Are you still around? I just happened to come back to read my old diary because someone asked about it.
from candoor :
and four years later i am hired by a woman who says "big girl panties" rather regularly as a way of telling people to suck it up and get the job done... coincidence is life... hope your life is smiling :)
from annanotbob :
Hi Zuzu - I stayed at Alison's last week (which was blissful), and wanted to drop by to say how much I loved your piece that she has on her wall. All the best, Anna
from candoor :
passing through with holiday smiles and wishes for a wonderful new year :)
from fightn4life :
Earth hour sounds awesome...maybe I can get these people in this area to turn off lights for an hour. One small step...who knows maybe they will add Orlando to the list. Sandyz

Thank you! I will keep writing! I promise!

when is the little package due. can't wait to see those amazing baby photos i know you will take. =)
from elgan :
Hurrah! That's great news. I have your new blog on Google Reader, so I know when you update. Looking forward to your new entries.
from madrigle :
zu, i miss you.
from fightn4life :
How beautiful Zuzu, wonderful writing. I have missed reading your diary my friendI hope all is well with you. You are in my thoughts often. Sandyz
from hedgehoggy :
Funny. You're not the first to tell me that. You know how it is. 3 things get me all rattled: 1). Obesity 2). Race issues 3). Animal rights You might add politics but I don't find people to be as willing to share their thoughts. I'm just a bit passionate and cannot understand the love of dog fighting all while finding this to be a racially dividing subject.
from f-i-n :
I adopted the sky!
from a-z-a :
Zuzu, thank you for your support. it's a little freaky, but i'm sure i can hang in there.
from madrigle :
evertime I hear someone say they think bush is doing a good job, i'm like, "are you serious?" It's just crazyness.
from madrigle :
ackkkkkkkkkk. I feel old when tech wigs me out. I couldn't get my comments to go through on blogger so here I am. Thanks for the kudos about the new painting. :D The church I'm actually interested in is St. Gregory's episcopal. I saw a pbs show, religion and ethics weekly, that featured a story about one of their ministers, Sarah Miles. I just had this overwhelming feeling that it was where the paintings needed to find a home. HUGS. James

Dispatched the animal? That sounds painful.

Hey, I am checking this story out on snoop.com :) Thanks for the laugh. Sandyz
from zosianicola :
Hi zuzu, thanks for the Hemingway advice, i will read the short stories---i also can't find your current postings on blogspot. what am I doing wrong?
from fightn4life :
I keep checking your new Blog, so far all I seee is last entry 2005. Hope all is well with you. I think of you often. Sandyz
from jammybastard :
I'm just sickened by the whole thing. I'm just not that person, but there's nothing I can say to him or anyone else once they've made up their mind. I feel really violated. It's like there's no public forum where I can say what I'm feeling without having the same sort of reactionaries jumping down my throat. That's one of the few drawbacks about living in the most liberal town in the country -- a small handful of people regularly take advantage of public sentiment and play us a like a fiddle.
from f-i-n :
It does make sense....for a mouse in a maze (lol)
from madrigle :
Zuzu! I did it! I'm in a great new gallery in Santa Fe! HUGS.
from fightn4life :
Well that explains why each time I tried to link to your new Blog I was getting entries dated 2001. I really thought it was my computer not following the correct link. I wondered if I had taken too many pain meds. :) Sandyz
from elgan :
I just checked out your neighbour's Xanga and had to laugh: he and I use the identical template (http://www.xanga.com/elgan). I have Xangalock enabled, so you have to be logged in to read me, and I've turned off the RSS feed because I don't want outsiders having access to that blog. I don't want to have to censor myself to avoid the search engines, and Im not always very discrete there. In answer to your question, I don't post identical entries at Xanga as a rule. Sometimes I do, but usually only when it's something I feel needs to reach a larger audience (as in my thoughts about the VT massacre) or when I'm not inspired enough to write two different entries. Usually, though, they're quite different. I also don't update there every day, as I do here.
from f-i-n :
Yeah...something's wrong with Diaryland. I am having trouble leaving comments anywhere without it taking a thousand years. And don't get me started on the spam.
from f-i-n :
Sorry about that. It's the only page I could find that plays the song. It takes a second to install the player and then you're set (no need to sign up for anything). Or you can watch the video on YouTube.
from elgan :
If you have a Xanga, why not move there? I'm still elgan over there, but I have a slightly different voice.
from elgan :
I have the same problem with punctuation marks at Xanga, where I also have a blog. I haven't tried them anywhere else except for some sites which use "pseudo-html", where the regular keyboard combinations work. At Xanga my formatting doesn't disappear, which is kind of nice, but I know what you mean about all of it reverting back to normal type and then when you press "send" it turns into gobbledy gook again. I don't know what to say. It's true that once upon a time those tags were unnecessary. It really bothers me if I go in to an older entry to make changes and I have to redo all the tags.
from zuzus-petals :
Thanks Elgan, except that I don't have to do this on any other blog I post to and I used to not have use HTML tags for punctuation at Diaryland either. I'm not looking for a long dash... just a dash. And if you hit the "back button" and then the "forth" button, all those stupid symbols disappear and all previous entries don't have that symbol... so it stops making sense that it has to do with those tags. Why aren't they relevent for previous entries.. the code didn't change one iota.
from elgan :
Well, that worked too well. I didn't think html tags worked in the notes, but apparently they do. I'll try again: open quotes = & l d q u o ; close quotes = & r d q u o ; apostrophe = & r s q u o ; etc. These and more can be found at http://www.webmonkey.com/webmonkey/reference/special_characters/
from elgan :
The awkward symbols appear everywhere, not just at Diaryland. You have to use actual html tags to get the rights ones: eg. open quotes = “, close quotes = ”, apostrophe = ’, and so on. The long dash just doesn't work, period. It took me way too long to figure all this out, but it's not Diaryland's fault.

If you need to write with a pen you may always write long lovely letters to me. I still experience the thrill I did as a child at personal letters sent on special paper or pretty cards arriving addressed to me. I miss exchanging letters with friends from afar. Just please don't run away from the computer, I would miss you terribly.

no worries; i love reading your notes. and your opinion is always welcome... and not just because you tend to be on the right path :)
from janegamma :
Oh, Zuzuzuzuzuzuzu! Such a pretty pretty page!
from fightn4life :
I am so glad you are in the least going to stay and update when/if you write elsewhere. I understand not getting response for problems here on this site. I have sent several requests, never a word back. I am not sure if Ill again pay to upgrade after two years, who knows what the future holds. Fo now I am grateful you are staying. Sandyz
from aliannmil :
BTW I forgot to mention. I love the new layout. Your house seems so bright and feels airy from here. I hope mine feels as bright and airy when I am done.
from aliannmil :
You make such beauty, I am in awe.
from madrigle :
Oh my fucking lord......, can I come sit beside yourself and sip along with you? HUGS! april 15, 2007
from a-z-a :
er... i have no idea why you should stay, really... i almost left myself, but... there's just something about this site that's different... or at least, used to be. maybe i'm just losing it.
from madrigle :
4/13/07 I love how you always make me the champion. :D HUGS
from madrigle :
i've always felt this . . . silly? loyalty to diaryland. Andrew doesn't even acknowledge emails from goldmembers anymore. it kinda bites. Blog spot does look really hot, I don't want the hassle of migrating my stuff over there and my pictures and all that. you know?
from harri3tspy :
I keep thinking of moving elsewhere as well. But I stay because of the community I've networked into here. I have another blog at blogspot and I read a lot of blogs there, many of which are diaryland expats, but I just don't get that same sense of community. I also find it easier to edit and redecorate at diaryland (although part of that is probably due to the fact that I've been here longer and I'm more familiar with html. Still, things seem to work over there more often. How come diaryland guestbooks have been broken for, what, a year now? The total lack of tech support here is frustrating and will eventually drive me elsewhere.
from elgan :
I really enjoyed Speaker for the Dead. I'd like to get a-hold of Xenocide so I can complete the trilogy.
from zosianicola :
Oh wow, Port Isabel----I don't know the south end of Padre Island but I like the north end very much----I have had friends and students from McAllen, and they like it the way people almost always like the places they came from----but overall my impression is that IT IS WAY HOT DOWN THERE (not yelling, just emphasizing). If I were buying a ewekend place in Texas I'd look in the Hill Country, west of Austin and northwest of San Antonio. Not East TX; friends who have moved there are horrified by the deep racism, not north TX because they get the worst of winter weather there, lots of ice and sleet; not west TX because it is dry boring dessert. We thought about Galveston and Corpus Christi before my job in SA materialized, because the TX coast is underrated, and undiscovered, ergo, cheaper than the other coasts. Port Aransas is a birder's paradise, lots of wintering birds and migration patterns go through it
from madrigle :
i've not seen a good documentary in way to long. hugs
from jammybastard :
Lickable hips -- I love it!
from jammybastard :
Well, the initial agreement was just that -- once I'd done my job, that was it. After I sent congrats, she wrote back this: "Thanks for the warm wishes. I'll stay in touch for as long as we both feel okay about it." So I suspect you're right. Problem is, as much as I'd like to see her again, it's nothing short of an appallingly awful idea. Being involved at this level is one thing; hanging around long enough for "sex" to morph into "baby" is just begging fate to bitch slap me.
from madrigle :
I'm so excited for your change! I want my change to come too. HUGS!
from zosianicola :
hip hip huzzah!
from madrigle :
yay, art museums! yay, free memberships!
from hedgehoggy :
I forgot to thank you for trying to put my mind at ease. It's nice that I'm not just seen as entertainment on D-Land.
from madrigle :
mmmmmmmm birds of paradise. I'm breaking the silence today. stay tuned. You can blame my beloved fountain pen. The paper journals have just been so alluring lately. :D
from f-i-n :
beautiful pictures!!!!
from zosianicola :
oh, I have seen that trumpet flower when travelling, but not in TX. I need something in my condo's interior patio, where there was a beautiful rich magenta wisteria that I had to yank out because it attracted too many bees----Otto was trying to eat bees----and I have too many family members allergic to bee stings. I want something that will attract butterflies and maybe hummers but not bees---
from zosianicola :
oops, no punctuation in that last note, sorry
from zosianicola :
hi zuzu we have wisteria, but not lilac (it doesn't get cold enough) and I don't know what a trumpet tree is i was surprised to see so much red-tip photinia in France last week because we have tons of that in central Texas in france there were so many beautiful tulip/crocus/daffodil gardens---we don't have bulbs in TX, I miss that about WI in CS my antique roses are the centerpiece, plus Mexican plum and yaupon holly Love your floral art pix
from hedgehoggy :
There is this terrible problem caused by our obscene love of celebs. Again, I am all for pussy pictures but pic after pic of the same pose/etc. bores me and makes me wonder what that person is here for. Yeah, there is a fine line between erotic and just plain disgusting. Look at Myspace and you'll find hundreds of girls putting up the same pictures over and over with the camera in different directions. Whatever happened to sharing what you have to say? On my Photobucket account, I have never put the same picture over and over. The world is just too self-obsessed or with too much self-esteem for my tastes. When I was 10, my biggest worry was the local cats using my sandbox for a litterbox.
from hedgehoggy :
I'm just too tired to get into a huge debate on smoking. You may be right in a few respects but I have this weird wondering as to why people feel they have a complete right to smoke in restaurants and bars. Why not just at home? When I went to Canada, the streets were free of cigarette butts. Weirded me out. Found out that people there place their butts into trash cans nicely embedded into businesses. I've been scratching my head over this for years as to why so many Americans are so bloody lazy. Sure, smokers pay for things with their taxes but they are a large problem when it comes to health care. Why should I pay for someone's health after years and years of not caring for it while telling me that he/she didn't realize it was that bad?
from madrigle :
ZUZU! Stunning show pictures. HUGS
from jammybastard :
You're a clever kitten, Zu. Remind me to listen to you more often.
from jammybastard :
I dunno. I mean what if she's already pregnant and then starts dating having only mentioned that she might like kids one day? Isn't that just kind of weird?
from elgan :
These are amazing pictures of amazing artwork. It sounds like a fascinating exhibit.
from fightn4life :
:) Thanks for the smile. Sandyz
from elgan :
I don't get it.
from aliannmil :
Oh, to be where spring has already descended in her glory. Just a few more weeks for us here and we too will know the end of the long cold winter. I must plant Blueberrys this year for they are my Darling's favorite fruit. Vegetable patches are a wonderful way to start. Beans and Peas love to crawl along any fence and fresh cucumber sandwiches with dill mayo simply delight in the heat of the summer.
from fightn4life :
Zu, did you get the e-mail I sent to you? Hoping it didn't get lost in cyber space along with my G-mail. :) Sandyz
from hedgehoggy :
William Defoe is too good and too true in one film I saw as a little kid, To Live Or Die In L.A.. It is my FAVORITE movie where he made a hell of an impression on me. Alas, another great actor is in it, the one from CSI. I forgot his name but he plays the main good guy after William Defoe ('Masters'), a money forger. He is so evil while the other is so good but how far do you go to get the bad guy? Very shocking ending!
from hedgehoggy :
Yes, I know. Ron's book has plenty of pictures from various movies he's in. Did you know William Dafoe is well-known for being hung? Ron has a great story where he just asks this question on their first moment of meeting. Oh, and Ron's got a pic of himself with Keira Knightley!
from madrigle :
Oh my lord! are those hills for real? So voluptuous. Sumptuous mounds of nakedness.
from elgan :
You take the purtiest pictures, Miss Zuzu.
from marilynstar :
I hear ya! Are you sending me lazy vibes??? That MUST be what is going on. There is no other explaination for my lack of motivation!
from madrigle :
ZUZU! I just saw your testimonial for me on flickr. I'm sitting here in public, at my coffee house, very visibly crying. Those are the MOST touching words anyone has ever said about my art, and the first time I have EVER felt like anyone really gets what my art is about. I don't know if this makes since but, I feel even more like an artist 'cause of your words. 13 thankyous P.S. Secrets of the talking Jaquar has firmly wrapped me in it's wonderful tendrils of magic. I agree the blue butterflies need to go down on canvas, or atleast for me to try. 2/10/07
from madrigle :
Ok, so even though I just finished THE best mac and cheese on the planet, cause that is exactly what fly!ng star on n0b hill in Albuquerque makes, THE best, especially since I get them to add a layer of sliced tomatoes underneath the romano shavings before it goes under the broiler. SUBLIME. So yeah, even though I just finished that, and all I want to do is go take a nap, as soon as I oppened that webpage you sent me, I was totally drooling, DROOLING it was those black bean coated dungeness claws (and I'm alergic) yep couldn't touch them with a ten foot pole. Thanks for the instant new fave site. HUGS. P.S. I'm stopping at my favorite used book store next door to check on that book. It sounds sublime. James
from madrigle :
creme de violet? is that a liquor? I'm intrigued. I did try making those little candied violets one time. They are pretty for cakes. wow, re singing you your name. that resonates somehow. Maybe that is what is wrong with our culture a precious few of us know who we are and we don't find out till were at that place in life where were already supposed to be buiding lavish careers instead of just finding our footing. hmm. HUGS p.s. the show poster is up at flickr. 1/4/07

