Do you/have you watched Atlanta?
from aryssa90 :
Yes althkugh im less worried about them. I just try not to go overboard andmake sire my macros look okay. I tylically eat about 1500 calories a day, sometimes more sometimes less. In the beginning, i would focus more on what im eating and tracking it and the ratios of fat/protein/carbs.
from aryssa90 :
Feel better soon!
from aryssa90 :
Feeling sick woth keto is common for about the first week. Ots called keto flu and you can feel nauseous and tired etc. The best thing to do is to up your salt intake. A lot of people drink pickle juice but im not about that life lol i just salt things moderately
from aryssa90 :
If you make anything tasty with carbquick let me know! I have a box sitting here. I was thinking of making like a mock chicken and dumplings with it? I made the biscuits once and they were good but super crumbly. Some people have made recipe adjustments to fix this thkugh, I just haven’t tried again:) yay Keto!
from aryssa90 :
Okay so for the peanut butter balls; I take about a cup of peanut butter and then about half a cup of sweetener and a quarter cup of almond flour and mix together. I then take pork rinds (regular) and crush them up (but not too fine) and mix with everything. This take the place of the crispy cereal I usually use for some crunch. Add more dry ingredients y til you’re able to form balls. Melt some chocolate-either extremely dark chocolate or buy Lily’s chocolate (sweetened with stevia) and melt that. I mix the melted chocolate with a bit or either butter or coconut oil. Dip the former peanut butter balls in the chocolate, half the ball os what I do. Refrigerate. I just have to be careful with them bc they’re my favorite and I could eat the whole plate. I usually get around 18-20 small balls. I add all the ingredients I use to my Lose It app, subtract the net carbs, then divide by how many balls I created to get to net carbs for each ball. Also, awesome on the protein! Just be careful. Protein should be moderate, your fats should be where you get a majority of your calories from. A good formulae I remember for this when I’m tracking is like 60-70% fat, 20-30% protein and about 10% carbs which should be about 20 grabs NET. I’m seriously obsessed with Keto, my husband says it’s a cult (as a joke) I have so much to say about it if you ever want to talk about it. There’s also a fabulous podcast called Two Keto Dudes on iTunes or Spotify or whatever you use and it is SO helpful.
from aryssa90 :
I’m not super big on the bars but a lot of people like the Quest bars. I’m a big fan of fat bombs. I have a recipe for peanut butter balls that I LOVE.
from aryssa90 :
I'm doing keto! We can keep each other accountable!
from aryssa90 :
Ghost world was such a good movie

Re: entry on March 20. Hahah! Live your best life, girl! No shame!
from aryssa90 :
Sending you a virtual hug! Sometimes we just get sad for no reason, but all feelings are temporary. I hope you feel less sad soon!
from aryssa90 :
Have fun! I loved New Orleans and want to go back. Bill didn’t really like it lol. Hope you have much better food :)
from aryssa90 :
I'm proud of you for working and going shopping today! I know how hard it can be to function when you're depressed. Good job! Also, I love Costco, I need to make a trip there as well.
from aryssa90 :
Happy birthday girl/I’m glad you had a good day/now you’re 33! ....I hope my version of a haiku worked out haha
from aryssa90 :
Merry Christmas!!!
from aryssa90 :
80 minutes is a great walk! I need to get my lazy butt up to that! I hate walking alone but I don’t really like walking with other people. I’d like to take my dog for long walks but he hates going on walks. I just found my headphones though so, I just need to do it. Good job!!
from aryssa90 :
Im too much of a wuss to cut mine short but, I really do want to. We'll see! I'm (off and on) doing the ketogenic diet. I really love it but it's so hard to stck to with everything going on so, I think I'mgoing to slowly transition back into it with just cutting out carbs when I can right now. Damn holidays!
from aryssa90 :
Ive been wanting to cut my hair short too! I bet yours looks great :) I'm glad they were able to fix it! What sortof diet are you following?
from lust- :
Thanks, love! Some info: "Tell your friend to check out -Pat Obrian’s - specifically the duelling piano bar - it’s very busy but a table usually becomes available. -Walking around the Garden District, there are some beautiful homes + the house from American Horror Story (if she’s seen it) - plus the Lafayette cemetery #1 is in the garden district. Don’t go to #2 - that’s in a bad area. -Frenchman Street has some amazing live jazz bands - I’m pretty sure every night there’ll be at least a few bars with live bands! -The Carousel Bar at the Hotel Monteleone. -walk around the French Quarter (obviously). Tell her that New Orleans has a bad reputation for crime. So don’t walk down dark side streets/ alone, etc"

I have a friend that went to Nawlin's last year and a coworker that recently moved here from there so I will ask both of them for recommendations for you!
from lust- :
I am so glad that you are OK. I have to let you know how much I enjoy reading about your life. You seem like someone I would totally be friends with in real life. Take care!xo
from lust- :
Oh! I see it now! Thank you. =)
from lust- :
Wow, congrats! You're doing so well on your journey towards a healthy lifestyle. Keep it up!
