Hi Hon! Isn't it amazing that songs sometimes say what we think better than we can say ourselves? Much love, ~LA
from annanotbob2 :
Happy birthday to the boy and congratulations to you for being such a great mum and sticking with it through the hard times (speaking as a mother whose son was also difficult for what seemed like decades). Yay for us - we made it! xxx
from thecrankyone :
I'm not much for the glurgy life is a gift posts, either. I'm just trying to see something good, I'm so sick of being down all the time. I use my blog to vent as well as it's my free place. I have a friend who is always posting how great god is and how blessed she is, but I've read her blog and it's not as great as she wants people to think. I get sick of it, I don't say anything though.
from la-the-sage :
I, for one, am sick of the punishing pressure to buck up and count my blessings. There's just so far, "Meh, it could be worse" can go. Sometimes Life is HARD. Really, really hard. And I think we should be allowed to be down or angry or even a little hopeless for a while if that's where we're at. If turning the 'It could be worse' coin works for you then I'm glad, but in this place (blogs) we should be allowed to be open and honest and feel permitted to be off the hook for setting a good example. Much love, ~LA
from annanotbob2 :
Knowing you guys on here has really made me feel grateful for our NHS and determined to fight for its survival - our fucking govt looked at your system, where people can be financially ruined for life by random ill health and thought "It's wrong that no one makes a profit out of sick people in the UK - we must make that possible." Big hugs, sweet cranky xxx
from thecrankyone :
Warren and I went without insurance for many years also. The state of ND paid for his birth, as well as much of his pediatric care until I got a job with insurance then lost that job so had to use unemployment and assistance again for a month until I found this job. Forget about COBRA, it would have taken almost all of my unemployment benefits. For me it was a cruel joke.
from la-the-sage :
I remember well the horrors of being uninsured and am grateful every day the wonderful union/employer insurance Mick has and covers us. It's why I gave up my wedding and did the rush job at the JP. Wolf's non-generic meds were costing $340 a month! I often did without my own just to get his. To say nothing of going 14 years without a pap smear or a check-up. Our system SUCKS and anyone who complains about the ACA has never had the struggles we have. Sorry about your son's friend and hope his GI benefits can save him. ~LA
from annanotbob2 :
I feel for you, cranky. Such hard stuff life throws at us sometimes. You and Warren. Hugs xxxx

from catsoul :
Hi Holly, it is me again, I was reading some of your past enteries. My email is: [email protected]
from catsoul :
Hi Holly, thanks for the kind words. So are you still blogging? If you are email me how I can read you. [email protected]

I miss reading your posts; are you blogging somewhere else these days? LMK! :-)
from cocoabean :
did you try putting me on your google reader, or signing up for the notify list? that might help..
from catsoul :
Hi, I answered your note, but Holly I sent it to myself. I am so silly!! =^..^=
from hamlette2002 :
I'm sending you happy lucky money wishes. I hope they reach you intact! By the way, my new journal is hamlette2002.wordpress.com

POST CARDS, YES! YES! YES! (thanks) my email is [email protected] I'll send you my snail mail addy, but to where?
from capitolady :
My boy is going to be 16 in November, he has tried 3 times so far to pass the written test. This state in its infinate wisdom has decided 14 was old enough to drive. My boy hasn't realized that he has to study to pass. He has to block out the excess noise to do it. Daughter is going to be 14 the end of August. He is trying hard to pass before her. He has 2 more tries before he can't take it for another 6 months. I recall this was the only test as a teen I got a perfect score on.
from boxx9000 :
It IS a beautiful day in the neighborhood!
from capitolady :
Hi, just buzzed in from cosmic's site to say hello, New here.
from mahvalicious :
Holly - I can hardly believe that's you in the picture. You look fabulous! And Warren is a very handsome young man.
from ivyparker :
I really like your user name.
from calthea :
Thanks for the note. I was wondering if you are going to make it to vc this year. If you are, I am looking for some volunteers. (Let me know if you are interested. I will send you details.)
from her-story :
First of all... YEY for you and all that weight lost. I'm proud of ya (though, what IS an 8/10 like??)... Second, you don't have to spoil HP7. We were watching the news yesterday and a reporter was interviewing JK Rowling... and JKR RUINED the ending by telling us how it ended. I tried to change the channel, but heard the news before I was able to get my stupid satellite remote to cooperate. *Phhhbbbh* Needless to say, my kids are mad at me now. :(
from yaketyyak :

I hope you don't take this as spam, you can just delete this message if you're not interested, but if you are, please visit our welcome page: http://pink-circle.diaryland.com/welcome3.html -- Thanks for your time -- Atara Phoenix

Visiting from LA Sage, I will be back to catch up on what has been going on. Sorry about your troubles...like LA....I have a step granddaughter who has been having some problems lately and trying to figure out what I can do, if anything, to help my DIL and son.
from just2cusmile :
just being able to catch up with your diary-sounds like you have made the right choices for warren and hopefully he will learn from it cause you do love your boy and want the best for him!! hang in there!!
from thecrankyone :
Strange to leave a note on my own blog, but Andrew won't let me update {what the F*bomb is going on}. I'm pissed and desperate. Look for me at http://blog.myspace.com/warrensmom. You may need to get a login as some entries are friends only. If you read this email me, or leave a myspace comment, or better yet a friend request if you so desire.
from madamefromag :
Oh my goodness! You are right. You couldn't have made that up if you tried. I'm hoping you have a lot less excitement in the future. Take care. Hugs to you.
from mahvalicious :
Congrats on the car - I'm sure it will make your life so much easier. Chester is busy prowling around outside these days - he was pretty much a stay-inside kitty over the winter. He's lost a bit of weight being outside too. Take care.

Engine starter has ether in it and it kills brain cells plus ether is an explosive. Huffing would explain alot of his positive and negative behavior shifts. Get him help, go with your gut feelings Holly. Stop him before it could be his last time.

i have one of those twins too. you might think about throwing away the aerosol cans and seeing if they reappear...
from madamefromag :
I'm so sorry to hear of all your stress. I wish I had some sage advice, but I don't. I hope a virtual hug will help. ((((((HUG))))))
from calthea :
I am going to lock the diary for a little while. Send me an e-mail and I will give you the password.
from calthea :
Hey! Are you coming to the "B" movie party? Let me know.
from chaosdaily :
dont worry, im not planning on overdoing anything. i want this leg to heal, and heal fast. it wont happen if i rush things, i just do what the doc says!
from sandydahling :
Thank you for the gas tip! I wish I'd thought of that. Hopefully there won't be a next time!

from calthea :
Tried to call you tonight. I have a message from stacy for you. She is having a New Year's Party on 12/31/2006 starting @ 6:00 pm. Please let either Stacy or I know if you can come and need a ride.

Thanks for the birthday wishes. The party was fun and a complete surprise to me. Talk to you soon.