from hedgehoggy :
Ohmahgawd! You know who Berkley Breathed is!?! I've been in love with little Opus, Binkley, Bill the Cat, Hodge-Podge, Steve, Oliver, and all the other loonies from 'Bloom County.' Oh, how I wish he'd go back to that time of making fun of Reagen and Kissinger.
from f-i-n :
I will check that out!
from hedgehoggy :
What are you talking about!?! That picture was perfect! You could see that bobcat quite easily even though it does kind of look like an overgrown housecat. Nobody believes me when I thought I saw a mountain lion near Indiana. It's too bad some people in this world think it necessary to try and tame animals such as these.
from spazs :
sweet
from hedgehoggy :
Oh, I would have LOVED to have seen the bob cat. I may not love house cats as much as people around me do but I loves me some tigers and exotics. One of my friends that came from a small India town told me how it was typical to read in the paper that someone had been attacked or killed by a tiger. Imagine that. No drive by shootings but tigers.....
from madrigle :
oh my lord those living stones are fantabulous!
from a-z-a :
oh, definately. i had planned on moving out of this place when i was still quite young, but... eventually, it just didn't happen. there are other factors as well, one of them being the anxiety about living in a city quite larger than my own, as i've never done so. that is something i would definately have to work on before i could go anywhere. and again, scared of flying, but i really want and feel the need to travel and learn. a change of scenery is starting to sound more and more uplifting.
from hedgehoggy :
What it means is that people drop me from their faves list but my sitemeter continues to show their IP addresses. It's not all the time but every now and then. It's weird because it makes me feel like I'm not good enough for them even if I write for me. Tis life, I guess but I'm trying not to look over my diary with an iron fist this year. As for marriage to you know who........wouldn't that be fun to read how it all happened thanks to Diaryland?
from zosianicola :
i never make New Year's resolutions. I have never once done that. As for the purple heart guy, isn't he gorgeous? But i am pissed that the US took his limbs. Is it true that the only reason the Iraq war is killing fewer Americans than the Viet Nam war is improved medical care in the field?
from jammybastard :
I'm smitten, as you might have guessed.
from marilynstar :
ack! can you help me fix my diary?
from sheslikefire :
Happy new year to you too bubs.xx

That Jackson Pollock site was so much fun, I have to bookmark it. Thatnks!
from f-i-n :
have a beautiful holiday
from fightn4life :
Zu, you know me better than to think I contribute all wonders in life to religion. Missionaries that would leave a five-dollar look alike bill on the table after I waited on them and it said, "Your tip for the day is God loves you" too have turned me off. What I long to do is write the strange things that have happened in my life and let others ponder what was it, miracles, happenstance, Divine Interventions, or simply shit happens. Some things I will write about I am feel are a mothers intuition, others I do believe were angels in many forms. I want to write about them for my children to read someday before my thoughts become cluttered dust that gets lost in the winds of age. Never would I feel comfortable cramming religion down anyone's throat, I have true stories that I want to tell in written form, what others make of them is what this life is all aboutchoice. Sandyz

I loved that book and I found that line similarly arresting.
from boann7 :
yummmm.. those mushrooms are beautiful... what a lush photo..
from a-z-a :
thank you, as always, for your kind words and inspiration. i seem to be a bit more... stable, if that's possible. robbed of sleep, i can't come up with much else to say in respect to my situation, other than i am trying. one day at a time. lovely mushrooms, btw. i miss spring.
from hedgehoggy :
I'm just thankful no one went on the floor. You asked and I'll tell you that sometimes women, when they have to go, they just go. In sinks, showers, and baths women just confuse me as to why they need to pee everywhere. Then again, I love the fresh air when I pee on a tree.
from madrigle :
oh my lord! The boku behind those mushrooms! Trully a sublime sublime photo. HUGS. James
from elgan :
Those are stunning photos, especially the mushrooms. Enjoy Thanksgiving.

Check the hotel business lounge. Most of them have printers available and you can use a flash drive to access them through the hotel computer. You are way more exciting than I. I spent my B-Day shopping for a humidifier. Break a leg tomorrow.
from fightn4life :
Zu, I loved your entry, "Derailment" I connected with your writing, at least the way I read it connected. I am guilty of so much you wrote about, been having weird dreams and trying to find words to capture those elusive thoughts. I work too much, been too unhappy for much to long. I am sifting though my life's belongings as the days become shorter. Change is in movement, timing in the hand of fate. Sandyz
from jammybastard :
Yeah, I thought about you (what with the name and all). Absolutely astounding show.
from pfirsich :
I thought you were gonna say UNnatural leader. I personally am definetly an UNnatural leader, cause everything I like better than that. A virgo is the ideal second man! Anyway. Nothing as horrifying as having to be the leader. Of course I wanna be the follower. Who relaxes, doesnt really pay attention, just moves their body, and just helps the other one. Of course I dont wanna be the leader. Please.
from pfirsich :
Not afraid of a train wreck on a sunday...that sounded interesting.
from f-i-n :
I know what you mean. I'm allergic to all kinds of fabric---not to mention detergent (my mom only uses ivory)
from fightn4life :
Same thing here all Hell broke loose and I had too many things to do and didn't get started on the writing. Last year on this day, I drove my Blazer off the mountain in the wake of extremely long hours. I feel like I am spinning in the hamster's wheel. Haven't even started getting my things packed up for an impending move, somewhere, somedayall that is a blur and feels so far away from today. Maybe this weekend I will get the chance to get to the writing. Sandyz

from madrigle :
you make me blush! thanks. Yeah, I love that blurred guitar shot. It was a really tough situation. REALLY dim lights due to some technical problem. I got to use the freeze flash mode, it's called something different which I don't remember, but it's for use in low light slow shutter speed situations to freeze the action. It was SOOOOO fun. And I was really proud of my framing. I typically frame shots in the computer after the fact, but these were in camera framing. How are you??? Don't you just love capuring reflections in water?
from hg2006 :
Your question makes me wonder if this is the first year of my life I've even pondered taking a risk for love.

I am SO bad with computers! Ack! The baby is coming along well. I AM SO DONE! I can't take it anymore! Jamie and I are actually going to the mall today to walk around to try and start it up. I'll keep you posted!! <3 <3

i know what you mean... it is quite sad to think about all the nature that's been replaced by manufactured buildings, roads, etc. i'm sure if i had to actually live in the city, i'd be homesick for my little nature-laden hole quite quickly. :)

I suppose I will leave Zuzu, I have been making plans in my mind over the last few days. Our world had grown silent, although I haven't told him, there is nothing left to say. Sandyz
from elgan :
Yes, zu, if I end up not submitting my v.v. essay (or fictionalized account) to the contest, I will definitely publish it here.
from madrigle :
zuzu, potato soup is a family tradition . . . here is how we make it. 2 baking potatoes, 1 medium onion, 4 to five ribs of celery. dice all to uniform size, chunky or fine depending on your tastes. barely cover with water, simmer till tender. you can use chicken broth for a richer version but traditionally we did not do it this way in the family. This is the tricky part, as traditionally we didn't make a roux but a past of water and flour, about a 1/4 cup of flour and 3/4 cup of water. Stir into simmering liquid vigourously or you will end up with clumps let simmer GENTLY stiring often for 10 minutes so the flour will not taste raw. Add a can of milk, salt and pepper to taste. Sometimes I finish it with a 1/2 cup of heavy cream in addition, but that's not how the family does it either. This is the families traditional sore throat soup, other people get chicken soup, we get potatoe soup with plenty of salt and black pepper in it. HUGS, james