from lust- :
Thank you! Good job on keeping up with the exercising! I've been telling myself for months that I need to go swimming, or at least take lessons again so I can perfect my stroke...still haven't done it. You surely are inspiring, though!
from lust- :
You stuck it out for as long as you could and at least you know that retail isn't meant for you! Hope you're able to find something more suitable. Have fun with you dad in town!
from lust- :
Also, pro-tip, when it is slow enough, clean the milk fridges! I find that these are often overlooked and can get pretty icky. And, the inner and outer doors for where the garbage bins are kept. If others see you cleaning when it is slow enough and there is absolutely nothing else to do, you earn major brownie points!
from lust- :
Hang in there! I have faith that it will get better. I hate how there's usually one person at a service industry job that straight up power trips and makes new people feel shitty. You're still learning. That's part of life. I'm glad that your manager seems nice. I foresee you totally rockin' it once you get the hang of things!
from lust- :
I feel ya! I started a new job recently and am so looking forward to the day when I know everything and won't have to rely on others to do certain tasks. We'll both get into our grooves soon enough!
from lust- :
That's great! I'm sure you'll have tons of fun!
from lust- :
Good luck at Starbucks! Looking forward to reading about it. The great thing about being new is that you're still learning, so people will always be forgiving. You'll be awesome!
from lust- :
Thanks for your condolences. My boyfriend has bipolar disorder and we have had chats about the stigma surrounding it, even in the medical industry. It's a shame really. There's still a long way to go. I think it's amazing that you cook so often and seem to be so independent. I know that's something M (the boyfriend) struggles with in his day-to-day life. Congrats on the new gig! I look forward to reading about it. I was a Cafe Manager in Toronto. Really miss making bevvies for folks. Twas definitely a fun job.
from lust- :
Nice! Vancouver is amazing. The rain didn't bother me much while I was there. It's so beautiful that the weather isn't much of a bother. I need to get back into doing yoga, as well. You should check out Yoga with Adriene on YouTube. Her videos are so good!
from lust- :
I see you're also Canadian! I read 'Canadian Tire' and 'Superstore' and got excited. Hah. I currently reside in Windsor, Ontario, grew up around the Greater Toronto Area, though. Lived downtown Toronto for two years, and out in Vancouver, BC for 15 months. Where abouts are you? Nice to see that you update frequently. Looking forward to reading more of your life.

I'm at a stall. I finished my first week of dieting and I'm stuck at 6.6 pounds lost. I know it's normal and that's a good amount to lose in a week but it's annoying when I'm doing well and still not losing!
from aryssa90 :
thank you! I haven't done it the last 2 ish days but I have done the elliptical. I'm trying, it's hard but I have to get control of my life somehow. How have yo been?

Hey there, I was wondering if I could get the secret decoder ring password so I could start following your single reed exploits? I mean, if it's not past the deadline to do so. Thanks!
from dirtyboots :
I watched storage wars Canada! I think my mum's into it too.
from dirtyboots :
ok, this 'storage wars' you mention looks like exactly my thing. i'll never get anything done until i watch every single episode.
from jaysthoughts :
Yet another locked diary... damn.
from dirtyboots :
I know what you mean about certain students still going... it's a drag sometimes. "Not this kid again. The next 45 mins are going to feel like 45 years."
from dirtyboots :
i love being those people on the plane!
from dirtyboots :
hello from China! I'm still reading you!
from julymalaise :
Thanks, I'm glad to be back again. Being back feels so good! Yeah, sick of these "friends" trying to lure into those scams. I just stopped talking to them because I do not have time for that shit in my life. Thanks, it's so hard looking for a damn job. It is a pain in the ass! You were lucky, ,lol. Yeah, I applied to places that suited my interests. One of them WAS a bookstore, lol. Hope they do get in touch with me!
from dirtyboots :
yeah, i have a student who literally groans after she plays ANYTHING! i'm like, "that was great, stop thinking that was the worst thing ever!" it's so hard when you're a student to get perspective.
from aryssa90 :
awesome! thanks so much! I fell off my diet and gained back most of what i lost, ughhhh, but im back on it now and losing again :) we got this!
from aryssa90 :
We can lose this weight! Let's do it! I'm at 21 pounds now. I have my official weigh in tomorrow!
from dirtyboots :
Seven students in one day!?!?!? That's intense. After 5 I am DEAD.
from julymalaise :
I'm glad you slept better. Yeah, lack of sleep is never fun at all. I get so grouchy and depressed when I don't get any sleep. It's horrible. And thanks, the speech wasn't that bad. Yeah, getting up there and taking a chance is what really matters. I'm glad I don't want to worry about preparing another one for a while, lol. Yeah, I miss my kitty a lot. I can't believe I lost him this year. I miss him so. He meant a lot to the family. And I'm sorry to hear about your pet. :,( *hugs* The first few days are the worst because you can't believe they are gone. What happened if you don't mind me asking? Poor thing. Losing a pet is so horrible.