The preview for Harry Potter was great! They didn't show Luna. However, Alan Rickman (Snape) is creepy/evil as ever. :-)
from catsoul :
Hi, just wanted to let you know I like your writing. You also read a few diaries here that I do. I actually know where Williston, ND is. I was born in Grand Forks, ND. My grandparents were from Minto and Warsaw.
from chaosdaily :
the law here says that anything that has to be cooked before being eaten can be prepared with bare hands, although we do have a separate hand washing station. its only things that are ready to eat that we need gloves for, like subs and deli meats and cheese...
from mahvalicious :
It sounds like you've put down a good base with Warren, and that means a lot. Just keep talking - that's so important - never let the lines of communication close.
from mahvalicious :
You don't know how much it means to me to hear those words from someone "outside the circle" if you know what I mean. It breaks my heart that Lovely Daughter is holding me responsible for Sven leaving. She can't seem to see that he was just looking for an excuse and I was his scapegoat. My prediction for the future is that he's going to make her choose between him or her family. I just hope she's got her head on straight when that time comes as I think he's a very unstable young man.
from madamefromag :
I am sooooo sorry. I thought for sure that I'd sent you the password. I'm going to send it to your gmail today.
from madamefromag :
Happy Birthday to you! Happy Birthday to You! Happy birthday dear Cranky. Happy birthday to you!
from chaosdaily :
and thats hit the nail on the head. dude has congenital issues that were a matter of chance, and we had no control. i do baby him, maybe its me that needs the attitude adjustment. believe me, ive thought of this in the past few days...
from chaosdaily :
the issue isnt making it.. its the attitude i get from him, whether its over a sandwich, or i asked too many questions, or whatever. hes bored and has no friends, only goes to work, and hes taking it out on me. i dont know if i should act childish like he does, which gives him ammunition to bitch more at me, or if i should continue to try to be adult about it and not stoop to his level.
from calthea :
I am having my wisdom teeth pulled in August. I am not looking forward to it and that's what will put me out of commission for a while.
from madamefromag :
Happy Birthday Warren!
from calthea :
*hugs* Hey Holly. I understand what you are going through. He will always be with you in your heart and memories. *hugs*
from just2cusmile :
thanks for the well wishes-it means a lot!! :)
from her-story :
You're having java issues today, huh? (I see scripts...) Um... *I* personally feel old because YESTERDAY I saw a big 4' long hair coming off of my older son's neck. *gag* And, today my middle-formerly-known-as-the-baby is graduating from 6th grade... and my baby-now-known-as-the-ACTUAL-baby is 3 going on 15. *sighs* Let's see... I have my h.s. reunion this year, too. Let's just take me out back and throw rocks and pancake batter at me... because this year is poopier than when I turned 30.

from her-story :
Oh my god... that was a funny response. He did stop crying when I showed him the bubbles I made in his bath. My boys were laughing about it today... and my response was STILL... "Hey, you guys used to squeeze your peepees til they were purple... and I didn't kiss em then and I don't plan on kissing em now." :)
from her-story :
That might've been a transformer blowing. I experienced that last summer when lightning hit one a block away... and it was a gut-wrenching pop, like a gun shot. (Er... was it 6am or 6pm?) :)
from her-story :
Actually, I want him to explain to me his grading system. I haven't gotten ONE grade below an A- since I started in grad school... that is, until I took his class this semester. The first paper, ok, I agree, may not have been my best paper. But, I did go to talk to him about how to improve my writing skills. Then, paper #2 came and he said it was FAR BETTER, but still gave me the same grade. Then, I was bound and determined to do better and the 3rd paper I received an A-. So, there's 30% of my grade. Then, I participated nearly every day (except a couple b/c let's face it, I can only take being ignored and disregarded every OTHER class period)... so that's 40% of my grade (and, p.s. my papers were always on time, photocopied for everyone (as per his directions), and I never missed a class). Then, the final... which was hokey to begin with. The one girl (M-girl) went to someone to help her write it. She got an A in the class but all Bs and B-s on her papers. She never participated nor did she ever speak even when called on. That's a gross misjustice. SHE was his Grad Assistant. That's another gross misjustice. Maybe I'm wrong and am too proud to admit it, but I know I put in more time and effort into that class to not receive an A. I believe whole-heartedly that my 2nd paper was A-worthy. I also believe that, even though he didn't "agree" with my assessment in my final exam, that the writing was FAR better than the other three papers. Apparently, an A for effort does not work for him. I'm thinking that maybe I should've just sucked it up and moved on... but its burning a hole in my stomach. I *can't* move on until I have a satisfactory answer that is spoken TO me, with eyecontact, in a manner that doesn't negate me as a grad student, a woman, or an academic. (*WOW* I'm still a lil aggravated, sorry.)
from her-story :
Holly, THIS is why I like you. You think like me AND have better analogies than I do. I tried to explain that to her, but you can drag a horse to water, but not make her drink. Have a good holiday! -G
from her-story :
That's one thing that I'm terrified of having happen to one of my kids. I think we should tape a GPS thing to our kids so we can find them. NOT under the skin or in a molar, because THAT freaks me out and gives me flashbacks of my childhood (FEAR the DEVIL!!) Anyway... I hope they find her soon. And, there have been instances that kids are found after a long amt of time, virtually unscathed. I hope this is one of those instances.

Hey stranger. Long time no see or talk. I just wanted to let you know that we are having a major Star Trek guest this year at ValleyCon. He goes by the name of William Shatner. You better start saving up. :-)
from xnavygrrl :
Holy crap girl.. you are really dealing with it. My thoughts are with you.. By the way..thanks for reading and continuing to support me..even though I've pretty much been absent from diaryland..I was slacking..

Thanks for the note~my brothers meds are a narcotic-he has had 2 back surgerys so he takes several different meds a day and some are narcotics...
from ava-reborn :
Thank you so much for your recent note! Jason doesn't accept his behaviour is abnormal! He truly doesn't see he has a problem. I'm like you, animals to me aren't dirty, just normal! I'll let them walk over everything, touch me and even lick me without feeling dirty. And I dust so rarely you'd think I was studying the settlement of dust particles for an educational project!!! I just enjoy the more fun things in life. And believe life is too short to put cleaning ahead of the fun things! Or ahead of the people I love! Perhaps that's the point; Jason has never loved before. He doesn't even love his family! Cleaning is all he's ever had! He's always been like it. Even when he was a child!
from just2cusmile :
thanks for the note :) im sorry to hear that your uncle was killed in his own home by a drunk driver-thats terriable. We did have fun at the fair-something different to do!!
from chaosdaily :
yea i sure know how it goes. a couple years ago i would have given dude away to anyone who would take him... but no one wanted him. someday it will be worth it. i didnt believe that either, but eventually they turn around.
from katress :
Thanks for your note. Yes, we're in the clean up phase now, and hopefully I'll get some photos uploaded so that who wants to do so can get an idea of what life was like here. Pretty stressful!!! Seriously, thanks. (((hugs)))
from madamefromag :
Congratulations on the weight loss! Keep it up.
from kitchenwitch :
Awww! Thank you! I hope it will go well, my last pregnancy was crazy enough!!! I think the goddess is telling me this is the last one... I don't think I was made to be a babymaker! James doesn't know it yet, but he is getting snipped after I come out of delivery! LOL
from her-story :
We have 2 consignment shops in town... I have to call them to see if they'd take some things. I have carseats, baby stuff, and that big ole painting to get rid of. My basement is looking more and more like the set of Sanford and Son each day... Thanks for the suggestion. :)
from coffeegrind :
Thank you for the early birthday greetings! Although it's really never too early to celebrate a birthday, is it?!
from xnavygrrl :
I don't know how you deal with this, but stay strong. I'm thinking of you and your little family.
from sandydahling :
Your supportive note arrived at a very good time tonight. I was jmust thinking of the "old days" when I smoked and how long ago they seem now. Thank you for your kind words! And for reading; I didn't know anyone did. :-)
from kitchenwitch :
Ah... But if I hold out till the 20th I'd be overdue!!!! I so do not want to bake this bun any longer than necessary!!! LOL
from just2cusmile :
Thank you for the note about my aunt!! Im glad things are better for you.
from xnavygrrl :
Thank you for the note. And thank you for always being so supportive. You make a girl feel special!

do you have a yahoo id? yahoo has yahoo photos, you can put as many pics there as you want