I've let my self be rapped in the arms of the lord of the rings, fellowship of the rings, This morning I creacked it open at 4:30, yesterday at midnight. Ohwell, atleast it keeps the bothersome thoughts at bay for a bit. HUGS
from boann7 :
ok , go take another look now... let me know if you like this ending better =)
from boann7 :
wise words from a gardener..i may go back and prun my poem a bit, because i love the way you think and that is so true... what bud wants to be such a fragile flower. =)
from boann7 :
ummm a hundred different words for green..... i love that =)
from madrigle :
10/11/06 That last paragraph, "--to dream about wet hidden places in earth blaketed wth soft nettles . . ." the whole thing, is one of the most eloquent, beautiful, evocative passages I have read in a great while. How long have you and Ed been together again?
from aliannmil :
Just wanted to say hi, haven't left a note in a while. It's nice seing you here. ~Peace~ alison
from fightn4life :
Your day sounded wonderful, minus the pain from YogaYes, I am again giving the novel writing a go. I have my plot, (kind of) title, an idea that I came up with during a longggg night at work. I am going to try something different than I have done beforewe'll see how it works out. Novemberyep I can do it, I can do it. Sandyz
from sweet-lilly :
A momentary layout, which has gone on for far too long... Any love of Leonard comes from Fairport Convention ^_^ whee! The layout should be fixed soon, I'm totally on it.
from janegamma :
Aww, and you had such a yummy Friday planned too! But sleeping is also yummy. Perhaps it was more meditation that absorption/expression.
from madrigle :
hehe! it is kinda fun. How goes the lavender essence making? Hugs, 10/4/06
from f-i-n :
Bike boys are hot. But skaters are hotter!
from indigomonkey :
and don't forget to keep in a dark place and swish it around daily
from madrigle :
uhg, i was shocked at the recent auction too. lavender extract as in flavoring? for classical french desserts? yeah, that sounds spot on, except I'd use the whole flower head and not just 48 individual flowers. HUGS.
from elgan :
That makes perfect sense to me. Plant infusions (for lack of the scientific word) like chlorophyl etc. are alcohol soluble (they're also oil soluble, but alcohol works faster). You could also warm the vodka slightly, and it'll work faster.
from spazs :
Yeah...if you want to make oil for magics, like rose oil, you also have to put rose blossoms into the oil, then let it sit, then excange the blossoms. (Didnt really work though when I tried it...)
from madrigle :
mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm smojey blues and ochre yellows
from fightn4life :
Oh myhow absolutely gorgeous. Sandyz
from indigomonkey :
oops. I should have used the word 'one' rather than the pronoun 'you.' Heh. I see what you mean about your angle. Being sleep deprived and now in school mode, I was really responding to the Abbey quote, and not your reflection. But I *love* your reflections, especially the reflection of this tree and mountain in your latest photograph~
from indigomonkey :
As a seaweed slime eater (because I enjoy the taste, no, really), in my heart of my beliefs, I think it is more important what you believe about what you eat, and *how you feel* when you're eating that makes the biggest difference. If I didn't have a full time job, I know I'd eat much more raw and living food when I do. While I have experienced significant weight loss while eating in that manner, the most profound difference was in mood (more centered and happy), the greater amount of energy, and the need for much less sleep than 7-8 hours. I like all of those things. Admittedly an equal reason why I prefer that path is the ecological that the cumulative effect of shifting to such an eating plan makes on the earth as well as spreading ym money to small producers of food, rather than corporations. All in all, I agree with the Abbey, however there are very few people who have attained that level of understanding. One such person was Ram Dass' mentor and guru, whose name I do not recall. I doubt that there is a western white person who embodies such a consciousness. I disagree with him that maybe the otherworldly new age types are more obsessed. Look in the mainstream magazines and television ads. There are tonsof ads for diet drugs, books etc. The obvious new age people are really easy targets. Not like they don't deserve though.
from hedgehoggy :
Hmmmmmmmm.........exercise is only good when you know what you are doing. Took me a long time to get the motions right and to know what my body reacts to. You can do 1,000s of sit-ups with no effect. Just take 30 minutes of cardio with 30 minutes of weight-training for the best results. It just takes time.
from spazs :
Yeah...I think its mind over matter-eventually. But we arent that strong yet. I mean, true yogis should also be able to smoke and such...maybe they dont bother. Besides, who say bratwurst isnt devine? Should junk food also have its place? Its also devine, isnt it?
from fightn4life :
Loved this pondering entree...makes one think losing weight is a lost art. I'll not stop looking. :) Sandyz
from elgan :
The people who are most defensive about their diets, the ones who are overweight and browbeat you about how "well" they eat, may be telling the truth. But it's not just quality that counts here. You can be eating the very best food that mother nature has to offer, and yet still be eating too much of it. That is smething they haven't yet worked out in the equation. Tofu is a high-fat food. It's good for you, but eat enough of it, you'll still get fat.
from indigomonkey :
somebody in that story is smoking crack.
from madrigle :
LMAO, LMAO, LMAO!!!!!!!!!!!! I swear this is award worthy writing. can't stop giggling! Hugs! 9/28/06
from f-i-n :
Thanks for the jeans advice....I checked out the website and saw the wardrobe of my dreams (underline dreams). I guess I'll have to be good and ask santa for xmas.
from hedgehoggy :
Nice of you to be the first. I was just playing around in my sleep as to what would make a good quiz. All men are great in their dreams as they say. Was it Freud? Definitely curious as to which ones you missed on the quiz. Must go. The cat needs attention. She's called "Diva" for a reason. Maybe another quiz tomorrow, but harder.
from zosianicola :
Hi zuzu someday when we're both in the red hat club can you tell me your true identity? I feel my life would be better if I really knew you------zosia
from a-z-a :
i know exactly what you mean... you have such a way with words. :)
from jammybastard :
You may say "I told you so" when my mouth is too stuffed with genitalia to respond.
from sparkspark :
Sending him a poem about a bug sounds like a perfect response. A bug, or a worm. Either way. I really enjoyed this entry. XO Violet
from reader1209 :
You are so way better off without that guy. He sounds like one of those guys who has to put people down in order to feel better about himself.
from jammybastard :
Your faith in me is unnerving. I wish I shared it.
from fightn4life :
I learned a lot from your last entry Zuzu, even as one lets go of a relationship there seems to be a tiny thread that stays connected for a period of time or in some cases a life time. When the thread is pulled memories arise and we might feel the desire to connect in a small way, curious? Or maybe we enjoy the past at times colliding with the present for comparison. For many of us letting go is very difficult even when we know it is the right decision, there seems to be this internal nudgingwhat if..or thank goodness. BTW, I dropped in a dollar for therapy then added one for myself. Sandyz
from indigomonkey :
I never liked him anyway. good riddance to bad rubbish. Here's a dollar. Better yet, lemme buy you an Irish coffee.
from marilynstar :
"What weird and toxic things to say to a relative stranger. I wonder if he was trying to flatter me by telling me I should feel pride about influencing his life or it was a back handed insult. Its really hard to tell, isnt it? This guy doesnt even know me and probably never really did. So I sent him a poem I wrote about a bug and havent heard from him since." You're so cute!! GEEZE though! What an ass! What does he honestly expect from you? Sounds like he's just playing some sort of weird game, hoping that the end results makes him feel better about himself. GOOD for you for not taking the bait! Insane
from elgan :
Look at it this way. You did manage to quit smoking, no easy accomplishment. Did he?
from boann7 :
9/16 umm i liked this entry... im still thinking on it and my old relationships. knowing if you like yourself when you are with them.. yes i like that ... sort of like in Its as good as it gets with jack saying .. you make me want to be a better man.
from janegamma :
I always liked that bit from Accidental Tourist too. An ex-boyfriend of mine said once that a good relationship brings out the best in both people, or words to that effect. Don't be too hard on yourself about the email...I think many people, myself included, would find the temptation too hard to resist, under those circumstances. I really enjoyed the part about the bug poem.
from zuzus-petals :
To "le-fart": I'm not pissed at all, that wasn't the point. I can't for a second imagine who I would be if I said to you (or anyone) that you should feel "proud" to have had an impact on MY life. There are people who have had a lasting impact on MY life (several of them have diaries here on diaryland - Cassie, Alison, fightn4life, to name a few), I am humbled by the ways they have touched my life. When I go to tell them that/how they have made a difference to me, I don't tell them that they should feel proud, I thank them and convey how grateful *I* feel - I don't tell them how *they* should feel. And besides all that, pride goes before the fall. - Zu
from fightn4life :
What an awesome looking puplove the eyes. Sandyz
from marilynstar :
Hey. I've been meaning to get at you for a couple days, but just haven't gotten around to it! I just wanted to thank you so much for your last comment. It really meant a lot to me and got me thinking a lot too. You're right about not counting on one thing to make you feel "whole". You just made a lot of sense and it really helped me. So, thank you again.
from spazs :
Haha, it is marge!
from hedgehoggy :
Nice long note. Totally agree with you on some things but disagree on others. I'm just one of those that doesn't like history tweaked to suit others. By the way, that spider is an orb weaver, a female. The male, a less pretty one, might spend time catching something for his mate, the lovely yellow lady only to keep his prey alive. Girls like things fresh. Never seen an orb weaver like that in real life. All we've got is wolf spiders and garden spiders of the large variety.
from f-i-n :
When I looked for a place to blog, I picked Diaryland because I'm a geek and I like to tweak everything myself. Myspace is more user-friendly for some people (you can find code/templates online). I like seeing how people are connected through their friends on myspace, along with their interests, etc. It's fun. I have the same blog there too (feel free to befriend me!)
from f-i-n :
I send messages, much like you send notes here. It's fun to read other people's pages and see what you have in common.
from f-i-n :
Cool spider pix! I was just talking about this with my friend. I wish that yearbooks were more like Myspace. Instead of a photo and a stupid quote (if you're a senior) you could list all the things you love best. I also like talking to people online that I would never meet in person. I'm sooo shy.
from fightn4life :
What an awesome spider...great photo! Sandyz
from wordsofmine :
Kewl photo of the spider.
from janegamma :
What a charming spider; I can't see Marge yet, though I shall continue trying...all I can see is Monty Burns, somehow. I'm probably looking at it backward.
from harri3tspy :
I love the spider photo. We have loads of them hanging off our house at the moment. They're enormous and beautiful. I don't think I've ever seen them here before.
from elgan :
That is an amazing photo of the spider. I've seen a similar one hanging from its web in the garden of the Victorian museum in town in past years. Thank you so much, I really dig the close up.
from janegamma :
Hello, and I insist on returning the favour...because the correctness of your description of Leonard's voice (esp black licorice) was absolute. I love your intro entry (will the whales forgive us).
from reader1209 :
Hi Zu, I have not only read that "..Killed with our families" book...I own it. After I watched the movie I voraciously read everything I could get my hands on. It still amazes me that it was not a more well covered issue when it was happening, yet paparrazi will fly to Namibia to wait for Angelina Jolie's water to break...go figure.
from madrigle :
When I was little we were driving on top of North Star Mesa in the Gila National Forest and I was the frist to spot the huge heard of elk we popped into except I couldn't get my animals straint and started yelling " Camels! Camels!" :D Hugs
from aliannmil :
I forgot to mention how much I have enjoyed your pictures of late. I would LOVE to add the tree pictured in "Bon Tempe Again" for my tree collection. It isn't dead but I must admit I'm seeking life lately and it is uniquely displayed for the narrow wall space. Sorry work is a drag. It's such a large part of our life that it can overshadow the good stuff and suck the fun right out of things. I hope you are able to extract yourself this time, I'm all for rebirth, in fact I highly recommend it. ~ I wish you Peace ~ alison

from a-z-a :
are those wild turkeys? :D
from elgan :
Oh, cool!
from indigomonkey :
Yeah. I was too tired to put the email in text last night. Bleary-eyed for sure. Thanks!
from sheslikefire :
Not so much. But you'd have to be silly to write about someone's boyfriend on the intertron. However, she *is* pretty, and more his type than me. I feel a fight to the death coming on... ;o)
from elgan :
Such beautiful photos, Zu. Lovely.
from sheslikefire :
You're the best online person ever. Also, I just found her myspace by accident. It's such a kick in the pants.