from julymalaise :
Ugh, I feel you, I didn't get any good sleep last night either. I hate being half-asleep the whole night instead of fully sleeping. It sucks. I didn't get a good sleep because I didn't eat dinner and I can't sleep with an empty stomach. I was so pissed when I found out the cafeteria on my school was closed and I forgot I didn't eat after I was done class. Sucks, lol. And I don't blame on not talking to people. People are way too dumb and stupid. This year I cut off a long of people and I feel good about it. I'm sorry that you are feeling depressed, I hope you cane overcome it. There are times when we get like that, but knowing we are loved will pull us through. I hope you have a lovely day, dear!
from julymalaise :
I sent you a password, dear!
from julymalaise :
Awww, where you really ? I missed you! I'm glad to be back! :)
from dirtyboots :
I wanna hear 'I want it that way' for wind quintet! sounds ace!
from dirtyboots :
It blows my mind you can be in two countries in one day.
from aryssa90 :
Isn't Torrid the best?!
from ogawa :
just sent it to you, send another note if you did not receive the e-mail. deleted the note with your e-mail address in it. thanks. take care <3
from julymalaise :
Haha, it is okay. I hope they do find the people who stole your dad's truck. My dad's GPS got stolen from our car one time. We never found it, but we had suspects. Hopefully, they will catch those guys. Hope you are doing good, thanks for the note.
from sntheticlove :
Also, sorry for locking it; I didn't think anyone would still be reading! Thanks though!
from kll :
So how is it that I come to be able to read about a clarinet player whom has questionable taste in music, but reasonable quotations from Film?
from julymalaise :
I hope they do find those thieves who stole your father's truck! They need to be punished for being so stupid!!
from aryssa90 :
Hey! I just saw the note you left, stupid dland didn't notify me I got one, I'm sorry! Yeah, I was definitely going through a little depressive episode for awhile and it would probably have been good for me to talk to a professional but, unfortunately I don't have the money to see someone and my insurance isn't covered in this state. Luckily, I seem to have bounced out of it, I do tend to have little depressive episodes and in all reality I have struggled with depression most of my life. Writing in here is definitely an outlet for some of the darker thoughts I have and it really helps to know that I am not alone! So thank you very much for the note and I hope you know I appreciate it! If you want to email me the password etc to your diary again that would be great, just leave me a note and let me know if you want my email :) Sorry, I feel like I've asked you for it like 50 times but I keep accidentally deleting all my saved passwords! Hope you are doing well and I look forward to catching up on what has been going on in your life!
from aryssa90 :
Hey! I was wondering if I could get the password and stuff again. I cleared my saved passwords and stuff and I can't read your diary anymore! Hope you are doing well!
from julymalaise :
Email was sent! Do tell me when you get it and do you want me to delete the nite with your email on it?
from julymalaise :
Of course you may have a username and password. Here, I will send you an email. My email is my username just to tell you.
from aryssa90 :
hey! can you send me the password again? I got a new computer and I'm not able to access the stored dland passwords. If you leave a note I'll delete it or if you want my email just lemme know. Thanks!
from aryssa90 :
I've been going through a historical romance phase lately and I really like almost anything by Lorraine Heath and Loretta Chase. For Heath, I've only read the historical romance stuff, not the cowboy stuff so I don't know how that is but I recommend: she tempts the duke, as an earl desires, a duke of her own and passions of a wicked earl. For Loretta Chase I recommend: Lord of Scoundrels, Silk is For Seduction and Not Quite a Lady. If you have any recs i'd be happy to hear them as well!
from comebacktome :
Can I get a password pretty please?
from aryssa90 :
Thank you! And I'm like, the queen of sorry excuses don't worry! But, I'm doing okay so far and now I *have* to lose weight because I want to look pretty when I get married (!). I was wondering how you find a music teacher? I live in a small town and the only lessons I can find are guitar and piano but I used to play the cello and would like to start again but I can't find anything online and I don't know where else to look. I figured you may have some hints on how to find a music teacher since, you know, you are one :)
from aryssa90 :
An ice cream maker is a great gift :) It's very unique and original. Even if it's something they don't use all the time, it'd be fun to be like "Hey! We have an ice cream maker!". Can those make sorbet as well? Also, I have completely fallen off the wagon for my diet. I gained the weight I lost back and I feel horrible. How are you doing on yours? I'm planning on re-starting tomorrow though. Hope you're doing well!
from fairybones :
hey, just letting you know i've deleted your note with your password. thanks for it too by the way. and i've added you back!
from julymalaise :
Yo, there is always that one crazy person whenever you take a train. Like I swear, this lady was crazy as hell!! It was ridiculous that she was starting shit with you for no reason and was talking nonsense and what the hell, you do not even know her? What a lunatic! Thank goodness that pink-haired girl put her in her place. I don't blame her, I would've done the same if this crazy madman of a woman was trying to take my picture, like what hell? Don't know you, tryna take my picture, lieke shit! Like the hell away!! Well, I hope you are okay from this insane experience and hopefully you recovered from the trauma of this clearly mad woman. Hope the rest of your day is pleasant though!