Thanks for the birthday note. Much appreciated on what ended up being a crappy day!
from her-story :
Thanks Holly...
from la-the-sage :
My new security system hates halo-scan comments, so here I am. When Mike and his brothers were teenagers my MIL actually had to get an extra fridge! The boys ate like locusts and one fridge just wasn't big enough. She'd bake cookies in the dozens of dozens and make soups and stews by the vat. Her 3 beanpoles ate more food in a day than a regular family of 8 would eat in a week. Good luck keeping up with your hungry, hungry caterpillar. ~LA
from my-fruition :
Thanks for the note :) I guess it's cheap for us becuase Reuben's only in for 12 hours - if he was in full time it would be $154 per week. that equals to about $100 US dollars per week. Crazy currency differences, eh?
from madamefromag :
Yeah, I definately won't be buying any of that brand if they necessitate buying a pregnancy test too! I wonder how that slipped past the editor.
from chaosdaily :
thanks for joining the moms of teens ring!
from madamefromag :
Thanks for sharing the brownie recipe. It was funny. I guess that is why I haven't had brownies in a while! I remember night stalker but I was forbidden from watching it.
from linusthegirl :
Thanks so much. I've been posting in a private diary. Things are still not so good..still working on it. My diary said I posted because I accidentally posted in it, and not the other one and had to delete. I really, really appreciate that you've left me notes. Thank you so much.
from bunny828 :
It probably won't help, but I figured how why your site flickers. It's the java for the War Costs which I realize is not necessarily your doing. I guess IE6 doesn't handle it as well as Netscape.
from bunny828 :
I like reading your site, but it flickers a lot. Is it just me? Is it the background of the text that flickers or some java thing?
from macfarlane :
*hugs* Sounds like you need one
from heart728 :
Hey just wanted to drop a line to say. Saw your banner and like your jounral. As far as your son, I may have some advice for you. This is coming from a kid with a broken home. If you want to read my journal let me know at [email protected] because I have it locked up pending my honorable discharge from the US Navy. Well hope to hear from you, Tim
from awittykitty :
Well said, Holly. I hated working with the public on the phone. It surely tainted my love of humanity.
from annanotbob :
You may call yourself cranky, but you cheered me up today when I was just in a bad place for no good reason, so thanks xx
from calthea :
Happy, happy birthday! I hope your day was filled with wonderful memories and not a lot of stress. :-)
from awittykitty :
Hi Holly. Me again actually wishing you a Happy Birthday ON your actual birthday. I think you are actually just about where you should be. I'm old enough to be a grandmother, but I sure don't feel like it. I guess our lives are what we make them. Have a good one!
from awittykitty :
I started sending out flares that my birthday was coming about a month in advance. Nothing wrong with announcing a momentous event like the anniversary of your existance. So Happy Birthday a little early Miss Holly. Have a good one!! :-)
from her-story :
#1 son passed my height last year. The more time that goes by, the harder it is to remember him as a baby.
from xnavygrrl :
Thanks for the note! Thanks to you my notes feature is fixed!!! As far as the kids...you can never be too careful right?
from awittykitty :
Mammograms aren't really that bad. You basically go in a room...some woman lifts your breast and plops it onto a metal plate and then she closes the top down onto your breast and that squeezes and pinches and is pretty uncomfortable. I'm short, so usually I'm on my tippy toes, because the machine is tall. They take quick x-rays. They do both breasts, usually 2 x-rays each, 2 angles...and then you're done in less than 5 minutes usually. No real prep is needed. They usually say not to wear deodorant that day. You also take off any jewelry, like necklaces. They usually have you wait while they look at the x-rays and then you can go home. About the only thing I'd say is be careful not to move during the x-ray or they'll have to re-do it. Its really pretty easy. It's just pinchy on your boob. That's about it. Good luck! :-)
from awittykitty :
It was kismet for me too. I love Johnny Depp and Tim Burton and have been waiting desperately for "Willie Wonka.." for quite a while. I was laughing at things nobody else was laughing at. Thought Johnny's choices were interesting, but I totally understood it at the end, where he seemed more normal after he learned about the joys of familyhood from Charlie. The oompah loompah guy was pretty cool too. He looked like a little Greek chef wearing plastic jumpsuits.
from ava-reborn :
Thank you for your note. I'm fine lovely, thanks. I wasn't in London yesterday. I have friends who work there, but none of them were involved either. Have a good weekend. x
from macfarlane :
Thanks for the Birthday Wishes xxxx
from awittykitty :
$56 worth of gas!! Wow! Your gas is a lot cheaper than around here. Our regular is $2.30. Be thankful for that at least. Have a nice and safe Fourth!