"Theyre toxic, demotivating, petty, small-minded people who have nothing better to do than crawl up into other peoples business and complain and bitch and whine and stir up petty shit." sounds exactly like my co-workers,, although my job is far from fullfilling... which definately leads me to believe i should be actively searching for a new place of employment.
from a-z-a :
i'd have to say i'm in complete agreement with you, after having wasted two days on that garbage myself. i knew it was horrible, but after having suffered the effects of it first hand, it's become crystal clear... truly an ugly, evil, vile drug indeed, and i refuse to become entangled in that mess. and yes, i see you do have an opinion on the matter, but it's obviously a genuine, honest and knowing one. i'm just relieved that i still had enough wits about me to stop with this garbage before it went too far. thank-you so much for your concern and support... it's definately appreciated. ♥
from indigomonkey :
So sorry Zu about the ickyness.
from madrigle :
OH zuzu, I'm so sorry. I know what you mean about having a seemingly ideal job and hating it though. you know what is best for you. I'm sure you will find something even better. HUGS.
from f-i-n :
Thanks for telling me about the movie. I will look for it.
from indigomonkey :
well...I was thinking that I'd get her the teenie greenie... maybe that's too small? She's not tiny, but she is a small dog. I wonder if I have to take the huge one away from her.?? Sorry to hear about your friend!
from fightn4life :
You are not an awful hostlook at the memories you will some day laugh about. I'd spend a day biking in your world, even if I ended up at the ER, it would be worth it. I will reply to your e-mail soon, I am on a four day run at work. Ugh. I couldn't sleep it is 1:30 in the am, decided to stop by Diary Land. You brought up some awesome points and so much that ties many unanswered questions together. I believe so much you wrote is true never thought about it in that light. Loved you story about your friend and the family, what inspirationI thought about them at work yesterday. Sandyz
from aliannmil :
It's not you, it's the evil bike. I had one eat my wrist not so long ago if you recall. They are hungry twisted creatures not unlike a pit nice and smooth one minute and a tangled wreck the next. Hope your Guest wasn't horribly mangled. PS I'm with you on the end of relationship depression, workout look fabulous thing. Wish I could get with the middle of a relationship, happy, workout look fabulous thing. *Sigh* reached my goal only to let it slip through my fingers when I wasn't looking (at what I was eating). Peace ~ali
from marilynstar :
OMG I love your pics from today!! The water one is beautiful! It could totally be sold as a screen saver :-)
from madrigle :
I think the analysis of your drams in my comments space is probably spot on. It makes since to me. I used to have 'movie' dreams, lately my dreams have been shrowded in mist, I did have a troubling one though, I was witnessing nazi medical experiments.... needless to say I couldn't go back to sleep after that. Dreams have been a interesting part of my life. I was able to lucid dream early on in my life, then around 2nd or 3rd grade my nightmares of nuclear holocausts became so traumatic I willed myself to stop dreaming, or atleast not to recall them. It was late in highschool when I started recalling my dreams again, but I don't think they have ever been as distinct as my early dreams and i've certainly never been able to lucid dream again. I do often have an observer self, and a participant self in my dream. the observer self is like the part of my brain that is viewing the dream but has no control over it. Anyways..... hugs
from madrigle :
oh zuzu! I love it! very nice job. HUGS

I love the heater, peeing in comfort. That was slightly inapproiate but I stand by what i said.
from spazs :
I like the glass box devider! The former tiles are ugly! I just wonder what would be my ideal bathroom color. Maybe a real dark green or something...green like a deep pond...ah. I love your dog design, but if youre gonna change it into something I like less, then I must curse you. I hope you understand.
from fightn4life :
I love the picture...BTW...I forgot to tell you I like your new look...love the little photo of your pup, entire page is a wonderful look. :) Sandyz
from madrigle :
I'm so glad you have ms. honey bee!
from madrigle :
Holy shit that is a great dream (both) but especially the executioner. You should totally develope that into a short story or more. I LOVE THAT, you could make it a twist on near death experiences or something. You have no idea how much I love the concept of your dream. HUGS.
from fightn4life :
I have the e-mail saved...I'll send it to you (e-mail) Saturday on my day off. I think I saved it. :) I LOVE the picture of the sky you took. Clouds are awesome. Sandyz
from indigomonkey :
OK. A classical way to look at your dream would be to see the "I" who dies, as the ego, the basic personality you identify with on a mundane level with your temporal hopes and fears, albeit comfortable in this identification enough to not want to really leave them. The executioner can be a "next" or perhaps more vast, greater identity that seems so foreign to you as to be identified as "other." Not only that, but perceived as destroyer. Perhaps the known ego is meeting her greater self, and instead of being frightened by what was previously thought to be the death of the self, of the identity, love occurs, the recognition of a self love that bridges the gap from the personality to the soul. Thus it proves to be a sign that in fact there is no death of the self, only expansion into realms and identities previously unperceived, and unperceivable until some kind of understanding came about......just a guess.
from elgan :
Both dreams are amazing. I hope the second one comes true, at least.
from fightn4life :
Zuzu, you take the most awesome pictures. I keep coming back to look at them. Thanks for the comment on my entry. I do not believe in any way I was a part of Divine interventionI was where I was suppose to be at this point in time. I still can not express the weight and negative feelings that have lifted from me. I tried four times to write that entry, it was such awe inspiring life event that I still feel strange. When it all fell in place and the puzzle exposed a life path, I wondered if it was real. I have come to the conclusion is must be I could not in one moment be rid years of disharmony with the simple act of "send." We'll see if the feelings return, it has been a week now and I feel at peace with myself and life, even with all the "normal" ups and downs. What an awesome feeling. Sandyz
from elgan :
I discovered mojitos in Cuba. Mmmm....
from madrigle :
LOL, Hah! TRAFFIC! HAH, CARROTS! Maybe bush should eat more carrots. What about, and this is my own personal party fantasy for 'someday' a Venetian Masque? As in masquerade? You could hire carnival performers and people have to wear elaborate masks at the least, and everyone can dance you and your man can rent elaborate period costumes heheheehh! HUGS darling. Your painting is ready, I just have to get it mailed. HUGS.
from fightn4life :
Silly Zuzu, not have your quests come as a celebration in age but representing some thing awesome about each year. I wanted number 6 not to be 6 years of age but to be dressed in a fashion from 1970. A bit of music to honor each year too would be awesome. Just a thought. Sandyz
from indigomonkey :
Cheese. The answer is cheese. People have to come as their favorite cheese. Better yet, they have to come *acting*/*behaving* as a cheese...probably you should make a list of cheese to choose from. Similar to the fish idea, obviously.
from reader1209 :
Hi zuzus, thanks for the note and as far as your theory goes...you may be right. Have you heard some are now thinking that he's just one of those guys who likes to confess? P.S. Whenever your birthday is...Have a happy one!

people could come as different philosophers. just imagine the platos talking to the kants talking to the de bouvoirs.. or people could come as the cosmos or gods of the cosmos or gods throughout time (jesus talking to zeus talking to anubis
from fightn4life :
I have racked my mind all week trying to come up the most awesome theme for your 42nd. I thought about having a party that represents the year you were born to present invited guests could pick a number from 1 to 41 and that would be the year they represented. You of course my dear would be the honored 42nd. Like a time capsule unveiled in human form. Wish I could be there I would want to pick number 6. That would be the year I would love to bring forth again for just one night. I might be late but I had to get my idea to you. Just a cazy one but fun to think about. Sandyz
from madrigle :
oooooooooo how about 42 feet of slippin' slide at the local dog park, and frozen beverages on dry ice in coolers.
from aliannmil :
Fingerpainting!! Throw the party as you would for a child (entering your second childhood). This opens the door for all sorts of fun including dressing up if you like. I'm sorry I won't be able to come to help celebrate, no matter what you choose it will be spectacular I'm sure. Hugs,~alison
from marilynstar :
I'm in the midst of trying to think of something fantastic for you to do! And also..WHO NEEDS BATHING ANYWAY?! I think the hygenially challenged like us should unite and protest this need to bathe more than once a week!
from non-fuckabl :
"Let go in big bad way", HAHAHAhahaha. I think that will come, but its too early yet I think. I think it will come, but later. Maybe also not all at once but in bite sizes.
from indigomonkey :
Fish theme, and all day event. Reminds me of the film, A Fish Named Wanda. Mystery. Murder. Mayhem. Perhaps it should involve the food chain, a "Survivors" kind of contest and a prize. Maybe some kind of trivia that two people have to answer when they meet and ovbiously at some point one person will have "eaten" the other contestants. The Clown Fish is referee and doesn't have to play. She's kind of like one of those rodeo clowns. Or a version of that silly game where you'd put the name and a description of a fish on someone's back and they have to guess what kind they are by asking other people questions.
from indigomonkey :
It sounds too simple to have people come dressed as their favorite poet, or poem ...or possibly punk band member...but why not? I like dressing as one's favorite poet though... I know how much you like silliness and all that isn't so silly.
from hedgehoggy :
So, now someone is daring enough to show some love to "Hitchhiker's Guide To the Galaxy?" Funny. I spent so many years looking at that odd cover of a book until I read it late last year. Just okay but it's certainly not something to forget thanks to that cover of a world sticking its tongue out at ya.
from madrigle :
LOL, i so love your gardener! I'm thinking on the theme I am! I'm so not good at this kind of thing. I may inlist help.
from madrigle :
I did have a great time. I always do with him. I love LOVE love great conversation. I'm also like soooooooo fuckin horny too though, and that didn't happen, meh. Dinner and conversation and then goodbyes. Which is all well and good, and wholesome and it's been like I don't know, I think like 3 weeks since I saw him maybe a month, and fuck it just reconfirmed to me how much I enjoy his company, and how FUCKING HOT HE IS. OH my GAHD, someone pass the fucking vapors. I so hope I'm thinking with my above the belt head on this one. good lord I'm vulgar. hehhe, I'm a vulgarian.
from marilynstar :
I just read your comment from my last entry. Zuzu, why don't you live here with me so you can make me feel better ALL the time? Telling me that about your sister really made me feel like maybe there IS something I can do and be successful in without stressing through the rest of college. If you have any recommendations or anything, PLEASE let me know b/cI feel lost

Oh what a wonderful picture of Big Ben.
from aliannmil :
I always forget how close we are in age (although I lead the way by a little). Hm, meaning of the universe aye? Have to ponder that a bit. My first impulse is to suggest you tie a string to each guest as they arrive to demonstrated the connectedness of everything but I suspect that would be combersome and a bit of a party buster. Hmmm. Think, Think, Think, let me go have some honey and get back to you. ~alison

I lived in Brandon for a year, the city two hours west of Winnipeg. It was a small town. We used to go to Winnipeg for our culture and entertainment, to hear the symphony and to see movies. There's something about small towns.

Zuzu, you're right, more time to live my life. The changes I made so far at work, (forgot to tell about them) was I let go of all over time on night shift. I am working days only. I was on four committees, I let go of two that were time consuming and had a ton of paper work. The plant managers were understanding and ask I help with the AIB audit until they find someone else. Now I have reduced the pressure and got completely away from the night boss I do not mesh well with. Okhe is an ass. I am hoping this week and next will be the last of 50 to 60 hours a week and I'll be able to live with 48 hours a week. I do believe we can take the cut in pay by me not working extra on nights, plus I'll add more years to my life with less stress. I think I'll too be as productive with fewer hours than I am or in the least the same. Being tired and stressed brings production down a bit. Thanks for the comments on my lay out, I am still working on and off on my page. Still needs work but in the least it is back up and running adaptable to most browsers, I hope. I am glad your home is coming to life, (not the rats) Sandyz
from marilynstar :
I completly hear you about rejoicing over cleaning a room that has been so hideously messy for so long! I recently cleaned my bedroom, and honestly, it took me THREE DAYS to do it! It was DISGUSTING! But afterwards, I felt SO good and no one would understand!
from hedgehoggy :
Interesting. I never thought of the possibility of people inflating numbers. For more funding? There is a huge number of "autistic kids" but why have I not seen any? Then again, some have been known to abuse the drugs given while there are many that don't even need them. Autism is such a huge debate but interesting while many are talking about our environmental conditions as a source. Damn those that think there is no global warming.
from fightn4life :
Zuzu, I too have always been a survivor addict, never missed a show and acted like a fool screaming at the TV when someone I like got the big boot. I hope your Ed can get on the show, how exciting to watch him knowing he is your guy. I too have been in a quandary about my work life, so much is going on and yes life is flying by faster than I can take grab o ti and catch a day for me. Don hasn't been drinking, (a matter of time?) but I am grateful for the time I have not concerned if I need to walk into abyss to keep sane. He says he will do any thing to keep this marriage together, and again I told him I have faith he will. Why cut his heart and scream liar. Glad the quake was a small one, I have never felt one, not something I find fascination with enough to wish the ground would shake. Take care my friend, don't be so elusive. I've missed you. Sandyz