from fairybones :
thank you so much for your note! (ps, i noticed you've added me, and i was wanting to take a look at your diary too but you're all locked up. i was wondering if you'd mind sharing a password with me? my email's [email protected]. thanks!) <3
from aryssa90 :
Thanks! Hey can I get your login info again? My comp broke so I'm using a diff one and I don't have the info saved! [email protected] delete this note after bc of the email address!
from aryssa90 :
I'm sorry your roommates are being like that, that sucks! I remember feeling like that a lot when I lived in a dorm. I have hit the reset button on my diet because I failed epically. So, back to square 1. I just eat when I get really stressed out you know? And it's been really stressful around here and I know that's just an excuse but it still sucks. So, I am restarting, I'm going to try to stop beating myself up about it and just move on. I am glad you are doing so well! It's a great inspiration :)
from julymalaise :
Ooooh, thanks for telling me that. For some odd reason, I always assume that all sushi rolls had uncooked fish on it, but I will definetely check out California Rolls and the Chicken Terayaki Rolls sound good. I might have a try at that. And I always assume it was all fish for some reason, so that is why I tried to avoid it because I'm not a big fish eater to be quite honest. And that's good it's not expensive. Hmm.. you inspired me to have some sushi too. I know someone who knows how to cook sushi. Maybe I could try his ;D

You know, something I never had sushi! How is it like?
from aryssa90 :
Hey! Could I get an invite to that site? Thanks!
from aryssa90 :
Hey! Questions are fine don't be sorry! So, the calorie counting is on hold for the next three days. I'm still watching what I eat but before the plateau thing, you're kind of supposed to "load up" on calories. There is a specific diet, when I was on the Lindora program that's what we did. It's very limited and I'm not exactly sure what it is, I have to find my pamphlet about it. Basically, i think it's just 3 small meals of fish and spinach but it can be modified a little bit. I do because I hate most fish and spinach so, I eat chicken breasts and asparagus. It's very plain and very boring and you're supposed to do it for 3 days. Also, they have an alternate one of eating all proteins for 3 days, but no red meat. That's no really the plateau one but I find that sometimes it is effective. Generally, that's what they had people do to jumpstart their weight loss and they had them do 1 protein day a week. I have been exercising. I've walked for at least 30 minutes and then done at least 30 minutes of the Wii fit. I suppose it isn't the most strenuous exercise out there but it keeps me moving and burning a decent amount of calories. Next week, I'm hoping to make it a little more vigorous. Hope your week is going well!
from aryssa90 :
congrats on the loss! That is great! Keep going :)
from aryssa90 :
After a horrible weekend (I knew those would be hard) I am back on track. I have designed an exercise regiment that includes my going to the gym 4 days a week and playing Wii fit/Biggest Loser/DDR for at least 45 minutes 6 days a week. I am glad you are doing well and I wish i had more bad days where I eat less than I should! I hope you get to go to your Spring Break!
from aryssa90 :
I did horrible today. I started off well and had a Lean Cuisine but then Bill and I went grocery shopping. He has diabetes and hadn't eaten all day (lame) so by the time we were done he was starving and asked if we could drive through somewhere and instead of getting a salad or something I was bad and ordered a meal. I even had ice cream. So, I was bad. I'm going to go to the gym for an hour to try to work some of that off and tomorrow I must stay on the wagon... Keep going strong! We can do this :)
from aryssa90 :
Yesterday was horrible for me. I went to lunch with some friends to a Mongolian grill and it was basically impossible for me to count calories but, I guestimated. I tried not to eat the noodles but, I had some, not too many. I did okay at lunch. But when I got home I got super busy with school and some other errands and I was starving after a few hours and re-heated some of Bill's leftovers (Red Beans and Rice). I went over my calories, which sucks but, I'm going to try not to let that discourage me. Whenever I mess up I always get discouraged and quit then restart a few days later, I don't want to do that this time. I also didn't exercise at all which was bad. I'm sorry you are still having a difficult time. I hope you start feeling better, hopefully the exercise will help with that. I wish i weren't so picky about desserts, I need to find a low cal recipe I can make for something sweet to eat because the last few days I've wasted calories on dark chocolate. I may look for a variation of the cookie recipe you made, without the banana. Hope you do well today!
from aryssa90 :
It is definitely harder when someone in the house is eating yummy food :( I haven't ever really watched The Biggest Loser but from what i've seen I kind of like Bob Harper better, so he's my trainer. It really kicks my behind. I'm not the best at yoga but I just do my best, I've always been pretty flexible and when I'm done my back always feels a lot better (I've had some back issues). I like calorie count to track my calories because i always seem to misplace my journals :( Also, there's some kind of public part of it and I feel like if I make my calories public I'll feel accountable to someone and try to stay on track (I can be a little competitive and I embarrass easily). I'm glad I stayed on track today, it makes me feel a lot better.i don't have much of a social life either but i do love to go out to eat. On the weekends my boyfriend and I generally eat out once or twice. it's actually easier for me than cooking something I can't have because I always end up eating it lol. When we go out i can at least try to order something healthy. Ugh...week 1 was hard, hopefully week 2 will be better!