from calthea :
Hey. Which boards do you hang out on TFN? I have a computer that will finally agree with the site and would like to join a couple of the defender's chats. Thanks.
from awittykitty :
HAPPY BIRTHDAY WARREN! be nice to your Mom. Love, Witty. :-)
from hamlette2002 :
Ooh, me too on the liking the new layout! Anyhow, that first day went just fine. She wasn't nervous at all, and truth be told, I really wasn't either. She did great!
from xnavygrrl :
Your layout is awesome.. I love it!!
from alogglalala :
No, you're not alone being ignored by Andrew. I've sent three requests for help since I signed back up (about 2 months ago) and I haven't had a response to any of them yet, and the problems still exist. I just want what I'm paying for to do what I'm paying for!
from macfarlane :
I like the new layout, thats well cool!
from awittykitty :
And you don't look a day over 999. ;-) I have to agree with absolutely everything you said about writing in your d'land diary. Its very cathatic and therapeutic for me too and I don't feel quite so lonely when I see my d'land "friend"s name lit up in red every day or so. Congratulations. And yes, Holly, you do exist...
from cosmicrayola :
very pretty layout!!!
from her-story :
That's what I told her... I have NO idea what possesses her sometimes... all I know is that she's making decisions based on her immaturity and not as a teacher. *shrugs* I know that if I were in her position (and I was), I'd make sure that I was no where near anything that could turn into a vicious rumor... I made sure I was there for the kids, but not a part of what they did. Someone has to be the adult...
from xnavygrrl :
My pal, keep the password handy. It's only for a week that i gotta keep everyone locked out. I'm on a mission. They messed with the wrong female!
from macfarlane :
Oh my god I've seen Star Wars so many times I'm broke! It was very cool! Glad someone else liked it my friends didnt, and my partner...well she fell asleep :(
from ava-reborn :
Hi lovely. I've had trouble getting into your diary over the past week, so I've only just caught up. I'm so sorry you've had such a hard time of it with Warren. He's a great kid and has a wonderful loving mother! I know it will all work out! *hugs*
from my-fruition :
Wanted to wish you a Happy Mothers Day! You're a stong, loving mother, Holly. Never Forget.
from la-the-sage :
Oh, the perfectionist rears his ugly head at our house too. I'm just as stumped as you are about to get through to the kid. sigh... ~LA
from calthea :
Hey. Traveling meeting this Thursday (March 31, 2005) @ Barnes and Noble @ 7 pm. We will be discussing van details and other travel details.
from xnavygrrl :
I'm sorry you're having such a rough time. I know that it does get very tiring to do it all alone. :) I'm thinking of you. By the way, I don't think I gave you the password for my journal, so I'll email it to you...I'm sorry I missed giving that to you. I suck.
from kelsncarrie :
Really, I just want to come over there and choke him FOR you!!! (((HOLLY!!!))) Lotsa hugs!!!
from her-story :
Thanks for stopping by... and I love the whole history project thing w/ Warren ... I love Colonial America!
from calthea :
Hey stranger. I called tonight and don't know if you got the message. I was just wondering if you and Warren are going to join us next saturday? Give me a call or e-mail.
from kelsncarrie :
There is DEFINITELY something in the air. Yours is in trouble, mine is in the funny farm. I work for the FD, and this ENTIRE week was screwy all over town. Monday started out the week with DH trying to blow his head off and ended yesterday with a successful hanging in an apartment complex garage in town. Whoever he was, the neighbor found him. Psyche ED in the city has been full almost to capacity all week. I think they all came from MY town! If you need to vent, email me anytime. I knwo that stress ALL too well! Hang in there, I hope you feel better soon too!!!
from kelsncarrie :
Men... can't live with em, can't leave 'em by the side of the road. (((HUGS!!!)))
from hissandtell :
Hi - I found you through poola (and catz-eyes, and avalonte, and awittykitty, and iambucket, apparently). Your site is visually very beautiful, and your writing excellent and provocative. I'm looking forward to reading more. Love, R xxx
from catz-eyes :
:) hiya cherub. thank you *so* much for the lovely birthday wishes. it did indeed turn out to be a very nice bday - perhaps the 'curse' has been broken? anyway sweetpea, am very grateful for your kind thoughts ***HUGGLES*** love & kindness to you, =^..^= xo
from pajamamama :
Evan's been that way, too lately. Locking his door, getting angry when I try to tidy up his room... preteens - gotta love 'em. I guess!
from avalonte :
Apology accepted! But that's one of the joys of reading diaries from overseas, you get to learn a whole new language! English and American are a lot different than they appear!! Hehe!
from avalonte :
Oh my god!! Did you really think I would speak like that about a Pakistani?? I'm really shocked you thought that! No, pikey has no connection to the word Paki! Pikeys are scum who live in caravans, in little colonies, and travel around the country setting up camp wherever the fuck they please. Usually car parks and playing fields. They are mostly Irish, or of Irish blood. The kids don't go to school. The adults don't work. They are dirty, and often shit in the public playing fields they're camped on!! They cause loads of trouble, getting into fights and stealing. They are genuinely nasty scum! We get quite a few round here because there are so many fields. You learn to spot them! Sometimes if someone is wearing dirty old clothes and looks rough, you might say they look like a pikey, as an insult. So there you go. English lesson over for today! ;)
from kelsncarrie :
had to lock, nosey husband! User is friends, password is srf298. :)
from avalonte :
The photos were taken after her hair cut. That's how it is now, 6 inches shorter than it was. Like I said, it's about shoulder length now, so no it's not too drastically different, despite being much shorter. x
from xnavygrrl :
I know, this is just CRAZY! What happened to being a kid for a while??? I did tell her we could buy some books about it. That seemed to make her feel better. I just hope she doesn't find out how NERVOUS I am about this whole thing.
from macfarlane :
Just thought I'd say Hello and see how you are!
from poolagirl :
Ahhhhhhhhh........yes.....the sales job ruse. I fell for it once too. Never again. Your comments section isn't working by the way.
from avalonte :
Thanks for explaining that. We don't use the term "pink eye" over here, which is why I wasn't sure what it was. We only call it conjunctivitis. Anyway, I hope it's cleared up now! *hugs*
from xnavygrrl :
I'm trying not to generalize, but men really do suck sometimes. I too get very angry when my ex puts EVERYTHING else before Jackie.
from homeboy5 :
Ooh - doesn't bode well for 2005! Join the club. :-(
from kelsncarrie :
WOW!!! I'm glad you're ok. I hope you didn't burn from the acid, that stuff is WAY beyond nasty!!!!!
from her-story :
Thanks again for stopping by and wishing me luck. I hope I don't throw up on his desk. *grins*
from poolagirl :
I worked in catering for quite a few years. OMG! If a plate of chicken dropped to the floor, we were instructed to just pick it up and rearrange the platter - and serve it. The food industry here is appalling!
from poolagirl :
I am no-end pleased to bring you a chuckle every now and then. First, the cousin squirting the root beer and then being born in 1992. WOW!
from indy1212 :
Thanks :)
from xnavygrrl :
Wow, that entry about your dad brought tears to my eyes. It is strange, because that is the sort of dad I always wanted. How lucky you are.
from madamefromag :
I'm from the no ice in my glass please camp and my husband is in the must have ice in my glass camp. I don't like ice because it does water down my drink and since I drink it slowly the last half gets nasty. Besides, if it is refrigerated it is cold enough. My husband has to have ice and not just a few cubes either but the whole glass full. He tends to guzzle so maybe he doesn't get the dilution effect, who knows.
from avalonte :
I tried to add you to my msn buddies, but apparently your account doesn't exist, even to send email to!?!
from awittykitty :
you do know that your damn winter storm is going to hit us Monday. Can you guys maybe hold onto it or send it to Canada? We've only had 6" of snow thus far and we've usually had 25" by now. Arghhh!
from linusthegirl :
LOL! Everytime I moan about the "cold", I feel bad, because I know 56 isn't that cold! But I've lived here for fifteen years now!! My blood has thinned! I have no idea how I survived living up north for the first sixteen years!
from xnavygrrl :
I love your layout. It's beautiful.
from vanillakitty :
Happy Gobble Day!!!! *mwah*
from cassiopeia- :
Happy Thanksgiving--kisses, cassie
from xnavygrrl :
I'm smiling like a big dork. I can't help it!
from aiken4clay :
Oh yeah - I have SOOO been there. And I agree about the low-flow crappers. They're horrible!
from madamefromag :
Oh man is C ever attached to his schedule! He knows the exact order that things happen and if something he is expecting to happen doesn't, he'll ask for it over and over again. Have you tried saline mist nose drops for Warren's nose. They are what they use for infants but a doctor recommended it to me to use to help keep everything moist. He said that if the nasal passages get dry they get little cracks and tears and it is easier for germs to get in. I don't know how true that is, but you can get the stuff in the pharmacy near the other nose drops. The doctor gave me a recipe to make it myself which would be really cheap, but I couldn't figure out how to get it in my nose, so I just bought the store stuff.
from aiken4clay :
Thanks for the review on "The Incredibles"! I'd love to see it. I think Evan will like it, even if it doesn't have sharks biting people full of holes. On another subject... I used to let Evan sleep on his tummy, too - because it's the only way he would sleep. I'd place him on his back and he'd flip right over to his tummy, even from an early age. I guess they've been strong willed from the beginning!
from her-story :
Neosporin on a q-tip and rub it all over inside the nose. Don't tilt your head back during a nosebleed (gag), because the blood runs down your throat and makes you gag. Instead, lean forward and DO NOT SNIFF... because it's tempting, but it'll dislodge the bloodclot forming over the area that's bleeding. As a survivor of terrible nosebleeds (usually from allergies and dry heat), I can tell ya that neosporin works wonders. To prevent the bleeds, put neo in his nose if his nose feels dry (inside) to prevent the cracking and rupturing. You can also use an icepack (wrapped in a dishtowel) on the back of the neck to slow the bleeding some. However, if it's all too frequent, he should see a doctor.
from aiken4clay :
I get nosebleeds alot, too. In my case, it's because I'm so sensitive to dry air. If I dab a little Vaseline on the inside of my nose with a q-tip, it prevents it some. Messy, but effective! I hope things are going well for you and Warren!
from hamiltonian :
awesome journal! Great work on design and everything! Impressed also well written and i'll be back... btw VOTE FOR ME DIARYLAND PRESIDENT
from nevr-perfect :
Hey, I was first led to your page by an entry by Golfwidow about he Klingon, Cardassian and the Wookie. I thought that was funny, but then today I found out (via a random ND search) that you are from ND! I'm living in Fargo, too, going to school at NDSU. What a small world.
from feileacan :
Hiya! I didn't find a joke, but I did find this page: http://home.san.rr.com/dandull/Humor/StarTrek.html - pretty funny stuff to a geekette like moi. :o) P.S. - Thanks for adding me to your favorites!
from kitchenwitch :
Thanks! Yay! Next stop, sitting up on his own... No wait, please let it be sleeping through the night! LOL Bless!
from awittykitty :
Yes. Mr. Welk seems very decent and straight laced. My step father was from North Dakota. He was Norwegian and had an accent. I guess you develop an ear for it after a while. LOL.
from calthea :
Hey, I don't hate you. I understand your rant. :-) We just differ on the opinion, but that is cool. See ya at VC!
from wyndspirit :
Oh yeah!!! I've run across similar ND things. So true!
from indy1212 :
Thanks for the comment :) I absolutely love the layout, it totally fits the way I have been feeling lately with wanting to go anon. online. I'm pretty sure I've run across your diary before though. I've been on diaryland since 2001, but under many different names lol. I left to use Moveable Type a little over a year ago and it just got to be a huge headache. Couldn't really keep the two seperate. Anyway, I've babbled on way too much. Thanks again :)
from elmo-damian :
Thanks for inviting me into your diaryring! I am new at this whole thing and I dont know how to view other peoples diarys, but I am happy you like mine! Good luck in life & stay happy!
from xnavygrrl :
My you are going through a lot right now. I'm sorry times are rough for you. You and your son deserve the best life has to offer.
from buffyslays :
I wrote you a comment but I don't know if I somehow screwed it up because I couldn't see if afterwards. Argh...so confusing. I wanted to thank you for leaving me such a nice note when your life right now is so chaotic. I was really wonderful of you!! Right now I am trying to go to school (12 hours, considered full time) and work two jobs. My son is now having a lot of problems. Things just seem really bad, so I understand totally where you are coming from but tomorrow we are both going to get up and do it all over again because our boys need us. Please don't think you are a failure. Warren will understand, I swear to you. It may not be until he is older but he will see what you have done to clothe, feed, shelter and love with all your heart. You are a great mother and a beautiful person, DONT EVER FORGET THAT!! Bye for now my friend.
from awittykitty :
If buying a house and wanting your son to grow up in what your diary describes over and over as a nice neighborhood in a happy, relatively carefree childhood makes you a fucking failure than I guess you're right. You're a fucking failure. But I happen to think you're wrong. You are doing the best you can under adverse conditions. Its extremely easy to get behind (I only have about $60 until Oct. 3). There's nothing wrong with trying make things work and failing. It happens to a lot of people. And most of the time its not even their fault. Its circumstantial. Mine is circumstantial. IT JUST HAPPENS. And you don't strike me and someone who gives up. Don't give up Holly! If you have to crash and burn, than crash and burn. Then dust your little self off and start over. Many, many people do. Its rough, but you can do it. And having YOU, is more important to Warren, than having some expensive new toy. Remember that. People are more important than material things. Always!
from avalonte :
What's happened??? Are you ok? It can't be that bad, surely?? Whatever it is, I hope you pull through this unscathed! Hold Warren close and remember he loves you, and so do we!
from treesssa :
Thanks for the comment! That Poolie is a gem!I'll check you out in a bit!
from poolagirl :
At least you didn't touch your....well....you know....with the pepper hands.
from xnavygrrl :
Sorry things are sucking so much with your van...beaming good thoughts your way.
from avalonte :
I hope it's not the menopause. As you know, I think mine might be starting. I'm going to wait for one more unusual period then go to the doctor. I've had 3 odd ones in a row. I've never been late before, and they're always identical. so something's definitely up. Anyway, enjoy your period-free time, whatever the reason! Let's just hope it's your Depo! By the way, thanks for your message regarding K's results! And yes, isn't it funny how arrogant and territorial cats are!
from avalonte :
Thank you soooo much Holly!! You're an angel! I agree, the father should be told if it's possible. But, unfortunately, as I said, I know nothing about the guy! I'm not proud of it, but it happened! There's nothing I can do about that now. I don't even know the guy's surname! Anyway, thanks for your support! And especially for leaving a note to tell me!! xx
from hamlette2002 :
IT's definitely easier to hide the bills in the sofa cushions and pretend you never got them. I've tried that approach in hopes that the pennies collecting in the cushions would balance out with the bills. It's an ongoing and thusfar unsuccessful experiment, but I'm still trying. Maybe I should have a big penny-ante poker party. The guests can sit on the couch and use the coffee table for the card table. Requisite attire: Loose-fitting short-shorts with holes in the pockets. *grin*
from farmingwife :
Kids here used to start school Aug. 19-20 or thereabouts. Then two years ago the WI Dells and southern part of the state got all exited and they made a law change. It is asnine but you know, if you are north of Hwy. 29 you are in another country according to the southerners. I know, I used to be one! They think the northwoods are great for partying in and taking vacations and trying to force their citified ways onto us but when it comes to jobs or laws or property rights, well, north who? When I was in high school it was the same, all the boys gone. It was great! I think it is pretty sad though when deer hunting is more important than an education...and that is what they are teaching kids. Just my opinion.
from tearstream :
I hope oyu and Warren are feeling better real sooN!
from antihoyhoys :
Anakin can come visit me ANYDAY!
from barelywaking :
hey cranky -t hank you for sending a note my way - goood to know there are other mothers on here and not just mad little teenagers who see no future and hate their parents lol-