Hey. This is Jocelyn [zap-jocelyn]. This is my new diary, check it out if you want to. Toodles.
from boann7 :
just thought id say hello. glad your back. a tragic little fish prison.. lol.. ok that made me smile.
from marilynstar :
Yeah I abandoned the whole private entry idea and just posted it. I have nothing to be ashamed of. So, yeah...that last entry was supposed to be my private one.
from marilynstar :
Hey I wrote my private entry, but I don't know how to make it so you can see it...do u know?
from boann7 :
thanks.. i sent it to the one i wrote it about and from what he said.. it pretty much rocked his day.
from sheslikefire :
Probably... However, if you want a good ol' fishy time, that's where it's at.
from fightn4life :
You made National News, what a heat wave you are having. {{Gasps for air}} Glad to see you made it home safe and sound and had an enjoyable trip. Hummakes me want to travel too. September, one way or the other I am beating path even if it is only for a vacation. Sandyz
from sheslikefire :
Man, london aquarium sucks. Plymouth aquaruim is the place to be...
from madrigle :
I so covet our dland banter. LOL about the 'green eyed man' pic. That so would have rocked, hell, even just you trying rocks. New, regarding green eyed man, Leslie, his friend, younger then me, the one that found out she has cancer, had her mainline installed saturday, and she's having gobs more tests, and she can't drink anymore once chemo starts, they went out partying last night, and her fiance is REProposing to her thursday, and it's this huge event and he designed the reengagement ring himself and of course Not-green-eyed-man is envolved in all of this, I mean she's his best friend, so yeah, there's not that much time for me this week. Which is fine, not ideal, but fine. And I mean what a great quality right? to be so supportive to your friends in a time of great need. So far Habibi's family is fine. So far. The brother, sister-in-law and two nieces are in a northern beirut subburb, his mom is in the south visiting her sister, we don't think she is near hesboulah activity, but you never no. His hometown is actively being bombed BUT his house, where his father is at is not close to town proper, ancient, and very thick walled, not that that would matter against Israel's arsenal. The state department has just been saying for days, mantra like, that they have to make it to the embassy to be evacuated, people are killed daily by bombings on the road his mother would have to take to get to beirut. So that has not been an option. This news of american busses rounding up citizens in the south to get them to evacuation points has been the first glimmer of hope in an otherwise very disinchanted with our state department situation. (the u.n. has actively been evacuating people from other countries from the town the mom is in for DAYS, BUT your home country has to REQUEST this be done. Of course, the US, has not requested this of the UN. BLEH. I'm so glad water genesis has turned into a full sized composition, and just think you will have in your possession, shortly, one of the studies for it. :D So, yeah, green eyed man is on my mind but in a totally non-spazzy capacity. I can't wait to spend more time with him. I'm so glad I was feeling more confidant this time around. :D HUGS to you!
from madrigle :
LOL! paddington. It's a sign. On my way to dinner with Not-Green-eyed-man. Wish me luck. :D HUGS
from madrigle :
Dearest Mr. Finley, I found your letter touching and warming to this ignorant boys icy for teddy bears, heart. I feel my humblest appologies are in order, and realize now it's all been me, i'm the one that didn't allow such a wonderful relationship to form with the t-bears that have come into my life. Thank you for not hating and opening this once ignorant boys eyes.

I don't know if it's energy. I'm just trying to fit in as much as I can. Frankly I could probably use a break to recharge the batteries. But then I think of all those wonderful people I wouldn't be naked with. It's a hard habit to break.
from fightn4life :
Oh Lord Zuzu this makes my problems seem so insignificant. What horror right here in the US, no ones fault but natures fury which none of us have control over. Thanks for sharing. Sandyz

cool, click on the last 2, err one of them, there are 5 more very similar at flickr. I'm needing the first, but you can have a water genesis, for shipping. :D Also have a 'helios' series that is not photographing well at all. I'm going for surface of the sun. Well, that is what I always want to do... write for myself that is, but I just feel like people get annoyed and I like people reading my diary, giving me advice, and talking to me and stuff. So, I don't want to annoy them until they leave. You know? That's what I'm like, now that I only have like two friends. I like when people talk to me. Well, toodles and thanks for the note. -Jocelyn

you know, that wording was niggling at me as SOON as wrote it. But I don't know, I was tired, it was late, I just wanted to get it posted? I know, excuses. Thanks for clarifying my inner voice. I agree, cherished IS my hearts desire. I do believe I'll go edit. Hugs. James
from zosianicola :
Zu, is Secret a male or a female? What do you think about dog gender-specific traits? I have a friend who thinks females are too independent to bond to humans as tightly as males----never thought about this, though I've had sweet males and aloof females---with exceptions of course
from fightn4life :
Wow, those eyes...can't stop looking into his eyes. Sandyz
from madrigle :
are his eyes really the color of sky? award winning photogragh. HUGS. P.S. It's raining cats and dogs in the desert (woohoo) not-green-eyed-man asked me to bring food over so we can have wine and watch the storms from his loft. (this makes madrigle a happy camper, a spazzy happy camper, but still a happy camper)
from madrigle :
yes, you are so very right. It all makes since. I"m feeling more balanced. I realized a few minutes after my rants that I match a whole hell of a lot in what he says he wishes for. Also got a enthusiastic text message from him soon after. I'm a fucking spaz. SPAZ i tell you. relationships make me a nervous wreck. I so need a chill pill. I mean really. I am just WAY to much of a spaz for my own good. hahahahahah. Thanks for being my d-land voice of reason. HUGS.
from indigomonkey :
Thank you. I love you too. I cried. I'm done for now. Would you like to buy an urn?
from fightn4life :
Hi Zuzu, I am still so over whelmed I am at a loss for words. Yes this is the daughter that was supposed to get married to the kid's dad; he took his life two weeks before the wedding. He shot himself, how horrible. As best I could get last night from Don in his drunken stupor was the results show she took anti depressants, not her prescription and drank. Some one smothered her. Just like that someone took the breath of a mother of three. Don is passed out tonight on the couch, he was like that when I got home from work. Beer and liquor bottles just lying on the floor next to the trash. I can not believe this is happening. Sandyz
from indigomonkey :
Thank you...that DID feel better. Just reading it was liberating. I suppose that Ultimately, I am a chicken, I don't stand up for myself. I don't think it is PMS about the crying thing, except that I feel like crying right now too. I wish I were as cool as cucumber and articulate in my analysis of a situation as you are...I think I can be on behalf of others, just not myself.... I was pleased about my co-worker's chime in for me, and I respect her ability to provide service (sell urns if that's her thing) and yet draw a line where obviously one should be drawn. I suppose that truly, I don't want to work here, continue to that is, knowing that my manager is a snakey personality, (SORRY SNAKES!) and sneaky. This is one of several recent sneaky things she's done that are greed driven and put me ina poor light/space. Thanks for your support. It is well received and needed.!!!
from zap-jocelyn :
Thanks! I love it too. Haha. I think it's a little too dark though, but oh well, it looks good.
from f-i-n :
I love ferris wheels! They look so cool on film.
from zap-jocelyn :

Get a snake. We had a house with rats, then we got a snake. We didn't get the snake on purpose, he just moved in, and lived in the crawl spaces and the attic. Some kind of grass snake. I'm sure you could get something harmless that eats rodents. i don't know California taxonomy so I don't know what species to suggest. Would Secret Agent put up with a snake?

Sanity, i figure, isn't always a good thing. Sanity implies logic and linear thought. I'm never one to go from a to b. More like a to r, to d, to l, chill a bit at q, go back to r (because I liked a shirt over there that and I wanna wear that to b), to h, to b. Make sense much? What're your thoughts? xx
from boann7 :
for love... everything.
from madrigle :
Wow, I read the rest of your entry, but the main part of my brain was focused on this very question, at the end of your entry, which served to refocuse me and pull my whole brain back to it. I"m not sure, I know I have risked, I risked falling for a man, that I knew from the first date would one day leave me for a woman, 3 years later it happened. But I had fallen for him, and it was dumb and stupid, but, well, I've loved. It's sick, but I hope I get the chance to be that dumb again, someday. Speaking of, the green eyed man, dosn't have green eyes! Yep, contacts. HEY, it was a bar, it was dark. He's still just GORGEOUS and sooooooooooooooo fucking fun.
from fightn4life :
A rising career I had going at Walt Disney world in management at the Grand Floridian Resort, years of built up benefits and a great retirement program, a home I was on the verge of buying in a neighborhood that would have more than been double in worth today, tripled? I left the sunshine state with three kids and a grandchild in tow hoping for unconditional love with a man that is now my hubby. A bit risky at the time going to a Northern State that I knew no one and little about hubby, not to mention no job. What was I thinking???? That is only one risky unbelievable move I have madebelieve me it gets worst, and all in the name of "love" my kids or a manwhat the hell was I thinking?. Now I am depressed. :( Sandyz
from zosianicola :
Hi zu, we are <b>this</b>close to going with Boris and Natasha. Still considering Otto and Adelaide (Lady) and the kids who love JD Salinger are still lobbying for Franny and Zooey. The dam's name is Zoie so that's kind of a pull towards Franny and Zooey.
from zosianicola :
I risked having my own independent career. For love (love x 3) I chose to be the one who raised the kids. The "risk" was that I wouldn't respect myself, and indeed, that did happen, but I do have my fab husband and our fab 2 kids---ie, love x 3. it's mostly good.... on your other note, I also am glad to have Warren Buffet in our world, but don't you think that we should also be praising Melinda Gates? Seems like she made both her hubby and his buddy more human
from indigomonkey :
I love Erica Jong too, you wanna borrow her autobio I read the other day? Actually I think CW is reading it now. I don't know that I've risked anything for love. Sometimes I think I am risking my own true self expression for this current love, if you can call it that, but I don't really think that is true, and if it is, whoa, note to self: "reflect." I've risked a job for love, I risked my health. I think that at any time that I "think" that I am risking something for love, there's really no risk, it's really all part of the love in the first place.
from indigomonkey :
Frank Mills! I was just listening to that cd the other day, and rocking out of course. I won't say anything about being after Warren Buffett or Ed, seeing as how I'm before yer Mom and I'm sure you love yer Mom more than WB.
from elgan :
I risked my whole future for love 24 years ago. I've risked my sanity for the love of my children. I would say that just aboust sums it up.
from sheslikefire :
I've risked my sanity. Is that good? Kylos xx

Oh MY! poor secret agent dog. I hope he/she gets better real soon. hehehe, violated butterfly bush.
from fightn4life :
Thanks Zuzu, much more was discussed than I wrote about. :) Our meeting lasted over an hourhim asking questions. I feel I have done the right thing. As far as a law suit he knows I have enough documentation to follow upthe choice will be mine. His plan of action will be to bust up his little group and give him six months to get right with the company, we'll see. Sandyz

Good entry, I am so glad to hear all is right with your world. Yoga, yes it does the body good. I do Yoga alone but the peace within is awesome. I am off today and the rains have come, oh well I can find interesting things to do right here in our little house. Maybe paint my toe nails. :) Sandyz
from hedgehoggy :
Mmmmmm.......just ate a pickle. So, I see that I am in your thoughts when it comes to entries. Everyone writes differently so when your time comes in which you want to explain away on who you are, just do it with gusto as time sees fit. Me? I'm puttering around after a late night of seeing someone whom just came in from New York. Right now, there is a festival that is annoying as now parking is impossible. That's why I am going nowhere seeing as I will never be able to park again. Do some self pictures like you did earlier with the shadow I talked about. That was nice. Mysteriousness is a good thing. You sent me that long note but still kept me wanting more. Sara'll be here soon so adios!
from zap-jocelyn :
I know isn't it! I love it how one moment can change all your out looks on love, life, and friends. I've been so happy all day. I had nothing to do but sit around like usual since the break up, but I wasn't depressed at all. I love it! Toodles! -Jocelyn