from aryssa90 :
I would like to lose more than 70 pounds but I'm going to re-evaluate how I feel at 70 and then see what else I need. I don't necessarily have a strict exercise plan, it's something I'm trying to work on. I have The Biggest Loser Wii game and I've been doing that for 30 minutes a day. I did that for 3 days straight and the next 3 days (up until today) I haven't done anything because my legs and shoulders have been so sore. I'm starting back up with it today and I hope I can stick with it more. I also play DDR, Just Dance and do yoga a few times a week. But, I'd like to try to get a solid plan for the week on what I should be doing daily. I hope if I vary it enough but do something for about 45 mins to an hour each day, then I won't get bored. I'm trying to stay around 1200 calories a day, although on the weekends it's much harder because my boyfriend (while supportive) eats the yummy things I really want so...Fri, Sat and Sun are my tough days. I'm using caloriecount.about.com what about you? It's nice to chat to someone who has similar goals! It makes me feel less alone :)
from aryssa90 :
I'm also working pretty hard to lose weight. however, I'm in my first week still and I can generally do alright the first week. le sigh...I really like your craft idea, I think I am going to use that :) Maybe we can keep each other motivated, I would like to lose about 70 or more pounds as well!
from julymalaise :
Hey, cool shoes!! I love them!
from aryssa90 :
Happy Birthday!!! Congrats on almost changing the tire by yourself, you could have done it without the trucker for sure :)
from julymalaise :
Vegetarian chili sounds very lovely!!
from aryssa90 :
I'm sorry about Kodiak. I've lost 2 pets in my life and they were all devastating. I read your comment about not wanting a cat because you don't want to go through this sort of pain again. I definitely understand this feeling but pets can heal you as well. I still get teary eyed about my cat and dog and there will always be that hurt there, but my new dog has definitely helped me...and driven me a bit crazy! I'm here if you'd like to talk more.
from julymalaise :
Yuuuuuuuum, bbq!! Enjoy the hearty meal!
from julymalaise :
Aww.. why thank you, I'm so exciteed!!!
from aryssa90 :
hello! I'm not sure if I lost the password etc. or if you changed them. Could I please have it? Thanks! You can e-mail it to [email protected]
from julymalaise :
Thanks sparkle-pink!!!!
from julymalaise :
I have a Sore Throat as well, I might be getting sick, so I can relate. Strangely, I have no cold and my nose is not stuffy. Well, I hope you get better and the Toy Story movies are excellent. Very indeed.
from julymalaise :
Stand By Me is so brilliant! It's one of those movies that you can watch a million times and never get bored with it, kinda like Forrest Gump. Glad you enjoyed it. It was such a cute movie as well!
from julymalaise :
Love in the Time of Cholera is such a great book and the movie isn't bad either. I thought it was really beautiful and it sticked to the plotline. I was happy about that!
from julymalaise :
Mystic Waters is a good movie!! And yeah, that girl has been giving me a headache all of this week. Luckily, I didn't see her. But I will give her a chance because she's a nice person, but she has to learn to be patient not cut off what you are saying when you are trying to explain something every five seconds. And I do have a lot of Sophmore friends, one of my best friends is actually a sophmore and I even have a friend who is a Freshman as well, I was only added that bit to add some humour to my already-heated entry...
from aryssa90 :
omg I LOVEEEE Kill Bill! Quentin Tarantino is AWESOME. You have really great taste in movies :)
from aryssa90 :
Thanks for the note, I hope I'm a good puppy mommy when I get one :) Ah I'm so sad you didn't like Empire Records, I love it! I got annoyed by Liv Tyler's character but, I don't really like her so I could be biased. Have you seen The Talented Mr. Ripley? That's a good one. We (usually) seem to have the same taste in movies so, there's a rec for you :)
from julymalaise :
Why, thank you!!
from aryssa90 :
I liked Joshua a lot more up until the last 2 episodes. I know that he's gay (pbvs) and I have no issue with that at all but I feel like his flamboyance in his style is excessive. He's mentioned that he designs for gay men but he needs to know that not ALL gay people are as flamboyant as he is and he really needs to reign it in. Also, he was really kind of rude to the judges and the other contestants in last week's episode. I like Anya as well but I think now Viktor and Laura are my favorites. And thank you-I had forgotten I changed my template haha. And I agree with Judy-The Curious Case of Benjamin Button is amazing!
from julymalaise :
I love the Curious Case of Benjamin Button, it is based on the short story by F. Scott Fitzgerald, who is also my favorite author. I love that movie. Brad Pitt was looking extremely cute in that movie and i thought the acting was pheonomenal in that movie.