Happy birthday to my favourite Fargonian! Have a great day celebrating. All the best to you. =)
from avalonte :
Happy birthday hon!! Love the quotes. Have a wonderful day!! I hope it's really special!!
from catz-eyes :
HAPPY BIRTHDAY! hiya cherub, hope you're having a wonderful birthday! *love* the quotes about age in your b'day entry ;) Hope the Angels of Fun & Frolics walk with you always. =^..^= Jay
from catz-eyes :
hiya cherub :) thanks for your comments... i took a look (do remember some of your entries about i robot) but couldn't find the review... found the review about harry potter & the prisoner of azkaban instead :) good review, though we may have to agree to disagree on some points (but damn, cannot wait for next book/movie). and i see its almost birthday time for you! woohoo! will be back to wish you well on your special day! =^..^=
from myexodus :
Your page did load much faster than usual and with less pop ups....thank you and happy belated Birthday!!!!=]
from hopeanew :
ooh! thank you thank you thank you! *falls down and kisses your toes* you saved my sanity! :)
from catz-eyes :
hiya cherub :) just been reading thru a couple of your entries... there's an older one with remarks about search engines and how ppl found your diary that is just HYSTETRICAL! you're one funny lass! anyway, you're an enjoyable read, but more than that - a pretty cool person. your son is lucky to have a mum like you :) all the best to you sweetpea. oh, by the way, where *does* that quote "and i just happen to be cute" come from? =^..^=
from myexodus :
OMG...I love this quote...."if I hear duh one more time, I swear his mouth will need its own zip code". You really come up with some great lines. Love your humor!
from poolagirl :
I can't get your diary to load! WHAAAAA! So....I will have to forgo that delightful slice of reading and simply thank you for your loving support of my work. I mean that from the bottom of my heart.
from lousrose :
hey, thank you so much, that was very nice of you to say. i wish you all the best. <3
from linusthegirl :
I am so sorry someone stole your son's bike.
from just-a-nut :
my mom is also kind of an expert in the special needs child field..she works one on one w/ many kids of many special needs and attends conferences constantly and is a social worker and all that jazz. constantly lecturing me on what to watch for and what can cause what..blah blah lol. it is good though, to have that knowledge int he family. i have a brohter with add/hd and tourettes and my mom and youngest brother have add/hd i have dysgraphia and probably add but haven't been tested so i shoudl stop saying that. i just hope my kids get my hubbies side--they're all freakin mensa genius'
from just-a-nut :
I haven't taken his behavior..because the odd thing is when it's us one on one(like now) he's a joy..i'm sure it's the middle child syndrome..i'm hoping that him starting preschool this year will help--and if not at least i'll have someone who's an "expert" in the field to tell me what they think. I've mentioned his behavior to the ped..but never taken him to a psych-ped said it sounded like he was just a spirited child. Scary thing is he's just like my middle brother--but my middle brother has ADD/HD and tourette's..so i guess we'll see in time.
from farmingwife :
I didn't have a horse as a kid either and didn't live on a farm though lived in the country. It was zoned for no livestock. So I collected Breyers too and have way too many now ;). Thanks for checking the rings.
from farmingwife :
Thanks for visiting and letting me know about the link for rings. Darnit it works for me but I see where it wouldn't for you. So I copied your's and of course changed it (duh) but now I'm getting the DL error *pouts*.
from iwish :
your guestbook wouldnt let me make a new message, so ill write it in here. the problem with the farmfolks link was that i had typed in "farmfolk" without the s. but its all fixed now, and the links are in the e-g and the geography/timeline rings pages. thanks for being understanding.
from crazedweazel :
aah, but you know what?? you were right because i was thinking of my old toilet layout...despite the very obvious fact that you told me you like my fishies. hhmmm...sorry, but my brain is not where it should be. i honestly don't know how to get a link up to my rings page...all i can think of is going thru the archives and looking for the entry named 'rings'...but that is so much work. I shall have to figure out another way to get my rings link up on the front page like it used to be on my old layout...darnit!!! lol But thanks for pointing that out!! ;)
from her-story :
What IS it with these ex's?? (My condolences for being an ex to a creep...)
from twisted-mind :
That's ok love. I just thought maybe some hospital was doing their shrink research on my diary
from zaziel :
Darlin', you need to get rid of the pop-up crap I run into when I click on your diary before I can consider putting you on the List of the Fallen. And I'm sorry but I had to delete your message from my guestbook for the same reason. Hope you can fix it soon!
from poolagirl :
Yes, I have seen the Kum & Go (and I laugh every time - what WERE those people thinking?) A gluttonous bunch of Yanks - yes on that point. SUPERSIZE the entire world! GAAAAAAAAAAAAA!
from myexodus :
I just love you new layout so much! Wow, you did a great job!
from poolagirl :
Thanks for your nice comment, little sister! LOVE the pictures of Warren!
from poolagirl :
I waved to Des Moines from the plane - just for you! I actually spent my weekend in the Northwest corner of Iowa - complete with storms and havoc of various natures. YIKES! Hope you are doing well, little sister! Hugs to you and Warren.
from awittykitty :
I was going to add the name generator thing to my website but the word YUCKY came up twice in my name. Hey! Incidently, Johnny Depp and Tim Burton together again for anything makes me very happy.
from hamlette2002 :
Thanks, I'd love some chocolate ice cream! Shall we toss a scoop in a tall glass of Coke and make a float of it?
from hamlette2002 :
{{{{{{{Holly}}}}}}}}} I know it's so hard to find the spark that makes your heart melt every time you look at your child. Especially when that particular person seems to be doing his/her best to disintegrate the very foundation of your being. Believe me, EVERY parent goes through this, and you're not a bad person OR a bad mother for wondering, "Why me?!?" We're not designed to love everything our kids do, and our kids are programmed to see how close to the edge they can push us. Yes, we have to love them. No, we do <B>NOT</B> have to like them all the time, or love everything they do. That's called parental privelege!
from hamlette2002 :
I'm beginning to think I'm the only one who posts on your tagboard LOL
from avalonte :
I love your new layout!!
from xnavygrrl :
I love your layout. He is such a handsome little devil. :)
from theprocess :
Thanks. And I agree. I'd *buy* him a clue myself if it wasn't for the price of gasoline! :) I like your site; and I just watched one of my sons go through similar changes in Modells. I'll be back to read more soon.
from avalonte :
Thanks for your lovely message at the weekend! It was really appreciated! x
from brenna1980 :
Thanks :) I'm really proud of breastfeeding Cade as I didn't breastfeed Rhys longer than a couple days, so it was a big deal to me. The home movie is adorable! You have a handsome young man!
from hamlette2002 :
I'm prompted on a regular basis to be grateful for the health of my children. I hope your son's brother's family is able to find all the help and resources that can help them learn to live with and survive the scary diagnosis.
from poolagirl :
What a sweet boy! What a sweet boy! It brought tears to my eyes!
from cassiopeia- :
Happy Mommy's Day! kisses, cassie
from avalonte :
Thank you sweetie! You're right, and sometimes, ironically, it's only our kids that keep us sane!! Despite driving us insane!!
from awittykitty :
thanks Holly. I pretty much can't stop crying. I feel like I'm losing my best friend with "A"
from treewillow :
I am sorry your van wasn't working right. I know mine needs a new muffler, but heck who can afford that at the moment. I think I will put some money away each month and eventually get it fixed. I am lucky to a point, my ex and his dad both enjoy working on vehicles. And so more often than not, all I have to do is buy the parts and they will fix it for me. Happy Easter :).
from her-story :
Thanks for stopping by. He's feeling much better (he HAD to go back to school)... :)
from poolagirl :
So glad you liked the butt lack facial thing! I am keeping track of your "vote." YAY!
from awittykitty :
what's a reverse IP? Sounds very spylike. Would like to know more about the Forum thing, but didn't want to give my personal info online to register. Being a secretive bipolar and all. :-) Congrats though whatever it was.
from xnavygrrl :
Thanks for the note. :)
from cosmicrayola :
Go you! My son was fit to be tied when at 17, he started being a little too secretive and I went through his room. In his dresser drawer, I found a note from his 17 year old girlfriend. She discussed an afternoon they had spent together. We found out 3 weeks later she was pregnant. Her parents severed all ties to us. I have a 13 year old grandson that I don't even know. Get nosey! Get involved! Let them get pissed! I wish I had done it sooner. Children need to be protected, even against themselves.
from poolagirl :
You are SUCH a good mom! Warren is very lucky to have you!
from poolagirl :
What a lovely entry - and you have every right to be proud of Warren. YAY!
from jamsjunction :
I hope everything is ok, its been a while since you've updated last, which isnt like you. Just wanted you to know someone was thinking of you & your son :)
from xnavygrrl :
Thanks for the note. I'm glad I have such good friends here. Thank you for writing. :)
from cassiopeia- :
Happy Valentine's Day! kisses, cassie
from avalonte :
I'm so glad to see someone over there has some perspective! Over here, we can't believe America got so uptight about Janet Jackson's boob! That sort of thing happens regularly over here. It's no big deal. Who'd have thought us uptight prim and proper English would be more liberal than the Americans! Lol!
from awittykitty :
doesn't winter just suck? We just had 80 inches of snow here in January. I'm ready for a palm tree and tanning lotion. How about you?
from lilmellie :
Hey there its me obiwankenobilover. Just coming in to say Hi!!
from xnavygrrl :
I wanted to say thank you for all the notes you've left me. I really appreciate you taking the time to tell me you care. :)