So cute this is a good entry zuzu.
from hedgehoggy :
You're making me wish I had met you in high school! Way back when, I used to travel back and forth to the private school with a guy's sister that just so happened to be a punk. The other sister was a blonde cheerleader while I got the girl next to me in safety pins and a mohawk. I was happy.
from zap-jocelyn :
It's not really that I've heard it before. I just don't seem to understand how I'm supposed to think that way. I am clincly depressed and my whole life I've been a pessimist. I'm trying to turn things around, but as we all know that wont happen over night. I'm starting to go to NA meetings, GLBT support groups, and therapy. I'm hoping that will help my struggle to appreciate the things in life a little easier and make it happen a little faster. I do want to love life and love myself. It's just hard for me. Thank you for all your support, like I've said so many times, I appreciate it so very much. &hearts Jocelyn
from zap-jocelyn :
Thank you for your advice, but the thing is I've heard it all before, and it doesn't help me. But I really do thank you. -Jocelyn
from zap-jocelyn :
Thank you. I'll check it out. She's not a new friend, she's an old one. Although a lot has changed yesterday, and not for the better.
from zap-jocelyn :
Thanks. This may sound corny but that really does mean a lot to me right now. I feel like not many people think of me, and if they do it's only how much they hate me. Toodles! -Jocelyn
from madrigle :
yeah, I listen to way to much right winged talk radio, I wanna know what they are saying, anyway, it seems to be a recent theme the last few months, bashing celebrities that make statements of political commentary because 'they hold sway' over the american public. blah, blah, blah
from hedgehoggy :
I'm guessing the destination would be San Francisco. Would be interesting to talk of the old days where punk was real punk. Do you realize that I still have no clue as to whether you are married, divorced, a bookworm, or whether you wear Doc Martins or sneakers?
from a-z-a :
love the expression on her face -- priceless!
from madrigle :
Hey thanks! I don't know, I just need to kick myself swiftlly in the ass. I need to refocus back to my colorfield works. I need to be fine with the fact that just cause one gallery didn't except me, the first I've tried, doesn't mean, my work has no value. I know Ill find my scene, sooner or later. Patience is a virtue. And persistance. Hugs, Thanks for ecouraging me. James

You are braver than me! I am too afraid to post a picture online. Your curtains are pretty. So is the frame with the roses.
from elgan :
Hahaha, Great picture! I love it!
from virtualcrack :
uh, I was talking about the rainbow rose.
from virtualcrack :
I know how they do it, I did it for a project once. 1. Get a white rose. 2. Slit the bottom of the stem into sections. 3. Put each piece in water with dye, each a different color. I think here they did three sections, with pink dye on the top, yellow on the bottom and blue on the right. The flowers suck up the different colors of dye as they sit in the water. You can try it with freshly cut flowers yourself!
from madrigle :
I LOVE that the lens is your face. HUGS.
from madrigle :
mine never stunk, they were supposed to, yeah they are fly and maggot polinated. :( but oh so very cool looking. I ran across a photographer from southafrica that has pics of dozens of native species there. somehow I didn't bookmark it though. Yeah, I went to that gargen shop cause Martha had shot a segment there. Kind of a pilgramdge. :D
from hedgehoggy :
Actually, I like this picture quite a bit. Not because it's in the bedroom but it's got a hint of mystery to it while showing more. Plus, I like the hair. Are those tattoos on your arms because my image that's loaded kind of hints at either those or shadow. You really think I'm that kinky?
from madrigle :
I still catch myself giggling when I see this post.

incredible! i've never seen roses like that... they don't look painted... crazy.
from zap-jocelyn :
Thanks. I tried to pick one that some what worked on Firefox. It's not perfect but nearly.
from marilynstar :
I really thought "Hotel Rwanda" was excellent, although depressing--but I think thats the point! It made me terribly angry at our government for just abandoning them and letting all the genocide happen. I didn't read that book, but this summer is "Katie's Summer of Books" so maybe I'll put it on my list!
from madrigle :
:) you so make me smile. Yeah I took the photo. Here are the photos I've been up to lately. I've been lazy about cross posting. http://www.flickr.com/photos/madrigle/

Dragon flies are magic to me. If I had to identify my totem, it's be a dragon fly or a African Grey parrot. I think it's more likely to be the parrot. But the dragonfly pops up in my mind and my dreams again and again too. Anyway. I love how the depth of field captures the near wings but not the far. Gorgeous. HUGS.
from hedgehoggy :
I love frogs but the best are those dangerous ones in the Amazon that have orange markings. Whoever designed those deserves a creativity award of some type.

Hi Zu---I was posting, then I heard the screech owl outside my house---it sometimes visits my back porch---I hit the post button, then when I came back I thought my post was dumb and deleted it. So, no computer snafu, just me being ditzy

I want a table and chairs handcrafted by a hungarian artisan! I bet he was hot. He WAS hot wasn't he? :D

Wow, That looks fantastic Zu, well worth the trouble I think. I love white, so bright and clean. Show us more please (I would love to see the kitchen proper). How about befores on the bath too? Oh yeah, I almost forgot...if you believe they are truely "old" (as in not one who might be missing) I would leave them lie.

I love it Zuzu, how you must love sitting at the table looking at the awesome work you both have done. Thanks for the advice I am thinking...thinking. Sandyz

I found a tree frog very like that in an amayllis last weekend. He matched the leaves so perfectly

So this is where we clink our glasses in the shower as it's agreed that being too lazy to clean ourselves only to have our lovers do it works? Jolly good show! I just love to have my nipples sucked while the soap finds its way around my 'pits. That is........if the drawbridge isn't raised while she bends over to pick up the soap.

Wow, if we found remains where we are building I would keep on building hoping they were peaceful souls. I wouldn't remove them no matter what kind of bones I might dig up, I would accept the fact many animals and people lost lives and rest in many parts of the world. hypothetically speaking Sandyz
from boann7 :
yeah what he said.. call it in.. ewww , you must be creeped out. i think i would be ... hope its nothing but a cow or something like that. wow, glad you liked the entry. thanks for the novel =)
from madrigle :
OH LORD! hmmm, I don't know what the hell I'd do. I guess if I was creeped out by the possible remeins (and I could go either way on the creeped out factor) I'd report them. Uhg, Ok, the more I think about it the more I think I'd be likely to just go ahead and report it. for several reasons, could this come back to bite me in the ass later, what if they are h-remains, and they are relatively contemporary and they might in some way end of bringing closure to some very old persons life now, or, yeah, if they are remains it just seems right that they be well respectively delt with, not swept under the crawl space, as it were. Yeah, so I'm pretty damned sure I would report it. HUGS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Will have to do with a showing after I take a look at Kingdom Of Heaven's 190something minute version.

Every Michaelmas day for years we had to (I mean, got to) witness the timeless pageant held at St Michael's Academy (ENDLESS fun skits about the fall of Rome and the expulsion of Lucifer and the founding of Mont St Michel and the Battle of Hastings....................). Wasn't Ithuriel one of the warrior angels? Like Michael and Fanueil?
from fightn4life :
Ithuriel's Spear... "This wildflower of the American West has a great many common names because throughout its range, every pioneer town called it something different, yet it never became commonly enough gardened for any single name to settle onto it. "Grassnut" is probably most often used by hikers; it is "Fool's Onion" to old-timers who know that hunters of wild onions are fooled by its resemblance to edible alliums. Loved the photo and the history behind the flower. Sandyz Many people call it Ithuriel's Spear. Ithuriel means "Discovery of El," the Canaanite divinity whose name was coopted as a name of Yahweh. Ithuriel was a high-ranking & princely angel who oversaw doings in the Garden of Eden. He is named in Rabbi Moses Cordovero's great kabbalistic work The Orchard of Pomegranates, & doubtless had an ancient oral tradition well before the great 16th Century Rabbi committed any part of Ithuriel's legend to writing. Later grimoires also mention this angel, & Milton mentions him as a cherub. When the serpent first tempted Eve, it had legs like other beasts, & resembled a toad. When it was in the aftermath of mischief cursed to go forever upon its belly, Ithuriel touched the toadish Satan with his spear, & its legs vanished. In whatever guise Satan appears to this day, the touch of Ithuriel's spear reveals his true form."
from madrigle :
Milton's paradise lost, I cheated and used google though. Gorgeous little plant. Lovely photos. Ithuriels spear at the gate of eden.
from a-z-a :
i think you're right; perhaps what i'm feeling is not love, but rather a lust for feelings of love? mmm. lovely photos, as usual. erm... Ithuriel's spear... reminds me of ancient times. Greece, perhaps? haha i have absolutely no idea. then again, i didn't google it. that would be cheating, eh?

Did you take this picture??
from hedgehoggy :
Did you just blow smoke in my eyes? Very nice picture.
from madrigle :
COOL!!!!!!!!!! is that some kind of zoom effect?
from elgan :
Whoa! Thats amazing!
from madrigle :
Where are you?
from hedgehoggy :
I looked up the book you mentioned on Amazon. From the reviews, it looks like people found it a great read. Unfortunately, it's out of print but if you want to send me a copy, I'll read it and send it back once done. Right now, I'm on Sara's "Haunting Of....." but that will be finished soon.
from zap-jocelyn :
I looked at it on Firefox if that's what you mean. And yesh, it looks crappy.
from hedgehoggy :
The book you suggested is out of print. If you'd like to, you can send your copy and I'll ship it right back as soon as I finish it. I'm currently working on "The Haunting Of....." and am about to finish that very soon. Your book got very good reviews on Amazon so I am curious.
from zap-jocelyn :
I have Firefox too. [I think that's the same thing]. Anyway, I'll change it just for you. Seeing as you seem to be one of the few people who actually takes the time out of your day to read my diary. Thank you for that. Toodles.
from madrigle :
hey! well, it's the nikon lens that's on my coolpix 8800 (I can't change lenses on my camera) It's a wide angle/zoom/macro the side says 8.9 to 89mm I'm not sure what that is equivalent to in 35mm. The great light is the result of shooting in RAW file format, slightly under exposing, setting to "outdoor strong" in raw shooter essentials program, AND it was about 15 minutes after sunset, so the landscapes were particularly saturated. HUGS. I always appreciate your comments.
from hedgehoggy :
Only 12 more days til the Boondock Saints special unrated edition. As for the sex toys, South Carolina's head honcho was threatening to band them. Like Sammy said, people can just use the Internet if this happens.
from madrigle :
wow! that trips me out! I can't for the life of me figure out your perspective on this. is the background water? wow.
from a-z-a :
that looks like a dream -- in fact, almost precisely like something out of my dreamscape... surreal and fuzzy... seemingly tangible, but with that awesome other-worldliness i love so much. ♥
from f-i-n :
lovely flowers...
from elgan :
Such beautiful photos, as always.
from boann7 :
oh goody more zuzu pictures =)
from madrigle :
Oh my gosh I adore you. You so just made my day. ! :D The depth of field on that last shot is stunning! Adore the watercolor effect of the back ground and that the very last flower on the panicle as I was scrolling down was the one in focus. HUGS!
from a-z-a :
beautiful! i can't wait until my own flowers start to bloom.
from smokefree-me :
You are absolutely right Zu. In one form or another, the drinking IS just the slo-mo version of what she threatened. Not too terribly long ago, during a rather heated discussion, she admitted to me that her drinking was an attempt to garner attention. I pooh poohed it, wondering, if you want attention, why do something that makes people avoid you? (yes, I realize it's the logic in my engineer wired brain hampering me here) So in her own way, she would have followed through had I not called 911 - the only thing left was which weapon to choose. Today has been better. I'll be posting an update soon. Thanks so much for looking in. Your advice and insights are always welcome and appreciated. Brian.
from fightn4life :
I talked to Don about your ideas about seeing the movie on DVD verses big screen. He said we should go on and catch the movie next weekend. Thanks Zuzu. Sandyz
from madrigle :
You rock! I never would have thought to do the whole symbol thing to fool google. THANKYOU. ooooo dreamweaver sounds fun. I've not played with my page in forever! hugs.
from fightn4life :
I do want to see "United 93" although emotions are still raw to this day, to completely expose them again will take some pondering before making a decision. I am sure I will get it on DVD when it comes out but it is still in the wind if I'll go to the big screen. Sandyz
from zosianicola :
zuzu are you okay? where are you?
from sheslikefire :
It's the most sensible two cents i've heard in a good long while. I think a lot of searching may soon follow. You're good at advice. X
from madrigle :
LMAOLMAO LMAO!!!!! Well, they did find 'x.
from fightn4life :
I loved this, I too found the "x" :) Sandyz
from boann7 :
holy cow zuzu.. who would have thunk baggage had anything to do with women in that way. im amazed and still pondering it. thanks for pointing me there. you are a dear =)
from dragprincess :
Your profile quote is one of my favorite lines ever from a poem. Long live Pound, even if he was an anti-Semite.
from f-i-n :
You've been tagged! See my blog for details.