from aryssa90 :
I don't think a real diamond is important either, I'm more of the opinion that as long as he loves me (and it's pretty haha) then that's fine. I hate to say it but I'm just concerned with what my friends and family will think, they can be very snotty, especially my mom. It's a horrible thing to worry about since it isn't their decision but it's still something I can't completely block out. That's such a cute story about your roommates, I think that's wonderful :) I'm hoping to discuss marriage some more in the next month or two and then I'm hoping he'll propose around Christmas-we've been together for 3 years and I'd like about a year engagement so I'm like obsessed with wedding stuff!
from aryssa90 :
I'm glad you got what you wanted with your second account! Ravenclaw is very cool :) Dogwood trees are actually very pretty imo. So who are you rooting for for Project Runway? This season is so difficult for me to choose! Burt is a serious jerk but on the last challenge he was actually pretty nice. I'm so glad Oliver is out because he was such a snob! I like Joshua but he's kind of bitchy...I dunno, I think I'm pulling for Laura the most.
from julymalaise :
You must read that book! It's so wonderful!! And I so want to read "100 Years" as well!!
from aryssa90 :
i got my pottermore email as well yayyy! Could we be pottermore friends? My name is stonepurple192 :) I was sorted into gryffindor as well! My wand is black walnut with univorn core, eleven inches, hard. I was sooo excited to get my e-mail! Congrats on yours! Did you like your wand selection?
from julymalaise :
I remembered Chicken Run!!! I have the video tape!! I watched in like the second grade. Ah.. good times!
from julymalaise :
Hey, that a nice thing you did for that homeless man, you must've made his life more brighter by doing that random act of kindness. I feel that people judge the homeless and often catogorized them as "nasty" and "digusting." And that is not right, because every homeless person has a story of why they are like that and people just don't seem to understand that because they are quick to say that it is their fault for being like that and they are nothing but scum, which is not true. Your random act of kindness really touched me because not that many people take the time to do something like that and I think we should help out more with the homeless instead of critizing them. Even though we are different in many ways, we have to remember we are alike....
from aryssa90 :
Just catching up on some of your entries. I've been sick so haven't been reading much, just writing and complaining ha. I haven't gotten my pottermore e-mail either, it's totally ridiculous. I'm so sad :( I laughed (which is not an easy feat for me right now) when you were writing about Atonement and how "the adult Briony is totally fug". So funny! And I thought the exact same thing. I never read the book and I thought the movie was just really depressing so, I didn't particularly care for it. I'm a huge movie fan so I'm really enjoying your reviews. I've been meaning to see Army of Darkness so it's definitely going on the list now. I liked The Blindside as well, but after I saw the movie I read the book and the woman in it came off as really arrogant and kind of like...subtly racist. But you can't call her a racist because she did this wonderful thing, you know? Maybe racist is a strong word, she just has this perceived notion of how black people act and white people act and it's like she was trying to "white-ify" the kid. The movie was definitely way better than the book and I wish I had never read it. I'm sorry you're still feeling down, I hope you're feeling better today :)
from julymalaise :
Oh, well that explains everything. Sounds fun and I hope they send you an email and tell us what house you are in!
from julymalaise :
Wait, so how do you get sorted out? You have to sign up to the website or something? Hahah, that is crazy!! Lol. Reply back!
from aryssa90 :
omg yours are sooo much better than mine! i wish i had thought to get 2 names-I also don't want to get into Hufflepuff haha. I'd like Ravenclaw I think, of course being a lover of HP I wouldn't say no to Gryffindor! I hope I get the entry e-mail soon, I'm soo excited. Also, I recommend the other Crossroads, it's really interesting. Do you watch Project Runway?
from aryssa90 :
oh you got into pottermore?! me too! what's your pottermore name? mine is stonepurple192. And what Crossroads did you watch? There's the Britney Spears one and the Ralph Maccio one.
from aryssa90 :
well i think i got approved for the loan..i don't know that i feel any better though haha. being in debt is way scary! and that's just for one year. other than that i have nothing else going on in my life. blah.
from aryssa90 :
thanks! I'm excited but nervous. I need to get some loans to be able to go and I won't be able to get them myself because I don't have a job or any credit. ughh I wish they made getting a good education a lot easier.
from aryssa90 :
hey, i know i asked you a bit ago but could i get your username and password? ive read your diary for awhile and I miss it...you can note it or email me at [email protected] you're well.
from julymalaise :
IMAO, I'm have recurring dreams as well !
from aryssa90 :
hey...could i get your password?
from aryssa90 :
thanks, it was honestly one of the most beautiful moments of my life. Can i have your password and log in? I thought I had them before but maybe I didn't save them in my chain.
from kabukicharms :
I used to play clarinet years ago, I started as a trombonist and just moved around between brass and woodwind as needed. Reading your journal makes me miss playing though. However when I quit I donated my clarinet to the Hollands Opus Foundation, so it hopefully still plays on even if I'm not the one playing it.
from kabukicharms :
I would most defiantly love to be able to read! May I have a pass?
from aryssa90 :
little house def rocks! what seasons did you get?! and yes, having internet all the time will def change your life for the better!