from sanetwin :
Thanks for the birthday wishes :)
from pashiesplace :
What exactly is an OFP? Thanks for the advice. I appreciate it.
from poolagirl :
Don't let the bishop see you with that awful book! Isn't it great? Isn't it lovely? Isn't it an amazing look at the underbelly of Christian belief systems? OOOOH, MOMMA!
from thisisjohn :
Thank you.
from awittykitty :
I remember I joined a protest to save an old art deco movie theatre in California. It was so beautiful. I saw "Young Frankenstein" there and there were actually bats flying around in the theatre. It really made Frankenstein's castle seem like it was in 3-D. LOL.
from avalonte :
I've been meaning to ask you for ages, does your browser still have a problem with my layout? What exactly is the problem?
from xnavygrrl :
Thanks for the note. It sometimes seems the impossible is very possible. I have to remind myself anyway that I'm okay, and that others will probably see me that way too.
from xnavygrrl :
I felt like I was reading about myself. I too have meaningless mail, old movie stubs, receipts too. I'm a packrat also.
from poolagirl :
Oh, you are gonna LOVE "The Da Vinci Code!" YAY! Sounds like I missed a good time at Golden Arch Land with you and Warren!
from neurotic-one :
after all this time of reading you I noticed you had me on your entry page section of reads. Duh, but I am observant. Now all you gotta do is put me on your profile! =]
from poolagirl :
LOVE the new template, Little Sister!
from ktdream :
Thanks much for the birthday wish! =)
from iluvjessee :
Harley, er,, Holly, LOL! Bum about the parking lot incident. Thanks for the Birthday Wishes!!
from pashiesplace :
Thank you so much for your notes, understanding & offered support. (((Hugs)))
from bluecharis :
Hi there! Thanks a lot for your sweet birthday wishes! *bows humbly* I hope, you and your loved ones had a nice Christmas! All the best for 2004! Love, Charis :-))
from flyinby :
I know about snopes.com, that is how I found out it was a hoax. I didn't believe it really, when I first read it, but I posted it and then posted the results of my personal research as an edit at the bottom of the entry to let people know. I also sent the link to everyone that my cousin had mailed that email to. She forwards EVERYTHING like that, ALL the time. Even that Bonsai Kitty one! lol She believes everything she reads and doesn't think for herself very much. :P Anyways, thanks for the note! Take care! Jody
from treewillow :
I am so glad you all had a wonderful Christmas. And I agree, just watching the look on a child's face when he opens something he really wanted but didn't expect is priceless. Ok, I have to ask, what is a 7-layer bar?
from poolagirl :
Hey, little sister, YOU would LOVE "The Da Vinci Code!" Yes! I will be out in paperback soon - get it! If we lived down the street from each other, I would be knocking on your door, offering to lend it to you. You will find out just how PAGAN the Catholic church really is!
from flyinby :
Merry Christmas! Take care and God bless! ~ Jody 12/25/03
from angelmum :
Thanks for the Birthday Wishes
from flyinby :
I got this new firewall software on my computer, and every time I visit your diary I have to get it approved because there are 4 cookies attempting to save each time I visit! *sigh* I just wanted to let you know that something on your diary is doing that, since I'm not sure if you know it (or care!). *grin* Toodles!
from xnavygrrl :
I have that same problem at night. My doctor believes I have night terrors, which are unusual for someone my age, unless they suffered a traumatic childhood experience. I went to a sleep doctor, who confirmed that I have sleep apnea. The sleep apnea can aggravate the night terrors because I stop breathing and my body goes into a flight or fight response. Now that I'm being treated I'm only having a few episodes of my half awake freakouts instead of multiple episodes every night. They would only happen every night if I was under a lot of stress or emotionally distraught. If yours get to be bothersome you might want to have it checked out because they can become very distressing. I hope this helps. Maybe you should visit sleep.net and check out other peoples experiences too.
from treewillow :
I am so sorry for all that you are going through right now. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Just remember the good times. And not to change the subject, but why does the date in your diary say March 14th, 2003?
from treewillow :
I have to say, my son has never lost his hat. Oh wait, yes he did once. But he has lost 3 pairs of mittens since October. So, for this newest pair. I crochet a chain and sewed it into his mitts and put it through his sleeves. He thinks this is the best thing in the world. Wonder how long that will last lol. I think we should just make winter be over as of January 1st, 2004. And then not come back again till Christmas Eve of 2004. To me that would be heaven lol.