Wow. That is an incredible picture. Thank you so much.

I love "pick of the week" (PS, page me later) I am still laughing. Sandyz
from zap-jocelyn :
The Hokey Pokey? Sounds like a plan to me. Hehe.
from zap-jocelyn :
Thanks for the tip. I really hope I can do it.
from hedgehoggy :
I hear you on the weeding, etc. I've been outside for so long working on the yard's look that I've been feeling like it'll never end. As for the rape statistic, I don't know what to say. I'm all for a girl being able to smush her rapist's balls with high heels or cutting them off with scissors since rape's effects are forever on a girl's psyche. That girl I talked about was so screwed up in the head thanks to her dad.
from sheslikefire :
Thanks for the advice. I reckon having dogs to drag me round the block will probably help more than a personal trainer.
from zap-jocelyn :
no no, it was nothing you said. it`s just some people who were reading it weren`t welcome. i sent you the word. toodles.
from puddinggrl :
Yeah, I guess i've been having problems with layouts lately. it's just that if i like the picture, then i use it. and im not that great with html either to fix it with confidence! that's right, confidence. ttyl
from fightn4life :
I am not sure what is the norm either Zuzu, right now I must be at the "don't want another day of the same face, body, problems" fork in the road. But all in all it has been a good ride thanks too for biking along with me, even if it is me on horse back and you on the bike seat, still I couldn't ask for a better travel buddy. :) Sandyz
from hedgehoggy :
If my diary is locked (most likely), the words are "bite" and "me" to get in. I've got a stalker to toss out.
from hedgehoggy :
Ah, I miss Elvis as he had the balls to play what he wanted on Saturday Night Live. Remember that controversy? One of the main reasons Mr. Costello has such an awe with me is because he did the song "Veronica" from the Spike album. My first kiss was with a girl named Veronica so close to that year. Memories as I so wish I was that little boy again. "....And a young man sailed on a ship with a picture of Veronica, on the Empress Of India!
from boann7 :
relationships are such a balancing act. one reason im not too good at them. its either feeling neglected or feeling them all up in your face.. ack.... im grateful to be alone for now.
from hedgehoggy :
Joel Strummer will be missed. The Clash and The Who!?! Wow, what a day for 1982 but add Pink Floyd in their heyday and Led Zep.........well, you've got yourself a $150 ticket well worth every cent. Hope you had amazing sex after the concert.
from madrigle :
actually the tick seemed to be in the process of attatching itself. Good to know about the rubbing thing. Never heard that one. HUGS
from madrigle :
LOL! I'm so comiserating with you about boys being up in our space! :) Change my profile? You mean the 29 thing? Hell no! I'm klinging to 29 till the very last second! Did I say that? I meant, turning 30 isn't a problem for me at all, nope, not a problem at all.
from puddinggrl :
is ed a boyfriend?
from fightn4life :
Thanks Zuzu about the heads up on my page, I'll get to worken on it. Sorry about Ed, but...life moves on. Damnit! I too wish you could have met with Alison and I, would have been awesome. You never know though, I wouldn't have ever thought possible a chance meeting with her and her new love. I took pictures. :) I'll get them developed soon. Sandyz
from elgan :
Sorry to hear that Ed lost his job. Bummer indeed.
from f-i-n :
maybe this is a transition into something better...something you wouldn't have expected....
from puddinggrl :
eh? hottie? me? i don't know about that! there are sooo many prettier asian girls than me! wahhhh!!! I enjoy reading ur diary too! today i feel sick....how bout u?
from madrigle :
LOL, what was that steinbeck novel??? hmm. anyway, how goes the flea troubles? I found a tick on merlin this weekend. ick. biospot to the rescue. Anyway. hope your cold is better. Hugs.
from f-i-n :
That bunny has teeth!
from sheslikefire :
I too am lurking and reading and such. I'd like to be able to keep my mind organised enough to make a ramble into something as eloquent and senisble to read. Conversely, eloquent reminds me of elephant. I wonder why that is. Either way, nice writing.
from boann7 :
kisses and hugs =) yeah i have thought about asking one of those people what they mean by no baggage.. but then id actually have to talk to one of those people. hehehe
from f-i-n :
I'm worried about hurricanes next summer
from fightn4life :
No, I wasn't thinking bring back the pictures I was pondering all you have written. How true your words, how fragile life is. I often wonder at times the ones that survive a horrific tragedy just to pass for a week later from something a simple as falling from a porch. Neck broke life extinguished. I am left wondering, what was the point. I agree survivors are in a way the lucky, yes the loss is heavy and guilt often asked the age old question "why me." I think Why not me, why not you. Nothing is certain except one day the candle will go out, statistics or not we are on a way trip once we take our first breath of life. My heart goes out to AIDS victims rather it was from life style or circumstance. We have a person at work with a target because of the HIV virus, at times that life is hell, rather the gay life style played a part or not, no one cares they only care about the numbers and "What if." No one even knows if the style of life was of the same gender all some others care about is the fact the person is infected. How sad, what stupidly. Great post, much to ponder. (BTW I had the most awesome meeting with Alison, what a wonderful person. She is all I envisioned and more, what an wonderful person. More later and pictures. :) Sandyz
from boann7 :
so true =)
from puddinggrl :
Sorry about the username thing, take out the hypen in your username and type that in to get in my diary. Whoops! lol. I've never heard of Found magazine. Is it one that you would find in a museum or library or something? eh. sounds kinda cool.
from a-z-a :
actually, that's very true. despite my overall disgust, it does definately grab one's attention. i assume, because of the "graphic" and unusual nature of the photo. from what i've read, this fast can go anywhere from 10 days to 40+ (obviously, for more experienced fasters/cleansers, which i am definately not) but i haven't decided when exactly to stop. anywhere from 10 to 14 days should be sufficient for me, i think. my goal right now is 10 days. i guess it all depends how i feel on day 10, though. :)
from a-z-a :
yeah, i mean... i'm not surprised that it was in the paper... i just think it's a tasteless front-page photograph; especially since they didn't have a clue who it was, but i suppose i really shouldn't be all that upset. afterall, i've seen far worse. especially on television, for example... yet i'm left wondering if they still would have run the photograph had it been a woman in the trunk; or a child?
from elgan :
The Magician's Nephew is possibly my favourite Narnia book. I had a singing student once for whom I likened the dead part of the voice as Charn, a place where nothing was happening. It was actually her analogy, so we went with it. My favourite line comes from that book: She was a dem fine woman!
from harri3tspy :
The Magician's Nephew was always my favorite of teh Narnia books. I remember having a record of a British actiress reading it aloud that I used to play over adn over again on my little box record player when I was a kid.
from a-z-a :
my mother is the complete opposite -- working in the lab in the hospital, she is often "over"-informed (if there is such a thing) and offers me her own particual brand of" wisdom" at the most inoppertune moments of my life... ie, while dropping off cranberry juice at work for me, after i contracted a slight bladder infection, she decides to announce (quite loudly, and in front of several of my co-workers, mind you) "you know, you're supposed to pee after sex... right?" ....thankfully, i also find her antics more... amusing than anything else. i'm sure most people would have been terribly embarrassed, but strangely enough, i think i'm accustomed to it. as for my cleanse, so far so good! i'm discovering a lot about myself during this "fasting" process... of course, despite what i may say, i still cannot wait to graduate to a solid diet once again. i feel like i have a better understanding and appreciation of food, even having only gone five days without. hopefully this tanscends the cleanse and i can incorporate healthier habits into my daily routine. thanks muchly for the support; i really appreciate it. :)
from elgan :
It would seem that your 15 minutes of fame just won't go away. Sorry about your sore feet. That will go away.
from boann7 :
hey is everything ok.. you have been gone a while.. i miss you
from madrigle :
ruhoh. hmmmmm. Hugs to you. are you ok?
from a-z-a :
ahh... touch. :)
from puddinggrl :
just use your username and there you go!
from f-i-n :
Um...sure. But I'm afraid they wouldn't like it. Then I would cry.
from fightn4life :
Oh...What can't "500,000 heroin addicts can't be wrong..." about?? Just wondering. Sandyz
from fightn4life :
How do you think I feel, I wanted to be a cat, or horse, even the good dog? A freaking grizzly? Now that is disturbing. Maybe I should retake the quiz lying on the answers until I fit a nice animal. Humfood for thought. Good Lord I could be food for a grizzly. I'd like to see that documentary. I watched "Walking with Dinosaurs," & "March of the Penguins," both very good. Sandyz
from f-i-n :
I can do either...as long as they stay still. In class, I spend a lot of time drawing everyone's feet until they feel me staring and turn around...
from f-i-n :
That's so sweet. It takes me a long time to draw something. I can't draw from my head...I have to see it. So I wish I could get better at it.
from f-i-n :
I don't pay much attention to the size...as long as it says fine, I'm fine. Sometimes I like ballpoint pens. Do you like to draw too?
from f-i-n :
Thank you! I use Pigma fine point pens and Pantone markers for shading.
from aliannmil :
I love your ramblings. I always wait patiently for the words and you never disappoint. I can help you with a non-diet (fact is I could use a non-diet myself). Of course we may have to resign ourselves to the possibility that these are the natural effects of time and thin no longer looks good on us (pay attention to the rail thin older women and how unpleasently their skin hangs on their frame.) I'm going to see Sandy on the way to MI, how lucky am I?
from madrigle :
wow. SOMEBODY read your letter to the pres. anyway, I pretended I was my fav photographer today and took a bunch of macro shots at the botanical garden. Anyway. I'll post them at some point. Hugs. (oh, fav photographer would be you) :D
from a-z-a :
well, i hope the entry stays... at the very least, for a little while. :)
from fightn4life :
I loved this entry Zuzu, glad I was able to read it before bleach cleans it out. You know I wrote the president but being I am a no one it is most likely still in the basement gathering dust. Nicky, my youngest daughter wrote the president snail mail years ago telling him her sister didn't care about the environment because she wouldn't stop using aerosol cans filled with hair spray. That was a few presidents ago and so far my oldest daughter has never been reprimanded. I suppose that mail too is lurking amongst the dust bunnies. Wouldn't it be awesome if someone really cared and read that mail and sent my daughter a warning? Just thinking. I am sorry about your busted plans, just maybe all will be looked over and the meeting will come together after all. Sandyz
from boann7 :
i give it an hour or so.. but im glad i got to read it =)
from puddinggrl :
I'll check if it's the V700 too!
from puddinggrl :
camkid--for my diary. now u can see the pictures that i wish i could have and the ones that i've been taking with my little ol' samsung! why samsung? cuz it was cheap!!!! hahah! also, because of it's 7 megapixels thing. i was like: whoa! 7!! rat's a big number! so, yeah. it only cost er...199 dollars, something like that.
from a-z-a :
as soon as she is back from leave, i am booking an appointment with her. and thank-you so much for the kind words... i really do appreciate them.
from hedgehoggy :
Was that a proposal? I'm now wondering if you are married since you don't share that much with us as to this personal life. I love words and would love to hear you say things on the topics of sex, rock n roll, and drugs. Pictures can only do so much but since you had me with that cell phone discussion.........lots to let out. I'm just so cute and cuddly that punks wanna marry me, huh? Beware for I have venom.
from fightn4life :
I love it, so true. How many of us are just sitting at home on our computer, alone reading entries. Sandyz
from f-i-n :
I like what you said. I still wonder about all the botched photos that we delete. Sometimes they reveal so much.
from zap-jocelyn :
I just CHANGED my layout.***
from zap-jocelyn :
Thank you. I just my layout right after I wrote that post though. I think it was my old layout that you were talking about. Once again, thank you.
from puddinggrl :
Hey Zu, thanks for the note about the cameras! Seems like you really love your G5! lol. Canon seems to be a good brand too. Maybe it's just that I haven't been using the focus thing right on my Samsung 7 mega pixels camera...to get the great shots that you have been getting with that camera. How much did yours cost? I'm too poor to get a dSLR--i've got 100 dollars in the bank, go me!--so that sucks. argh.
from aliannmil :
Stop by and see my new addition.
from a-z-a :
whoa. can we say god-awful spelling...
from a-z-a :
i sometimes think i am a bit *too* intimate in my blog... sometimes it affects what i write, expecially if i know someone in particular will read it. i try not to let it fester in the back of my mind, but occasionally i find myself attempting to censor my own thoughts. btw, LOVE the colours. :)
from aliannmil :
Stop by and see my new addition.
from puddinggrl :
Hello, I came across your diary when I was browsing around the Circle page. I really like your photographs. I'm interested in buying a new camera (sigh, even though I know it'll be a HUGE amount of money) that produces pictures as clear as yours. What are they called, digital SLR cameras? podiatrist? *shudder* i have to wear inserts in my shoes!!
from f-i-n :
beautiful colors
from madrigle :
Oh good lord! Flawless beauty! As a child I wanted nothing more then to see a trillium in real life. They seem so otherworldly somehow. HUGS. Thanks for your note the other day. I'm feeling better, and I do understand what you mean, and i try to live my life that way. I just miss him still I guess and have these really low days now and again. Anyway. HUGS. and thanks for your thoughts.
from fightn4life :
Love the flower, you do take some awesome photo's. Sandyz
from boann7 :
fragile lavender... i do love your photos... sometimes they are much better than words.
from fightn4life :
What a mesmerizing photo. Something about it stirs inside me when I look at it. Forbidding kind of feeling. Oh, congratulations on the new laptop. Sandyz
from indigomonkey :
it's hardly a mundane entry, as I am mentioned in it. and by the way, i did feel the pinch, but I am so mature now, after my workshop, that I didn't respond. hehe. anyway, the visit was a day too short for me, i coiuld spent all day and chatting into the wee hours over hot cider. so let's plan that soon!
from harri3tspy :
One of my most favorite songs. Thanks for giving me something good to have stuck in my head this afternoon -- and an image to go with it.
from zosianicola :
the KDLang version makes me cry
from zosianicola :
oh life is so wonderful
from candoor :
beautiful :)
from a-z-a :
mmm. this looks like a painting.
from boann7 :
perfect
from boann7 :
im leaving a hug for you.. hope your doing ok
from boann7 :
hey how are your feet feeling and did you get to see the doc yet?
from zosianicola :
I did that very thing for glasses last summer, with my extra FSA money, and got a VERY sweet pair---scratch-resistant, high density, graded tetrafocalism, I adore them. But about the table, we have an Amish furniture store in town. The owner has a special relationship with a particular community of Amish fold in Indiana. My sis in Wisco (by total coincidence) did the same thing recently, only her town has a furniture store with a special relationship with some Amish community in Ohio. Do these not exist in California? Maybe you have plenty of Californian carpenters, and we don't in TX or WI
from hedgehoggy :
May 23rd, 2 discs, and the complete flick after being censored for violence. Boondock Saints aint one for the kiddies! I'm curious as to why I had never heard of it til my girlfriend forced me to watch it one night. That cat just had to go now didn't it?
from madrigle :
yeah, you can do it without the roux. the roux just thickens the soup and gives it a velvety texture. Biospot is a pyrethrin based flea insecticide. you put the drops between their shoulder blades once a month. supposedly it kills fleas where ever your dog beds down. Pyrethrin is derived from a certain kind of chrysanthemum. It is safe to mammals, I know we've heard that line before, if i remember right it's something to do with the molecule size that causes it to not effect us. Hugs.
from aliannmil :
Frontline, you use the spray all around the house (baseboards, rugs, bedding, furniture) and it lasts for three months (kills adults, larve and eggs). I had many, many cats and they went outdoors and the spot treatment directly on the cats coupled with the spray kept my house free of fleas the whole season (ususally one aplication of the spray and 2 of the three month applications of the spot treatment). I'm glad you are off to the podiatrist, not good to ignore the feet they are after all the base of everything. Good luck on both problems.
from caterwaul :
if you come up with an answer to the flea issue. PLEASE let me know. they don't bite me at all , but they bite monk mercilessly. and i'm not sympathetic enough because i just say "what fleas?"
from madrigle :
eeek! foot problems suck. Hmm, no idea about the fleas. do you have dogs? If so, you can put that biospot stuff on them, and they end of killing fleas whereever they go. Hugs.
from boann7 :
headaches, changing eyesight and tingling feet... have you had your sugar level cked recently?
from f-i-n :
I know exactly what you mean. In real life, people don't burst into song.
from madrigle :
Good lord! that was an amazing link! thanks for tipping me off. Hugs.
from fightn4life :
I never saw the musical nor do I know any New Yorkers, so I am in the dark besides reading your anger. I also understand the missing of who I once was when as I recall the world felt like a better more carefree place. That is how I see my days gone by and remember my playful friends. One of my dearest friends in Florida, H**dy was diagnosed with the AIDS virus almost 11 years ago, my moving around caused me to lose track of him. I can still see his smile, hear his laughter, recall pushing him in a pool at Disney when we were suppose to working a banquet. I often wonder about him and at times miss how I/we were at another place in time. Sandyz
from elgan :
You and I are the only people I know who hate that fucking musical. I dont hate New York, though, I have more artistic reasons for hating Rent. We're doing a song from it in the spring choir show, Seasons of Love, and it is the dullest, most repetitive, musically unintersting piece I have ever sung, and yet the choir members love it, the conductor loves it, the audience is going to love it and I feel almost like a traitor because I think it is so trite. Thank you for making me feel vindicated.
from madrigle :
I find myself just wanting to rap my arms around you and hold on. What good that would do, I'm not sure. Hugs. Zuzu.
from madrigle :
yes, by far the best in the whole lot. How alien is that red spined barrel in such a desaturated environment. The cactus, horder of water in surroundings that could desperately do with just a sip. Selfish, keeping it all within, not sharing to survive AND dressed all in red to boot. Where the fuck did that little diddy come from? My corner of dland seems to have gone very quiet, so glad to see you here. Hugs.
from a-z-a :
actually, i was wondering about that myself. funny that my own doctor never even bothered to mention switching birth control as an option as opposed to immediately suggesting the Celexa. actually, by the time my current prescription is up, i think she will be back from maternity leave, so i'll definately be having a little chat with her about all of my options. thanks for the information on the Buspar. i believe my anxiety plays a bigger part in this than i realize, and it does help to know that there is always more than one way to skin the proverbial cat. :D
from aliannmil :
I love the desert, guess I need to learn to love the woods again. Please take all the pics of desert you like, I never tire of them.
from boann7 :
the desert doesn't appeal to me but i do like your photos. this one is interesting with the red .. i don't think ive seen that cactus before.
from a-z-a :
i really like this one, too... it has a lot of... depth, for lack of a better term. love the red cacti as well. :)
from f-i-n :
I see colors when I listen to music.
from madrigle :
hehe, I heard something similar 'dessert makes you bigger in the middle' smelling color, i've heard people talk that way, sometimes I think certain colors have a certain sound, and yes, I think there is a perception similar to 'seeing' sound. HUGS.
from zosianicola :
do you smell colors and see sounds? what's that called? I LOVE that. these cacti are FANTASTIC---they are folding space like the guild navigators of DUNE
from fightn4life :
I see or think of a story with emotion in every thing I look at. Is that another sign of being on the mental side? You can bring that one too. Loved the story I felt in that photo, also the plant alone in the desert. Sandyz
from f-i-n :
I am obsessed with numbers. (I have OCD)...so I have to keep checking the clock all the time. Whenever I look at it, I see 11:11. Does this ever happen to you? I see 11 everywhere like an omen.
from madrigle :
Zuzu! you did indeed understand how to take pictures in the desert! HUGS.
from a-z-a :
awesome~!
from zosianicola :
thanks zuzu! oh, i got a gentle lead for izzy, then decided not to try to teach her something new since she was "dying"---now the beast is fine and pulling like crazy again. so we try the new lead tomorrow---i'll let you know
from a-z-a :
beauty. ♥
from fightn4life :
Zuzu, you have beautiful eyes, you look great in punk style. I never did get that craze I stayed hooked on the hippy look, sad but true. Now some say I look hippish, I say jeans, tee shirts, and bare feet is just the way I feel. Sandyz
from valkyrie1223 :
is that a bum? how risqu heh. You are just that much cooler
from a-z-a :
awesome, the punk-ness.
from hedgehoggy :
Now THAT is what I'm talking about! Good gravy, I miss me some punks as it's good to have everyone with a unique style. Why did punk have to die? I'm betting you like old cult classics that show things the way they really are instead of Hollywood's interpretation. Rock, rock, rock n roll high school!
from f-i-n :
I love the lotus pictures! We had some in our pond...but the koi ate them. Now they are in separate bowls around the backyard, listening for sun.
from hedgehoggy :
Good gravy, post up pics of your punk days! I miss punks!
from a-z-a :
i love the mirror-images. beauty. :)
from boann7 :
yes now that you point that out.. .its exacty the reasons i love that one more.
from boann7 :
i like the bottom one the best.. it has such a peaceful feel to it.
from madrigle :
ooo, I'm particularly fond of the last two. Thanks sweety. Yeah, I hope I'm wrong too. It's highly likely I am. but well, I don't know just a feeling... which your right, normally just means I'm overeacting. ok. point taken. Hugs.
from madrigle :
I can't stop looking at these! I even pulled out a panel I started ages ago, a year ago, I think. It's 2 foot by 2 foot, and it's layers have always screamed out for water lillies to me. HUGS.
from boann7 :
i just love orchids.. my very favorite
from madrigle :
THANK YOU! they just scream out to me! I feel such a connection to your photographs. You really, really are brilliant. Such an astonishing eye. HUGS.
from boann7 :