from aryssa90 :
hey, catching up on your entries, life has been super hectic and all. it seems like your life has been pretty busy too! so what is your workout routine if i may ask? and like, what do you eat n stuff. I was thinking about trying the HCG diet, but from the holidays and being on break it has been pretty difficult!
from julymalaise :
AWww.. thanks for the compliment. And I'll definetely to the my friends' list and thanks for the password/username! lol!
from julymalaise :
I seen that you added me to your lists. Lol. I'm glad you like my journal. Would it be a bother if I ask for a password to read yours?
from sntheticlove :
Hey, thanks for adding me! I'd really like to read some of your stuff sometime :)
from aryssa90 :
I am sorry about Gonzo :( it's always hard losing an pet. Hopefully your rommates will get a new kitten. Thank you for your note :) And I believe somewhere, I've seen Burberry doggie bags, like that has the mesh covering and you carrie your dog around in it...it could have been a knockoff but..yes.
from aryssa90 :
I hope you aren't mad I copied you :) They just look fun.
from aryssa90 :
hey now, taking off your pants if the first thing to do in a crisis, even putting out fires. espec if the fire happens to be in your pants. ;)
from aryssa90 :
hey, you always seem to have cool craftsy things to do! I wish I was like that :] So, I'm not really big on yoga or...exercise in general to be honest. But, I find that if I have a hard time focusing or going to sleep or waking up or if I'm stiff...anything really, I do like 15 or 20 minutes of a yoga video and I feel a lot better. I'm having a difficult time falling to sleep and I just did 20 minutes and I already feel more relaxed. Maybe doing something like that would help you be less stressed. I always feel more accomplished when i do that too lol :]
from aryssa90 :
aryssa90 and locked 20 :) thanks for reading, may i have yours?
from pettyquarrel :
SWEET I GOT IT YOU ARE AWESOME THAT WAS SO CLEVER! THANKS!
from sparkle-pink :
Plan- I made a special username (sparkle) and password (pink). I put the real username and password on today's entry. Once you check it out, leave another note and I'll deactivate the info I have written here. Awesome!
from pettyquarrel :
I'm paranoid about communication. I bet I would love your journal, too. (I almost said "I love reading your journal, too!" -- instinctive goodwill.) Sometimes I doodle on the clarinet for fun except not recently because I gave my last clarinet to a drug dealer's son. He needed it for school. I guess I have to buy another one. Maybe I shouldn't have given it away. Clarinets are expensive. Oh well. You have an awesome plan?
from sparkle-pink :
Well pettyquarrel I've devised a way to get around that, but you're not accepting any notes so I have no idea if my message will reach you. Just taking a shot in the dark, maybe you will see this, idk. In the meantime lol, you're not a loser and I love reading your journal.
from pettyquarrel :
I want the password but I am paranoid to give out my email address. I am such a loser ... I don't know what to do ...
from journey2one :
Hey! I'd like to read your journal. My e-mail is [email protected]. Thanks!
from enurta :
I'm sorry but I've lost your user/pass. and I've been too lazy to leave a note and ask for it...can you please send it to me again? [email protected] *hugs*
from enurta :
having 5 friends is great! I have...none. Nobody I can REALLY trust, who I know will be there for me, I've been betrayed so many times. N is my best friend, I love my family, when you have that, everything else just doesn't seem important if you know what I mean. *hugs*
from avrilkiksass :
sure thang you can read it. I play clarinet, too. :) I'll email you the password.
from errantnights :
2100 entries.
from pondlife :
My addy stays between us, right?
from pondlife :
Are you English? You used English spelling in a word that most Americans spell differently. No, if there's an address still on this I'm fairly certain it doesn't work. Keiko Matsui works with various artists from what I've gathered, I just discovered her last week really.
from pondlife :
Started lessons when I was nine. Not very talented, just like playing. Most recently I've enjoyed listening to Keiko Matsui. You're clarinet, right?
from pondlife :
English, twentysomething, living between East Sussex and the states, ex-model, play piano, small business owner (kaffehaus&desserts)in Charleston S.C., brilliant, complicated...what else would you like to know? Just ask.

Hi I would like to be yur friend!!! I am new to diaryland!!!!!!!!
from flutegeek :
Jessica, what makes you think you don't have a chance?! You are a smart, musical and pretty girl. You do SO have a chance. Just be confident. And don't start out by informing him of your interest by saying "this is SO dumb but I like you," that's generally a bad plan. Also, he probably isn't perfect- he probably is just as stupid as every other boy on the planet. Do not despair. -Erin
from flutegeek :
Jessica I have uber huge news! (wrong use of uber, I know) I got into CG!!!! ieeeeeeeee!!!! SOOO happy! :D:D
from flutegeek :
boys ARE das stupid!!! and girls... flirting with boys that they know you like are equally so! it must be SOMETHING about the name erika! :P:P
from misswillow :
Hey thank you for continuing to read! The house we're staying in at the moment has a piano which was such a cool surprise. I don't have any music with me so I downloaded some Beethoven (the Waldstein) and Chopin and .. Mussorgsky I think and it is so great to be able to play at the end of the day when I come in all gloomy. Anyway, I know how you feel moving and feeling weird, not out of your element exactly, but somewhere you need to be but don't quite want to be, right now. It is hard to really enjoy everything like you should when you have that feeling in the back of your mind that says 'this isn't quite me..'. But I am sure it will all work out perfectly. I know it!!