HI! Hope you don't mind me adding you to my faves.
from treewillow :
Thank you for the Birthday wishes :). And hmmm so it's you I have to blame for this lovely snow that I am receiving today is it lol. Next time please send it the other way lol.
from parlance :
I am alive. At least thats what they enjoy telling me.
from pastagirl :
Thanks for the birthday wishes :)
from macfarlane :
Thanks for popping a note in my guestbook made me smile :)
from xnavygrrl :
I knew I wasn't the only one with an opinion on the matter. Thanks, hugs!
from treewillow :
First I want to say, I love your new layout. It's awesome. Second, PLEASE PLEASE keep the snow there, or send it the other way. I don't want your snow in Manitoba, Please and thank you very much :). I would be so happy if it lightly snowed Christmas eve, and then melted on New Year's Day and that's all we got all winter. Wouldn't that be heaven sigh. I understand about the snow, and then people start thinking, oh no, it's going to storm, I better go and stock up. And the first snow of the year, one would think that everyone who drives has forgotten how to drive in snow. I mean, it's not like we don't have snow for say what 9 months out of a year lol. How could one forget what it's like in those 3 short months. Please take care, hugssssss
from pashiesplace :
She is very sensitive. That's part of why I feel so bad. Plus, there is a very sweet side to her thats there about half the time. I think that makes it harder. Knowing she can be so sweet makes it painful to watch when she is so mean.
from pashiesplace :
Thank you. I've been thinking we need some help with her for awhile now. Seriously. Looking back, do you know what would have made things better for you back then? If thats not too personal. I just want to help her and I'm not sure what she really needs. I know she responds really well to positive reinforcement so she gets it whenever its appropriate. I try really hard to make sure all 3 of them get enough individual time & attention so shes not lost in the shuffle. I do think she fears she will be though. I hate seeing her get so upset but then if I back down her behavior will never improve. If I don't intervene she'll spend her day beating on Em while taking all of the toys.
from treewillow :
Thank you for your note you left me. I truly appreciate it. Your job sounds hmmm what would be the right word to use lol. I wish I had a hard time getting my son up. He wakes up at 5:30 or there abouts. And he doens't even need the bathroom as an excuse to get up and then crawl into my bed to play with the dog. I am glad that his rash is going away. They certainly arn't fun. Please take care, hugss
from ozwald :
Hey there! Thanks for the note! Wow - you have the longest buddy list I've ever seen! OZ
from flyinby :
i heard somewhere that the companies that make laundry soap tell you to use at least triple what you actually need in order to get a load of laundry clean, and i tend to believe it. they do have a lot of residue on them frm the soap, that sudsy stuff you saw will probably be there a few more washes. was for me. :) i hope it helps, but if it doesn't, i'd definately talk to your doc about it to see what more to be done. has he tried aveno baths? (collodial (sp) oatmeal baths?) they are soothing for itchy skin, my daughter loves them when she's got a bad rash. they have an ointment, too, that's not greasy that seems to work better than calamine lotion types. oh, and johnson's and johnson's makes lotions and liquid soaps for babys that have ecsema, and if he doesn't balk at using them, they might help too. they are soothing for me, too, when i have super dry itchy skin. no fragrances in them, no dyes, no nothing. they have bar soaps, too. check at walgreens or osco or something. i have other ideas, too, if you need em. :) my daughter has had trouble for forever. i have redhead skin, myself, though not a redhead. my dad has red hair (think carrot top from the commercials). i have his skin, freckles and pale super sensitivity and all! sheesh, sorry about the super long note! i've been WAAAAY too chatty lately! :) good luck!
from flyinby :
if you put vigegar and baking soda together in the same soap dispensing cup, the baking soda will fizz . . . and it will overflow. :(
from flyinby :
oh, btw - still can use shout and other products for stains. and this is how i was my oldest daughters clothes, she has bad skin rashes all the time because of ecsema (sp). :) good luck! i know it seems a hassle, but if it works for your son it would be worth it!
from flyinby :
to remove the residue of soap irritants from the clothes: Run wash with 1/2 cup baking soda and 1/2 cup vinegar in the wash. Put another 1/2 cup vinegar in the rinse cycle. Run an additional cold water rinse with plain water. If there is a smell of vinegar afterwards, just use the extra rinse (or just reset it at final rinse) with 1/4 cup of baking soda, it gets rid of the smell really quick. To wash regularly: 1. Cold Soak / Prewash with 1/2 cap of liquid detergent (NOT NATURAL SOAPS as they leave a residue, for example, not dreft or other baby types, they coat clothes (feels soft but can irritate)with residue) 2. Wash with 1/2 cup baking soda 3. Another 1/4 cup baking soda in the rinse cycle
from flyinby :
have you tried using just plain ole white vinigar to wash his clothes in? vinigar and baking soda are great for washing. daughter has severe ecsema (sp) and super sens skin too. rash all over if i'm not careful! (bleeding, too) baking soda and vinigar work wonders for that.
from jamsjunction :
I wonder if you could contact the big brother big sister program in your area, if they would help you with Warrens reading maybe? Do you have a local college (I know nothing about Fargo sorry) in your area? I know here, the local university offers free things to the public as a part of there clinicals, for example, my best friend received free speech therapy for her son for the summer as part of the clinicals they had to do. He really did benifit from it so much. Maybe you could call the education department at a near by college and see if they are willing to help, for little to no money. Explain your situation..I hope you can get some help..your post brought me to tears..Best Wishes!
from xnavygrrl :
Hi. I read your letters to your son. Sorry if I wasn't supposed to. Anyway, I was so touched by what you wrote. These are things I want to communicate to my daughter too. You did a beautiful job.