Thank for the offer for the book, I would love to read it. I will send you postage and return the book when completed. I am open for any ideas on journaling. Lately I have been full of thoughts but they appear to be chopped in my mind so in a way free flowing writing is all being put in poetic form. This is ok for awhile but I miss adding an entry full of stimulating thoughts. The last entry I wrote was snail written at work while on break on three pages. When I tried to rewrite it changed over to poem form, not my intention. The thoughts are there but the guts were lost while changing the form in which it was written. Thanks for your help. Sandyz

oy, being found. It's such a fear. I mean so many of my closest friends read me, but the people I"ve been in relationships, usually know nothing of it. I freeked about a month ago when I saw some was reading me from a hospital in Houston. I was sure it was Habibi. If it was he's not mentioned it. After I stopped worrying I decided it wouldn't be all that bad for him to know the things that were going through my mind. even if they were a bit crudely put. Harsher then I'd phrase face to face. Anyway. HUGS.

Oh zuzu, I've not been to a temple in mendencino, butg I know exactly what you are talking about. In the mountains near Las Cruces new Mexico, there are valleys with pine forests in those mountains, but overall they are a rocky desert mountain. In the near foothills, before the rocks soar to their over 9,000 foot peaks there is a pinacle of rock, unassuming, but if you climb it and lay there on the peak of this pinacle, there is something there. An energy. I love that spot. Hugs.

I am going to read that book. I am rereading "Illusions" and think studying every phase that comes from the Messiahs book within the book. I am finding a deeper hidden meaning with this fresh read. I suppose it was there before but now I am feeling a connection. Thanks for many of your musings about books. Undies and a tee at a store? Zuzu I love it, I feel like you are totally real right now, can not explain it, just seems, welllike welcome to my everyday mixed up confusing world. Sandyz

My jaw just drops. Everything in life can be seen as something different by another so I enjoyed your "37 cents." Many men are on cell phones but, from what I've seen with my own 2 eyes, women have been the worst. I hate phones, too, and avoid them as much as I can. Love that strong voice of yours.

I'm addicted. All day, all I've wanted to do was kiss him again. Okay, so I've indulged more detailed fantasies then just simple kissing. but still. OY. hahahaha is the macro feature working as well on your camera. My older camera seems to give me consistently crisper macro shots. I'm sure it's just me though. HUGS.
from madrigle :
Thanks sweety. It's such a scattered entry. But I had just been writing in pieces and decided to post it as is. HUGS. hows that camera treating you?
