Hello gorgeous. I "watched" the Talented Mr. Ripley with a certain guy a while ago, so it was high time I saw it and actually watched it again. It's a really good movies. Too much blood, at times, but I quite like it. The whole creepy scratching the face out, and Matt Damon sitting on that bed at the end... it's so real. I got shivers. I was quite impressed. Hey, I think I'm gonna go call that guy now and see if he wants to "watch" Almost Famous. Nah, we always end up literally watching that movie, so I'll have to pick something weak. Claaaaaaara....*taps on the shoulder* I'm gonna be evil and annoying and say Ska originated from 50's soul bands like the Drifters, and even James Brown...Jazz had some influence. But in Jamaica, where they were badly short on radio stations at the time, the general public listened to American stations on shortwave radios, using the popular music of the time to influence thier own sound. Desmond Dekker, The Toasters, bands on the Skinhead Revolt album (classic)yadda yadda all cite popular American rock and soul of the '50's and 60's as thier major influences. Buuuuut, I'm a biased old skool Rudeboy Ska fan....and, just for the sake of being even more unruly, whatever people are calling Ska these days or 3rd generation Ska as some others are calling it...well, I have the same problem with that as I do with Blink 182 being called a punk band, but I won't quibble...*lol* I...probably shouldn't have written all that, but hey, don't hold it against me. :-P I dig yah' tons...