from flutegeek :
MMMM the potato macoronni (I can't spell at all) sounds good- I would take more than one, for sure. Don't worry too much about your room-mate, remeber how randomly stupid/annoying we all were in highschool :P. Happy turkey day! ~Erin
from flutegeek :
This will cheer you up: www.downwithjungsuk.blogspot.com It has links to all the media stuff that's been exposing his lies. Oh it's hilarious times in edmonton :) Miss you tons and tons and tons! Erin
from misswillow :
Hey - I hope settling in isn't too hard. It's always difficult but keep gritting your teeth and smiling. Mr and I have to move soon, move country, and we don't want to leave. I'm really heartbroken, but it's got to be done.. You'll make friends and have good times to the max. It will get easier without you even noticing it happen!
from flutegeek :
Jessica- I hope your brother's friend's family is ok too! Car accidents are horrible. I am SURE you're brother's friend's brother is in a better place now.
from flutegeek :
About the spyware, download software called "adaware" it's free, and it eliminates the problem. Later alligator, Erin PS) Do you want a music folk farewell?
from flutegeek :
I am sure everything will work out for your trip and you'll have fun camping times :D!!. Have fun! Erin
from misswillow :
WOOOOOOOOOOOOO well done!!! That is amazing to the max!! I'm so happy for you!
from misswillow :
Thank you!! Thank you for your note and you mentioned me in your diary today too - that is so nice. *big smile*
from flutegeek :
Hi there, I'm sorry about your UBC, I didn't know that it had happened. Anyways, you ARE a good musician and you SHOULD be in music. Why? because it's the thing you love the most in the world. I know for a fact that there's nothing else you want to do more. ANd hey, I didn't get into UBC either when I tried. Also, you'll get waaay more opportunities to play in groups like orchestra and wind ensemble at the u of a cause we do have practically no grad students :P. You are my friend to the max and although I am sorry you didn't get in, I'm glad you are staying here. Hope you feel better soon!!! Erin
from flutegeek :
Wow... most of the messages are from me... I feel like a stalker... though personally I am much better at "boy espionage" than stalking... lol... Anyways... I am just writing to say I WAS UBER UBER disappointed by the friends finale. I totally agree with u. Ugggh Catch you on the fLiPsIdE! (or something :P) Erin
from flutegeek :
Woot for the not practicing!!! 8 days and counting!!! (Oh the horrifying crushing guilt and the fact that we have windensemble on wednesday).
from flutegeek :
Jessica, don't be blue, I'm going to fail music history too. (No actually neither of us are going to fail because we both know this plainchant -- baroque stuff to the max). Also you are a super good clarinetist... I am positive about that. McGill doesn't deserve you in all your super hotness. :) Just think.... one more day till no more plainchant again ever.....
from flutegeek :
you WILL make it as a pro clarinettist! Stupid people in Quebec at MCGill know NOTHING!! Or should I say... they know to the min :P:P?? -Erin
from sparkle-pink :
thanks erin, you are my friend to the max.
from flutegeek :
Hi Jess, I am just writing in reponse to your April 10 entry. Just chill, don't let a couple of mean girls upset you because ultimately they are not even worth the time it takes to think about them. Anyways best of luck studying it up for exams! ~Your fluting pal~ Erin
from misswillow :
Music- how about 'smile, though your heart is breaking'..?! That cheesy song (apologies to anyone) does nothing to cheer you up whatsoever so perhaps it's not a good suggestion. A good night's sleep? Not particularly helpful either if you can't sleep from worrying about stuff. I guess in the end you just have to think, okay, I had a really shitty day. And hope that the next day is better (which it is, sometimes, although sometimes it's worse, but let's not go there!) Here's a smile for ya :-)
from flutegeek :
HI Jessica! Good journaling, I am glad you had a good weekend and don't worry I haven't done all the reading for music history either :) eRiN

this is going to sound insane, but i'm about to lose someone i really care about and if you could do me a HUGE favor and leave chris-uk a note to tell him to forgive me, it would mean the world. i'm hoping if enough persuasive notes are left it might impact him to listen to me. <3 - katie
from misswillow :
Hey, that guy who bullied you and wanted to make you cry - he probably likes you or something. Sometimes a certain type of guy can't think of any way to get your attention except to upset you. Anyway. That might not be the case, but it might be. Whether you like the idea or not?!! Well, don't let him make you sad.
from misswillow :
Hi Jessica! Thanks for your note, it's very sweet of you - I like reading your diary too! have a good weekend! misswillow