Hi there. I noticed that you read Star Wars books. You're the first person I've seen on Diaryland who does. Up until about two years ago, I bought every SW book that came out, even the Young Jedi books. Well, nice profile. \m/

Ah.....yes.....It's Ah-Nold Schwarzenweiner for guv-nah her in California. I used to live in Minnesota. Hmmmm.....maybe weird politics is following me!
from poolagirl :
You are an amazing writer! I found you through some interesting linkage, and here you are - cracking me up at midnight in San Diego! Fargo, huh? Been there many times - in another life - across the Red River of the North from Meen-eh-soe-tah. I just added you to my FAVES.
from flyinby :
I sincerely thank you for your supportive words in my notes, or was it guestbook! I do appreciate it. Today has been an emotionally draining day, it was nice to get support for this potentially difficult decision I've made.
from flyinby :
You know, my husband has WarCraft 3, so I'd be willing to mail you both 1 and 2 for your son to have if you'd like. My email is flyinby at diaryland if you know what I mean without typing the whole thing out. *shrug* You are welcome to them, if you'd like. I don't have the booklets for them, though, but they both play the same. Lemme know! :D
from xnavygrrl :
Thank you for the note. I called my doctor today because even at 2.5 mg, I am exhausted, confused and lethargic. Now they say to split it in half, and only take half a day. We'll see. Talk soon! :)

I found you on the webring. You are a talented writer, very interesting. :)

Thanks for visiting my site again. Yes, I think my new layout is much more elegant, and a new diaryland friend is helping me tweak it even more. I like your layout, too, but for some reason, it doesn't quite like my aol browser--I can still read it, but it is slower. I need to try Netscape. I am glad things are going better with your son--It gave my heart a pang to think about a kid needin a PHP. You obviously love him very much. If youhave time, could you go back to my site and read what I just posted today [7.12, the second entry)? I got a note from someone who thought I had no business writing about my patients & my work. I explained where I was coming from, and how I was careful about their privacy--nonetheless, the criticism stung. Do you think what I'm doing seems self-indulgent? (Now this seems a little nuts, that I should bother you with this...)I have not let ANYONE who knows me know about the diary, so there are only strangers to ask. Anyway, thanks.
from trinity63 :
Hi you - thanks for signing! I hope Warren gets better, and I hope your money troubles resolve. Bill Collectors suck.

I didn't think there was a "Debtor's Prison" in America. I may be in a lot of trouble here.

Everytime I visit your diary, I get the sudden urge to buy circus peanuts, I should keep a bag on hand at all times, so when I read your entries, I can eat them lol..Good Luck on winning that Jeep! How cool!
from watty :
Thanks so much for the birthday wishes! I'm still envious of you that you live so close to all those cool stores. I used to live about a five-minute drive from Culvers... miss it so much now. Have a great 4th of July! =)

My browser is set to 800x600 resolution I think. I'm not too computer savvy.
from vadergirl :
I can't sign your guestmap. That whole side with links and stuff continues to disappear whenever the browser loads your page. =(
from vadergirl :
It's been that way for a few weeks now. I see the tagboard when the page is loading and then suddenly it vanishes and all that ends up on the screen is your entry and links.
from vadergirl :
Is there a reason why I can't see your tagboard on your page ?
from vadergirl :
Money is weird like that. It is fickle and decides it wants to change hands at the drop of a hat. I have the same problem too !
from vadergirl :
Sheesh, I go all AWOL from reading your diary and drama happens ! Glad everything is alright with Warren. =) Better a late comment than no comment I suppose.

from buffyslays :
Thanks for signing my guestbook! You know, when my ratbastard of an ex left the house for the girl-child he found three years he's never stopped trying to make my life hell. Once when he came over to pick up my son I was listening to Tom Petty and "Don't Come Around Here No More" just happened <wink, wink> to be on and he said, "are you trying to tell me something?" Hmmmmm... Unfortunately, with these morons, subtlety just isn't a concept they grasp.
from hrtsmom :
Snow. whee. Oh well, at least we don't have too much yet. The kids want to go out and throw snowballs already, build snowmen, the whole bit. I have to convince them there isn't enough snow yet. Thing One is off to Santa's Village today with her Head Start class. Hope she has fun and doesn't drive Santa crazy reminding him to bring her every Barbie item ever manufactured.
from hrtsmom :
Hello again! No, I didn't have a booth at the Con, but I was there. Maybe I did see you without knowing it. :) But you know, you see one woman with a sword, you've seen them all. ;) If you were there in '97, I wrote the script for the opening ceremonies presentation, "The Way of the Kon." So what do you think of the date for next year? Halloween? They have to be kidding -- the weather here is so lousy that time of year, who'll want to come? Have you ever checked out the forum on the Con website? I've been engaging in a debate there lately with the Con chairman over the move to the more expensive hotel. Not that it matters now; it's a done deal.
from vadergirl :
Cute Trading Card. Durn it now I have to make me one ! :P

Hello, Cranky--thanks for visiting my page. I just started this and it amazed me how many people came by because of the banner. I read your latest entry and was especially impressed by: "They say God only throws us what we can handle, but I am beginning to think the Big Guy need to look up the concept of too much." You've got that right. Very sorry about your friend-- You sound a lot like Hamlet--he wasn't in the best of mental health, but he was smart as a whip, and you're both right. We don't know what's on the other side, so it's better to keep going. I'll read more--MAJ

Hiya again. Ha! I had to laugh reading your description of the weather yesterday. Woke up this morning to find the lid of the kids' sandbox and a wastebasket halfway across the yard, yet the grill brush was still in its place. At least ND has one exciting thing: the weather.

Hey! I got your message. I used to have entries here but started putting them on my personal Website instead. http://www.angelfire.com/nd/braindump It's a weird site just dealing with whatever creative stuff I'm working on at the moment. My journal entries aren't *entirely* true-to-life; more like how I sometimes imagine my life to be, but it's mainly based in fact. I also have Sim stories and fiction on there. How many kids do you have? You can email me at [email protected], since I don't get to DiaryLand very often these days.

I'm shopping for a house right now and one of my not-major-but-not-minor-either considerations is whether or not my cat (Nina) would like it.

I might be smoking crack (LOL) but I can't get your guestbook to work. I have all kinds of stuff to tell you but lost your number. Todd cleaned, and sometimes when he cleans stuff gets tossed. *sigh* Am I the only one that can't get into your guestbook? Have you had other messages? I tried from home and work...no dice.
Anyhow, good for Warren with all the sharing. His handwriting samples look better than mine, that's for sure. See, told you I had lots of stuff to say...LOL And I'm sorry to hear about your car. That's just not fun. I had the same thing happen when I was in college. Got stalled out all the time, and it was winter then too. Uck. Anyhow, keep in touch, okay? (((hugs)))
PS Thanks for being such a great friend to lbrty828 too. She just raves about you! :)
